Oh gosh the site I just witnessed... it went like this
Two year old son runs off to our (hubby and I) room.. there aren't to many exciting things in there so I just let him be, 1 minute later I see him exit our room and run into his. He then returns to the lounge within in seconds, lays a pony on the sofa and thats when I see in his other hand the pair of nail scissors (which he got from our draws  ) and he was going straight for the mane    Worst mistake ever letting him see me rehair a pony yesterday 
I wish I could padlock the pony cabinet now a btw the nail scissors are so blunt they wouldn't even get paper if you tried with all your might

i highly recommend baby gates!!! i have a wooden step over one on my bedroom doorway, and another swing gate one in the entryway to daughter's room, bathroom, and toilet. and another gated one in kitchen entry. stops mr 2 getting anywhere near our ponies, lol!!!

lucky it was only a g3 but he was so matter off fact about it, there wasn't a moment of hesitation.

Oh goodness! Pony disaster averted although your little boy sounds adorable with his adventures. I used to do this all the time with Barbies when I was a little girl - the ponies remained immaculate but Barbie regularly got a hair cut so I know where he was coming from.

Ahahahaha!   I can laugh now, since my boy's safely old enough to not want to barber ponies.  (Well, brush and admire them, yes, but barber them, meh, not so much at the mo'.)  But it reminded me of the time (the one and only time) I caught him writing in a book - he was maybe two and a half, and since he'd seen me doing crossword puzzles, he thought it was fair game...!   Tell him he has to go to a special school for ten years before he's allowed to be a pony hairstylist like you.   Worked for my son and the books...
