Vagabond Opera is going to be a couple hours away at some point in time, February? I don't remember, all I know is that I'm going. They're a gypsy jazz band with a duo of opera vocalists, though they sings more than just opera. They're pretty swell. Look 'em up on Spotify. I'm also going to see Della Mae on February 10th, they're a bluegrass act with a lot of Americana influence, they're pretty new but they're doing really well for themselves.

I don't really like going to big shows, I do a lot of concert photography, so smaller venues are really great for that. I'm also into bluegrass, jazz, and gypsy folk, so the odds of me going to a big show are pretty slim. I don't really like distorted guitars or loud music, I don't listen to music that makes you want to 'turn it up', which seems to be the type of music that permeates the popular charts. It's not that I particularly like quiet music, gypsy jazz isn't dulcet, but it's not an assault of noise, either.

This summer I'm going to be 18, have my own car and a job, so I'm hoping some good artists will be coming to Portland, or surrounding states. I've never been to a "big" concert before but I'd love to take a road trip and see some concerts with my friends. If Danzig is going to be in Cali again, I am seeing him for sure! and if Barenaked Ladies are doing another tour, I'm gonna go see them too. :D

I used to love concerts, but my social anxiety has gotten way too hardcore for me to go to them anymore.  :(

Alice In Chains this May!! *is excited* Oh, and they're with a bunch of other bands that don't really play the style of music I enjoy but I will suffer through them for Alice in Chains. :)

There are so many bands from other countries being listed that I've never heard of.  I think it's time to do some searching and find out what they sound like!  Some of my favorite bands are foreign, so this is a good opportunity to discover more.  :)

My husband and I were going to see Lindsey Sterling play next month, but not sure if it will happen now as money is tight and I have some doctors appointments around the same date.

Fleetwood Mac, nice!

I'm seeing Eric Church in February, I'm stoked! I am in love with his newest CD Chief, it's pretty much all I listened to this summer!
Also going to Monster Jam with my Dad in Feb, we usually go for his birthday (which is in March) :) My sister and I take him! It's a lot of fun!!

I'm hoping to take my boyfriend to see Coheed and Cambria next month. He loves that band so I'm really hoping we will get to go. The last time we went to a concert was about 3 years ago when we saw his favorite band, Killswitch Engage, on Valentine's Day. I surprised him with tickets and he's kept his ever since. <3

In less than two weeks I'm going to see Voltaire on one night, and Emilie Autumn the next! My first time seeing Voltaire, but there will be burlesque and stage magic, so I know it will be fun. I've seen EA once before and her show is AMAZING (aside from her wonderful music her troupe also does vaudville and ribbon/fire acrobatics). Super excited for that.

Then in March I'm seeing Cradle of Filth! We don't get nearly as many European bands playing here as I'd like, so it's really cool. (I would have preferred a more symphonic band [Like the wonderful Nightwish show last year!] but it's still good.) I really hope they play Nymphetamine.

H.I.M. is my number one most wanted band to see! A bit jealous of all of you who have already. ;P

Previously, Manson was in that spot, but I got to see him twice last year! It was a dream come true. I've loved his music for half my life. I've heard people say his recent shows weren't good, but I just disagree. He still sounds wonderful, and the set lists he chose were to die for. Visually there were lots of costume changes at both shows. The first was at a small, intimate venue, so not a lot of stage dressing, but I was literally just a foot away from him. *swoon*

I saw him for the second time on Halloween night, and he was co-headlining with Rob Zombie! It was pretty much the greatest thing ever. This time it was a stadium, so he had tons of awesome lights and props and things to add visual interest to the show, which sounded just as good as the last one.

I admit, Rob Zombie blew him away in the visuals department, but I'd say that's more a commentary on how incredible a showman Zombie is than anything else. He has so much energy, and he really combines his art: music, films, costumes, GIANT MONSTERS ON STAGE..! into a multimedia experience.

i have bam on my FB so I know i can look that up...i know I saw that photo too just didn't pay attention lol

I saw him in 2010 too, but I hated the show, I actually lost some love for them. I don't know what it was but i just wasn't feeling it. It could be cause I have loved all there older stuff and stopped around dark light came out... and everything was mostly new. I know they can put on good shows cause I have DVDs of them, but this one did not impress me

Manson actually kinda sucked too~ I don;t know if it was because of his beef with Zombie, but his show was lacking last year, and I would have liked to watch him for longer then an hour set. Thats why i wanted to see him again this year i figured he would be better. He was awesome back in 2006 0r 9 when i saw him last~

Well, seeing as it was my first time seeing them live, I don't have a lot to base it on, but I do know the DVD's seemed more interesting.  I just thought it was the cinematography.  One thing I didn't like was the acoustics in Clutch Cargo's.  It's an old church converted into a music venue and I could understand Ville when he was singing, maybe only because I knew the lyrics already, but when he talked, I couldn't make out a thing he said.  A good example of that is this video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQq3baWg6LI  At around 1:13 he stops the song to talk to someone in the crowd.  I couldn't understand him when I was there, I have watched this video over and over and still can't understand him, and obviously the person he's talking to couldn't understand him, either.  It would be a dream come true to have Ville Valo stop playing just to talk to you...but not if you couldn't understand what he was saying.   :(  Hopefully when they go on tour in support of the CD they're putting out this winter, they don't play there again.  It would be great if they played The Fillmore in downtown Detroit.  It's small enough to be an intimate experience, it's easy to get up front, and the acoustics are amazing.  I saw Tenacious D there last year and that's where I am going to see MSI.  I love that place!

I discovered HIM in 2006 with the Dark Light CD.  I thank Bam for talking about them so much because he got me paying attention to them.  I didn't really like Venus Doom, but I thought Screamworks was pretty good.

I heard that Manson didn't do good on this last tour and I heard about his fights with Zombie.  That's a shame.   I saw Manson live online playing with Johnny Depp at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards last year.  It was awesome to see Johnny Depp play, but Manson sounded very drunk.  I didn't like it.

trust me that wasn't just your show, I could not understand him either and I think that is part of what threw me off of the whole thing as well.  I'll have to check out screamworks, I haven't listened to any thing new in awhile from them....
