Greetings!

Hi, folks!  My name is Gina, but you can call me Squid.  I'm a MLP fan from way back (the 80's, to be specific).  As a child, my ponies were some of my most prized possessions.  I loved my Barbies and Hot Wheels too, but I would probably have traded most of them for more ponies. 

I stopped collecting as I got older and people stopped buying me ponies for birthdays and such, and eventually my ponies went the way of a lot of my other beloved 80's toys.  They always held a very special place in my heart, though.  I never lost the instinct to squeal in delight whenever I spotted anything MLP-related. 

In the process of Becoming an Adult, I somehow missed out on the G2 and G3 lines (either that or I saw them and was broke and thus suppressed the memory out of despair >_>).   The newest ponies, I must confess, I'm not all that fond of.  They're just such a departure from the ponies I know and love...  But I've recently started watching FiM, and they're steadily growing on me.

We recently found all of my SO's ponies, which has fully awakened the Nostalgia Monster.  Now we're working on cleaning them all up and finding a place to display them.  In addition, we've been perusing Dream Valley and similar sites, identifying the ponies she has, the ponies I have, and the ponies we both wanted.  We haven't leapt back into collecting yet, but I have the feeling we will soon.  Just as soon as we can tear ourselves away from our most recent collecting obsession - Monster High dolls (and I see we're not alone in that). 

It's wonderful to be here, and I look forward to meeting some of my fellow pony lovers!

That is a nice story about how you got interested in ponies.  My favourites will always be the G1 line too but I really like the G3s and now G2s and G4s are growingon me!  You will probably find the same if you hang out here and see everyone's wonderful collections!

Thank you!     It was great going through all of her ponies and seeing which ones I also had and which ones I remembered wishing I had.
