I am a 36 year old female in the US.  I had ponies as a child, collected hard core for a few years as an adult, and now I'm just collecting more moderately, just getting my favorites.  Lately I have become a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but I still like G1's mostly.  I don't really like the G4's in their toy state.  I think they are better animated.  Some of my other interests, per my username, are the English actor Benedict Cumberbatch, as well as animals, especially dogs, cats, wolves and rats; art, reading, music, and traveling.  I really enjoy live music and since 2008 I have attended many concerts, including Rammstein, HIM, Skillet, Tenacious D, and a few lesser known bands like VentanA, Mushroomhead, and Pyschocstick.  I am attending Full Sail University's online Computer Animation bachelor's degree program.  It's a lot of hard work, especially using the program Autodesk Maya, but it's very worth it.  I have been drawing since I was a small child and I have always wanted to become an animator, so now is my chance.  It's nice to meet you all.   :biggrin:

It's nice to meet you.
I took a few courses in hand drawn animation and 3d animation.
I'm not sure how far along you are with learning Maya but if you ever need any help I might be able to assist. 
Have you tried any 3d sculpting such as Zbrush??

 and Welcome to the Arena.  I have to agree with you on the G4 in it's toy state though the ones with modeled manes and  tails are better.

Kakenterprise, Zbrush is one of the programs that was included in my software package and one of the next few classes focuses on how to use it.  I have tried playing with the program on my own, but I don't really know what I'm doing yet.  Thanks, if I run into any problems I will certainly ask you.   ^.^

Yes, I do like the molded ones.  The first G4's I ever got was the set with Princess Celestia, Spike, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Twilight Sparkle.  I love them!  They just look weird with the brushable hair.
