I would say, maaaaybe. If you don't make your own money, then wait. I have never been big on the whole 'collecting' thing, and honestly got onto the site because I love maiming ponies as a good art/craft expression. Then my friend and I got Monster High dolls: she got sig Lagoona because of the freckles, and I got wave 2 Cleo (who is still one of my favorites!)

A year later, I have spent over $600 on dolls, customized three, have three more in the works of customizing, and 45 dolls in my collection.
So unless you have GOOD self control, or at least the money to support it, no. Because once you start, it's hard to stop and then you put off getting a doll and suddenly there are NO Jacksons anymore and dammit why didn't I grab him when I could? And spending two weeks searching stores to find the new ones...
He who serves two masters lies to one.

I agree with what DoomBunnies said... They are extremely addictive, and they're much more expensive than G4 ponies. My aunt got me my first for my birthday, and in less than a week, I had three. While they can be a lot of fun, they can be very stressful, too.

YEp. Addictive. I bought a bunch of SS Frankies when they were $4.19, intending to just customize some, and give some away. I have 6 plus 3 being customized AND I NEED Robecca. I do love Steampunk though. And I NEEEEED Catrine DeMew when she comes out.

I do have to say that I am a wannabe costume/clothing designer and I love to make my dolls clothes. At least it's applicable to what I aspire to go into someday. Unlike ponies. Not that that stops me.

I am hoping to maybe do a private custom MH swap next year. We'll see. Oooo, a MH clothing swap would be fun too!

They are addicting, as long as you have self control you should be fine. If you're parents would be the ones paying for them, I would have to say collect in moderation and not go overboard (that's when the self control part comes in. XP). Best to buy them in stores where they go for about $14-$25 depending on the specific dolls than online because the prices online range from $25+ online prices can be Veery overpriced. >,>;

If you have the money then go ahead and buy yourself a doll. Monster High dolls are addicting. Your going probably going to end up with more than one doll, but you'll be fine as long as you stick to your budget. >.<;;;

One does not simply buy a monster high doll.  You start with one, then you end up picking up a second, then you swear you'll stick to just four, and a few months later you're rearranging your bedroom to make space for the small army of them you've amassed.  They're like Lay's potato chips.  And cats.

But yes, you should get one.  They're a lot of fun and totally worth the effort it takes to find them.  :biggrin:

they are cool dolls I'll admit but if you don't make your own money, or might get in trouble for buying one hold off and maybe just put a bug in some realtives ear that you'd like one for a bithday/ holiday

You can't have just one. You can't. It's not possible. These dolls are like a disease. And since you're on this MLP forum, I already know that you collect ponies. I know that Monster High will become another weakness. lol
