Trader & Shipping Support / Re: ***RESOLVED*** BAD TRADER: PinkiePony
« on: November 13, 2013, 10:04:03 AM »
Hmm, wow...it seems like someone got the wrong idea from my earlier post here. You only have to read my other posts to realize that slinging snarky personal mud around is NOT my thing on this forum! So I'll just replace it with a TL;DR: situation sucks, don't leave positive feedback for a person who's been banned for scamming and bad behaviour, especially since she only made good when confronted about her dishonesty.

EDIT 12/12/13 after a long grouchy-making road trip (Re: mod note below): I think the post-deleting thing right off the bat makes no sense unless the mods save a copy of the deleted message that can be partially or wholly restored, because sometimes it turns out to be a misunderstanding or a false grudge-reporting. Some of those now-lost posts have had good advice aside from their suspected rule-breaking content. But whatevs, how I run my forums are not how everyone else has to do theirs. (And NOW I can be accused of being snarky. I'm tired from a long drive, I'm grumpy, and I'm being reminded of why I've been a member of this site so long, but very rarely post here. Not attacking you, PL, since you're just doing the job you were assigned, BTW. I'm grouching at site policies I don't agree with--I may abide by them as long as I remember them, but doesn't mean I have to agree with them.)

Please refrain from removing a Moderators note in the future. Your comments, however they were intended were reported to the staff here, thus the removal of your post. PL

P.S. Y'all, lookit the dumbhead on me for forgetting about mod notes and hitting CTRL+A to make my initial edit in November. I'm too used to the only words in my posts being my own and entirely editable. Okay, time to go unpack.

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Getting very upset with university mail!
« on: October 16, 2013, 05:27:22 PM »
Glitzy (and everyone else with problems!), if you suspect mail is being mishandled or stolen, file a professionally-toned, detailed complaint here!

https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/contactus/filecomplaint.aspx

Mail tampering and theft is something the Postal Inspectors take very seriously since it's an arrestable offense. I directed a lot of people to the USPI's when I worked for the USPS.

(And I'm glad to see that Kotty's inappropriate remark has been called out. This was NOT the place to start making insinuations about other people's finances. I'm not trying to sound mean here, Kotty, just adding to the pile of "remember this for future reference" you've had set on your imaginary desk.)

Y'know, reading this and other threads about Brooke, it's really sad. Whenever her name comes up, we're so familiar with her crap that we're always "Oh, THIS ball of cheese and nuts again?" Absolutely no surprise from anyone who's heard of her before. Really says a lot about her and her scamming.

4
Best of luck to you, babylicketysplit! I also hope she will mature and stop thinking it's okay to rip people off (thought I kinda sorta really doubt it'll happen at her age). Too bad the biggest scam artists are the ones who are all sunshine and smiles and endlessly friendly--it'd make it much easier to spot them if they all *behaved* like crooks.

Bork...*minion-like laugh*

Now I'm going to hear the minions in my head every time I make that typo, along with the Swedish Chef. :D

EDIT: BORK BORK BORK!

I don't think Brooke does chargebacks on *everything*, but I haven't done business with her, so I can't be firm on that. Maybe she just does chargebacks when her financial situation is shaky? Probably due to her overspending and shady lifestyle habits, I'd guess. I hope you'll be okay. I'm glad that things went well with her for you so far. Just keep an eye on your financial statements for the next year or so, so you can retaliate if something goes wrong!

ANOTHER arrest?? I hope she's too busy to hop back on Internet sales listings for a good long time.

(I keep mistyping her name as Boorke, and now she is firmly cemented as "Bork" in my mind 'cause she loves to bork stuff up!)

Hey, guys, sorry for the late response. This is my first time online since I posted the original topic.

I'm glad so many people have seen this. She really is a stain on society, and all we can do is try to stay on top of her myriad of aliases. :/ I agree with the posts here...how is she not rotting in jail for having ripped so many people off on top of her own criminal record?! What kind of person do you have to be to still think this crud is okay after so many years? Aren't you supposed to learn it's not okay to steal from people when you're still a child? She's a friggin' adult, for crying out loud. Oh, well, I'm sure she's on a fast track to the big house for a good long time--I highly doubt that her illegal theftin' activities are stopping at buying toys and sculptures online. It's just a matter of time.

oh CRAP   she has favorited a few of my shop items and my shop.  is there anyway i can block this person from buying from me on etsy? :(

Are you the one selling the Balto plush that says "reserved for Alison" on it? Oh man, I hope you're okay! D:

One of my pony-people friends emailed me this link tonight: http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/694571.html

In that Artists Beware post, sculptor Scenceable (http://www.scenceable.deviantart.com/) posted proof of how she was ripped off by Brooke earlier this year. There's a bit more info in the comments to the post. It just went up in the past day, so there will probably be more discussion to come over there.

Here's Brooke's Etsy account, opened in March 2013: http://www.etsy.com/people/allisoninwonderland8

I don't know yet which two sculptures Scenceable was cheated out of. But if I (or anyone else) finds out, it'd be good to update this thread with links since Scenceable keeps photos of pretty much everything in her DeviantArt gallery, so we know what to look out for if Brooke tries to resell them under another new account.

(I hope I'm not posting stuff people here already know! I didn't see anything about this in earlier threads, and I didn't see that allisoninwonderland8 Etsy name in Brooke's list of known aliases.)

If y'all will please excuse me, I have to go rage-flip some tables right now....The nerve of some people! I'm not even involved in this mess, and I'm livid over it. :stressed:

I hope someone posts a report from the meet! :) I won't be attending due to ongoing family stuff. Hope everyone who makes it has a blast, though!

I hope SweetScoops' box comes soon! The box I received from her was so wonderful that I want her to have a great one too. :D

I think my computer must've voted for a different story and was put out that the snowdrop one won, because it froze hard and had to be forcefully rebooted as soon as I looked at the first picture!

Lily is such a pretty pony. I've always loved that colour combo, especially with her wavy mane.

Honeysuckle appears to have had collagen lip injections in that one panel on the next-to-last page. Maybe she had a hot date for New Year's. No wonder she wanted to try to change the season over to the new year!

I'm going to miss these stories. After today, I won't be able to check out the Arena for a week. I'm just glad I'm not leaving on any cliffhangers from these stories. XD

Capt. Jack rank was Jack Harkness (or Sparrow)?? I'm a huge-mongous Doctor Who/Torchwood fan, but I also always thought it meant the techno artist Captain Jack (RIP Capt. Jack =;.;=) Some of these ranks are just brilliant! I can't wait till I'm no longer a "Prom Queen Sweetheart Sister Pony", though *hack, ptui*. Too girly for my tomboy heart, haha. I never even *went* to prom.

I dunno 'bout the rest of you, but now I have to go dig out my 90s techno/dance CD's and spend the rest of the night listening to Captain Jack and Jam & Spoon and Das Modul and Nightcrawlers and Scooter and Blümchen and Ace of Base and and and and and....! I'm sure Jack Harkness (or Sparrow) will forgive my mix-up. You can't tell me he didn't spend the 90s raving in every club between here and Ibiza. XD

Pony Corral / Re: What did you like about the MLP and Friends series?

Oh, man, MY CHILDHOOD. I can't believe I could still verbatim quote so many lines from that Moondreamers ep. And how did I forget how freakin' awesome Andromeda looked after she transformed? Not gonna lie, I wanted her to look like that forever. :D

Hmmm...Snowdrop! 'Cause I've never seen a Flutter Pony story before. And argh, but I can't wait to see them all! I love these tales! =^^=

Wow, the things you can find on the Internet. My opinion of Megan can be summed up by this remark I submitted to My Little Pony Monthly in November 1997 (I can't believe these archives are still online!):

Quote
I stopped liking Megan about the time she started wearing that blue and pink overalls outfit. She was great in "Firefly's Adventure" & "Escape From Catrina"-- but in "MLP: the Movie" and everything else she appeared in thereafter, her character acts too grown up and know-it-all!

I love how Megan was this sweet but scared girl who grew into her confidence, back when she was still wearing her much more appealing cowgirl gear. I still joke that hideous blue-and-pink outfit had a magic curse on it that turned her into an insufferable goody-goody know-it-all. I loved episodes of MLP & Friends where she never showed up. :)

MLP & Friends appealed to me because it was an adventure show, especially since most other girls' cartoons acted like girls couldn't handle adventure stories. I love MLP and Wildfire (hmm, two shows about magical talking equines....) for kicking that mess to the curb. :) I've never been into slice-of-life stuff...I *love* FiM for its smart wrting, but the non-adventure episodes aren't very memorable for me. I mean, I have to deal with crap like friend-drama in real life. I watch TV to get *away* from that stuff, so it makes sense I would be more into a show that favours the fantastical over the realish, and FiM is a bit too focused on real-world troubles like the aforementioned friend-drama.

For me, it's Rescue at Midnight Castle/Firefly's Adventure all the way! I recently got my boyfriend to watch Rescue, along with Escape from Catrina, to show him what ponies were like pre-FiM. He was very pleased at how mature some of themes of Rescue were, compared to the FiM series.

Then I made him watch the first part of "Bright Lights" to show him how awful the quality of the TV series could be--as well as to laugh at the unsubtly Prince/Michael Jackson pony. (I love MLP & Friends, but I will never deceive myself into thinking that it was quality television, haha!) He understandably did not want to watch the other parts. XD I watched the rest of the episode and a few others just to see how badly they aged for me, and while I had a lot of nostalgic entertainment value, yeah, many episodes of MLP & Friends did not age well. "Bright Lights" is definitely one of those.
