Customs / These girls need some major help« on: February 17, 2012, 11:22:41 AM »
So I was digging about in my basement looking for something unrelated to ponies when I came across the first two customs that I ever did AGES ago. Back then I didn't know anything about ponies, so I didn't remove any of the original markings (you can see right through the paint on the red one), they are chipped in places, the pegasus still has glitter wings, I didn't remove the hair...... well, just take a look
visitors can't see pics , please register or login I want to give these girls a new shot at life, because they have suffered quietly for years. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do with them, or, better yet, how to go about getting those coats of paint off? 903

It does sound like a lot of you went through the exact same mindset I did as a kid, lol. it's so annoying now; I wish I could tell my younger self "Nooo! Don't do it! You'll regret it!"
awww!!! do you remember any of the ponies you had?? Yeah, I remember quite a few of them from what they looked like; I had Bow Tie, Moondancer, Medley, and Firefly just to name a few. And the magic-motion Ivy from G2. I regreted letting her go when I did it; currently she's one of the ones I'm trying to replace lol. 904
Pony Corral / The Worst, Possible, Thing!« on: February 15, 2012, 11:14:45 PM »
Is realizing that for a short time in your life you had a massive, MASSIVE collection of G1 ponies and you... got rid of them T__T
Anyway, I have just really gotten in to the pony thing. I was a fan of it as a kid, but felt I had out grown it. Then FiM came out and suddenly eveything is just like "PONY!" lol. When I was a kid I had a pretty big collection of the G1 stuff; most came from flea markets. My dad would buy them for me really cheap (I remember getting some for a quarter in almost mint condition). I also had some of the G2s (my current goal is to at least get one G2 again, lol). I thought about going through some of my old boxes that I've kept from my childhood to see what I had left, but then I remembered that when I outgrew MLP, I donated ALL of them. Talk about regrets, but I never would have guessed that after fifteen years or so I would be back to being interested in it lol. Has this sort of thing ever happened to anyone else here? 905

This is exactly my reason for having eight different pony customs started and none of them finish. I start one, get to a certain point, think "omg must make "insert thing here", go off and start that, and the process repeats

This is amazing! You did a great job on everything about it, and the recording sounds really clear and both not too loud but not too soft either.

Customs / How to you tame the beast known as "pony hair"?« on: February 13, 2012, 11:03:17 PM »
I am currently working on four G4 customs that require a little extra spunk to their hair than just letting it lay flat, but I can't get pony hair to do anything but curl >.>
The main thing I would LOVE to do with some of these customs are the wraps around the pins that you stick in their head, but when I try the hair just unwinds and wont stay put. How do you guys do it? I've looked through some tutorials but I'm either missing something important or I just don't have the magic touch. 908

I've seen the film multiple times over the years. It was one of my favorites as a kid. It's pretty good, so long as you remember when it was made and that it -is- a little bit silly, lol. It's awesome to hear that the toys are still floating around places; I've got an entire set of them from when I was a kid, lol.

This is really recent, but the Shine Bright Luna. I never wanted to buy the entire castle set at full price, and when it went on a massive sale I missed out. And I can't make myself pay ebay prices for an FiM pony thats fairly new, lol.

Customs / Re: So, about those eyes....« on: February 05, 2012, 01:51:40 PM »
Lol, I've seen some of the things that the Hasbro machines turn out!
Thanks to everyone here I decided to stop letting my pony intimidate me and tackled that second eye.... I like it better than the first! They aren't exactly the same, but like ImmortalPanda said, they have a nice charm about them. I was just scared that I was going to completely mess up her entire head by painting a -really- bad eye 913
Customs / Re: So, about those eyes....« on: February 04, 2012, 08:50:52 PM »
I'll have to remember that for my next custom so I don't end up in this position again lol. Maybe she just needs an eye patch, that would solve the problem

All of these pictures are awesome. It makes me want to go take some too, but we have no snow at all! Which is a first O.o (not that I'm complaining mind you, lol)
