Pony Corral / Re: Anyone Have The Blue Prom Queen MIB???

I have a comparison picture of all the SHS sparse glitter picks. Photobucket seems to be down right now, but I will post it once I can upload it. :bigups:

I print all my shipping labels online either direct from PayPal, eBay, or USPS.com then use the pick up service. My mail carrier collects my packages (including international) and I never have to go in to the post office. The carrier has a scanner & enters the customs info in on the spot.

I ship multiple packages a day, and have not had any issues or complaining from disgruntled PO clerks. My carrier has told me multiple times that he "gets paid by the hour & loves people like me because it's justified overtime." :P If your clerks are giving you trouble, try the pick up service.

I'm not sure on the yellow clover comb, but if you're selling I'm interested (depending on price).

Tex's grasshopper comb is usually $8-10.

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Offering item to second bidder on ebay?

I would cancel the transaction with the original buyer first. You should be able to initiate it & select "buyer requested to cancel". The buyer will be notified & should agree to it through eBay. After it's officially no longer hers, then you are free to offer to the second bidder without any chance of reprocussion through eBay. ;) You will also get your fees back until it's officially sold again.

On original backing & in original sleeve, I'd say $100+.

I'm curious who the seller was. I use IG a lot for pony transactions, and I'd definitely want to avoid someone who does nothing to resolve their mistakes.

Pony Corral / Re: What's the "Official" Name for This Pony?
« on: September 20, 2016, 07:00:45 AM »
The pony was designed by Junko Mizuno, a Japanese artist. I've always known her as "the Junko Mizuno pony". The original was one of the large scale art ponies in the 25th Anniversary Pony Project art exhibit. The design was later scaled down to be mass produced for the SDCC exclusive.

Where is the info that her name is Tattoo coming from? This is the first time I've ever heard that.  :wonder:

I've also had problems with her asking to purchase high value ponies then not following through with payment. It's happened to me 3 times in the last year. Finally I told her not to contact me again for any future attempted purchases.

I know the feedback policy is that you can't leave negative feedback for "time wasters" if the translation never takes place, but with the large number of transactions she's flaked on listed here already, I think negative feedback would have helped people avoid falling into this same problem with her over & over again. With high value ponies there's a lot more on the line than transaction for $5-10 ponies.

MLP Nirvana / Re: PC: Airbrush eyes Minty and Southstar

I hear air brushed eyes often. Is it like "hand" painted? I know what airbrush is. I just dont know how it looks on a pony. And how it is done on such a small surface.

Italian ponies had 2 styles of eyes. Stamped eyes have hard, crisp lines. Airbrushed eyes have softer, fuzzy lines.

I have no good suggestions. Unfortunately USPS has raised international shipping costs to the point where most collectors can't afford to buy or sell such a huge item internationally. :(

I don't know how they did it but the US seller I bought my PE Estate from paid $60 through eBay's Global Shipping Program. They posted in its original box which GPS slashed a bit, but I figured it was a small price to pay.

They were similarly quoted $600-800 from other shipping companies so the only explanation I have is a miracle...
eBay's Global shipping program gets lower international rates because they are a bulk shipping service. The price would have been the cost for the seller to ship it to eBay's US GSP location plus the cost for GSP to ship to its international buyer at a bulk discount rate. Unfortunately that's the only way to get a price that low.

I am going to have to agree with Cassie85. I know it's harsh, but you should have worked something out with Tak and the seller before doing the chargeback. I mean, it's gotta be a pretty unpleasant surprise to wake up one day and see a chargeback for $800 on your Paypal account. It would ruin my day. I'd probably have a panic attack.

I know some of the comments may hurt, but what you did was also pretty hurtful to the parties involved. There were other ways to go about this.
The way I read it, Tak initiated the charge back against the seller not Pierlala.

At Pierlala's request, because it would get the money back faster so Pierlala could use it to buy another Rapunzel that was on ebay at the time.

I read it as Pierlala asked Tak to start a refund through PayPal, but Tak called & found out she could get the money quicker by doing a chargeback, and then set that in motion. I'm assuming that neither one knew that a chargeback is only to be used for a fraudulent use of a credit card. It was discovered that the money could be hot quicker that way & Tak decided to do that without thinking of the consequence for the seller.

Both parties are in the wrong for their lack of patience & lack of understanding of how the system works. I just think that Tak should not be made out as the victim when both of them played a part in creating this mess.

I'll just add what I posted in the other thread.
It's probably best if this thread is merged with the other rather than having 2 different threads about the same issue.

It seems like the biggest problem in the entire situation is communication and lack of patience.

A return needs to be worked out with a seller no matter what the circumstances. If the return via Paypal came about because Tak called her credit card company & made a charge-back claim, that's a serious problem. A charge-back claim is to be used for fraud, not simply wanting to return an item. If that is the case, the swiftness of Paypal's response makes a lot more sense now.

It seems like this should be looked at as 2 separate transactions:
1. a sale from Dr EsmeRose to Tak
2. a sale from Tak to Pierlala

After getting the 3 sides of the story, it seems less like a middleman situation, and more like one person bought something to sell at cost to another person.
