Yes, but to be even safer (avoid future rusting) you can take off the metal washer and use two plastic zip ties to secure the tail!

Customs / Need just a little apoxie sculpt?« on: February 14, 2012, 08:30:05 AM »
I was wondering if someone would be so kind to sell me just a bit of apoxie sculpt? I had a little left but I tried mixing it last night and it's too old. I would just need a tablespoon of each part (A and B). I need to make a bridle and another small accessory for a custom. Please PM me if you can help out! It would be VERY much appreciated!

Customs / Re: Is an etiquette poll allowed?« on: February 14, 2012, 08:27:42 AM »
I would contact the creator. Having a never participated in a swap, I can't really add my thoughts to that angle in particular, but if someone purchased one of my customs and wasn't happy with it, I would (a) want to know what needed to be improved so I wouldn't make the same mistake again (b) want to make my customer happy in any way possible.
That said, I think tact comes into play. Rather than saying, "Your custom sucks and you have no talent. Why did you waste my time with this garbage?" it would be nicer to say something along the lines of, "I really like the concept and the color your chose. However, I did notice that the paint seemed very streaky and the eyelashes are very thick. You have potential but those are two things I would practice to make your customs even better." 99
Customs / Re: "Mark" your pony??« on: February 14, 2012, 08:22:56 AM »
Well, it would take one heck of a skilled hand for someone to be able to cut new hair to look like a factory cut. You can always tell when a pony has been rehaired, both from this and from the new quality of the hair. Old hair is very differently textured simply due to 30 years of weathering.
If it was a custom she was referring to, many customizers (such as myself) add a symbol or initials on a bottom hoof as a "signature" of sorts. 100
Customs / Re: Question about Dollyhair MLP Hair« on: February 13, 2012, 04:10:34 PM »
I actually disagree. I would absolutely buy two if your design uses one color predominately. I run a rehairing service and have found that many, many ponies require 1.5 - 2 hanks of hair. The hanks are not always the same width (some are thinner than others depending on when you order them) and some ponies have either very larger plugs holes, very large tail holes, or more-than-normal plugs. Foreigns often have very long, tight plugs that require more hair. I personally would absolutely order 2, unless your plan on doing a kind of "50/50" color split, in which case one of each color would suffice.
ETA: I also cut the hanks in half. Half of a hank in more than long enough for a tail, and also for the mane (assuming you're using a rerooting tool) unless your custom has unnaturally long hair. When I did a Rapunzel recently, I (of course) did not cut the hanks in half. 101

Customs / Baby Alphabet's hair color?« on: February 13, 2012, 10:34:59 AM »
Does anyone know which Dollyhair yellow Baby Alphabet is? I'm guessing it's "Yellow Fever" but I want to make sure it isn't "Butterfly" or "Pineapple."
Also, the stripe on Moondancer's hair -- does anyone know which purple this is? Thank you! 104
