Pony Corral / Re: Minnesota ~I Heart Ponies~ Valentine’s Day Pony Party!
« on: February 09, 2016, 07:39:48 PM »
PonyQueen:  I have a few things to sell too, if there's any room left.  :)  I also have a small 2 x 3 foot table or a tray table that I could bring if you need any tables.  Would baity or common G1's be around $1-3?  Or accessories?  I'm not up-to-date with a lot of pricing.  :-S

Would anyone be interested in Monster High?  I have a handful of mint in box that I'd like to unload for maybe $10 each or so.  Just want to get rid of them.  :-S

Aurora:  Would you mind terribly if I brought fudge too?     I just bought ingredients for chocolate cherry fudge.

I would be interested in buying some of your MOC's.  Can you please let me know when they go up for sale and prices?

Hubby and I will be there!  :-D   I found some cute pony valentines too.  Should we bring anything special?  Inexpensive pony prizes?

AquaticNeon:  Yay, could you please bring one of the posters?  I'd love to buy one.  :-D

Happy New Year everyone!   :frolic:

What an awesome idea, PonyQueen!!  Thank you so much for inviting us!   I'm checking on our V-day plans, but we'd love to come if we can reschedule some stuff.

Will let you know asap.  :)

AquaticNeon:  Is there a chance you still have some MN Pony Gathering posters?  I messaged you, but didn't hear back.  Would still love to buy one.

Awww, your new additions are cute. I don't think I've seen that Pop set yet--which one is it? I have a special place in my heart for Styling Strands Rarity. My bf got her for me this Valentines day and she (and Styling Strands Fluttershy) were my first ponies.

Oh my goodness, SS Fluttershy is one of my total favorites!  :-D  She's just so cute.  :-D  Your bf is awesome, what great v-day gifts!  :-D

The pop pony set is called "Princess Twilight Sparkle Kingdom" and it looked pretty decent sized.  Wish I could have brought it home.

I was in Vienna, Austria last week, and found some pretty nifty ponies at a store called Muller.      I was so excited, because these haven't seem to hit the states yet.

- water globe Twilight Sparkle
- water globe Cadance
- Styling Strands Rarity

I also found a Pop Pony castle that I couldn't buy because it just wasn't going to fit in my suitcase.

Sorry guys, I have to bow out of tomorrow.    I have a cold that comes with this awful hacking cough, and I'd feel pretty terrible if I gave it to you all.

Please post lots of pictures.   :)

Have you tried wool roving?  :)  It's the stuff that is used in felting or is spun into yarn.

Do you use the two part Apoxie or the one part?

I use the two-part apoxie, usually Magic Sculpt.  :)  It's super easy to use, and you don't have to be exact, as in weighing out each ball of apoxie to make sure it's equal.  I just decide how much I think I'll need for the next hour or so, and grab a half ball from each pail.

This is something I recently made with Magic Scupt.  Monster High base, sculpted wings, hair, base and mirror.  :)

I'm not a professional customizer, more of a dabbler, but I can answer from my limited experience.  :)

Do you sculpt before rehairing, or after?
I've done it both ways.  Mainly depends on how extensive and where I'm sculpting.  If you sculpt after rehairing, make sure the hair is wrapped and covered, so that your sculpting medium doesn't get on it.

What about painting?
If you're doing a whole body paint, I always rehair after painting.

Also, do you prefer apoxie to air-dry clay or vice versa?
Definitely apoxie sculpt.  I've tried fimo, air dry clay, fantastic plastic, etc. and apoxie sculpt has worked the best for me so far.

Ringlets:  Thank you, me too!  ^.^  I don’t like conflict and nearly all pony sellers I’ve met are awesome, super friendly people.  :-D    :grouphug:

Haruna:  Eep, I was honestly thinking of maybe selling some of my extra ponies (I have a 10 x 10 storage unit full and need to downsize :-S  ), but I don’t think I want to figure out ebay.  *head desk*   :stunned:

BlueRose9978:  We did, thank goodness.       I’d hate for the seller to be out any shipping charges, so I just let her know she could totally send it the cheapest way possible.  I have no problem waiting for ponies.   :newpony:

LittleSpiffy:  Makes sense.  :)  Thankfully I found the PonyFair, which is where I now buy most of my ponies.  Makes it so much easier on buyer and seller, and it’s the epitome of a pony buyer’s paradise.     :green:

Figured out.  Closing the topic.  :)

LittleSpiffy, as a seller, what do you do if the shipping is wrong and is more than what was stated in the auction?  :)    Do you absorb the cost or do you charge the extra to the buyer?  This is where my confusion comes in.  Lots of people have had issues where they are initially overcharged in an auction, but that cost was specified right from the start, and then sometimes they get a refund.  This is a case where I agreed to a shipping charge that was stated both in the ebay calculated shipping area and in the seller's description and then it was changed to a higher amount after the end of the auction via invoice.  It was also not due to combined shipping.

I've purchased hundreds of ponies in hundreds of ebay auctions since 2000, and I've never had an issue like this.
