They're beautiful. Sometimes my local shelter puts a stuffed animal in with newborns; they think it's their mom and like to snuggle up with it!

Off Topic / Do you wear a wristwatch? (Need interview!)
« on: November 03, 2012, 10:29:30 AM »
I am doing a project for a college class and need to interview "three diverse people." I already interviewed an 87-year-old neighbor and am now looking for someone in a foreign county (outside of the USA) as a second one and also possibly someone who is young (ages 8-13) as a third one. If anyone is willing to interview with me, please reply with your age and profession, and in a few hours I'll check back and see who I think my professor would be most happy with, LOL. :P Only other criteria is that you must have Skype or an Instant Messanger program so we can do the interview "face to  face" (so to speak).  The interview will take about 10 minutes. ;)

Thank you!!

Pony Corral / Strawberry Fair's Rehairing Service is Closing
« on: September 12, 2012, 06:39:55 PM »
After many wonderful years, I am closing Strawberry Fair’s Rehairing Business. Ponies were a very special part of my life for a long time, and after I stopped collecting, my rehairing business was a great way to stay part of the community. This fall, however, I decided to attend college full-time, and I simply do not have any time to keep up with it anymore. I have met so many AMAZING people and always received wonderful feedback about my work, and I am incredibly thankful to all of my customers who made it such a fantastic part of my life. Closing my business was not a decision that I made lightly.

I have a very large stock of Dollyhair that I will be selling. Please visit this thread to see the hair for sale.

Thank you again to everyone for their support and business over the years!

Lots of love,
Strawberry Fair (Alissa)

Don't "between two and five million" and "two to five million" have a similar meaning? So using "between" would make "to" (as in the original quote) redundant.
Ahhhh, that's an interesting observation! Any other thoughts about "to" verses "and"?

As far as the phrasing itself, THANK YOU to everyone for helping! I agree that "two to five million" works best!

How should this be written?

Between two- to five million birds

Should it be "between two million and five million?" Or "two and five million?" Or even "two- and five-million?"

Can't quite figure it out!

Just wanted to let you know that "Click here to see photos of my work!" doesn't go to anything. :)

Yeah, I'm working on that.

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that my rehairing service has moved!  I decided to switch over to a free hosting service (don't worry, it's ad-free!) so if you happen to have it bookmarked, please visit through >>> THIS LINK <<< and re-bookmark it!

Otherwise, if you simply type in the same address (www.mlprehairing.com) in the address bar, click on my signature, or type in a "Strawberry Fair's Rehairing Service" on Google, you will get to the new site just fine. ;)

Thank you for your continued business!

All the best,
Strawberry Fair :)

Wow - I'm not a fan of that pose, but if Hasbro had made her, I might have been! Stunning paintwork!

Customs / Phantom of the Opera: Erik & Christine (G1)

Just wanted to clarify that I am NOT closing my rehairing business (www.mlprehairing) - I am always open for business there! ;)

The last of my customizing! I have to concentrate on college so these are probably the last customs I will make. So bittersweet!

Erik and Christine were a work-in-progress for a long time (along with my other Broadway set!) I finally finished them this week. I'm fairly pleased with how they turned out, and sadly the photos do them no justice! Both are painted with Testors acylics and rehaired with high quality hair. Erik's display side has a beautiful red Apoxie rose, and Christine's display side features a beautifully sculpted mirror in gold leaf, accented with Swarovski crystals (display side had a pretty swirl of crystals, not pictured). The mirror is actually reflective, but Christine doesn't realize the cracks are foreshadowing a dark adventure ahead!

UPDATE: the pair has been sold :)

out of curiosity what did you use for the pole? it looks great
To be completely honest...I don't remember!  It was about a year ago that I went to Home Depot about bought something in the hardware section; I honestly think it was just a heavy-duty steel wire that I topped with some other piece of hardware!  :P
