Sorry I didn't update over the weekend. Sometimes this computer doesn't like photobucket. Babies are getting more fuzzy and cute. There are for sure 3 black baby females and one dove female, the rest male. Zumi is being a good mom. She's so funny the way she grabs them out of my hand when I give them back to her and hauls them back to the nest. I put them in a lined little dish when I take them out, but they are outgrowing it. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThe dove girl is my favorite visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login3 colors, I think the ones I thought were brown are black, that's hard to tell visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I'd just call him a capped, in pet store mismarked quality. Maybe blue agouti. Just a muttley mutt rat of the cutest variety.

I hate them. Absolutely hate them. I don't like being around people at theme parks. I don't even like the local festivals I used to like as a kid anymore. Now to me its a gathering of the local rednecks. I hated Disney when I was 12 and if Disney can't draw me in I'm guessing not many parks can. I don't like roller coasters either, maybe because my stepdad drove drunk with me and my sister in the car when we were kids so riding around in something that seems life threatening doesn't thrill me.

Holy Furby! I only have about 40-45. Jealous of your collection. My grail would be the Kid Cuisine furby. I have a giant furby stuffed animal that I think was a carnival prize. Have you come across any of the new ones broken yet? I'm afraid to try and fix them. I see the Furby 2005's a lot at the goodwill outlet but I only have one. I find them incredibly gross.

aww, he's a cute little scruffy guy. I wish free rats just walked up to my house (not the wild ones though please).

Gerbils don't come in albino, they are just white with pink eyes. The genetics for albino in gerbils is fatal I believe. They actually are an extreme dilute and their color works the same as a siamese cat's. Does your white gerbil have a slight shade to his tail? I don't know much about gerbil genetics but the white one is recessive. If you breed him to a gerbil who doesn't carry the right alleles you won't get white babies, but his babies will carry the right genetics to produce white babies of their own if bred to a gerbil with the right alleles.

I wonder how they traveled to a goodwill store in WI. Guess its like the random bag of Kinder Surprise egg toys I found at a different thrift store.

In some progressive countries, tanks this small are banned or considered animal cruelty. I wish it was like that everywhere. I bet after a few fish the parents who buy this will get sick of replacing them though.

Oh I know they'll start showing color at 4 days. I'm just already trying to guess what color the dad was based on the mom being black and what the litter looks like. I expect the 4 light eye babies will be white.

So I finally am getting around to posting a real thread about the mice I got and have talked about in the shoutbox. I missed having pet mice and decided to pick some up on Monday. They're from feeder tanks and a pet store that pretty much specializes in fish and reptiles. These guys don't have any handling at all. Sorry my pics are so bad but my camera is broke and only takes some good pictures in the dark, sometimes. First is a broken black and tan. He was the only one that really caught my eye. Its funny how fast mouse enthusiasts can change because I don't think broken tans were popular or bred for at all when I had mice year ago. I've been calling him Kip or Kippers, can't think of any better name atm. I am hand taming him slowly. I like to do so by getting them to run into a cardboard tube and them slowly dumping him into my hand for just a few seconds at a time. I have to find some treats to give him by hand. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginThe second was very pregnant when I got her. She's a self black or broken black, I'm not sure which color to call her, she has a few white specks around her belly. Her name is Zumi. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginBabies were born this morning. I intended to wait until after my half day of work to pull mom out and get a quick headcount and check of babies and then leave them be all weekend except to feed and water mom. Mice are great moms and usually don't reject their babies just for that in my experience. I'm so mad at my older sister right now. She's living with me for a while. She's 32 and has raised rabbits before so she should be familiar with bad small animal moms as rabbits are as bad as they come. I come home from work and she told me "You were right, she had babies!" She took the little mouse house out of the cage to see them and her dang cat was downstairs on the workbench sitting right next to the cage (cat's aren't allowed downstairs unless supervised). Poor mama mouse was running around the cage stressing out. So I just got a quick count and look over them and snapped 1 ok picture and put them back. Luckily she fixed her nest and pulled all her babies back into their little house and is acting fine now. I covered the sides of the tank and told my sister off good and said they aren't to be disturbed the rest of the weekend. I think my sister has gotten dumber over the years, maybe because she's had a concussion or two or maybe because I've matured faster than her now. Anyway. 13 babies! Friday the 13th/scary theme to names maybe? 9 dark eyes, 4 pink eyed and that's all I can tell right now. Thinking dad was albino possibly as I don't know and I doubt the store knows. They're small due to number of babies but even in size, no obvious runts. All have good milk bellies. Active and squeaky. I was prepared to keep a small litter of 7 indefinitely, but with 13 I think they will be needing some homes when they are old enough. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnd yes, I'm going to change back to hardwood litter now that I have mice. I had pine for the ferrets.

I hate vacuuming, but don't have to do it much at home. My job is cleaning so I have about 4 hours of vacuuming a night at work. I'd take all the bathrooms over vacuuming.
I hate folding laundry. The shirts I use the most are laying in a pile in the closet on top of a box. My clean socks are currently in their drawer unpaired together since I'd rather spend the time in the morning to grab two matching socks than go through and fold them together. Pants usually get a quick fold so they fit in the drawer but its no ocd straight good-looking folding they get.
I didn't pick yard work because I like working in my garden and landscaping, but I hate mowing and shoveling. Its too hard on me and I physically can't do a lot at once. You'd think pushing a lawn mower would be easy but it just must use the muscles that hurt due to costochondritis.

I chose "want her" since I'd like one of each G4 brushable. However, I don't like her colors and her symbol is too large for her body imo. She looks like she was designed by a 2-year-old. I'd probably hide her in the back of my G4 herd.
