Pony Corral / Re: Ponies in Eastern Europe? G1, G2, G3
« on: October 04, 2018, 04:49:21 PM »
I can't help much with the other countries, but in the early 90s I had relatives in Hungary send me ponies in the mail. I received a Baby Alphabet on an English language card with the normal comb, nothing unusual to note. The year after I received a Vanilla Treat (with proper accessories and the normal pamphlet) in an English language Hairdo Ponies box. The MIB Beautiful Bows on the Wiki is exact same box, I would assume it was a reject/error? Besides mountains of fakies and G2s when they came out, the only other pony of note they ever sent me (out of package) was a Baby Honeycomb.

Two more that I have are Tux n Tails and Baby Cuddles (who is also a strange shade of blue instead of green) who are both Made in China and came to me from the same Australian ebay lot. My normal ones are Hong Kong.

Are these the exact same versions as the 2000s re-releases? I would only be interested if they were different, love the box though!

Pony Corral / UK Musictime pat pending?
« on: July 16, 2017, 04:29:32 PM »
Haven't posted in ages, but I was just having a spa day with my backlog that has been piling up and had a question.

My old Musictime was purchased from the UK many years ago and the new one arrived in a lot of other things I bought this week from the UK as well. I was comparing which one to keep and I notice the new one has "pat pending" on one hoof but the new one I just got has a blank instead.  All other hooves match and I don't notice any real difference (except pat-pend has a lighter colored symbol), so is there any reason one has it and one doesn't? I looked online but don't see a real answer.

Update:
Well, here's another one apparently. My US purchased Sugar Apple has pat pending on a hoof, the UK one I just got in the same lot as Musictime is missing it.

Can I get the link too please?

Off Topic / Re: Figurine experts? Plush-style octopus statue ID needed

Ollie the Octopus!  :)  Uhhh someone else was asking about him as they had sticker sheets!

Do you recognize him then? I kept seeing a Ty Ollie the Octopus on google but the copyright on this is "DD" not Ty, plus they don't look the same at all. If you can find the sticker sheets I'd love to see them. :)

Off Topic / Figurine experts? Plush-style octopus statue ID needed

Hello!  :) I picked up this little weirdo at the flea market yesterday and am completely stumped trying to figure out what he is from online. He is a hard statue (next to a water bottle for scale), even though he looks like a plush. There is a fake "plush tag" on his back that says " (C) DD 2000" and under him it says "B/D (birthday?) 3rd Feb 99 Ollie". I've love to know more about this guy, or figure out if there are more figures in his line. Any help anyone has would be greatly appreciated.  :)

Price Check Archives / Re: Price Check: G3 Plush Prototypes
« on: June 28, 2016, 05:50:01 PM »
You know, I never even noticed the embroidered eyes.  :P I remember the normal Nanco ones being quite terrible compared to these ones, but I haven't seen one in years. I also believe I had a Butterscotch at some point but so far she hasn't surfaced.

I gotta dig Kimono out of the attic, but heres pics of the designers guide. I love the talk of a "movie", which never happened.

Hello! I'm going though and purging alot of G3 items I have. I was wondering if anyone knew what to ask for for these items. I got them from someone working on the line many years ago.

G3 Nanco Plush Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Sparkleworks. They are the Nanco style ponies attached the Hasbro yarn plush boxes. They all have real fluff filling instead of the styrofoam stuff that the real Nanco ponies got. Tags look like the normal yarn plush Hasbro tags.

G3 Nanco Sweetberry. I don't think this one ever got made? She has fluff instead of styrofoam instead, a gash on her foot (you can see the fluff coming out) and a prototype tag. I have a plush Kimono as well in the attic, same as this one. Not sure I'll part with her though...I really love Kimono.

I also have a folder with the G3 designer's guide somewhere. All the plush have some dirt on them from being in the attic. Any ideas on prices for these?
