Bump! After a week of eBay misses, I'd really appreciate anyone getting in touch from Canada and the EU

Many thanks!

What tune or album are you appreciating today? I want to hear what random music a load of My Little Pony fans like!

Here is mine...

[merging with like thread -kkat]
I'm shocked I found somebody who liked Pablo Honey. That album is alright but I like the bends or ok computer more.

I don't have a favorite song/album due to there being so much music out there. It's like choosing your favorite pony. There is some you really like but you don't have a favorite.

'It was just the album I was listening to that day but someone merged my 'tune or album of the day' thread with this one which is 'of all time'. I love OK computer as well but I like Pablo Honey because you can hear their influences more and in my own mind it kinda fits in better with the other albums I used to play over and over again... I was just on a nostalgia trip that day. Stop Whispering Start shouting is such a good pop song imho =)

I think Lavender Lace's hair looks pretty awesome in dreads, but I have straight hair though so that's just my opinion. Is her hair like Afro hair? I've never seen her in real life! I might try back combing it and teasing it into neater shapes or separatign them out a bit more but personally I wouldn't iron it. I think it's because it ironed hair looks less natural, it's not my favorite look.

OK going to add the Flower duet from Lakme as tune of the day...

Congrats on an epic find! I'm super jealous of all these people finding Mimics for cheap. I'm clearly in the wrong country for pony luck.

Yeh it's not great. I have tried charity shops in Cambridge in the last few weeks and poeple say they haven't seen any for a long time =(

I would love to own those dragon and bunny onesies for my baby Blossom. They are just the best. In fact, would be great to have access to patterns for some of those pony clothes I'm sure everyone could make them easily enough. SOOO CUUUUTE

Feast your eyes...

at the end of the day G1 ponies have had glue on their neck for the last 30 years or so :P

And it seems like only yesterday...

I think another experiment is called for, will let you know how it goes. Would be good to get together a list of UK brand products that people know work/are safe for restoration (Dawn Dish and Aleen's Tacky Glue can be bought from amazon over here but y'know). I have been reading the websites of people obsessed with valeting cars and boats and it's brought up some interesting ideas about looking after vinyl generally, I also have a contact at the V&A so I might try there :wonder:

I'm wondering do people in the USA get the same extra charges and things if we ship to them?

I got charged the £8 fee for three ponies from the USA on top of an order totalling £29.80. I got Glory, Windy and Parasol, none of which I owned at the time but for relatively common ponies £36.80 is pretty steep. They were in a disgusting state... Windy is restored OK no problems, Parasol is pretty good but Glory has a tail rust stain that won 't shift. Has been a lot of effort and money so I've decided just not to buy from the US any more. The sellers are just as canny as anywhere else so with the shipping and charges it's almost impossible to get a bargain. I really want the Year 3 rainbows with sparkle symbols (Tickle, Flutterbye, Star Flower, Trickles) but I think I'm going to give up for now and concentrate on the Euro ponies. I picked up Sweetheart and Music Time for just under £20 inc postage this week and I'm happy with that. Ebay is OK if you're careful but I want to get started on the Arena soon instead!

It's really great to see so many replies to the poll. Now I'm wondering about Aleene's tacky glue. Some heads don't sit that well without glue even though not damaged  so I'm tempted to give it a go.

What I'd like to know is, how hard is it to get heads back off again if you seal them with this stuff? I imagine it's fairly easy with hot water? If so it might be a good option.

But is it truly archival? Everyone recommends it but how long have the community been using it? Does it ever soften and go sticky again or cause discoloration?

Nice one!

Here is the chemical definition of cream of tartar, should make it easier for anyone to find...

http://chemistry.about.com/od/foodcookingchemistry/a/Cream-Of-Tartar.htm

By the way I saw this stuff for whitening nails the other day, it has bicarb and makes a fizzy HPO solution when you dissolve it. I'm going to try that on poor long suffering Majesty's Ugly Twin, who has become a bit of a lab rat but is still beautiful to me =)

Thanks spotted slug, I see what's happened now! Yes it's not the same thing at all! My favorite song of all time is the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah  I actually just thing it's the best song ever written. Probably a weird choice. Just listen and have a giggle or try it nearer Christmas =)
