Off Topic / Re: Your worst work story!

Some of these stories!

A lot of mine aren't ones I should share - either because of my boss's virulent racism or the fact that bullying in the workplace is just depressing to remember.

But there was one... For a brief bizarre period I worked for a landscaping company that was the Worst Company Ever.

I was his 'secretary' which meant I scheduled their jobs and time sheets and carried a cellphone around to answer for him. He expected me to work 9-5 and only wanted to pay me 3 hours a day and implied heavily I was being greedy when I wanted paid actual time scheduled.

Okay, so during this job:

He was actually fully scheduled with no room for new clients for at least four months. I was under orders to tell anyone who phoned that he would get to them immediately. The same people would phone every day, getting increasingly freaked out. I am pretty sure my soul is tarnished from that, even if I did HEAVILY IMPLY if it was incredibly important it be done that weekend for a wedding they might want to find someone else.

He insulted me for 'driving like a girl' whatever that means.

He told me gas would be paid for because he lived thirty minutes away from me and wanted to come over every day. Eventually he said only if I went to this one specific station he didn't tell me about for weeks and even then it didn't work.

I was collecting the timesheets and came across him yelling curses at his cellphone. It turned out that the bank had denied him a loan to pay us and that was his response.

He was ranting at me one day for something very trivial, like being unable to get him to pick up when I had a message for him. I can't quite remember. But what I do remember was going 'aaaand I think I quit'

He didn't pay me for my last two weeks of work.

I love it! I just finished season 6, I think. For some reason Netflix labels them 1-3 even though they're the later part of the series.

It's so interesting for me, as a Canadian, to see period clothes and hear Canadian accents instead of the usual English ones.

I'm also keeping a mental tally of all the things Murdoch somehow invents.

I'd love to grow tulips and daffodils at our new house but I doubt it's in the cards.

I collect minifigs! I used to put them all on display on my desk, but ran out of space - then I started my lego city and now I use them as citizens in it. The city is sort of based off Paragon City from a game I played, which had themed superpowered gangs, so everytime I get a bunch of doubles or triples, they become a new gang.

The Tarzan ones are called the Urban Savages and I have a group of them mugging a nerd figure behind Wonder Woman on a bench right now, for an idea.

They're so cute!

Part of the reason for their little beaky mouths and the very different body types and faces on the males (you'll notice a lot of variety in them, both in the face and body) is that female characters have a lot of pressure (from a design perspective) to be 'cute' and that really restricts the differences you can do with them, if that's the only thing you're aiming for.

That's why it's so unusual to see comicbook and disney type girls with difference faces other than hairstyle and colouring. Rarely are there grecian noses, chubbier faces, square jaws, etc.

Makes for an easy and consistent toy mold tho'

Polite has the rose symbol, not Perfect.  The Wikipedia article states the following:

Quote
The twins have black and white patched fur. Perfect Panda has a gold star with a ribbon on his tummy, while Polite Panda has a pink rose with a ribbon on her tummy.

And to cross reference (one of the largest CB websites):

I also have a Perfect Panda, because her symbol is a rose and I deserve things with roses on them.

Wasn't Polite Panda the one with the rose symbol, and Perfect was her brother with the star symbol? That was one of my favorite episodes of the old cartoon.  ^.^ :nerdy:

I wasn't sure before I posted, so I checked and at least wikipedia says that Perfect is the rose one. I do also have Polite, but he's technically my brother's, he just lives on my shelf.

Oh, and right now I'm playing Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis! It's an old Lucasarts game that's a point and click adventure.

It made me feed a capybara to a snake. This game is a monster.

Oh man, I had an Indiana Jones point and click adventure game!  Nostalgia!  I think it was a different one, though.

I have another one, The Last Crusade but I'm sure there must have been others.

Yup. My Allosaurus busted loose and ate all my guests.....Well.....Not all....But alot. Turns out you can't pick them up while they are eating guests so there wasn't much to be done. Oh well. They were annoying guests anyway. Though using Alfred Hitchcock's birds to chase all 1000 guests out of the zoo because they were all annoyed that the zoo was "too crowded" was great fun. Then I had giant birds flying around the zoo for the rest of the scenario. It was awesome.

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

Zoo Tycoon.

Zoo Tycoon is the best. I play 2 these days, but I remember during 1 you had to constantly maintain the fences or the dinosaurs would escape and eat your guests.

I had a lot of dead guests.

I was negligent.

I'm sorry, to their families and to the people who counted on me,
