Agreed! The Animator Dolls seem to have more detailed faces and lovely, large eyes.

The noses on the Small World dolls remind me of the Puzzle Place puppets, lol.

Same here, I only see the first wave at TRU and they are never restocked.

I know someone mentioned MGA saying they were discontinued but they they refuted that but it sure looks that way in the stores. No one is getting the next set in and you see a few popping up at Ross. Whether they are cancelled or not, it doesn't look like retailers will continue to carry them. At least around here.

I am still looking for Mimi and Vera but I rarely see them on ebay or Amazon under the $30-40 mark.

Cute pics! I don't have any of mine right now but I think they are soo pretty.

I loved that LIV dolls were so poseable and had glass eyes but their proportions totally bother me, so seeing these long-legged Moxies were perfect! I just wish they had more clothes. I wonder if there are any other collector dolls of a similiar size to get clothes from?

I regret not grabbing them when they were clearing them out but the price was still tough to be buying all the ones they had, lol.  ^.^

Oh yes! That freakin' $15 sale!

I was looking at Sleeping Beauty in her Briar Rose dress, Snow White, and the Frozen girls, but yeah, they've got to be part of that sale sooner or later when the demand cools down.

Does anyone like the Small World dolls?
I think they are interesting and I know I would've loved the French one and the Hawaiian one as a kid.

Wow! How cool to find them in a store!  ^.^

I regret not grabbing those roller skates girls when they were in stores.

I think the My Scenes are very cute. I think the bigger faces are a great compromise between Barbie and Bratz. And they had Barbie feet but could slip into clunky 90s/2000s shoes like the Bratz.

Wow! I had no idea those exclusives were that tall!  How cool!

Awww that Tink is so cute. I hope they expand the Animators line.....or...or maybe I don't  :lookround: *hideswalletfrommyself*

I would love to see how an Esmeralda would look as an Animator doll. I have been resisting the Anna and Elsa Animator dolls but I keep stopping by just to look at them anytime I'm near the Disney Store, lol.
Part of me feels weird because they are "baby dolls" and I don't really collect them, but I caved and bought Ariel and Pocahontas because I couldn't resist anything with that much hair! Roflmao.

It's exciting to see the new zelfs! Thanks for sharing the pics!

I'm not sure how I feel about the reissues, I guess I will have to see them in person to see how different they are.

But I won't lie, I was really hoping that the new line would all have gems since the rare one seemed to be ruby themed.

Wow those dolls are crazy!
One of each?!
I'm not familiar with those dolls, I'm curious to know how tall are they?

I love catching up on this thread! I have been drooling over the LE Frozen girls. Ugh, there's no way to justify their ebay prices though. I wish I had been on the ball about knowing they were coming out.

Are there any other places to check? I've tried Craigslist, but no luck.

Awwww, I remember those, I had the mermaid and the make-up one I believe.
I don't have them anymore but I certainly adored them as a kid. I tried to replace the mermaid at one point but it's hard to find one that wasn't destroyed from being placed in water, lol.

I totally agree, and I don't think it's just for the holidays.

It seems the last two years it's been climbing, perhaps with the giant influx of new fans.
I am constantly disappointed over prices on many venues, not just eBay.
And, no, I don't consider myself a cheapskate  I have paid well over what a pony is worth if it matches my expectations, so I don't necessarily subscribe to the idea that everything must be sold at rock solid prices.

The thing that drives me nuts with the arguement that "no one is buying at those prices" is that they still affect the market. If you constantly see a specific pony listed at a ridiculous BIN price, and everyone else price checks against other matching items on eBay, then all of a sudden a $20 pony that is constantly being relisted at $30 doesn't look like such a bad price (especially to people not familiar with pricing).
It drives the market up and up by default.

Pony Corral / Re: Hasbro Makes it Hard to be an adult MLP Collector
« on: October 28, 2013, 07:46:10 AM »
This is definitely an interesting topic and one I've been thinking about for some time.

I agree with the sentiment that I don't necessarily need a special adult collector pony. It's most likely going to be a G4 fan favorite anyways which I don't have much interest in. I am grateful that the G4 brushable line doesn't exactly match the show look too significantly so they still look like "just ponies" to me.

But I do think the huge runs of the same character is stiffling. I don't mind that Hasbro wants the core group on the shelves but it'd be wonderful for kids and adults to have different ponies on the shelf alongside them. It's always disappointing to browse the toy aisles for months and see only 6 ponies being re-released and perhaps one (Sunshimmer) thrown in as a side note.

I have to say I even prefer the "Bore 7" to the current selection of ponies. At least when they re-released characters they would add leg fading, extra symbol details, a theme of some kind. But these new G4s are so tiny that when something is re-released there is barely any difference between the other releases, making it hard to justify purchasing essentially the same pony again.

I fully understand the bottom line is money. It costs more to develop, design, and produce more characters, especially if they can presently justify not soing so with all the new MLP line collectors. Why spend more money when you can "skate by"?
But my answer to that would be to keep a line, that has an immensely successful head start, going strong. Ponies are to play with (child or adult) and having more ponies promotes imaginative play to make up *your own* personalities for them rather than the canned personalities they give the show characters.

This will never happen but I just wanted to share, I'm of the opinion that they should re-launch the G1 line but with a new sculpt. Get a great designer to "update" their look but stay true to those big thoughtful eyes, decent sized snouts, and round bottoms! Lol!

So I guess in conclusion, more ponies please! More experimentation! G1 and G3 variety s'il vous plait!

Sorry to hear you guys missed out on Ariel  Ten Minutes! :dizzy:
I didn't even try due to money and I knew it would just frustrate me  :lookround:

Can someone tell me if the Disney Store version of the Frozen dolls have the current rubber legs or are they jointed? I keep trying to peek under their dresses but no luck.
