Wow! Your customs are amazing! I LOVE seeing people doing G1 -> G4 and G4 -> G1, and you've done both so awesomely!

I especially was happy to see bubbles in G4 style. She's one of my childhood ponies! And Holly Dash is one of my "dream ponies".. I had no idea how cute she looks with a G1 body style!

All of the newborns are SUPER cute, too! Keep up the great work...and make sure to keep sharing it!

Pony Corral / Re: The dreaded burnout....

There's nothing with taking breaks from hobbies for a while. If you force yourself to keep collecting even when you're sick of something, you might get tired and quit altogether. I cycle through hobbies quickly myself, and taking a break for a few weeks or even  a month or two can fix the burnout feeling.

Of course, you can always check on arena from time to time, or chat in off-topic...but don't force yourself to a hobby if you need some time off! Do what's fun--that's what hobbies are about! :)

Snapdragon:

Pinkie pie's face in your signature matches the face I made when I saw your ponies! So many cutie pies!

They've all got so much personality, and I find myself giving them all little stories! I especially love the very 80s outfits, and I could see that punky pony in a band! Thank you so much for sharing! You take great photos!

These "eye-wonk" ponies are killing me!  :silly:

I don't have any factory-quirk ponies that I know of, but now when I get around to spa day(s), I'm definitely going to be paying extra close attention for any unique characteristics, lol!

I do have a lot of ponies who have been "extra loved" with haircuts, and a Princess Royal Blue with a bit of a chip in one ear...things like that. But that's it. I can't wait to see more examples of other people's quirky ponies, this is such a cute and fun thread idea!

I'm glad you like the thread!  I hope to see more quirky ponies too!

Spa day sounds like something I need to do for a lot of my ponies...I started redoing hairdos on a few, but I need to give some of them a thorough bath :P

Sad to say I don't have any interesting quirky "error" ponies. I think the closest thing I have is a G1 newborn with her symbol missing on the right side-- I don't think it was rubbed off as the rest of her looks fine, it seems to have never been there.

I do have a Lucky that looks like the unluckiest pony ever! Mohawk, beat up and chewed, age spots... I think he's absolutely precious the way that he is. :P
I kinda wish g4s had symbols on both sides...that way, you could display them from either side. It sounds like your g1 newborn was ahead of her time! ;)

Well-loved ponies are the best! It sounds like Lucky is lucky to have someone who played with him so much :) Sometimes I look at my childhood toys and wonder why I didn't take better care of them....but I guess toddler me showed my love for my plastic animals by gnawing on their feet. :P

Here's my famous lemony gem blindbag!

It still amazes me that I didn't notice for months that she had an issue, especially one so obvious XD I just now noticed that she has eyelashes misprinted on her hair too! I just don't know what went wrong with this girl lol!!!

oh my goodness  She reminds me of a picasso portrait!  I've only bought 2 blind bags, but they both were pretty standard. I can only imagine how funny it was to finally notice that misprint! thanks for sharing :)

Today I received a G4 CMM Sweetie Drops in the mail, and I was super excited because she's impossible to find in stores in the US (at least where I live)! As an added bonus, she wasn't loose and came with her little charm necklace.

But then I noticed her eye decals were a slightly misaligned--a little quirk I like to call "eye wonk". Luckily, she's in good company: the very first G4 earth pony I ever got, Cheerliee, also has a bit of a misplaced eye. Here's a picture of them next to a cheapo rainbow dash for comparison.

At first, these kinds of factory hiccups annoyed me, but I think it adds a bit of character and they've become endearing traits. :)

Do any of you have ponies with little quirks that you have a soft spot for? Chewed-off legs, chopped off hair, gel pen victims, fellow eye-wonkees, etcetera? I'd love to see them! Quirky ponies need love too!

Pony Corral / Re: Prototype or Really Good Fakie? G4 CMM Trixie
« on: November 12, 2015, 01:17:05 PM »
Hmm. She looks like a actors reject to me. How good is her hair quality compared to your officially released ponies? Does it all come out when you brush it?

Either way, I like her better without the code :o

Her hair is about on-par with regular toys. It's held up to my brushing and styling quite well!

Your Trixie's real :P I ordered Coco from ebay too and she doesn't have her zapcode :P (I honestly prefer them codeless, since i'm just gonna end up wiping off the code thing anyways with acetone...)

Haha, I agree. Are they releasing a normal sized coco? I've only seen the fashion style one. (I dont keep up with pony news....eheh)

Probably prototype.  How is the weight?  Does it feel like light weight plastic? holly? or about the same weight as a regular g4?  Besides being lighter, fakie plastic usually feels brittle and hard, but real G4s have bend to them.

Her plastic is pretty good, I think. I'm comparing her to a legit one and the two are about the same weight. Her head is a little firm, but the body has a fair amount of give. I'm thinking she's a prototype as well, based on what you've told me. Thanks!

Whoa! I've never seen a pony with that kind of color scheme before. I really like it! She looks like a really cute alien pony to me, especially with the tinsel hair. Or maybe she just loves astronomy and partying :P Either way, I'd welcome her to my shelf!

Pony Corral / Prototype or Really Good Fakie? G4 CMM Trixie
« on: November 11, 2015, 06:29:14 AM »
Hello everyone! It's been a while. :)

So a few months back, I picked up a Trixie Lulamoon from Ebay. I'm not fond of Trixie in the show, but I love her color scheme and wanted her to break up all the pink in my pony shelf :P

Just about a half hour ago, I went on ebay with the search term "my little pony knockoff" to see what kinds of fakies were out there, and sure enough, my trixie was in the results! Knowing how search engines work, though, I was curious if it just picked up "my little pony" and not the "knockoff" part, so I did some googling to see Trixie's releases.

The only thing I found that resembled mine was a Cutie Mark Magic Trixie with 3 breezies that I haven't seen in the States (I only ever see Fluttershy or Twilight), and I don't even know if it's been released yet! (pic of that below).

As you can probably see, this Trixie has one of those heart-shaped stamps (QR codes?) on her front left foot. Mine doesn't. But she has a serial number and hasbro stamps and such on the bottom of her hooves. (here's some pics of her under the cut)

I consider myself a pony newbie, so I'm not really an expert on spotting good fakies or "prototypes" or weird variants. I'm not even sure if this pony has any! Do any of you know if she's fake or real? Please let me know!

I still like her either way, but I'd just like to know if I ever want to sell her :P Thanks for reading!

Ooh!! I know where I want to go! :) It looks super cute there! I love that the decor seems mostly G1-themed. I collect mainly G4, but something about G1's art style is really charming. Super jealous!

Thank you everyone for the nice feedback!  ^.^

@buddyboymama - Thanks! That IS a BNG Bouquet! She's my avatar, as well! I love bouquet. I didn't know that she was a brush n' grow (let alone what a brush n' grow was) when I found her in my basement. I was super excited to find that her tail grew! As such, she's one of my favorites in my whole collection.

I'm at it again and today I got even MORE ponies...a cutie mark magic Rainbow Dash and a Nurse Redheart!

I was super excited to find the latter. I got one for my sister 2 years ago as a get-well gift for a surgery she had. I got into MLP and suddenly coveted it. I was certain they were out of production, but I found one at a local Walgreens! Hooray!
