Pony Corral / Re: What Makes You Lose Interest In Ponies? . . .
« on: January 18, 2015, 06:34:43 PM »
G4  obviously is the incredible lack of variety, though I do still buy the blind bags when I find a new wave. In general though my decreased cruising of ebay is due to a desire to  move and reduce the amount of stuff I have and not keep adding to my pile by buying more ponies. Other factors  are personal debts to pay off, the ponies I don't have from US line tend to go for more than I want to pay, a feeling of ' what's the point since I just put them in storage boxes when i get them'  I don't have the space to display many ponies at once anymore.

I tend to take long hiatuses from the arena too whenever my collecting desire declines. Thrift stores are disappointing too, I'm shocked if I find a pony from any gen at any of my area thrift shops, when I do find anything it tends to be a  McD that i don't want anyway -_-

Pony Brag Arena / Craigslist brag
« on: August 30, 2014, 02:40:18 PM »
This is from a some months ago, but I never got around to posting it. I was checking Craigslist for ponies a lot for a while and found a small lot for $10 with Spunky, Birthflower, Skydancer, tailless Peachy and Baby TicTacToe in it. The seller agreed to mail it to me ( yay!) and later told me she's throw in two more ponies she found (more yay!)

I thought  ' it would be so cool if there was a rare pony in the box '
When it arrived the mystery ponies where Baby Blossom & Baby Crumpet!! Oh my gosh I was so excited! Not exactly 'rare', but I didn't have her and wanted her so I was pretty jazzed and happy with my new group of ponies =)

Pony Corral / Re: Thrift store shoppers, question for you
« on: August 24, 2014, 11:24:35 PM »
One of the thrift stores I go to recently switched over to bagging all the small toys. They seem to try to  bag similar items together. I will see 2 or 3 G3's and a McD's pony in one bag. Back in the day when I'd find G1's at this particular store I was sometimes able to talk to pricers into taking out just the pony from a bag and pricing it so I wouldn't have a buy a whole bag of junk I didn't want. I hardly ever see G1's in  my local thrift stores anymore sadly. I've been to a number of other  stores that just seem to grab a handful of toys and shove it in as bag.

It really seems like thrift stores don't want to bother having loose toys and pricing every single thing.

I bought your rehair Skyflier for my army.. and I gotta say, I think I like the hair colors you gave her more than her original hair color =)

 thanks everyone. She definitely looks good in pictures but of course in person I just kept going
' hmm... messy strawberries'  :P

Hopefully my swap partner likes her just as much as the rest of ya.

Customs / Shy pose Sugarberry
« on: August 10, 2014, 09:35:35 PM »
So I think this counts as the 2nd custom I have ever done. I made her for the Make A Wish List Swap. I feared rehairing a mane would drive me bonkers since I didn't have a rehairing tool. But between using long needle-nose pliers , big needles and heavy duty thread it went a lot faster than I thought it would.  Her symbols and eyes are faaaaaaar from prefect.

I used a G1 taf sundance I had around and I guess since I was making a custom for someone else I didn't have as much of a problem as I normally would with stripping a G1 of her hair and symbols.

As my 2nd g1 custom I'm pretty happy with her even though she was kind of a rush job. I also swear I took some pictures of her with regular Sugarberry, but they have disappeared  /sigh

Off Topic / Breyer Horse boxes, worth keeping?
« on: July 12, 2014, 10:55:01 PM »
So I'm wondering if  anyone thinks it's worth keeping  Breyer boxes from horses that were mainly purchased in the 90's. The large window box style. Some with stickers that were year special editions.

I have a big pile that I'm considering getting rid of unless anyone thinks that keeping the boxes somehow would add any value to the horses if I sell  what I still have.

Trader & Shipping Support / Dollyhair shipping speed?
« on: July 01, 2014, 07:45:05 PM »
Could someone tell me how quickly Dollyhair generally gets orders shipped?  I'm trying to see if I have time  to order hair and have it arrive with time to work on a pony.

~Thanks

Off Topic / Re: Any roleplayers out there? (D&D, Pathfinder, Blogs)
« on: June 24, 2014, 07:09:27 PM »
I wanted to try getting into Pathfinder last year, but couldn't really figure out how to start so I kinda abandoned it. I've never played a tabletop role pay before but am still kinda interested in it. I've a tendency toward being a healer from my days of being a white mage in ff11.

Off Topic / Geochaching, has anyone tried it?
« on: June 24, 2014, 04:17:41 PM »
A friend and I did geocaching once a couple years ago. Just a real beginners cache, back in the day before I had a smart phone with GPS. It was kinda fun tho we felt a little silly when we finally spotted it since we'd been walking around it for about 40 mins. I haven't' really tried doing  it again even though there are suppose to be caches pretty close to where I live.

I took a blue marble from the beginners cache and replaced it with a whistle.

If anyone else has tried geocaching what level did you do and what did you find / exchange?
