Technically, on eBay you only have to wait four days before you can file a non paying bidder report.

They changed this to two days recently.

Personally, I file an unpaid item report if it isnt paid for within those 2 days. That gives them an extra 4 days to pay. Then ebay refunds my fees and I can do a second chance offer or relist it.

When I told him what the eBay worker said, he was shocked. That is like, if you reported someone shoplifting and they said something like "So what, it wasn't something expensive?".

That has actually happened to me. I reported people stealing fountain drinks at work, and my department manager was like "Well, they don't really cost that much..." And then people started threatening to mess up my car O.O I guess people take their soda seriously around here.

Trader & Shipping Support / Being harassed on eBay! Another update!
« on: May 16, 2013, 05:28:43 PM »
I opened every auction bucksnut had won except for the couple legit ones, and reported them all for shill bidding. Then I also reported every live auction that yet had bid on also.

I really hope eBay is just wading through a ton of reports and not that they are ignoring this.

I have been made to understand that Tracking does NOT equal proof of delivery. You need delivery confirmation which consists of a signature. If they have to sign to pick it up, then you have proof they got it.

Now, I have no idea if a tracking number alone is sufficient for paypal. I have seen incidents in the past where someone says "The tracking number shows it is delivered." But the other person says "Well, I didn't get it." and Paypal will just refund that money to the second person, but NOT take it away from the sender because the sender had tracking.

Everything is so much easier to do inside the USA, but selling outside the USA really opens up a bigger customer base.

That same bidder has won her other auctions multiple times also.. I wanted to report her but I can't figure out how to report her for shill bidding. :(

I think you can only report it when the auction is still going. Basically there is a small little link that says "Report item" over to the right. Then you can use the drop down list to say shill bidding.

I feel dumb.. Because I am doing that, and SHill Bidding is not listed.

Nevermind. Found it. Fraudulent Listing Activities.

That's weird! So far all I've got is a confirmation email and no replies to my emails. I just hope my hair is on its way.

Just keep an eye on your 45 day limit to file a claim with paypal.

Unfortunately "First Class" Seems to be American for "We'll see what happens..." It is the cheapest shipping option for a reason. :(

Fingers crossed for your other packages! And mine too!

Oh...I see
Thats crazy! In the UK first class is the most expensive option just under recorded (tracked) airsure and international signed for!
Whats the point of first class if it isnt faster then second? Ah no logic!

See, We don't have any other form of postage ranked as a class. When it comes to shipping overseas, In order of Best to Worst we have:

Expedited
Priority
First Class

And Priority is WAY more expensive than first class. Which is why people choose it.

A 1lb package from the USA to Australia, for example, has the following shipping prices:

Express: $54.35
Priority: $39.95
First Class: $16.75

So when the contents are on the cheap side, people often balk at adding $55 to the price of their $10 toy. :( And Express is the only option that provides tracking and insurance starts with Priority..

However, Im STILL waiting on a US package!! It was sent March 19th! Its well over like 50 days now! Im actually pretty annoyed...I paid for first class what a joke! Im actually considering saying something....should I?

I was wondering if any of these have showed up? I think the one I shipped has still not arrived as of this point nd it's getting close to the 45 day mark :(

Customs / Re: rehairing tool/needle size help please
« on: May 08, 2013, 07:45:01 PM »
You want to use tapestry needles; they have big eyes :) I made my own.
Maniah sells them, but I messaged her recently and she said she is unable to make more atm.

Hey, just stumbled across this and it reminded me that I needed to open my shop back up! I'm currently able to cut needles again and make tools :) I'd had carpal tunnel surgery last month, and had a busy schedule in general, but as of today I am officially selling tools and spare needles again.

Thank you for your patience to all who had PMd or emailed me! :)

How odd. I have started my account in California and didnt use it for about 5 years, then moved to arkansas and started using it again and had no problems. :( I hope eBay shuts this person down before they can scam anyone. If they are legit they should just call Paypal and work things out no matter how difficult.

That's how I'm reading it. Remove it from the internets or pay money to ONE company to have it registered.

But this decision comes from the UK.. So does it mean only UK business can do it?

I'm so confused, yet terrified on behalf of artists everywhere.

The Dollhouse / For the serious photographers and artists in general

Here is an excerpt of the above link

Quote
Previously, and in most of the world today, ownership of your creation is automatic, and legally considered to be an individual's property. That's enshrined in the Berne Convention and other international treaties, where it's considered to be a basic human right. What this means in practice is that you can go after somebody who exploits it without your permission - even if pursuing them is cumbersome and expensive.

The UK coalition government's new law reverses this human right. When last year Instagram attempted to do something similar, it met a furious backlash. But the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act has sailed through without most amateurs or semi-professionals even realising the consequences.

The Act contains changes to UK copyright law which permit the commercial exploitation of images where information identifying the owner is missing, so-called "orphan works", by placing the work into what's known as "extended collective licensing" schemes. Since most digital images on the internet today are orphans - the metadata is missing or has been stripped by a large organization - millions of photographs and illustrations are swept into such schemes.

Im honestly not sure how this all will affect people, since this has just happened, and since I don't live in the UK.. But I think it's worth noting.

Since I know of a few people here to do serious or semi serious photography or artwork, I thought It might be something you would want to read. Especially if you have been on the fence about watermarks and how you use them.

The Dollhouse / Re: Ravie's Reroots
« on: April 28, 2013, 01:53:14 PM »
Ravie, I love the mix of hair that you used for this Rochelle. But it's so difficult to see the whole picture when it's so big. I mean that eye sees a beautiful mix of the hair, but can't see how it suits to the doll. For example on this size of picture is easier to see. This way I see Rochelle with new hair, not only hair

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I guess we all have our preferences. I personally love seeing the large pictures. A reroot is the main focus of the picture, so I want to see the colors in all their detailed glory. Especially if the blend is as subtle and stunning as this one is. The small pictures loses half of the colors.
