It is only 3 inches in diameter, so pretty small, it is sealed around the edge and dome. Will neat to see some day what the other piece or pieces are for it! Ha ha, no I am thinking the straw was attached/molded to the side of the cup, and the topper sat on top of the cup, when you suck through the straw it creates a downward suction in the cup causing the ponies to spin or something like that. I remember other characters, I think there was Mikey one, don't remember a pony one. But maybe a fast food promotion?
Or like you said maybe it had base maybe that some how caused it to spin, has something to do with the black seal around where the holes are.
Reanna-mator I know what you mean, I find the oddest things, this was in some stuff my mom bought me, and only 3" in diameter.

Hey, I got this for my B-day and at first I though snowglobe, but realized what I though was a plug was not removable, and it has 4 small holes above it and one slanted in the plastic top. The ponies are also on a axle and spin. So now I am thinking maybe it was one of those cups with molded straw and as you drank the suction caused the ponies to spin? Anyone have one or pictures of one? Or any other ideas as to what it could be? I have unscented fabric softener (downy) do you think it would work?
The head is off the merry go round one I cleaned inside so I just filled her 3/4 of the way with fabreeze to see if it would work at all!? I am trying to get everyone washed well before the fair so they have lots of drying and airing out time time!

OO, I will try this on a lot I got, they have been airing out for a couple weeks and still smell heavily of smoke and spices, almost like they were marinaded in Indian food type spices. I have had some smelly ponies before but I can smell these before I walk in the kitchen it is so bad!
Oh and they have already been washed throughly with soft scrub with bleach and hot soapy water too?!

Thank you all for the help, I actually called ebay just to make sure I was fully covered, but they turned down my offer, and that is just to much. I wish them luck in the current economy and with 0 feedback.  The bad Spain sellers, do we have known cities for them so we can watch for them?

I have seen some stuck before, I think it happens when moister gets in it. If that is the case not sure how you could easily dry it out without damaging it. Maybe put it in a bowl of rice like you do with wet cell phones?
