I keep the backcards from my ponies if they have stories or nice art on them. I'm not sure about them increasing the value of the ponies, but some auctions on Ebay seem to go higher for nice ponies with comb/backcard, etc.

I'm not a customizer, but as far as I've heard, when rerooting it you just mix a few strands into each plug and then do it as you would normally. I think if you pull too hard the tinsel will stretch and/or break.
My Little Customs has tinsel listed on their website, and it looks to be a pretty good match for pony tinsel. The best color for Starflash would probably be the dark pink --> http://www.mylittlecustoms.co.uk/Tinsel/cat635041_1144001.aspx

Blue hearts Dazzleglow for $1.30 and mint Seawinkle with her shell/ribbon for $2.

I've found around 100 G1s/G3s/G4s in various thrift stores and garage sales in the past three years.

Mine were both G3s. My first was Kimono with the Charming Birthday video when I was four, and the last in this time period was Tangerine Twinkle a few years later. I tried to get back into it during the Core 7 years, and got a Sweetie Belle, but I lost my enthusiasm until G4 begin in 2010. All these ponies still safely remain in my herd <3

Hi! I'm a longtime lurker on the Arena, but I haven't made an account until recently. I'm 15 now, and have been keeping up with the pony news on this site and the MLPTP since I was ~10ish. I'm from Salem, Oregon (or So-Lame Oregon.)
I personally collect all the generations of ponies, and have been doing so since I was 3. I was a spoiled child, and that led to a full-blown pony addiction.
My cat loves to play with ponies with me (mainly batting them out of my hands as I brush their hair), and my family and friends are very supportive of my large collection. I'm excited to be here, so good day to you all, I hope we get along!
