Tinsel? o.O

Hi all!

It's been ages since I posted something in this part of the arena, but I'm again back on my hoofs and ready to restore some sweet ponies! ^^

I need some help with an element I normally don't use at all. TINSEL.

How do you reroot it? Does it break a lot?

Also, I need a color match. I'm going to restore Glittery Sweetheart Sister Starflash and I'm not sure what color tinsel she has. Any tips?

I'm not a customizer, but as far as I've heard, when rerooting it you just mix a few strands into each plug and then do it as you would normally. I think if you pull too hard the tinsel will stretch and/or break.
My Little Customs has tinsel listed on their website, and it looks to be a pretty good match for pony tinsel. The best color for Starflash would probably be the dark pink --> http://www.mylittlecustoms.co.uk/Tinsel/cat635041_1144001.aspx

I root the nylon first and then follow it up with the tinsel. I use one strand of tinsel per plug, which I fold in half and jab in with my rooting tool as per usual.

I use Gutterman Sulky thread and don't usually have any issues with it breaking.

I have used tinsel from Retrodolls US before an never had breakage problems! I also root nylon then tinsel over top!
