Wanted! / Wanted List for Pineapplecupcake

Right now I am in search of a Vanilla Treat (G1, white pony with yellow hair and birthday cake cutie mark) to finish off my collection of cookery ponies! Let me know if you have one, I am not particularly picky about condition although would prefer if at least one side has a good symbol.

Hi everyone!

I'm back to the arena and collecting after being out of the hobby for a couple years! I'm 32 and live in Seattle, I work as a software developer but am also an opera singer

As a kid I LOVED the G1 My Little Ponies - they were always some of my favorite toys and I still have my childhood collection (somewhere in storage rafters, I am working on getting them out so I can display them!). My family travelled a lot so as a kid I had a mix of US and UK stuff. I also have a very small and tattered collection of MLP comics from G1, which I read a million times over as a kid.

My favorite memory of childhood ponies is playing with my grandma's collection - she would shop at thrift stores in town to find them for me and my cousins. She had a huge collection that unfortunately we no longer have (which I am super sad about because she had some of the TAF babies and blue hearts version of Dazzleglow!). I am recollecting my favorites from her collection and also on the search for ones that I didn't have as a kid that I think are beautiful.

My sister and I are 5 years apart, so she grew up with the G2s and we also have a small collection of those. I somehow never got into G3 but got back into the collecting hobby when G4 started up. I actually found out about the show from a roommate who was a brony! I have a small collection of G4 brushables, which are super cute. G1s are still my favorite though

Anyhow, that is a little about me - looking forward to meeting you all again!

I'm making seapony adoptables!
I've put together some seapony adoptables and am excited to share them!

I can do your OC or Hasbro ponies. Also, definitely able to do small stuff like piercings, glasses, etc. I'm not putting cutie marks on them since there's not a whole lot of room on their teeny tiny bodies. I'm doing three at a time for now.

What accessories does your seapony have? (Pick any necklace - pearl or shell - and/or any headdress - pom poms or crystal. Personally, I think the crystal headdress looks best without a necklace since they overlap a little, but it's up to you. Or, you can have no accessories and be a free swimmin' seapony.)
What color are the accessories? (For example, do you want white pearls, pink pearls? Do you want the shell or the beads on the shell necklace a certain color? What color would you like your headdress? I can make the crystal a different color than the ropes or do different color pom poms)

Off Topic / Magic: The Gathering?

This is a totally random question, but do any of you play Magic: The Gathering? I've scored an interview with Wizards of the Coast for a job in event management, where I would essentially be doing the logistics and event planning for MTG tournaments internationally. However, I'm new to trading card games in general and haven't played MTG before. I do have a lot of experience planning large scale events and am generally pretty nerd-tastic so I feel like it wouldn't be hard for me to get into it.

I'd love to know what the appeal of the game is and what people like/dislike about it or other trading card games. And if you have any experience going to trading card game tournaments, please share! And no worries if you don't play MTG (I don't either) - we can be clueless together!

I recently read The Martian and it has got me wanting to read more sci-fi. I also love fantasy novels, so share your favorites! I'd love to get some recommendations of books, because I am all out of ideas. I keep re-reading Ray Bradbury short stories and some of my favorite Mercedes Lackey series, and I'd love to branch out a bit more

Price Check Archives / PC on G4 Royal Wedding Castle Playset?

Hi all -

I recently bought some ponies on Craigslist and they came with a used G4 Royal Wedding Castle Playset. It's in pretty good condition but I'm missing some of the smaller accessories. I know I have the tiny piano that comes with it and I think I have the cake, but I am missing the majority of the other small pieces. I do have Cadance and Shining Armor to go with it though. Any idea what this is worth? I am thinking of selling because I really only wanted the ponies in the lot, not the castle, haha!

Introductions / Why hello there!

Hi all!

I'm Michelle aka Pineapplecupcake

I'm a twenty-something Seattle native who enjoys MLPs - all the generations! I've been collecting MLPs since I was a little kid in the late 80s - I couldn't bear to get rid of them when I got older because they are so darn cute! I even learned to read by reading the My Little Pony comic books when I was a kid. I remember pouring over them for hours. I also inherited a bunch of my G1 collection from my grandma, who used to buy ponies at thrift stores for my cousins and I to play with. I didn't know there was such a following for them until the internet came along and I started to realize that there were other collectors.

At the moment, I am building a G4 collection, have a moderate G2 collection and have a couple big plastic bins with my regular G1 collection. I'm in the process of moving everything out of storage and finding somewhere to store/display it! I joined the forum to meet like-minded fans and learn a little bit about rehairing and the restoration process, since some of my G1s could use some shining up.
