« on: April 16, 2016, 08:43:14 PM »
We have here two Tonka Keypers for sale from my Keypers collection - I treasure them very much and they have a special place on my display shelf. Give them a good home!

I will put these up here for a few weeks. If there's no interest i'll move them to my etsy page https://www.etsy.com/shop/pixiemafia

Please feel free to shoot me a PM if there's any questions xo

They're in fantastic condition for their age - hardly any paint wear or discolouration, and superb hair.
Here they are with baby firefly for size comparison  ^.^:

Trader & Shipping Support / eBay seller issue - unpaid item case??
« on: October 27, 2015, 10:38:23 AM »
OK enough is enough and it seems like i'm getting nowhere with the eBay help team.

I've committed to buy an item (non-pony) on October 7th from a seller with decent positive feedback. Afterwards I tried to make the PayPal payment as usual but received an error message stating that the seller's PayPal account is unable to receive payment transactions at the moment. I immediately contacted the seller to rectify it and was told by them that their PayPal account is down and instructed me to continue the monetary transaction on their own website.

I was very cool about it at first, but I didn't want to proceed with that while the eBay transaction is active as I feel extremely insecure on my end as an eBay buyer. I clarified my issue with the seller and nicely requested them to cancel my purchase so I can proceed with purchasing directly from them instead. To cut the long story short, each time I message them to cancel my purchase I either get blatantly ignored or they repeatedly tell me to make the payment on their website.

Here's our message thread consisting of me talking to myself mostly:

Spoiler

Dear scr***,

Hello, I tried to make payment for this item via Paypal but I received a notification on-screen that your Paypal account is unable to accept payments. I've attached a screenshot of it for your reference - can you help rectify this please?

Thank you!

Dear sarah***,

Hi we are having paypal problems, currently the only way to complete thye transaction ius via our website (*ommitted out)

Dear scri***,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Does that mean I have to purchase the item through the website itself?

Dear sarah***,

Yes. The website is specifically for these products and the prices are all the same too.

Dear scri***,

Okay i'll do that. In that case, is it possible if you cancel this existing ebay transaction please?

Dear scri***,

Hello, following up on my previous message - any news on this?

Dear sarah***,

Paypal is still down and not likely to return, the only way to complete this transaction is via ** UK website.

Dear scr***,

From my understanding eBay doesn't encourage external payment transactions as a form of assurance and protection for both parties, so this existing transaction has to be cancelled first before I am able to proceed to purchasing directly from your website. I am unable to cancel this on my end as I can only open a case on October 17th, so I was wondering if you are able to cancel this as a seller?

Dear scr***,

I'm awaiting a cancellation request from you in the resolution centre, afterwhich i'll proceed to purchasing from your website directly. As a buyer i'm unable to send a cancellation request.
Thank you!

Dear scr***,

Hello again,

I've emailed eBay regarding this since I am unable to cancel this transaction as a buyer.
They advised to open a cancel transaction case on your end through the following steps:

1) Go to resolution center
2) Under the "Report an Unpaid Item" button
3) Enter the item number
4) Click the "Continue" button
5) Select "We have both agreed not to complete the transaction."

I hope you can follow through this please so I am able to proceed with purchasing this item from you directly from your website. I do not feel secure doing an external transaction while this eBay transaction is open - hope this is understandable! Looking forward to hearing from you soon in the next few days.

Thanks

At this point i'm already feeling VERY iffy and uncomfortable, and refuse to pay because from my understanding it's discouraged to carry out eBay transactions externally and also a violation for sellers to change payment method after the sale. I tried my best to contact eBay for help via email since the seller refuses to communicate with me but I received a typical cookie cutter response to my ordeal (the type of info you can easily find in their FAQ) which is not useful at all  I don't  even think they bothered to read what I wrote in the email.

And recently out of the blue (after days of zero further communication), an unpaid item case was opened against me by the seller.  :argh: :pullhair:   It's a total suckfest because I can't do anything about it but wait. My option is to wait for the seller to close the case so I can appeal for an unpaid item case. I have positive buyer feedback over the years and I don’t wish to have a strike on my account because of this.

Does anyone have any advice on this??
I have never come across such a problem with sellers on eBay before

Off Topic / Living in New Zealand?
« on: September 13, 2015, 10:20:56 AM »
I have serious thoughts of joining a Work Exchange Programme for undergraduates who are graduating soon. Never been to NZ before so I have no clue of what to expect or prepare myself for :lookround: Are living costs affordable? How are the communities like? I have a lot of worries just thinking about being far away from home and leaving everything i'm familiar with behind.

I only wish to stay there temporarily (maybe 6 months to a year?) just to gain industry experience.

The NZ govt website has a lot of information about it with plenty of enticing ads, but coming from a Marketing/PR background I know most ads aren't erm.. 100% truthful about things  :P. Especially with NZ's recent immigration call for new citizens from my country specifically; I wish to be extra careful with everything I read on the net. I rather hear it from those living there themselves!  :)

Does anyone have any tips or advice? I'll be ever so grateful <3

I have a whole bulk of vintage Sandylion stickers lying around in storage and tons of extras that i've been wanting to get rid off. Some of them have yellowing on the backing paper, but the stickers are in pristine condition. Each pack is individually wrapped and sealed, and contains 8-10 stickers of beautiful colours. They're iridescent and have a pretty holographic texture!

Each sticker sheet is 1.50 USD.
I will ship to anywhere in the world for free by airmail!
However if you prefer to have your mail registered, it's an additional 2 USD.
Payment via Paypal only

Stickers instock (updated 24/08):
- Rooster
- Otters x1
- Snakes x1
- Earth/tree/nature x4
- Penguins x2
- Crocodiles
- Fish
- Seashells

---

Photos! It's hard to capture the designs due to the light and the sticker's texture, so do let me know if you need detailed photos and i'll try my best xo

Note: Please keep in mind that the package condition is not perfect (they're manufactured in 1992!) and each sheet's condition varies, but mint nonetheless with no effect on the stickers itself. I'm more than happy to let you choose which sheet you want after you select the design. Just let me know or i'll pick a sheet for you  ^.^

Pony Brag Arena / Call upon the Seaponies.. sets completed!
« on: July 10, 2015, 06:50:12 AM »
I've been wanting to post this for a pretty long time but I thought i'll wait it out till I receive the last one in the mail, and internship got in the way. So better late than never!  ;)

I used to dislike Sea ponies till I receive Wavedancer from a trade.. gradually I went nuts for these lovelies and dedicated a few hardcore months hunting for all the adults complete with their shells. Now I can safely conclude my search!!! I'm so happy with them!!

Photos!

When I first got them together; I got lucky! The US ones come with their original shells, ribbons and combs/brushes.

An earlier photo of most of the seaponies on display in my pony corner. They have since gotten a new arrangement with the arrival of the euros.  ^.^ For those who follow me on Instagram you might've seen this.

I have now moved on to completing all the babies which is less of a task. Also i've been wondering if there are any other variation of the adult seaponies? Because if there is... UGH I must have it! Seapony fans do you feel me???  :P

Trader & Shipping Support / Missing Etsy package (non-pony) - UPDATE
« on: June 05, 2015, 10:28:07 AM »
In early April my friend wanted to gift a choker necklace (the 90's are calling!) to his sister for her birthday. He knew I was into fashion so he asked me to help seek out the perfect necklace online - I recommended him this Etsy seller who has alot of good rep. My friend agreed to the price and I went ahead to make the purchase on his behalf since he doesn't have an account of his own.

The seller promptly mailed the necklace out afew days later without tracking from the US, which is totally cool as I made plenty of purchases in the past w/o tracking and never had the slightest issue.
A little over a month passed and both of us start to worry.. our overseas packages never took this long, with the exception of surface shipping. Plus it's just one small necklace that is probably fitted in a letter envelope.

I proceeded to message her. Here's our conversation with her name omitted out:

Quote
Sarah S. 22 May, 2015
Hi babe thanks for the prompt shipment :) Unfortunately my friend has yet to receive the choker to his address and it's been a month, so he's getting anxious since our frequent US orders usually only take 10 days to 2 weeks to arrive. Do you have any suggestion to rectify this?

---- 22 May, 2015
Let's confirm your address

(friend's address edited out)

Sarah S. 22 May, 2015
Yup! correct, that's his address

(At this point I was expecting some sort of assurance that the package is delayed in transit or at most a reply telling me to wait it out abit more. But, nada. Zilch. So we decided to give it till early June, to make it a full 2 months from date of purchase. My friend got back to me a few weeks later that his mailbox is still empty and wanted a refund so I shoot her another message.)

Sarah S. 1 day ago
Hi again, my friend still have not received the choker since April. Is the package shipped via first class intl?

---- 1 day ago
Sounds like it got lost and for sure we're not missing anything from the address?

Sarah S. 1 day ago
Yup i've double checked with him and also the original texts he sent me with his address prior purchasing it on his behalf - I could show you the screenshots if you like. My friend asked if a refund is possible? He intended it as a gift for his sister's b'day so he's feeling pretty miffed about it now.

The conversation timestamp is 1 day ago, but she actually had a full 24 hours to reply my last message due to our time difference. I feel terrible because it's my friend's (sort of) first purchase from Etsy and I was the one that recommended the seller to him. Also, maybe it's just me but I feel upset with the way she handled my queries and the air of dismissiveness she has towards the situation. I know the necklace is not worth alot to fuss over about, but my friend still paid for it and the fact that his sister's birthday is already over pisses him off.

With a situation like this, is my friend entitled to a full 100% refund and should accept nothing less than that? What should I do if the seller refuses to offer any sort of refund or compensation?

Off Topic / Anyone seen the new Jem & The Holograms movie trailer?
« on: May 12, 2015, 07:59:47 PM »
Am I the only one here who thinks it's so bad that it's truly outrageous  The official movie trailer is up on Youtube and the amount of dislikes that video has in such a short time is baffling. I've been looking forward to the movie ever since it was announced that they'll be doing a remake, but it pays no homage to the original cartoon at all! Seems like it's geared towards the tweens/pre-teens of today. What are your thoughts on it? Love it or nahhhh?

Off Topic / Happy April Fools!
« on: April 01, 2015, 07:53:31 AM »
Earlier this afternoon I had abit of harmless fun and gave out mini jars of jellybeans to my close college mates. None of them found this suspicious since I like preparing little gifts on totally random occasions. Here's the joke: Those jellybeans are from Jelly Belly's Beanboozled line - basically some of the jelly beans have horrid flavours like Rotten Egg, Canned Dog Food (my "favourite"), Stinky Socks, Mouldy Cheese.. etc. Plenty of funny candid videos and we all had a good laugh  :haha: Probably my most fiendish prank yet. The 12 yr old child in me would be proud!

Have you ever been pranked before or did a little pranking of your own?

P.S.: The "cancellation" of FiM Season 5 is genius.

Pony Corral / Sand/shedding in G3 packaging?
« on: March 27, 2015, 07:43:56 AM »
I've acquired two complete sets of Butterfly Island Seaside Celebration (Skywishes & Sew And So) and Juniper Jade today; all missing its box but still intact with the plastic package and i'm very pleased with them. Everything looks great till I tried taking close-up photos and noticed "sand" in each of their packaging. Anyone have any idea what it is? It feels and looks like sand but upon closer inspection it kinda looks like shedding of some sort too.

It's stuck in the accessories' tiny crevices and deep corners of the packaging. Some of it were firmly stuck in the hair and on the body - but I managed to clean it off. I had to discard the plastic package to salvage everything though I rather leave it intact for display  :( Could it be rubber/plastic degradation (though all of them look mint and fine)? Or insects? Anyone encountered such a problem? I know the seller has kept these ponies in storage for quite some time. I find it strange.. can't put my finger on it!

One of my favourite indie bands from Denmark, MEW will coming to my country at the end of this month for a concert, and there's currently an ongoing contest to win a pair of tickets AND meet-and-greet passes! It's a simple photo contest whereby we have to dress up as a cat and the best creative entry will win - i've submitted my photo to the organiser which was uploaded on their Facebook page earlier today.

Here's where I need your help!

If you have a Facebook account, could you help to 'LIKE' my photo on the organiser's facebook page? It will only take a second, I pinky promise!  :) Here's the direct link to my photo:

https://www.facebook.com/bandwagonapp/photos/a.890309520990074.1073741924.263863426968023/890780267609666/?type=3&theater

It will be really great if I stand a chance to win this contest, as i'm not only doing it for myself but also for my boyfriend who is a much bigger, crazier fan than I am! It'll be such a huge surprise for him. Both of us missed their show 2 years back so it'll be incredible if we get to see them this time 'round.

Thank you so much!!

Off Topic / Musicals and broadway theatre! Favourite shows?
« on: January 13, 2015, 07:45:25 PM »
OK so lately i'm on a musical binge. Watched the production of CATS last weekend and gonna catch Disney's Beauty & The Beast next. I'm practically prancing around and singing in the school hallways much to the annoyance of my class.

What are your favourite shows? Or shows you wish to watch?

I've always wanted to catch The Lion King and Wicked (missed both of them when they played here!). And not forgetting Rent and Spring Awakening. My personal all-time favourite is A Chorus Line - has a special place in my heart cos I was part of the cast in my secondary school's  (high school in america) adaptation of the musical. I remember every song and dance choreography till today. Was so happy to have finally watched the production 2 years ago and recall those memories  :)

Pony Corral / Pony travels: Bangkok, Thailand!
« on: January 13, 2015, 12:18:35 PM »
Just wanna share this piece of info with everyone!

I'll be travelling to Bangkok this year with my mum for a very much-needed break. But.. what is a trip without pony hunting? Recently I had a friend who bought me Blossom (2007) and Baby Snookums from Bangkok for my b'day but she forgot the place she got them from. With little and vague information, i've intensively searched and googled for the exact location and hit jackpot afew days ago! So I thought i'll share my research here in case anyone plans to holiday in Asia.

Rod Fai Market (aka Talad Rot Fai/Train market)
Opening Hours: 17:00 - midnight (Thurs-Sun)
Location: Srinakarin Road Soi 51 (behind Seacon Square)

I hope you're excited as I am looking at these photos!  :yippee: It'll be my first time going there. Basically its an open-air market selling all sorts of goodies: vintage memorabilia, antiques and toys. Worth a google search; it looks like a massive treasure trove, who knows what you might find! Anyway, there's one particular store in the market that is a must-go:

Dollar Shop
Warehouse 2, Room 22

Also a slice of heaven for doll collectors!
Here's a photo my friend took at the store afew months back when she's on holiday:

I've contacted the store on their Instagram and they still have ponies for sale. In any case i'll leave the contact details of the store at the end of this post for everyone's reference. I'm sure other stalls/shops in the market that sell ponies too but I can't say for sure since my friend didn't cover the place properly. Only one way to find out! Fyi, I know major shopping malls there have G4s in abundance. I personally get more hyped up whenever I discover vintage ones in the wild.  ;)

If anyone encountered other good pony-hunting spots on their travels, please feel free to share! Likely will update this thread too as I go along on my trip in the very near future.

Have fun and safe travels! xoxo

Pony Brag Arena / Flea market find: G1 Japanese keychain!
« on: December 28, 2014, 04:03:03 AM »
I'm still filled with glee! Usually whenever I make a trip down to my local vintage flea market, i'll never stumble across any ponies. Today however I acquired something pretty cool without realising it! I found G3 Toboggan in a plastic bag with a mini pony I didn't take close notice to. The stall owner offered 8 singapore dollars (around 6 USD) for both of them so I got it.

After taking both ponies out I realised its Baby Starbow. Originally a keychain but missing its keyring. After googling I came to know that the keychains were only released in Japan!!

"These keychains were released as G1 retro merchandise in G2 and only in Japan. They are very hard to find." - mylittlewiki

Hair's dry and rough. I'm still in disbelief that I found her at a totally obscure flea market  :wow: I'm very interested on how she ended up there though.
