For Sale - For Auction / *-SOLD-*
« on: September 16, 2015, 10:21:43 PM »
It has come time for me to make a significant reduction in ponies.  I have been buying less and less, and have lost quite some interest for the time in them.  With space at a premium in my home, I fear I must pack them away and sell some of the others.  I do need a little bit of cash as I have some expenditures I’d like to make without taking it from my ‘work money.’ :)

I work a lot, so I don’t really have the time or patience to sell single ponies or only a couple at a time.  So I am offering today a large lot of the ponies.  My buyer gets a major discount on a lot of amazing ponies, and I get them out of my hair in one fell swoop.  It’s a win-win.  I’ve noted all major faults with every pony, but at the same time, there may be a minor this or that missed, so please keep that in mind.  I have always been a picky collector, and this grouping on ponies do reflect that.  No ponies have any odors in this grouping.  No one has any tail rust.  I am including a small bait lot with this group.

Some of the ponies in this lot can be seen on my old sales thread: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,364247.0.html So that you can get some more detailed photos of some of them here, as well as some of what is included in the small bait lot.

I am only accepting domestic buyers within the US.  Sorry.

I am asking $200 and $25 for shipping.  I am not looking to break this lot up.  I am willing to entertain fair offers.

Here is a link to my old sales page, which has more pictures of a good deal of the ponies here in the lot.

1. Sugarberry - Good - Nice hair, fairly white, a few small marks.  Soft, uncut hair.

2. Pearly Baby Surprise - Good - soft uncut hair, most of pearl coat intact.  A few small marks.

3. Twinkler - Near Mint - Soft and uncut hair.  No frizzed out tinsel.  No discoloration.

4. Seashell - Near Mint - Soft and uncut hair.  Has a few slight marks, and has only the slightest discoloration which is typical for this pony.

5. Seaflower - Okay - Hair typically frizzy on color change portions.  Uncut.  Small scuffs to eyes.  Small marks all over.

6. Star Dancer - Near Mint - Soft, silky hair.  Tinsel uncrinkled.  No discoloration. Small scuff to leg, little scratch to symbol.

7. Night Glider - Good - Hair soft and silky, but a bit sparse in mane and not bright white.  Symbols are nice and good.  Pony does have some slight green discoloration that may or may not be the beginning of regrind.  Is hard to see on inspection, but is there.

8.  Taffeta - Good to Very Good - Soft hair, slightly dry on ends, but uncut.  NICE but not perfect tinsel.  Eyes great.  Symbols GOOD, not perfect, mostly free of marks.  Super good condition for this specific pony.

9. Banana Split - Near Mint - Super silky uncut hair.  Original curl.  Body bright and clean.  Small symbol scuffs.

10. Wind Whistler - Very Good - Very pink, soft and uncut hair.  Flocking is very good but has some typical small rubs at ears, feet and lips.  A little dingy, but much better than usual condition for this pony.

11.  Whizzer - Very good - Soft silky uncut hair.  Eyes retain good pearl coat.  Very few marks.

12. Locket - Very Good - Beautiful and bright.  Hair soft, silky and in great set.  Original tail bow?  Good coating on eyes, only a few marks.  Biggest issue was a cut forelock that has been rerooted with original G1 pony hair.

13.  Deflock Truly - Very good.  Hair is soft, maybe a tiny bit dry.  Very good deflock.  Symbols are good, if but a slight bit of lightening on each of the bird’s wings.  Very, very slight head/body mismatch.

14.  Flocked Surprise - Very Good - Unusually good condition for Pony.  Bright hair in good set, soft and silky.  Flocking is fluff and bright, just a bit yellowed which is per usual with this specific pony.  Only small rubs to flocking.

15.  Pink Princess Pony - Near Mint - Soft silky hair, body bright and clean.  Maybe a small mark or two.  No cuts.  Eye lashes have been subtly thinned by me to make pony more attractive.

16. Princess Sparkle - Near mint.  Rattles, but must be loose washer.  Not rusty in the least.  Hair soft, silky uncut, tinsel not at all crinkled.  Bright, clean, symbols very nice.  Small indent to side, maybe a mark or two.

17.  Star Glow - Near Mint - One small scuff on eye.  Only fault I can find besides some small mold errors to body.  Clean, bright, super silky hair, uncut.  No rust.  No fog to body or discoloration.  Beautiful.

18. Italy Surprise - Very Good, especially for an Italian.  Very nice hair, soft and silky with lots of curl.  Maybe a cut to the tail, as it is short, but does not look like it has been cut to me?  Factory error?  Don’t know.  She is a little offwhite, but not badly in the least.  Good eyes, good symbols.

19. Princess Royal Blue - Near Mint - Bright, clean body.  Silky, soft, uncut hair.  Maybe a piece or two of tinsel slightly crinkled, but mostly straight and smooth.  Beautiful medallions, still pink, unusual.  Very nice for this pony.

20.  UK/Euro Schooltime - Near Mint, Bright, clean body.  Super soft, silky uncut hair.  Very few marks, Great eyes and symbols.

21. Princess Pristina - Good - Nice, uncut silky hair.  Somewhat crinkled tinsel.  A lot of assorted small marks to body.  Medallions are a bit rough.  A small, not all the way through poke to her DS rump beneath her medallion.  Nice eyes, displays very well as most of the small marks are fairly light.

22. Cranberry Muffins - Good - Hair is soft, silky and uncut.  Body is clean, symbols are nice, so are eyes.  Does have a bleach spot on NDS front leg from removezit.  Little larger than a dime. ;.;
Otherwise very nice.

23.  Buzzer - Okay - dingy hair that is a bit dry.  Mane is cut, was bought for rehair.  Wings a bit crinkled.  Small marks, rub to blush, otherwise still cute.

24.  BBE Baby Lofty - Good - Soft, silky hair.  Maybe a cut to mane, unsure.  Paint is nice, body is vibrant, no rust to eyes or tail.  Highlighter mark on NDS.

25/26 - 2 Purple Talks A lot ponies - One speaks German, the other speaks English.  You will need to put batteries in them to find out which is which.  They both worked last I tested them a few years ago.

A- Fairly Minty - Soft, silky, uncut hair.  Bright, clean body, good eyes and symbols.  Has a few marks on her, but they look like they are the removable sort.

B - Fairly Minty - Soft, silky, uncut hair.  Great eyes and symbols.  A small mark here and there.  Very nice.

27. Deflocked Magic Star - Great - Great deflock, very little fluff left to her and not sticky in the least.  Hair is soft, silky and uncut, but will need a restyle from storage.  Body is bright, eyes and symbols are bright and mostly intact.  Slight lose of eyelashes on NDS.

28. Deflock Buttons - Good - Hair is slightly dry on ends, but uncut.  Nice symbols and eyes, Smidge of glue residue here and there and body a smidge dingy.

29. Honey Suckle - Good - No wings.  Bright and clean, nice eyes and symbols.  A few small marks.  Hair is still very pink.  Slightly bit dry, but she has not at all been treated or conditioned, and I think a trip to the salon would bring hair back to very silky.  Her was previously braided and a flea market find that I didn’t get a chance to working on.

30. Sparkle Baby Gusty - Near mint - Body free of any significant marks.  Hair silky and uncut.  Bright, great eyes and symbols.

31. Baby Sparkle Firefly - Good - Nice, clean, excellent body with good symbols and eyes.  Hair is little dry, maybe cut to mane.

32. Alt Rehaired Taffeta - Okay -Good rehair job, nice silky hair.  Nice eyes, symbols are good too.  Some small assorted marks to body, a poke to her DS, and then a small 1/3cm cut to her belly, just below her to front legs.  Does not show on display.

33. Alt Rehair Sunny Bunch - Not Good - Excellent and beautiful rehair, long silky hair, beautiful pastel gradient.  Makes pony display well, but pony has a lot of small wears, scuffs, scratches and some slight discoloring all over, as to be expected with an alt rehair.

34. G2 Baby - Okay - Nice, silky, uncut hair.  Both eye gems intact.  But pony has pink saddle marks to body that thankfully blend fairly well into the pony, but are there on close inspection.

Also included is a small bait lot of ponies.  Consider it a surprise.  There is a bait Moondust and a bait Honeycomb in the lot and some other assorted odds and ends.  I have also tossed in several unused skeins of dollyhair.  They will be a surprise. :)

I finally got a little cash flow going on getting my dolly business going again, but I am fast running out of stock.

I am looking to buy antique and vintage dolls, pre-1960.  I realize it's a bit hard to tell, so whatever you got, if you THINK it's in the age grouping, feel free to PM me a photo or even just post photos here, and I'll be happy to help.

I am looking for composition dolls, made of wood pulp, covered in plaster, and painted beautifully.  These dolls commonly show 'crazing' or 'cracking' on their surface.  They can have painted eyes, or open and close eyes.

I am looking for early hard plastic dolls, like Sweet Sue, Nancy Anne, Cissy, etc, etc.  These dolls are made of a very hard plastic, generally had open and closed eyes.  I am also looking for 8 inch dolls made of hard plastic like Ginny and Muffy.  Ginny will be marked Vogue, and Muffy as Nancy Anne.  Sometimes Muffy is unmarked.

I am also interested in SOME baby dolls pre-1960.  Dolls marked American Character or some variation of that, or dolls marked Dydee or Effanbee.  I am looking for parts for these dolls, so if you find a head and a shriveled body, I'll happily take that little mess off your hands and get her a new body!

I am also looking for bisque head German and French dolls of really any condition.  I'll take bodies with busted heads, and the busted heads even if they're mostly complete.  ( They're not worth much, but I know people who can put them back together and make them look like new. )

I am not interested in newer porcelain dolls at all.  If they look new, they generally are new.

Some markings to look out for: Effanbee, Anne Shirley, American Character ( Amer Char, PETITE, AC ), IDEAL, Horsman, R&B, Arranbee, PATSY ( or variations of Patsy - Pasty Ruth, Patsy Anne, Patsy Lou, Patsyette, etc, etc. ), Shirley Temple, etc, etc.

As I said, if you've got it and you think it's vintage/antique, and you'd like to sell, just post me a picture, and I'll be all too happy to help.  :)

Off Topic / Feeling very. . .vindicated ( Stupid car blah blah )
« on: May 12, 2015, 11:36:03 PM »
So, today, I'm in the hole for another $400 on my car, but I'm actually happy.

After nearly 14mos of issues and the car not registering any codes, the problem was finally found.  Funnily enough, the problem turned out to be something that I have been trying to tell the mechanics that I thought it was.  I was told a year ago they were 60% sure it was the computer, and I said no, it couldn't be.  The car I drive has pretty much an indestructible computer, and is one of the very last things to ever break on them.  If they ever break at all.  A contact on a forum for this model of car swore they were practically NASA quality stuff, and I believe it, given it looks like a big iron brick with some connections in it.

Now, I had noticed very early on that the car had issues when it was particularly humid ( Florida, hahahahaha ) or we had an especially nasty rain storm.  No mechanic would listen to me, ruled me out on it being a moisture issue/wiring issue, and even my father, a mechanic himself, could not find the issue, but he is a classic car mechanic, he doesn't work on modern cars. . .  Though, I think mine is at least slightly vintage now. . .  She's 12 now.  :D

Anyways, I never had such a problem before, even though my previous car was the same make and model, and I drove that car for eight years.  She drove like new, despite having nearly 200k miles on her when a nanny with five kids and an oversized SUV slammed into my back end at 35mph.  Which is exactly why I bought another.  One, I'm short and petite, and it's really hard to find a car that fits me as well as this particular car, and comfort too, also, I think they're a gorgeous car, and this one seemed to have landed perfectly in my lap at the right time.  While she was a year older than my first, she had almost 100k less miles, so not exactly fully broken in, she was mostly clean body and interior wise, and she had the performance package and trim, PLUS a sunroof.  It's hard to find these cars not beat on, they're pretty hardy little cars, they take tons of punishment, but I did want a nice car and not a junk pile, and pickings were slim, given my old one was a 2004, and they were last made in 2005 and in very limited numbers, so the newest I was going to get was a 9yo car, unless I wanted to go with the new body style which is totally blah, in my opinion in terms of looks, while being the same car underneath(The KBB also retailed them to be 4k more for the same miles as the older model that I got, with a 3year difference in age ).  I'm vain, what can I say?

I knew I would be repairing some things on it, but she drove pretty well off the lot, had a nice, solid idle, especially for a then 12 year old car.  Two weeks later I thought the transmission was going out on her when she started slamming in and out of gear.  But I soon noticed that when she did that, she was idling extremely high.  It would surge and drop, so the car would take off like it was possessed, then suddenly not go anywhere.   However, the car would magically stop this crap every time the weather turned nice and hot without a lot of moisture.  Rain storm hit?  She'd start acting up again.  Every time, I'd drop the car off at the lot, and the weather would brighten up, and the big fat Florida sun would come out and cook the crap out of her on the asphalt.  Come September she stopped the crap completely, until about 3 weeks ago, after a particularly nasty storm I was driving through to get to work.  She started it immediately during the storm, and continued for some days thereafter until it got dry again.

So, took it in today, and told them to basically humor me.  Pull the car apart, check every connections, and if something looks nasty and corroded, fix it.  I get a call about 4pm.  They found the issue.  Turned out it was all the wiring in the back of the engine bay, and the cam shaft sensor being wired severely stupid.  Someone had pretty much rigged the wiring in back where neither me or my father were really able to get at ( the motor mounts have to be pulled so the engine can swing forward, while removing all the coil packs to get at this particular part of the engine ) and YES, they were corroded, and yes, they looked as if they were being shorted out from water or stupid bumps, and they were all wrapped in cheapo black electrical tape and not proper automotive tape.  They were able to wiggle the wires about and replicate the issues the car was presenting when wet or a bad bump had jostled her about.

Now, I only need to dump another $300 for some new back tires and another set of performance rotors and pads for the back wheels to match the front, and I'll hopefully be done with this automotive nightmare!

Well, I guess this means I know a little about cars in all actuality, despite being treated like I know crap because I'm a woman, nevermind I do my own oil, spark plugs, rotors, brake pads, anything to do with lights, etc, etc, etc. . .  I mean, I can't do a gasket job, at least not on a modern engine ( though I'll be tearing apart a Pontiac 350 hopefully this fall to rebuild on my OTHER car that has sadly not been able to be touched since I purchased her, because of the issues with the daily driver ),

Sorry for all the blah blah, I just wanted to get some of that off my chest.

-I am currently pondering the idea of a bulk sale, so if there are any specific ponies you want, speak now.  If you're interested in buying me out, speak now -

I'm selling a good chunk of my collection!  I am not always 'in the know' when it comes to exact prices, so I'm always open to reasonable offers, especially for a large purchase.

First off, I can offer international shipping, but all packages will leave with insurance, which will make international shipping pricier. I will only do International orders for ponies over $20, or orders of 4 or more ponies.

I do not do holds, and I expect payment quickly.  I do ship out very quickly, generally 3-5days at the very most.  If I get several orders all at once ( ebay, etc, ) I will certainly ship sooner to save myself on gas!  My ponies come from a smoke free home, and my nose is extremely sensitive, so no stinky ponies from me!  I do have cats, though, just as a warning, though they don’t play with said ponies.

I do not take orders under of $10
.  I just don't have the time to sell one single $5 pony and ship it for $4.50.  I will be more than happy to offer some sort of discount for purchases of four or more ponies. Domestically, I can ship a pony for $4.50 for one, $6.50 for two, and $7.50 for 3. Purchases of $50 or more, will need to go by priority, so it will cost a bit more for a single pony or more that way.  Overages over $1.00 will always be refunded. :) If you have any questions, just ask me!  And I am flexible on prices here and there, so just ask.

Now, onto the ponies!

Minty.  Super soft uncut hair.  Small factory defect to eye, and a small rub on her eyelash.  She has a factory error to her NDS, under her wing.  Vinyl a bit uneven and wrinkly in a dime sized portion of her vinyl.  She basically looks like she was just popped off the card.  Beautiful, clean and appears unplayed with to me.

Perfume Puff’d Heartthrob - $15 SOLD
Decently good glitter, but some yellowing to her body and some of her symbols are faded.  Otherwise her body is quite nice.  Her hair is done in acyclic/wool mix, it is not glued in, but won’t just fall out.  I can glue the hair in at request.  She was a bad haircut victim. :)

And this!  Beautiful!  It's like a dream catcher snowflake hybrid!

Thank you so much, Nessy, I couldn't have been happier with the box!  I was so grateful for all the beautiful handmade ornaments, and most of them are smaller which I really appreciate!  It's like you were reading my mind!  I'm unfortunately not going to be able to put up a full size tree ( I can't afford the extra electricity costs, seriously, power in Florida is an arm and a leg ) and I've got a hyperactive monster of a somewhat grown kitten named Mako, so I will be putting up a baby tree on the table and hope to heck she doesn't tear it down.  I'll be using the larger snowflakes for decorative hangers, so absolutely perfect!  Thank you again! <3

The Dollhouse / Looking to buy antique and vintage dolls~
« on: October 12, 2014, 02:24:35 AM »
I know there are a lot of thrifters around here, and I am currently trying to restart my antique doll business.

However, I need stock, and ebay is a total mess.

I'm looking to see if I could get some people to keep an eye out in their areas for dolls.  I live in Florida, and a lot of the dolls I collect and sell do not handle the elements very well, and as of such, it's generally a very poor place to hunt for dolls.

I am not looking to just buy any old dolls, but generally those from the 1930's-1960's, though I would definitely be interested in dolls even older, especially German bisque dolls.  There were still a lot of junk dolls around then, so it is kind of hard to suss out the good from the not worth much.

I am in need of money, and I do want to start doing what I really love again, which is working on antique dolls, and I'd love to put money in arena member's pockets.  I would be definitely paying fair prices for anything I would want to buy for resale.  I am not just looking for dolls but also the antique and vintage accessories.  Dresses, clothes, shoes, binkies, bottles, etc.  Not children's clothes, but doll clothes.

I would be super happy to work with some people and help them know what to look for in antique and vintage dolls, such as makers mark's, and materials.  ( I am most interested in composition dolls!  Marked EFFANBEE, ALEXANDER, DYDEE, ANNE SHIRLEY, PATSY, IDEAL, VOGUE, GINNY etc, etc. .  I am also interested in rubber baby dolls, even parts.  I don't care if you find a shriveled up doll marked Effanbee Dydee, and she has a good head, or still has good original clothes, I want to buy her!  I can definitely use parts! )  I am after some unmarked dolls too, including composition and hard plastic dolls.  I especially want doll clothing tagged Effanbee, or Alexander, or Cissy.  Though I will really buy most anything tagged pre-1960.  You got some itty-bitty dress tagged MEDFORD, MASS, I want it!  <3  *Note* I do not buy Barbies, or their accessories, it's after what I deal with and I know little to nothing about them.  I also don't do the little Nancy Anne dolls.  They're sort of a niche in of their own.  I may expand later into them, but not at this time.  I am, however interested in Nancy Anne SHOWSTYLE dolls, which are the larger costumed dolls.  Mary Hoyer is another marked doll I would be interested in, as well as Arranbee ( R&B ) dolls, which are generally well marked.  Look at the backs of dolls, or at the back of their hairlines.  Don't be afraid to lift a wig to see if you can't see something.

I'm also up for handing out my phone number for texting images to me for quick responses on whether or not it's a good buy or not.

It's a win-win, extra money for ponies and dollies for you, and product for my business so I can get my business up and going again.

I am also after some very, very rare dolls who are not marked, and I will pay upwards of $200-$500 to obtain these dolls in Fair-to-good condition.  They are NOT for resale, but I am looking for my own collection, and because of their being unmarked, they are very hard to find.  They come in three sizes, 21inch, 24inch, and a 27inch-28inch doll.  They have open close eyes, with lashes, an open mouth with teeth, and they are on a thin, teenage body of full composition minus their arms which are a hard rubber composite material.

And a Hakata doll: http://www.ebay.com/itm/191284631046?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Both I am starting for low opening bids, so here's a good chance at owning one of these antique beauties.  I am a professional doll restorer and preservationist with 100% feedback, so bid with confidence.  :)

I will also be listing a bisque Japanese girl with human hair later.

I am *thinking* about selling a very, very special doll from my actual collection.  She is 100% one of a kind, made by a doll artist in Japan.  I have an idea of WHO she is likely made by, and it is a very famous doll maker who has several books out.  Cannot prove it, so will not say for sure.  She does not have her original paper work.  Otherwise, she is all original.

As you can see, she is hand painted.  What you can't see, is that she is jointed.  Before the big BJD craze, these dolls were known previously as mitsuore dolls.  :3  Her wrists and elbows are articulated.  As is her neck, and her ankles, knees, and hips.  Her shoulders are not articulated, her elbows are attached to a cloth sock that is attached to her shoulders to allow more freedom of posing.  Her body is covered in thin, chirimen silk, a very time-intensive labor!  Her kimono is completely original to her, though the silks are much older than she is, but reuse of antique and vintage kimono silk is very common among art dolls like this one.  She is completely one of a kind and hand-made.  I'm looking to take offers from interested parties.

I just bought a second car, and my finances are kind of rough right now.  I need to get my back brakes and tires replaced on my daily driver, before I can even get my second ( for restoration, it's a car I've been wanting for 10 years, and is 11 years older than I am.  I'm 27.  hahaha. ) car registered and plated. . .  I'm just looking to get my bank account back up and because I made such a major purchase, I do really need to let go of some things.  :)

Off Topic / OMG! So excited! ( Not pony related )
« on: August 10, 2014, 06:53:39 PM »
Not a pony brag, but actually a car brag!

I've been trying for over ten years to get a hold of a vintage Firebird!  And today it happened!

I have SO much work ahead of me, but the darling has almost NO rust but some surface pitting that can be pretty easily sanded down by hand.  Nothing needs to be filled or patched but for a teeny bit in the rear pans!

She's a 1976, so, given that little amount of rust, she's very clean and very original.  The guy that sold her to me got her up and running so a lot of the actual mechanical nonsense is done but for some tuning and minor nitpicking here and there.  The car is green, which, originally, would've looked nice, but Florida sun has made her really UGLY.  Hahahah!

I'm unfortunately going to probably need to drop about $500 on fixing her doors.  Body is straight, no hard dents, just some dings, but for a nearly 40 year old car, hinges do sag, and they're expensive to fix.  And the interior panels are shot.  Needs some new hardware on the little lock popups and what not. . .  Also weather stripping.  Poor car is going to have to be tarped otherwise or she'll get flooded.  XD

I pick her up tomorrow, and I can't wait to really start tinkering around and figuring out what all I'm going to be doing.  Car is definitely going to be a project for the next few years, but definitely an investment.  I got her for a very good price all things considering.  A rust free body alone is probably worth what I paid for her, and while she's not my favorite Firebird ( 1967 is ) the money I put in this one WILL appreciate and I can always trade her down the line. . .  And maybe not. . .

I'll post pictures tomorrow or so if anyone is interested in my ugly baby.  XDDD

MLP Nirvana / Yay Grail!
« on: July 23, 2014, 08:57:06 PM »
I won one of my Nirvana grails.  :)  Brazil Wind Whistler.  I just love the shy pegasus pose, so getting them in Nirvana are all my grails.

She is SO rough looking though, but it's not like I'm paying much at all for her, so I can clean her up.  I am likely going to rehair her mane.  Her tail looks salvageable, and I'm not likely to resell her, and should I, it's not like she is worth a lot in current condition anyways, so I'm not worried about that.  We'll see when I get her in, I think she'll clean up pretty nicely otherwise for her mane.

Also, does anyone have an experience sunfading Brazilians?

I have a bit of a restore project and I need some vintage MLP hair to do it.  I prefer to use the old stuff and not the dolly hair replacements as I don't find the product a match in texture at all, and it just doesn't hold up.  ANYWAYS, I'm looking to get 2-3 tails worth of fading pink hair.  They do not need to be bright perfect pink, but I don't want faded to white either.  Maybe a middle pink would be alright.  It's to match another pony and her hair is not perfectly pink.  I'm willing to buy the tails out right or trade.  Let me know!

Okay, so this is going to be a bit of a weird trade offer.

I have a decent condition Taffeta.  She has a very good body, good eyes, and okay symbol medallions.  They are scuffed, they're worn, but no broken parts and can likely be restored.  Her biggest issue is her hair.  It is all there, but it has lost its lustre and is very dingy despite multiple treatments.  Her tinsel is fairly stripped and her mane is a little thin.  She doesn't have cut hair, though, and retains its natural curl.

However, I would like to trade her for another Taffeta, in worse or better condition, does not matter.  I have a small army of Taffetas, she is my favorite, and I'd like to keep my numbers up, rather than down.  However, I can't really stand this one's hair.  I would normally just do an alt rehair, but I do realize Taffeta is a harder to find pony, and I don't know it's justifiable to chop a pony who has original curl and uncut at that, just because it's somewhat rough, dingy, thin and missing most of its tinsel.  I have done a great deal to restore the pony's hair to what it is even now.  It was a rat nest when I got her, so for me to have restored a lot of that original curl. . .  Yikes.

So, I would be open to trading for a better Taffeta, plus money, or a worse Taffeta that I COULD rehair and not feel bad about.  I'm looking for a Taffeta with a buzz cut, or super bad hair, but good body and symbols unbroken.  Scuffs and scrapes okay on symbols.  I would be happy to do a straight pony for pony trade via taking a worse Princess Taffy.  :3  I love rehairing as it is, and this one WILL get rehaired if I don't manage to find a trade for her.  XD

Pictures on request!

Off Topic / Any gardeners here? Anyone else love succulents? Bonsai?
« on: June 29, 2014, 07:23:18 PM »
I've been in a major gardening kick since I have finally started to feel better from my car accidents in February.

I unfortunately lost all my plants that month due to frost and being unable to get them covered or pulled in due to weakness and whip lash.

Except for two plants ( though the one died all the way back to the roots, and I thought it was dead until it came back in the spring! ), one being a giant jade green Aeonium Succulent.  So, while I have replanted a few green stuffs and vegetation, I've been really getting into succulents.

I was wondering if anyone was a grower too, and if they'd be interested in trading cuttings  ( Right now I only really have two I can take cuttings from as many of mine are still very small, but the one is super hardy and I don't know about the other, but it's absolutely an amazing plant ).  I'd really like to get into some more varieties.  I like mixes and then keeping some in small pots and display.  I'm a bit into succulents in shohin bonsai.  I do have two pre-bonsai right now ( I have a cutting of an azalea that is shaping up very nicely for bonsai, and a gardenia that has a fantastic root build that's very unusual for them.  I'll likely work on a wisteria soon, too, my parents have some beautiful old growth wisteria that I think I could make an air cutting/rooting off )   Everything is about being small given my back and living in an apartment, but I'm very happy I can garden at all.

Love to hear from others!

Off Topic / Gulf Coast Ponies - Are you okay?
« on: April 30, 2014, 01:29:28 AM »
I am currently in one of the few spots of Pensacola, Fl that is not flooded.

I'm just really worried about those of us on the gulf coast.  We've gotten nearly 24inches of rain in 24hrs.  It's crazy.  There's sections of the city that are under several feet of water, and the rain is not supposed to let up for at least another hour and a half, maybe until 8am.  It's 3:30am right now.

I'm very grateful for the spot I picked to live in Pensacola.  I'm only two miles from the water ( if even ) but I'm on a bit of a plateau off of the bluffs, and so I'm at the highest point in the area, so the water keeps leaving.  We've had some minor, minor power outages and brief at that, and I believe our water may be out.  ( We've lost about 50% of pressure ) so will likely be boiling water, but I am likely one of the few people who can actually see the asphalt of my parking lot!

I am just hoping all my fellow Gulfcoast people are okay as well!

Let us know!

I listed two lots of ponies on ebay a couple weeks ago.

I knew they were likely going to be bought up by the pony flippers.  One lot went to a pony flipper, the other didn't.  The pony flipper is a notorious seller who says ALL of her ponies are mint.  Even though in her description she says she doesn't say ponies are mint UNLESS THEY LOOK LIKE THEY CAME OUT OF THE BOX.

The ones she bought from me were all very nice, but NOT MINT save for a few, and even then, more minty than outright mint!  She has my Serena up.  Very nice Serena, but her hair was mostly faded and her medallions are badly, badly scuffed.  She's listing her as MINT.  Saying her hair has a lot of color even, and she doesn't.  She's was just the very slightest bit pink!

What the heck!?  Is this not outright lying?

She's got a few others that were mine that I'm pretty sure that are up, but I can't be entirely sure, but I am dead sure on the Serena because you can see the medallion scuffs if you're looking for them.

Good gods.  This person didn't even have the nicety to leave me feedback, either!

The day after my second accident, I was depressed and ended up just going for the gold on a Brazil Heartthrob.  Had I known I would still be fighting with the insurance company nearly a month later, I probably wouldn't have bought her. . .

Still, I got her today, and she's gorgeous!  Her tail is fried, but I knew that, and that was okay.  I was going to just pull her tail, keep it in a baggy, and give her a new tail for my own personal enjoyment!  However, I don't think I can do that. . .  She has a small rip in her plastic just underneath her tail. . .  If I pull her tail, it could rip to all heck. . .  Even if she survives that, retailing her could rip it too.

With the shipping back to Brazil, it's too expensive, and I don't want to return her, but I do feel it's a fault that should've been mentioned or at least photographed.  It's not visible on any photos, but easily visible with just a look under her tail.  I hate as a seller getting people who want a partial refund as they're usually just people trying to get a better deal.  But I kind of want to ask for one, because it's not like I can probably even sell her on for the price I got her for with damage to the body like that.

I paid $108.49 for her + $20 shipping.

I'm just looking for a little bit of input.  She's my first Brazilian and probably my second *big* Nirvana purchase and likely my last for a very long time until everything gets straightened out on the home front.
