So... it occurred to me that if you consider the first ponies I bought (G4 Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie) I've been buying ponies for about 5 years now. When my husband and I moved to our new apartment a year ago I thought almost immediately that the walk in closet off of our bedroom would make a perfect mini pony room! I worked on it for a while, deciding what I can afford to use the small space for, and in the end, over the past year, arranged it to display my G1 and G2 ponies. And now that it's been about five years since I walked into Toys R Us and bought me some ponies, spawning off the rebuying of my childhood ponies and joining this forum, it seems to be a good time to share the fruits of my labor. So here we go. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginHere's the view when you open the door! Just a quick inquiry. I've been wanting to add her to my collection, as she's so interesting and unique. I realize her price will vary greatly depending on how intact she is an if she still works, but in general what might I expect to pay for her? Thanks guys.

eBay has been so good to me lately! In December I got my first MOC for $15, and later a massive lot which included Crumpet for a great price. And now, this lot arrived just the other day, which I snagged for only $50! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginEveryone needs some cleaning up before I put the doubles up for sale, but this is definitely a great lot for that price. I'm so excited to have Baby Up Up and Away. Keep scanning eBay people, there's still treasure to be found.

So if you've been following my last couple threads... I got a large lot which included the Petite Carousel, and it just arrived yesterday. When I put it together and tried it out, I realized that the music box melody it played sounded very familiar. I'm positive that when I was a little girl I had a music box that played the exact same song. I asked my husband and he stated that it sounded familiar too. I found a Youtube video that shows the carousel playing its song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_msyay6DlQUThis must be a common song for music boxes, maybe? It's got me curious, does anyone know what the actual name of this song is? I distinctly remember two kinds of music boxes from my childhood. One looked like this: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThere, when you wound up the box a scene on a wheel would display in the little window as the machine rotated. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnd the other one looked like this, where the scene was probably on a sort of reel that passed by the screen as the music played. Does this ring a bell for anyone? I'm just curious.

Ebay has been really good to me lately. First I won my first MOC pony for only $15, then found a very interesting lot that included a Crumpet in excellent condition, plus a lot of other treasures! Thought I'd share! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginLove this girl! Her packaging isn't in perfect condition, but for the price I'm not complaining. The seller actually posted two baby ballerinas, but I only bought one. Thought I'd share the luck. Hope whoever got the other one will be a loving pony mommy. Next, the lot! I posted about this in the Corral, and I was surprised when it arrived so fast! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginHere's everything together! Not a bad snag for $60! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginFirst, the book and tape! The book has seen better days but I think it's mostly complete apart from the cover. I'm not sure about the tape yet, I have no means to test it out yet. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginPetite stuff! Not in great condition and with a lot of accessories missing, but I'm still happy to have all of this. Also, a random barette featuring Medley! It's broken but a fun little addition to the lot. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginStuff I already have plus a double of one of the petites, and will eventually be for sale. If you can believe this, Medley was filled with rice and dried peas or something. My theory is that someone had it in their mind to use ponies as secret storage for seeds for the upcoming apocalypse. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginFakies. The top two are labeled Remco, the other two have no labels. They looks to have had interesting lives. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginPonies, in varying condition. We'll see what I can do with Sundance. Lickety Split has a trim and her hair is totally white. On the bright side her flocking might clean up okay and is fairly complete. Ribbon might be a good deflock candidate. Not sure yet, it's pretty complete but is kind of thin and matted. Now, best of all... visitors can't see pics , please register or loginCRUMPET! Lucky for me she looks to be in the nicest condition of anything here. Her hair feels a bit dry but I think with some conditioning it'll come out nice, and her flocking is great. I'm so happy to have her in my herd and she looks so beautiful. Feeling so lucky.

Phew... my pony luck has been awesome lately. I just got a MOC Baby Ballerina pony last night for $15, now this. I was idly refreshing new listings on eBay when this lot popped up: visitors can't see pics , please register or login$60 plus shipping. I see Ribbon 2 Baby Cotton Candy Firefly Medley TAF Sundance SS Lickety Split Magic Star Baby Krispy Beach Comber with float Sweet Steps CRUMPET! (She's going to be my birthday pony for my birthday coming up next month) 12 petites (looks like there's doubles of a few of them?) Petite Carousel Another small Petite playset? Playpen Picnic at Paradise Estate book and tape Some fakies Some accessories? Does anyone know if those go to something MLP? The petites maybe? I really don't know much at all about petites, they're a big gap in my pony knowledge. Can anyone give some assistance with who's who and about how much I could get for the doubles? Thank you!

After a long cozy morning with my hubby, we finally dragged ourselves out of bed... the first thing I decided to do was poke on eBay to check recent pony listings, and I'm glad I didn't wait a moment later! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI snagged this as a BIN for $20! ($30, with shipping) It's been a while since I got lucky like this-- I think not since last year when I got that lot that included the blue hearts Dazzleglow for $25. I was having a rather dreary morning and this brightened my day right up. The fakie in the picture, is this a Buddy L? From the sound of the description, it still works. How collectible are these? I don't know if I need her, is this something that others are interested in?

visitors can't see pics , please register or loginActually, I think it's his now. So, a little while ago I was at a thrift shop and found the shell of a Show Stable... no accessories, rather yellowed, with a piece broken off the roof and a crack in the wall. I still couldn't force myself to leave it behind! I already have a Show Stable in better condition, so now it's kind of... taking up space. I'm sure that other collectors have had this problem. I don't know if I can bring myself to "release" it back into the thrifting world. I feel like there must be someone who could still make use of it. I have been meaning to revamp and update my sales page. I would be willing to offer it as a "free, just pay shipping" option, or free with a number of pony purchases. Do you think even that is a viable offer? I wouldn't mind some insight from the community, since it's G1 and I'd like it to go to a good home even if it isn't in good shape.

It's a little bit messy, but... well, necessity is the mother of invention. I'll probably work out how to make it look nicer later. I just don't have a ton of room to display my G1s in my walk-in closet, so I've needed to get creative. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThis actually works pretty well. The "cups" hold a baby sea pony mold pretty snugly. The back of the carton is pinned to the shelf, and the weight of the ponies in the front makes the front sag a little bit, creating a slightly tiered look. What do you think?

Hi everyone... I've had quite an absence due to some busy times, but in the meantime I've completed the first custom made for myself. I've done a few for swaps and received a couple too, but never made a custom pony with the intention of keeping it. However, the idea struck me when I was eBay shopping for old toys I had when I was a kid. So I had a Smooshees toy, and I'd forgotten about it until I saw a picture of her, and feelings of adoration came rushing back to me. Unfortunately... wouldn't you know it, she's a little hard to come by. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginLook at this sweet little girl. Looking at her, I remember loving the combination of colors and how soft and floofy all of her is. I figured that unless I get really lucky I'll never own her again. So I decided, why not combine her basic look with my love of My Little Pony, and create a custom that is inspired by her look so as to invoke the same feelings of nostalgia? I gave it my best shot, and I think she turned out pretty good. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginWhat do you think? I'm thinking of doing more of these, so constructive criticism is definitely welcome.

So... a few years back I bought a "bait box" lot on eBay. Most of them were actually okay enough for me to consider them viable additions to my collection, but a few were rather hopeless. One was this Cloud Dreamer: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThe poor girl. Not only are there the issues you can clearly see, but she had some rust in her, and her head was broken off unevenly, so most of the plug was still glued to the body. I didn't even wake up this morning with the intention of finally fixing her-- I'd instead thought about working on a custom, but once I got out my box of craft stuff and I remembered poor Cloud Dreamer, I got her out and went to work. The fact that I already had white Dollyhair helped! The result isn't perfect. I'll admit that... I've only repainted symbols twice before and they were much simpler ones. But I can at least display her now, and the fact that I worked hard on her makes me love her despite her issues. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginAll in all, I: Retailed her Cleaned her body Fixed up her hair Repainted her symbols Glued her head back on Tell me what you think, I'm open to constructive criticism. One issue was that the white paint of her large cloud came out a little uneven and despite my best efforts I had to struggle not to get it to run. Who knows how long it'll be before I have to restore a symbol, and I'd like to continue to improve.

So today I finally made it back to the retro/vintage shop in my hometown. I only get to go in a couple times a year... they had a couple G1s I had already, some G3s, a couple G4s and a ton of G3 McPonies displayed around a couple G3 playsets.
To be honest they tend to price G3s a little high but at the same time, they're constantly running sales so I seldom end up paying full price. I picked up all 4 G3s they had there, as I didn't have any of them. Here's what I got:
Cotton Candy II (Seaspray pose) Piccolo Comet Tail Comic Con "Graffiti" pony
These four cost me $23 altogether as the owner gave them to me for even cheaper than the 40% off sale price. I think the Comic Con pony makes up for the others, and honestly even if I ended up overpaying I don't mind too much for the sake of supporting a small local shop, but I'm not too good on G3 pricing, especially the exclusives. Did I do okay?

So excited! So every year since I started collecting, I treated myself to something a bit rarer on my birthday. Mimic, Baby Princess Sparkle, TAF Buttons, Clover, and now finally it came that I used the occasion to buy TWO very special ponies. I already had Star Glow from an eBay bargain, and the incredible blue hearts Dazzle Glow from a lucky BIN, and now thanks to Sunlight I have the whole set! I never thought I would finish this set so soon, and yet there they are on my dining table! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI'm looking forward to when it gets properly dark so I can turn off the lights and view them in their full glowy majesty. <3 [stickied 19/01/15 unstickied 23/01/15- Spinky69er ]
