Pony Brag Arena / Deflocked Unicorns Finished!
« on: January 11, 2013, 05:55:46 PM »
A million years ago I posted a pic thread when I finished deflocking my pegasi. A few life interruptions later, here are the unicorns. I did Buttons and Fifi with tighter curls, since they tend to relax over time. I also had to retouch a few eyes and symbols in spots.

Since there are so few of them in the So Soft set, the babies wanted to be in the pictures too, and I let them since there was room

Twist with flash on! I love love love this shade of purple and wish they had made more bold-colored ponies. But it was the 1980's and little girls were supposed to like pastels and flourescents.

Trader & Shipping Support / How long from Argentina?
« on: January 05, 2013, 06:56:20 AM »
I bought an Argie from a seller in Argentina. I paid on Nov. 26th. My window for filing a paypal claim will close in a few days.

She has not shown up. I contacted him last week, and he said that he did ship her. Should I file the paypal claim if she has not arrived within 45 days? It's been a while since I bought an Argie, so I can't remember how long it usually takes.

I would feel like a jerk filing and then the pony showing up a few days/weeks later. I realize we did just have a holiday, so the mail was slowed. Even if I re-paid him when the pony arrived, I know there would be hard feelings.

However, I paid a decent amount of money for her (this was before my poor Sid had to be hospitalized the second, more expensive time and my water heater completely and irrevocably ate it and everything had to be brought "up to code") so I really can't afford to be out that amount of money with no rare pony to show for it.

I really, really wanted that pony too  :yikes:

Pony Corral / Chap Mei Fakies?
« on: December 30, 2012, 01:32:36 PM »
So I got the blue one in a pony package from someone here or on e-bay (sorry if it was you and I don't remember!) and I found the other two on e-bay.

They are so cute. I want to know more about them! Most of what I've seen have stars as the symbol, there are a few different poses, and the pink and white ones I found in an e-bay lot have "Chap Mei" and "China" on their hooves. The blue one is a bit smaller and has nothing on her hooves but she looks like she belongs. All the ones I've seen are unicorns and have plastic manes, the wreath around their necks, and brushable tails.

The pink one's "saddle sores" came from these saddles, I think they are made to go with the ponies, though they have no company name on them anywhere.

Here is one with a G4 for size comparison.

MLP Nirvana / All 12 Birth Flowers?

Does anyone have all 12 Alternate Birth Flower ponies? Or does anyone have a picture of all 12 together? I want to see them!

Customs / Jasco: Did it change?
« on: December 29, 2012, 09:59:00 AM »
I hope this is the right place to put this, but I didn't know where else. I am back to deflocking a herd of So Softs after my "I'm moving no I'm not" hiatus

I went to use my Jasco and not surprisingly, it was dried out. So I trekked up to Lowes in this cruddy weather and bought a new can. The can design was different, but it still said "Jasco, Brushable, Semi-Paste."

When I got home, though, there was nothing pasty about it. I am trying to brush it on and it is just as thin as acetone, which I use well away from symbols like in the hairline.

Unfortunately, most of the deflocking tutorials out there are years old and do not allow for a formula change in Jasco. And nothing on the shelf looked similar.

Experiences? Suggestions?

So I completed my FSF set (one of each character, not all the variations) winning an auction for Sweet Scent Sixteen Gina earlier this week. I'm so excited to see her in person. Then I will get all of them prettied up and find a safe place (since they are fragile) to put them on display.

Then, today, I was searching e-bay like I have almost every day for 2+ years and I found one of the two plushie dogs I've been looking for since I got the darker ones as a child over 20 years ago!

It says he is 17" so I'm guessing it is the smaller one. It gives me hope that the last one is out there, too, if I am patient. I will update my signature when I get him here and know for sure, and I'll post pics with him and his "family" when I can.

Off Topic / Fashion Star Fillies and She-Ra Horses
« on: December 20, 2012, 05:47:50 PM »
I collect Fashion Star Fillies as well as MLP. I remember having She-Ra (and Golden Girl, if anyone remembers her) horses as a kid, and I was wondering how they compared in size?

I know She-Ra's horses were smaller than a regular Filly, but what about the Sixteens? Side-by-side pics would be absolutely cool!

Sigs & Site Support / Photobucket What?
« on: December 07, 2012, 03:58:01 PM »
Maybe this is the wrong place, if so, mods please move.

I have my pony pics on a Photobucket account. I am using an old version of Safari on an old Mac. I go to photobucket, it shows my pics for a few seconds, then pops up something about "beta" and my browser page goes blank.

This is so frustrating, I want to post my pics in pic threads but I can't! I used the old Photobucket set up no problem. Is there any way I can use this one, or is my computer just too old to be compatible? :yikes:

Pony Corral / Caribbean Delight and Beach Belle: fluke or trend
« on: November 17, 2012, 08:22:44 PM »
http://www.ebay.com/itm/150945009928?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I'm so bummed I couldn't bid on this, but with $1500 in vet bills in the last month (and counting), I just can't do ponies right now.

But I was surprised to see how low they ended. I thought these girls usually went for at least that much EACH, around $100 for the set. Is this just a fluke low auction, or are they decreasing in value like a lot of G3's. I'm hoping the latter, because they are the last non-Breezie G3's I really want.

MLP Nirvana / Hair Match for Argie Paseo Medley
« on: October 19, 2012, 02:47:29 PM »
My super-bargain Argie Paseo Medley/Armonia arrived this week and while I think her body will clean up nicely with a good scrub, her hair is cut and unsalvageable.

Does anyone know what shade of Dollyhair or which other G1 pony her hair matches? It looks more red and less orange than my Argie yellow Peachy/Snuzzle, although that one was a rehair, too.

Pony Corral / Spreading the love to future generations!
« on: October 15, 2012, 07:45:23 PM »
Anyone who talks to me for more than a few minutes knows that one of my passions is pit bull awareness. Ever since adopting my first pittie Dante (in icon), I realized that being a responsible pit bull owner includes being an advocate and staunch defender of this misunderstood breed.

I follow a lot of pit bull and rescue-related blogs and pages online. Last week, one of the Vicktory dogs (dogs who were rescued from Michael Vick's Bad Newz kennels) posted on his blog that unfortunately, one of their foster dogs (they now run a rescue out of their home) had gotten up to mischief and partially chewed the horn off their little toddler's Twilight Sparkle.

I e-mailed "him" and let him know that while most of my ponies are packed up, I had some duplicates in my office. I mailed the little girl the Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie from the collector set that came with Nightmare Moon, and some stickers. Heard back today and she is so thrilled! I could never repay them for what they've done for our breed, but it makes me happy to spoil a child since I don't have any of my own, and foster the next generation's love of all things MLP! Who knows, maybe she'll be on these boards in another decade or so and her first ponies will be "vintage."

Pony Corral / Bubbles Love
« on: September 30, 2012, 08:15:22 AM »
Bubbles was one of the first ponies in my childhood herd, and when I found this on e-bay I thought it was just one of the cutest darn things I'd seen in a long time. Now that the listing has ended I can share  :)

Truly has been one of my favorite ponies since childhood so as soon as I found out about this girl, I knew I had to have one.

MLP Nirvana / LOL Argie Rock Ponies on e-bay
« on: September 18, 2012, 10:04:40 PM »
Dear e-bay seller that is selling each Argie rock pony loose for $600,

You are trippin, really for real.

Sincerely,
Me

They have an OBO option, wonder how they would respond if I offered something realistic.

Ahh, upon further inspection this appears to be the same seller that was discussed over in the Corral last week selling a loose Applejack for $600. At least I hope there's not more than one of them!
