Just thought I'd put it out there, Tesco have restocked their ponies:) I'm not sure if it's every store or just the one in Ayr but it's worth a look. They have tonnes of ponies on the shelves and it's mostly crystal empire stuff.

This is my latest custom merpony! I am so proud of this pony and she took such a long time.

Her tail is entirely sculpted by hand. She has been completely rehaired. Her pin curls are held in place by dressmaking pins only. I have a no glue policy when it comes to hair. The hair colours are Wisteria, Water Nixie and Starlight. Her tail has been painted with pearlescent purple paint and sealed. Her eyes have been completely repainted by hand and coated with glossy sealer and she has been finished off with two clear swarovski crystals.

Hi everyone! lately I've been really wanting to get out of University because I'd really rather be working but as everybody knows, that's not the easiest thing to do nowadays. I want to start my own business and after next Wednesday, I will know for sure if I'm going to get the funding. It is looking likely, so I would love to know exactly what everybody needs that I might be able to provide, so I know where to start.

I want to start an online shop that caters to artsy people, but specifically My little Pony Customizers like us:) On wednesday, I'm going to be presenting my business plan to a funding panel and I'm sure they're going to ask what I want to sell and what the demand is. I would love to eventually run a shop that would provide everything a customizer could need, all in one place, including hair:) I can't think of any better way to conduct market research than right here:)

So my questions are,

What products would you be interested in?

Is there something that you find really hard to find in your part of the world? (This is more aimed towards European ponies)

Do you have any suggestions for additional services/products?

Any input at all would be greatly appreciated:) Ps I'm not sure if this is in the right place but since I need input from customizers, it seemed like the best place:)

Hey all. I find myself in need of a new airbrush. I just bought myself a shiny new air compressor and it doesn't fit my airbrush!

The Airbrush itself is brand new and never used, I can send this in exchange for a new airbrush. or I have a massive box of g3 ponies that I have never gotten round to baiting or restoring...

There are about thirty in this box so I'm sure to have poses and colours you need...

I'm willing to send up to 10 ponies or an airbrush for a new airbrush.

I will upload a pic of the airbrush and ponies when photobucket is working again.

I've tried it before and it was a disaster.


My hair is in pretty bad condition at the moment. I did all my research and and watched loads of tutorials but it turned out terribly. I had to go to a hairdressers and get it fixed. She cut loads off and dyed it back to brown for me.  That was about 6 months ago. Now my hair feels much better, almost back to normal and all the frazzled ends have been trimmed. I'm back to my original length too.


My colour was still pretty uneven though so I tried a pink dye, just for fun and it's only one of those wash in, wash out ones. I expected it to give me a slight sheen of pink but it came out super bright and it covered every hair! Not that I'm complaining, it looks awesome:) I'm guessing it's because of the damage though because it didn't even touch my roots. They're dark brown, almost black, which is my natural.


I have about 3 inches of roots at the top which is my natural and I had the idea of getting someone else to bleach my roots every few months and using a temporary brown or pink dye over them while they grow in. I thought that might be better than trying all over bleaching again because I don't think my hair could take it. This way I would end up with blond hair after a couple of years or so, as long as it takes for all the brown to grow out.  I'm willing to wait this long if it means my hair stays in a reasonable condition.


Is this a good idea or am I being silly? I just really hate my natural, it's so dark and if it takes 2 years, I will do it to get rid of it.


If there are any hairdressers out there, I would be grateful for any advice. I would go to an actual salon and ask for advice but all they are interested in is getting your money from you:(

I'm jumping on the plushie bandwagon:)
This is what I have of my first one so far. She's intended to be a baby princess luna.
She's a little lopsided and you can see her stitching and her ears look more like horns than ears lol:) But I'm still dead proud of her since I can't even take up my own trousers, never mind this usually lol.
I'd be grateful for any tips or tricks:)
What could I use for the eyes? I have everything else covered but I think it would look really weird if I used fur for the eyes.

I've only ever used saran hair to reroot a custom once and the hair was lovely when it was finished but it was a nightmare to reroot! Back then though, I was using the wire method and I've upgraded to using the rehair tool now.


I have purchased another hank of saran and I'm going to try it again with the tool to see if it's any better but it just got me thinking, what everyone elses favourite kind of hair was?


And if anyone else ever had that issue with saran using the wire method or if it was just me?
