Title: Healthy Pony It's the home stretch
Post by: Crowning_Glory13 on June 19, 2016, 08:56:42 PM
Healthy pony was a 3 month challenge were arena members worked on issues with continuous support from this forum. They ranged from weight loss, to personal goals. I used to run it a lot, but moved. Well it's back because my bad habits are back and I need the support. There will also be a prize at the end!! I am un boxing my ponies so the prize at the end is a surprise.

Rules.
1. Sign ups forms need to be in before July 5th. Just post them in the forum.
2. You have to check in at least once a month.
3. The event ends September 27. My birthday so I can remember.
4. All posts need to be positive towards each other and yourself. Yes you can be sad or frustrated, but we want no one to get beat up.
5. Winner will be chosen by the participants. You will send me a pm to tell  who you think that has made the best progress towards their goal...I can not win, and you can not vote for yourself. These are kept private

The Sign Up.
1. Name:
CrowningGlory...CG

2. After 3 months you want to be where:
I want to get more tasks done in a day from cleaning, eating healthy, to cleaning ponies and animal chores. I tend to come home from work and do nothing but TV.

3. What is your plan?
I plan to make lists of the things I want to accomplish in a day.

Good luck and ask questions...I am here to be your guide.

Reminder sign up posts go right in the forum.

NOTE!
The prize winner will need votes. So here is how you get them?
1. Sign up is 5 votes.
2. You get votes for a 100% day. So if you have 10 tasks to read in a day and you did that is 100% day. Drank healthy worked out healthy stayed perfect for a whole day that is a 100% day.
3. Vote from your fellow healthy pony members. No voting for yourself. So after 3 months you vote for the pony who has exemplified this round of healthy pony:)

It's about that time. On sept 23 you will need to submit your vote for the pony on fire!

Ooh! This is awesome since I thought about doing one a while back but have been busy. I need to join since I've lost fifty five this year but have hit a plateau. Does this count as a swap though do you know or just challenge for all? My swap spots are about full.

No, this would not count as a swap as the participants are not responsible for shipping any tangible goods. This one would just be more of contest of sorts - if you don't participate then you don't.

Most questions have been answered. No this is not a swap. No one is responsible for anything but helping themselves and others being a healthy pony. I just put the prize in for fun:)

I am making my list for the day/week. Yes I am starting before the start date. You do not have to wait till JuLy 5th. The date is there to limit anyone starting too late.

The Sign Up.
1. Name:
TornadoTwist/Ilona

2. After 3 months you want to be where:
Having lost quite some body fat and get a better condition. Im quite fat around my hips and belly and I look like a pear. :C This might be related to my BC Pills and maybe because I can stress a lot. In the mean time I also want to have a fully cleaned up room. As for how much I want to loose... perhaps around 10-20 kilos?

3. What is your plan?
I want to at least exercise half an hour daily on the cycle. I can do this by watching a show so I don't get bored. I also want to quit snacking between my meals and stop drinking soda and only tea (without sugar) Except for in the weekends and when I'm on holiday which will be soon. I'm free of school now till August so their should be plenty of time to clean my room.

Ooh, perfect timing!

1. Name
Harmonie

2. After 3 months you want to be where:
I want to completely stop drinking any pop (soda, for those of you not from my region ), and switch over to non-sugary/sweetened drinks.

I want to improve my digestive health. I'll spare the details, but this is a big deal for me.  >_<

I want to lose weight, especially belly fat.

3. What is your plan?
Thankfully for me, from talking to my doctor and my oboe instructor (who is a big health person), these issues go hand-in-hand with my excessive drinking of pop (with all of that caffeine, and sugar... probably calories, as well).

I've already started! I've been switching over to unsweetened Sparkling Water. Over this last week, I have cut down to one can of pop a day, which is a drastic reduction from beforehand. But my goal is to eliminate pop altogether!

I plan on improving my diet with more vegetables and the like... We'll see how that goes.  Also taking fiber supplements, as my doctor directed.  >_<

They also tell me to exercise. We'll see how this goes after I move into college. If they have an indoor facility, I may take up some walking. If not, it'll have to wait until after this challenge is over when it cools off. >.<

I'm going to join! I have a goal I'm working on, it's nice to share about and encourage each other.

1. Name:
Kiwi

2. After 3 months you want to be where:
--I am starting an Etsy shop for my crafts, just a side hobby store to see how it goes (plus I can still make things without worrying about storing them, if they sell). I want to have it stocked and running.

--Re-doing the pony room. Everything is mapped out for painting and shelving, the long tedious part will be putting everything back in and sorting/purging. I want it to be organized in a way that will stay for the long term (and support pony growth) instead of boxes/bags sitting on the floor.

3. What is your plan?
--I have a goal, and an immediate to do list (within the new few weeks). Need to map out other steps along the way, and figure out projects that I can do in a reasonable time to get the store stocked with inventory - I tend to do bigger more complex projects, but for now need to focus on some smaller simpler ones. Then will also come the social media / marketing / promoting / etc.

--Keep working at it steadily, instead of just ignoring it. Break it into different sections/categories, then maybe if I get too stuck on one I can get another one done instead. My problem is half-starting a bunch of things and then getting so confused and disorganized, nothing gets done.

Yay! This is nice because I'm trying to build up more muscle and get toned a bit so I don't look like a skeleton! Personally I've been trying to swim and jog more. I didnt really know just HOW many steps I take when I go shopping with my friends until i got a pedometer too so that's always a nice bonus as well!

I love this idea, and I'll be signing up. I did this once before and benefited so much from it, having other people to talk to and to bounce ideas and tips off of, and it really helped bolster my confidence.

The Sign Up.
1. Name:
Kitkumi

2. After 3 months you want to be where:
Overall I want to be at a point where I have dropped some weight (lets say.... 15lbs? I want to say more, but I'm not sure 30lbs is a realistic goal for three months), and am more active EVERY day, instead of just sporadically. Along with that I want to spend less time online or watching TV and more time working on my etsy shop as well as my writing. I want to build up my confidence and self esteem, so that when my picture gets taken I don't inwardly flinch and then never actually look at the pictures. It's a lot of work, but even getting started on the building blocks of these things will make me feel pretty good.

3. What is your plan?
I plan to introduce much more structure in to my life, starting with the time I go to bed and the time I wake up. I would like to do away with the late nights that I'm used to so I don't sleep all day. From there I'll figure out a good routine that I can build on regarding times of day I exercise, when I eat and what I eat, and such, and keep track of all the things I do eat to try and curb snacking and hopefully help balance out my digestive health. To keep my motivation up regarding projects, I'll break them into batches so that I can streamline processes, while also making sure to take short breaks where I get up and either use the treadmill for ten minutes or just walk around the house for a bit, so I'm not sitting for hours.

Be able to touch my toes in these poses:
Forward-facing bend
Staff Pose

3. What is your plan?
Work on my jogging form and jog a minimum of 3 x a week :frolic:

Minimize carb intake and focus on wholesome plant-based diet
Starbucks/Second Cup  0-1 times a week
Same with potato/corn chips, fries, and pizza

Practice yoga on off days of jogging and stretching after work out.

I love this idea! I am not as active as I'd like to be on this forum, but hopefully that will change :) So happy to help support all of you!

I got my business card template 99% finished - just have to wait on the final image to put it in there, then I can get those printed. The delay is that I'm stitching the banner that will be the top/main image, so I have to get that done first. :P Then do the cards, get them printed (1 week), in the meantime finish the donation project I have, get the cards back, mail the donation off along with the card (and pray to everyone and everything that Canada Post doesn't strike/lock out - this will be a large enough shipment, I don't want to pay courier...unless they are cheaper...hmmm, must research that).

My other project is re-doing the pony room - paint and wall shelving on one wall. Most will be tackled next week, and I have plans of how to go about it, I'll just have to move my butt afterwards to get it all put back in. That will take the longest as I'm also sorting and purging some of the excess ponies, downsizing a bit. Then it'll be the selling of everything.

2. After 3 months you want to be where:

Health: Last year after my divorce I started a huge weight loss journey. I've managed to improve my eating and gotten to the point where I eat more less processed foods. I basically don't drink soda's anymore either for the most part. I've hit a plateau though at 55 pounds lost, and I've been stuck here for several months. I need to adjust my routine and lose more weight. The goal is to lose enough where I feel comfortable to ride again and buy a new riding horse.

Work: I've had issues planning so much for school stuff when teaching four different grades. I plan to organize things better and have a lot of things ready to start the school year.

Writing and Reading time:
I sometimes forget to take time out for myself and do the things I want to do like read more privately for myself and to work on my personal novel.

Nevada: I'm working on improving Nevada's muscles and tolerance of things as she develops.

3. What is your plan?

A. My sister and I are joining a gym together for the summer since we both teach and have time. I'm going into the diet clinic that I've been going to and see what needs to be changed.

B. Starting next week I'm going to spend some time each day planning for this coming school year.

C. Making a list of books and start reading on my kindle, especially re-reading Harry Potter over the summer.  I also have a personal novel I'm writing and plan to work on at least an hour a week

D. I'm starting by exposing Nevada to new things each week, and we started by using tarps this week.

Wow everyone sounds so excited. It took me forever to get organized. Lists have been my friend. I always put easy things into them so I can get that early satisfaction and excitement to try something else.

Not a good day for me. I had a horrible day at work. I can tolerate a lot. My higher ups have been listening in on my phone calls, (I am a receptionist) they have come with corrections on how I proceed through the conversation that they would only know by listening in. I have mixed up a few people (yes needs some improvement) but it has not been 2 weeks and I need to know 50 people with similar names and their extensions....I am bound to make a mistake. I just work very hard and take pride in what I do....now I am scared someone is watching every move and will fire me for it.

Sigh...thanks for the open up part. This is why I like this adventure...it helps cope with the struggles. So it's a me day.

Well, I pulled a muscle in my back overdoing it at the swimming pool.  I missed a driving lesson but my instructor came round and talked to me over tea instead, we get on really well.  I still managed to apply for a volunteering opportunity this week, sign up for conferences and training and I found/was sent two dream jobs to apply for.  I'm having a birthday party tomorrow and invited a lot of friends to my tiny flat, working on Sunday then back onto the applications.

3. What is your plan?
Try to stay motivated, Be better about my every day to do list. Go for a walk when I'm visiting my bf even if that means a short walk down the road and back without him to stretch my legs. That's been a big issue for me lately, he's wanted to stay in while I want to go out.

Project number 2 (pony room re-do) is progressing :) Saturday we went to Ikea and got all the shelves and paint, yesterday we emptied the room and did some prep, and today finished the prep and we've done the spot spackle and priming. Letting that dry for a few hours before starting the paint. So excited! Will look so much better when it's done. Tomorrow will be clean up and moving some of the large pieces back in, and Wednesday will be putting up the shelves. :green:

Project number 1 is going slower but it's still moving. Working on stitching the banner for my store logo.

Everyone is doing great and we haven't even hit our start date. I am making an adjustment to my entry.

For anyone new you can make adjustments. You do not change your entry form. You just change what my work....I stink at planning out my week. So I have just made a lit of to dos for the day. My goal is to finish all of them. So far I am about 3 for about 5 tasks. I will start posting my lists once we get to our start date.

Anyone can still sign up. It is not a swap. Prize is a vote basis. I take care of it. Just be supportive and post on your progress:)

2. After 3 months you want to be where:

Health Goals:

-- I want to be consistently going for a walk at least twice a week.

-- I want to replace the chips / chocolate I eat with fruit, veggies or whole grain crackers at least 3 times a week.

-- More water, less soda / pop. (in general)

-- I want to remember to take the pills I bought to improve cartilage growth to help decrease the effects of my arthritis.

Project Goals:

-- Provided I succeed in obtaining proper approval, I want to successfully host -- well, technically -be- hosting -- the Anime & Manga swap here at the Arena.

-- I want to have a playable demo of the RPG I am making in RPGMaker ready to be tested in a public beta. To truly succeed, this would involve having a website for the game, doing some marketing so people will play it, and -- obviously! -- programming the game's scripts, making its maps, implementing its battle system, etc.

3. What is your plan?

Health Plans:

Walking: It's summer and my latest arthritis flare has mostly cleared up, so getting outside shouldn't be as much of a problem. Most of my 'walks' will likely be around grocery stores, walmart or the mall since flat surfaces are the safest for me, but as long as I'm out and moving the point of the goal is being met.

Eating Less Junk: The getting out more goal will actually help with this one. If I am there, I can make sure that healthier snacks are being picked rather than getting chips / chocolate from the convenience store since it's 'easier'. To be clear: not planning to cut all sweets / salts, just wanna substitute some of them.

More Water / Taking the pills: These are things I've already started doing; I'm putting them here because upkeep is important. The plan--keep doing them.

Project Plans:

Anime / Manga Swap: I need to edit the application with the feedback I have received from my potential participants. I also need to talk to my bf to confirm that my box can be mailed to his home / that he will be willing to help me put a box together if Canada Post has / is still having problems by the time shopping / shipping is due. Once these things are done I need to send the application information to a mod to see whether the swap will be approved. Provided that happens I want to either make or commission artwork to break up various sections of the thread's main post, and I want to put together a series of weekly questions to ensure that my participants will have good reason to check the thread regularly since the time frame of the swap is designed to be long term.

RPG Demo: This is a huge project, so the main focus will be on breaking it down to manageable chunks. Right now I am working on designing all of the maps. I am adapting a novella and turning it into a game, so I do have some direction for plot, characters, etc. Other things that will need to be done include selecting music, scripting cut scenes and events, implementing the battle system and balancing the heroes and enemies throughout the length of the campaign. I will also need to look for places to advertise my demo, start a blog to gain interest from potential players during development, find a reliable way to allow people to download the demo and decide whether i want to release the book the game is based on alongside the game since there are some differences.

...Whew! That was a lot of typing.

My party went really well except I was a bit spaced out from the painkillers I was taking for my back. I haven't had that many good birthday parties in my life and several disastrous milestones and birthdays previously due to family and relationship problems.  So i feel confident in my support network right now which is fantastic.

Downside currently and this is a biggie... My ex boyfriend and I split up about three weeks ago but its complicated. So that is going to continue to be a downer until iether I get over him or we get back together. Because the break up was circumstantial, it isn't going to be that easily resolved. I need to stop crying and smoking (I know, right?@!) And start exercising again now my back is better.

Positivity sandwich I went to a professional conference today and hopefully didn't annoy anyone...

So I'd been stuck in a boyfriend only hole socializing lately which I love my guy but I need friends that aren't him. So I worked on that.

Pony room is pretty much complete! Room is painted, shelves are up, furniture is in (and rearranged). Loving the colour so much! Just putting the ponies and everything else back in, which will take more time, as I'm also sorting through for any I want to purge out.

Posting some pics below, if anyone wants to see. The pics don't highlight all the issues that room had, it looks soooooooooo much better. No pics of ponies yet, I've only started putting them back in, figuring out arrangements and such as I go as I'm also organizing my craft / Etsy store supplies.

The pics are big so I'll break them up into spoilers...some are panoramics of the room

BEFORE
Spoiler
You can see bits of the issues on the right near the light switch - marker, pen, holes in the walls. It was all over the room.

Cleaned, spackled, spot primed, taped.... all ready and prepped for the painting. Seriously the room looked a lot better just at this point, having the writing covered up and holes filled in.

Title: Re: Healthy Pony Sign up July 5.
Post by: ringwraith10 on July 01, 2016, 08:17:32 PM
I want to do this, but I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow so I won't be very active this coming week... Here's my form:

1. Name:
Kirsten / Ringwraith10

2. After 3 months you want to be where:
Drinking less cokes (at most one per week), and I want to lose about thirty pounds.

3. What is your plan?

Be more aware of my need to quit drinking coke and stop drinking them (instead I will drink orange juice and water). To lose weight: walk my dog in the park every day for about half an hour a day (which is the equivalent of about 1.2 miles) OR on bad-weather days play "Just Dance" for at least half an hour.

Kiwi the color of the room is awesome...fav color:) I am so glad everyone is getting excited and going for it:) I have been having a hard progress....my job is hard. I am only a receptionist...should be easy. Day two made a mistake and was yelled at. After week one I was yelled at for not paging someone when I had 5 other calls and did not have time...they still got the call. Week 2 I was yelled at for asking people if they are available for a call. Thought that was polite but I guess not. So I am not even to the 30 day mark and each day I wonder if I am getting fired. I have worked as a receptionist for years. Learning a new place is hard, but I also feel this is too ridged of an environment.

Whew had to get that out. I am looking to another job. So not getting my desired requests done. As of July 5th I will be taking out coffee. Working on being healthy.

Count me in on this :)

Name: retrogradenova

After 3 months you want to be where:
I've struggled with an artistic block for quite a while now, sometimes working 20 hours straight or a week straight on things and then not working on anything for weeks in between. As a result of that massive frustration, I've developed a  habit of binge watching television shows with my friends online. I want to unplug the usb that's practically wired into my head and step away from the computer more often. And I'd like to get to a point where I'm working on my art projects more frequently, more efficiently, and to where I'm feeling overall more comfortable with my own art. Stop eating so much fast food and maybe lose 20lbs.

Side goals:
Get one sketch a day done.
Get one custom pony finished every 2 weeks.
Get one full illustration done a month.

What is your plan?
First thing: Fix my sleep cycle to something where I'm awake during the day.
Stock the fridge with actual food.
Set aside 1 hour a day for sketching no matter what.
Spend 4-6 hours a day working on art, writing, or reading.
Probably some other stuff that will come to mind later.

1. Name:
Bandit

2. After 3 months you want to be where:
Strengthen my core and be more flexibile. I also want to lose a solid 5-10lbs. I just want to take it slow so I can make this a habit. If I force myself too much, too fast it will just be temporary.

3. What is your plan?
First week I will print giant calendars and plan out specific days that I will be active. I will take it slow at first and maybe only do something 1-2x a week for a few minutes but by the end I want to be active 4 days for about 15-30 min. I know basic yoga, and I have a activity sheet for strengthening core muscles, and I have a hula hoop! (I love the hula hoop). I will also do either hcg or a 17 day diet for the weight loss. It's something that worked really well for me in the past and doesn't yo-yo afterwards.. for me.

I'm going to be a bit slow on replies the next few days, my father ended up in ER last night and they are keeping him for observation. He seems to be doing fine just had a partial blockage in the small intestine which that can easily turn fatal if not kept an eye on. At his age no hospital would think about letting him leave elderly can be stubborn.  ^.^  I'm hoping he'll be out by Thursday but really who knows.

I lost about 15 pounds last spring summer, and have kept it off, but plateaued and am still struggling to lose the last 10. I'm very proud that I've made healthy sustainable lifestyle changes, and I want to continue that method- changing my thoughts in order to change my behaviors.

3. What is your plan?
-reintegrate strength training in a way that I enjoy
-sing up to run a 10k
-learn some new recipes for preparing healthy (not boring) meals

I have successfully completed designs for approximately 60% of the maps I need for the game demo.

I had strawberries, two bananas and a sliced cucumber this week.

I have spoken to my bf about the mail issue and he is willing to help if it is not resolved.

I am still taking my pills, drinking lots of water, and eating yogurt every day.

My hips have been sore, however, which is making getting around a bit of a pain.

Anyone have tips for waking up and getting out of bed?

I usually wake up before my alarm clock but just lay there with my eyes closed. It is really hard to convince myself to get up at 5am... but if I did, I could utilize the time...
I just... can't do it for some reason.

I gotta agree, that tactic used to work really well for me when I was in college. Putting it on a desk or dresser to where you have to actually get up to go hit the snooze button really starts to get you moving. It can also help to set the alarm really loud to where you just can't ignore it. That's what I do now. My husband sleeps through the alarm daily so if I don't wake up first and nudge him to hit the alarm I end up with a migraine after 15 minutes. If you have thin walls, a really loud alarm clock and social obligations to not wake the neighbors/roommate/children/what have you can be a good motivator. :)

I feel like I'm off to a good start this week. I meant to start my new routine and check in last week, but the start of the week I felt just good enough to leave my bed in favor for laying on the couch all day for the first three days (felt sick as a dog; not a fun time lol), and then the last half of the week I was out of town playing at the Pokemon National Tournament (so I'm glad I felt horrible at the start of the week rather than the last half!)

Yesterday I woke up at nine, which was a little later than I meant to (was aiming for 8am), but it was a late night on Monday spending time with friends, since it was a holiday. I limited my morning internet time to only an hour, then started on morning exercises. I chose to do stair climbing, so I ran our staircase about fifteen to twenty times and stopped when my legs started to shake lol. Breakfast was a yogurt, and I limited my snacking down to only two items throughout the day, which was a big improvement (a snack size bag of popcorn and a pack of peanut butter crackers). Dinner was homemade tacos, and I only had two. I did cheat and have a left over waffle that was hanging out in the fridge before bed, but I think that is because my stomach is no where near on board with the new limited food choices yet.

I also chose to weigh myself on the scale yesterday, something I have never done when I'm trying to be healthy because it is typically so much of a punch in the gut. But I decided this time, I don't want to just go along THINKING I'm doing good, I want to KNOW. So that if something isn't working, I can change things up. Right now, I weigh 234lbs (first time I've posted THAT on the internet XD ). It was both a painful, and pleasant number, because the last time I had my weight taken I was up about ten pounds. So I feel much more encouraged that weight loss is possible if I just find a routine for me and stick with it.

I wake up before my alarm (15-30 min before) so that doesn't help.  I can't convince myself to get out of bed before it goes off (which I turn off 2 min before it goes off because I hate the noise). I'm up , I just can't get out of bed... if I went to the other side of the room to turn it off early-- I risk sleeping in.

If you are naturally waking up too early and want to use that time, take a cue from your body and set the alarm for when you are physically waking up. That said, many people like having a few minutes to lay and think before moving.

This sounds really positive.  Strict diets don't work for me, but I've learned a few important things.  Firstly, don't be afraid of saturated fats as long as they are from unprocessed sources like bacon, butter and full fat cream.   I've given up processed fat and sugar.  I've even given up yoghurt because I find that I can eat cream with everything.  I don't eat sweets or soda or eat biscuits or packet foods because they contain processed fats and sugars, but I make my own biscuits and cakes occaisionally. I also eat butter and olive oil instead of spreads.  I hope this helps!  I also replace meat with vegetarian meals many times a week and eat fruit because it seems to keep my digestion healthier.  So it's more of a lifestyle change and I'm quite happy being a 'food snob' and framing it that way.  I even cut out instant coffee because it's 'processed'. I also replaced snacks with protein shakes for a while that just contain dairy protein, sucralose sweetener and strawberry flavouring but I'm off those for a few days.  They fill you up without making you put on weight. Exercise tones me up and tightens my skin after the weight loss so it makes me feel more confident about my body.

:) That's the weird thing. If I change my alarm,  my body will figure it out and adjust within a day. I'll "sleep in" if I set it to 6:30 on the weekend... I'd rather not set my alarm any earlier though. 5:30 am is too early as it is ><. It's just if I wake up at 5:00 I know there is a 90% chance I won't go back to sleep. So it seems like a waste to just lay there (but feels so nice ^^)... I just have no motivation. ;_;

Got my dad back at home today :) now I can have a big sigh of relief because I would have been commuting everyday of pony fair and hour and 40 each way to feed the kitties. I haven't been walking like I planned but I've been up and about more than usual since double the chores more to do. To be fair eventually it will all be my responsibility so I should be able to do it now.

Congrats! :D Staying away from pop is hard, but so worth it in the end.

I managed to completely stay away from snacking yesterday, and took an hour and a half walk last night (Pokemon fan here; I have a feeling the new Pokemon Go is going to be VERY helpful in my 'be more active' goals' lol.)

My room is cleaning up very nicely! I have so much more space and I've decided to pack away all the small things and replace them with large single objects. My Collectors Mirrors Edge figure is standing beautifully on my desk right now. <3 I really need to measure my weight soon but I'm kinda nervous, one good thing though is that because my wisdom teeth got removed, I can't eat cookies. x3 But overal I'm already eating way less then before so thats nice. :)

With Pokémon Go coming out soon here (I hope) I have also time to go out in the weekend with by BF to start collecting.

I am so sorry folks this will be long. I have been behind in my posts and response for healthy pony and my internet bugged out on me last night.

A. I have collected the names of the members playing it is 14. If I missed count let me know.
B. Each sign up is 5 votes. You get 1 vote from me if you have an awesome post. I updated my first post with ideas. Is it super positive to others or yourself you get a cot. Did you reach a goal or took on something hard you get a vote. I started July 6 and I have given some votes so keep it up. The more you post will not help you.
C. At the end you will vote for the best healthy pony. Each vote is 5. More on this when we come down to the end.

BanditPony - tips to get out of bed. Set a morning project. I love to knit so if I woke up before my alarm I would knit a few rows. Maybe it could be a level on a game or make a delicious breakfast. It might make you more motivated.

Kitumi - Pokemon tournament is cool!!! You got your weight down so all you can do is go down as you are working towards it. I have won beauty pageants at 180lbs so you look amazing now and you will continue to do so:)

Jazzmatazz - I am so glad your dad is doing well. I know the struggle my dad and father in law are going through health issues. Even if you can not be healthy due to these situations keeping it in your mind helps to try and make the next day healthier.

Tornado twist - do you want to clean my house? I know it can be scary to weight in but you will feel the joy when you loose even 1 pound:)

And now me.
Yesterday I made a list of 7 things to get done after I got off work. I was able to get 3 things done. My husband wanted to go to a social event so I wasn't able to reach the goal. On a good note I did not just sit in front of the TV.

Today I have 10 things to accomplish. This post is number 2. When I make my list I try and do hard, fun, and repetitive tasks. I have work out, piano practice, play with ponies, check here and so forth. Somethings I want to make habit. Once they are they will not be a task and I can add other tasks.

Keep going everyon

Thanks :) My goal weight, outside of healthy pony, is actually 180. The last time I had my weight checked was about five months ago at a doctors check up, so it was really a positive lift when I checked it myself to see that just the few changes I had made to my life style between then and now had begun to help. In the long run, I think it is going to make this easier to stick with.

My room is cleaning up very nicely! I have so much more space and I've decided to pack away all the small things and replace them with large single objects. Ooo, I love cleaning up spaces :D It is always such a great feeling to get an area organized and clean, and in my experience it's a feeling that lasts because every time you see it you are reminded of all the work you accomplished. I do hope that your wisdom teeth removal went smoothly and is healing nicely. I remember when I had mine out. Not the worst time, but I could think of better things I rather have done! lol

Everyone is doing great so far!

This weekend hubby is working most of Saturday, so I plan to work on the pony room more - putting stuff back in. And actually organizing / photographing / listing the things for sale.

Store stuff will be finishing my banner (almost there, just gotta finish whipstitching the edges), photographing it, finishing business card template and submitting that order, then framing and hanging the banner. If we do D&D I might even be able to get my business card holders done too!

Sorry to have been so quiet all! We drove from NYC to Chicago for the Fair, and am *just now* taking a moment of repose to check in! I did a great job with road trip snacks and meals out- but I didn't pack my gym stuff because I know I won't take time out from the Fair to work out.

Instead, I've lined up a running buddy at home! Our shared goal is 5 miles in 50 minutes... which is totally do-able! I currently run about 4.5 miles outside in around 45-50 minutes (depending on traffic lights!) Off to a great start with small, manageable steps.

...you guys are rock stars. I'm so glad this thread exists! <3

I have been feeling so down that I've not managed to get much done - just about maintaining things though.  I last spoke to me ex on Monday night so I'm still in the worst stages.  I'm trying to be hopeful that I can get going again soon and not sink into a worse mental state.  I'm working on things around my home but struggling to concentrate on growing any career stuff or on doing computer work.  It's a setback, but I'll keep updating.

Well I got some stuff ticked off my list, not everything I was hoping for (list was a bit ambitious LOL).
Got my store banner finished, photographed, framed & hung up, and business cards ordered. :) Yay!
Did some pony organizing - room doesn't really look any different or any further unpacked since it was mostly moving around the ponies already in there, but it's coming along.
More will get done next weekend!

I've managed to get out and walk for anywhere between a half hour and an hour and a half every day since Thursday, which is a huge improvement for me. I'm thinking about taking today off from any long walks, just to give my legs a day to recover, but if I do I plan to focus on strengthening my arms with weight lifting. Oh, and yesterday I spent the day with my mom running some errands and we ended up at one of those frozen yogurt places. I managed to pass on the yogurt/ice cream and got just a little sorbet instead, which I -think- was the better option lol (it was too hot to completely say no to everything XD )

@Raspberry Brulee - I hope that you had a good time at the fair! That is one heck of a drive to make though, I'm sure. I know that snacks and meals when on the road can be hard to manage, but it sounds like you had no problem :D Also congrats on finding a running buddy. It is so much nicer to go out for runs and walks when you have someone with you.

@Artemesia Floc - Sorry to hear you feeling out of it *many hugs* I read this online somewhere once, but when you are feeling down or finding it hard to get motivated, don't focus on a list of things to do, like 'I need to get up and go make lunch and then wash the dishes' because it can be super overwhelming. Instead, kick the 'need' out of the way and focus just on the first step ('I'm going to get up'). Then start thinking about the next step, but only the very next step. (I hope I explained that well) I know for me, it helps get me going because it feels like I'm accomplishing way more because I'm meeting more tiny goals along the way.

@Kiwi - I have done that very thing before, where I get to the end of a day and look at my list of things to do and go 'maaayybe I over planned' lol. It sounds like you got a lot done though for your store. And pony rooms are so funny that way! I can work in my own all day, organizing and shuffling things around as I decide on how I want to set things up and store things, and like clock work the end of the first day looks like I haven't done anything at all lol. But when I get everything just the way I want it, it always comes out looking great, so I'm sure that once you've finished it will look amazing :D

So Week 1 is done! I've decided to kinda go by weeks since most of my goals are more a weekly than daily thing. Hope no one minds that. Or are we supposed to be checking in daily?

I've  had a really up and down sort of week, mostly up though. I was able to get my sleep cycle fixed really quickly which was nice. I was even able to keep it on track after my friend insisted on watching movies until really late at night one night. I haven't restocked my fridge yet, but I've been limiting the fast food. And I've stopped having any soda, though that wasn't really on my list, it's a nice side result of having my sleep cycle fixed. Once downside to the week, I've been getting headaches nearly every day. I'm not sure why, it's bee a really long time since I've had headaches in such frequency. It might be time for a trip to the optometrist.

In terms of my goals in art this week, I did get a sketch done each day this week for a total of 6 and they all turned out pretty good. A few of them I ended up working on for more than the allotted hour because I couldn't stop and leave them in an unfinished state. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so this is hard for me. I really need to get my speed up so I'm going to work towards completing sketches in under an hour the best I can. I didn't get a pony done this week like I wanted due to unforseen complications, but I set myself a two week deadline so technically I won't be behind on her until next week. I was just trying to push myself.

Because I really want to work on my productivity. My weight side goal of losing 20lbs isn't the biggest priority to me. Honestly I figure some of that will come from just being more active during the day away from the computer and feeling more confident in myself and my artwork. But just in case it doesn't, my friend talked me into trying Pokemon Go and I'm using that as motivation to get out of the house and walk more. Over the weekend I walk 2.3 miles. With South Carolina's summer weather I feel like that is a little bit of accomplishment as normally I only like to go for walks in the winter months.  I weighed myself on Tuesday to find I'm at an appalling 374.4 lbs. I'm really hoping to see it start to go down. Today though my legs are screaming at me from all that walking (It's a good scream :D ) so I'm going to focus on building some upper body muscle.

I feel like I'm forgetting something, but I can't remember what it is.

@Kitkumi thank you i will try that!  Sorbet can be really nice especially when it's hot.

I managed to clear a load more stuff out of my parent's house.  In fact soon the box room will be clear and they can turn it into a bathroom, which is what they've wanted to do for about five years   I also picked up a big bin liner full of clothes from their loft and put it away in my wardrobe, cleaned my kitchen, did the laundry and went shopping.  So a quite normal level of daily activity, surprisingly.

Trouble is there is now an extra box of clutter at my house and I'm panicking because I have no more storage space.  Oh dear.

Arte: I am in a similar boat....just feeling depressed and unmotivated. Normally ponies make feel better but they haven't for a while. I do know a good cry or scream sometimes helps.

Kitkumi: thanks for some good advice. Good job on choosing a better option. Saying no is hard but going healthy can be end harder.

Retrogradenove: you post how ever much you want. More does not mean better or more votes. I am looking at content of what is posted. Short walks can be just as good as long ones. Great job with the drawing. Even if you plan 6 and only do 2. Making the 2 to your expectations is way better then 6 pictures that does not have your flare. I make myself play piano for 15 a day. I also map out what I need to practice. Some days I am having fun and I put in more time. Others I make it to the 15 and call it good.

As for me....sigh. Tonight planned to spend with the hubby. We have been having conflict in schedules lately. He was supposed to have the night off but a while back he promised to pick up a shift so he now works tonight. Just missing the hubby. My lists are doing good. One item on my list was not to have coffee at work. I have been clean since we started. I did get lucky as our coffee machine is broke. My new goal is no extras. I tend to spend money on junk food. I could buy ponies but no it tends to be junk food. Today was not good...so day 1 starts tomorrow. On a positive is I had 8 items on my list and I will get 7 done. The lists are helping. I need to practice more piano but I hate having people hear me. Just got to get crafty with my time.

Everyone is really doing great.

Yikes sorry for not replying so fast. :( I've been kinda busy these days, Im honestly not feeling a 100% though, quite getting depressed as I'm scared I wont achieve anything, I still have to design some of my OC's but I feel like it's just not worth it. Of course this isn't true but yeah... I will clean my room tommorow some more and next Monday I'm off to Austria for some days with my parents and BF. l Hopefully I can get some rest and fun. :) I've been looking forward it since last year. XD

Way to go Tornado Tist on travel...I love to travel:) I am with you on depression. It's been hard for me for the last week or two. I just can't shake. I have found energy in doing something fun. I have been wanting to organize my knitting projects and now that I have started I found some more patterns to work on. Not 100% better but found some joy for moments.

CHALLENGE!! I am throwing in a challenge! You can gain FIVE VOTES!

Here is the challenge. You have to so something for 7 days in a row. It can be anything. Posting here, or walking 100 steps, not having something for a week, anything.

For attempting the challenge you get 3 votes.

For reaching the challenge you get 5 votes!

For example. You gave up candy for 7 days, and on day 3 you snuck a piece, you have to start over. The challenge ends at the end of healthy pony so you get to try as much as it takes!

To sign up you post your challenge. It's no fun to cheat, so you post truthfully. You can post a slip up if you like. You will also need to post when you reached the challenge:)

My challenge: I am giving up junk food and paying for anything extra. So no pony buying, no getting unhealthy food, or random item I think I need. I want to spend no money, nor eat junk food for 7 days.

Wish me luck.

My challenge: I am going to get work done on at least one piece of jewelry a day for my etsy store for the week (I'm not aiming to get a piece completely done in a day, it's just not possible, but at least get through one stage of the work a day. So either prep-work, cutting, cleaning, painting, or wrapping).

Had a pretty rough off week this week. Things started decent, but then I had to house-sit for my parents four days in a row while they had roof work done, so I didn't get anything for my self accomplished, and was snacking way more frequently because a) i was bored to tears and didn't even realize I was doing it, and b) they have snack food in their kitchen lol. Couple that with some news regarding family, and these last two days I haven't hardly even gotten out of bed :/ I'm going to aim for Saturday to be a 'refresh' day, and see if I can't get back on track by Monday. I'll also start my challenge on Monday, so I can set out at the start of the week.

Unfortunately I cannot do a challenge for the upcoming days as I'm away. :P This friday I went to the beach with my dad and we walked about 12 kilometers. And yesterday Pokémon Go was released and this morning I walked a total of 5 kilometers already with my BF. :D

Just a reminder with the challenge. You start when you want to start it. You just have to do something for 7 days in a row. This is hope that we can make a habit out of something. You have until healthy pony is over to try and complete it:)

Kitkumi: I really want to see your jewelry. It sounds so pretty. I hear you on board eating. I got into knitting and that has helped. I try and have something to do to keep me distracted. It took a long time but I started to drink a cup of water before I checked on what snack I wanted. It sometimes took away the desire or I would grab a cracker verses the king size candy bar.

TornadoTwist: way to go on the walking. I have a friend who loves Pokemon Go! She is doing more out door activities with it. So good for you:)

Arte: I know your mental state can be hard. I fight with mine too. Before I would go to interviews I would write down good things about me. "I am smart, I did good on my resume, I work very hard, I did good on my make-up, etc" so I would read before my interview over and over again. I would keep the positive vibe with me through the interview.

I left my daily planner at work so I did not do great with my list over the weekend. My depression is not improving. I know mostly the cause. My husband and I hold opposite schedules and I miss him. He comes home late and I do not sleep well without him and so my lack of sleep is getting the best of me. My job is hell. I am looking, but it is not as easy. I have only been at my job for 30 days and each week I have been seriously been yelled at for some mistake. I fear each day is my last. It is very hostile environment. I just wish I could find something that matched the pay and benefits. I just keep trying to do my best. I have had to unravel a knitting project for the 3rd time...I am a perfectionist. I do eventually want to sell my projects.

On a good note the lists have been helping me keep motivation and get more done with my knitting projects.

OK I will try to do job related activities for the next seven days.  This is day 1 because I just finished another job application.  I will search different places for job adverts every day and keep up my fitness because I know it's good for my confidence.

Thank you I will try that.  I've tried thinking of anwsers to common questions and writing those down but they are often wrong and I just get stuck trying to remember things. This idea sounds much better.

I'm sorry to hear about your depression and husband's schedule.  I had a semi-nocturnal boyfriend for a while and it sucked.

I think I'm ready to start my challenge!  One of my three goals for healthy pony was to reintegrate strength training back into my workouts in a way that I enjoy (because if I don't enjoy something, then I won't do it!) I'd like to start with a 1 week core clinic!

One of the reasons I struggle with weight training is that it makes me feel more dense and heavy in my body (I prefer to feel feminine and flexible)...but strong abs and back support good posture, and never add bulk, so it seems like an ideal place to start. I've pinned a bunch of core workouts, including the classing "8-Minute Abs" so for seven days in a row, I'm going to add some core training to my workout ...and FOR YOU GUYS <3 I'll do it wearing pony shirts! ::brace yourselves, gym selfies incoming!::

Thank you so much for this challenge Crowning Glory, this really is a great way to establish new habits.

My other goals were to sign up to run a 10k with a friend and learn some new recipes for preparing healthy (not boring) meals...those still need some work but I'm still running regularly and at least I've started.

Yesterday was a pretty good start to my challenge. I finished up a pendant that had been sitting on my work desk for a few weeks, and then this morning for day two I sat down and tackled a keychain that had been sitting there for just as long that I wasn't sure how best to make. Both pieces were requests from a friend of mine, so I figured that I should start my challenge by working through my small backlog of items before I started working on new items to add to my etsy store. And just for fun, some pictures!

I also got out and walked yesterday for about an hour, though it was too hot and humid to go any longer than that. I shouldn't have gone out mid day though because I ended up getting way to over heated and felt sick the rest of the day. Upside, I felt bad enough that dinner was super light, and I had no want to snack at all XD Silver lining? I'm feeling back to normal this morning though, and I plan to put more focus on exercise I can do in the house through the day, and then go out to walk once it gets cooler in the evening.

@Raspberry Brulee- Healthy cooking can be so much fun, and if you find the right recipes boring is not an issue. Pulled turkey is one of my favorite dishes to make, just because it is really lean and filling, and you can turn it in to a million other things (like soups, sandwiches, stuffed vegetables, etc.) so the flavor profile doesn't get boring. Also congrats on running regularly! I'm sure by the end healthy pony you'll be more than ready to sign up for a 10k :D

@banditpony - Sorry to hear that things aren't going well at the moment *many hugs* Hopefully starting a new routine will help shake off some of the bad and replace it with good!

@Artemesia Floc - I hope that your job hunting is going well. Applying for a job has always freaked me out and can be really stressful, but Crowning_Glory13's idea of repeating positive things about yourself before hand is a super great idea! And if it is still stressful, read your positive notes about yourself out loud. Sometimes hearing someones voice, even if it is just your own, can really help decrease negative feelings.

So my general plan was to post my updates on Mondays. I've been putting off posting for the last two days, that may give you a hint as to how good my week was.

It started out really well, I was doing a bit of walking, got daily sketches done the first two days. Wednesday started out good, but as the day went on lots of little things got in my way of getting things I wanted to do done. For example the post office closes early on Wednesdays, which I didn't know. And I came back from the post office to find the dogs had gotten into the trash and spread it throughout the house. It was very frustrating. I tried drawing a charmander for the first time, as I have had pokemon on the brain. It makes the sprites from the original games look like the Mona Lisa. I need to work on my pokemon drawing skills  ;)

I tried to show my friend the sketch of Cool Breeze I did, and he criticized it very harshly, specifically commenting on how I should have more of a finished piece when I spent more than an hour on it. I didn't really feel like doing any sketching after that.

The bright side of the week, I did nearly get my first custom done. The wet weather slowed things down as the sealant wouldn't dry. I'm hoping to finish her up in the next couple days. I also had a really nice time with my husband at the mall on Sunday, after I got an eye exam. I'm now wearing contacts for the first time since '09 and they feel great. It makes me really happy to be able to see when trying to put on make up.

Monday I tried to talk to my friend about how he hurt me with his criticism, but he only doubled down on it. I spent the rest of the feeling really down as I tried to digitally ink some of my sketches from the week before. I've spent the last couple days questioning my abilities as an artist, and what it means for my life if I don't accomplish anything with it. I don't think I've been this depressed since 2012. I've been trying all day to bring myself out of it. I tried talking about it with a different friend, but all he keeps saying is that I need therapy and that my other friend was right. Now all I want to do is curl up in bed again.

Anyways I'm sorry if I'm being too negative with this post. Issues of self-doubt are really hard to conquer and I'm really struggling right now to be positive.

Retrogradenova, that does sound a bit harsh. Maybe they are being super critical because you're thinking of doing it professionally. You need some friends you can rely on for unwavering support, some who will be honest even if harsh but be very wary of so called friends who undermine you, compete with you or otherwise dent your self esteem. Keep setting your own goals and do the best you can. Maybe you will never know if you can make it until you start working for clients.

My diet has been going great. :) I've strangely not been hungry even though I cut out all processed foods. (Usually I feel miserable for the first few days.) I miss rice and all the good yummy bad foods. u_u; taking it day by day, this won't last forever.

Don't show your art to that friend anymore, people can give crits but be nice about it. My highschool bestfriend put down my art and it pretty much made me give up... which, honestly, it wasn't that bad-- I just needed to improve. She was just being blunt, but it was hurtful to me.

Just a quick update as I need to get up early tomorrow.

Yesterday I did general job searches and found a few things to apply for.  I also helped my friends with their allotment and ate dinner with them, making a new art contact in the process. Today I started on the interview task for next Friday and went for a swim.  This is all in between sobbing uncontrollably.  But I'm coping. Hope everyone else is doing well.

I just want to give everyone hugs. Not only are you working towards your own goals, but you are also helping each other. I so glad I started doing this again.

Way to go on those working on the challenge. I have had to start over a couple times, but each try I go a little longer.

Raspberry Brûlée : "I don't enjoy it, I don't do it" was the best thing ever said:) I might use that for more things in my tasks. I can not wait for the gym selfies with pony shirts...I wish I could find pony clothing.

Kitkumi thanks for being positive here. It's a joy to read your posts. Your jewelry was neat. I can not wait to see more. Progress pictures can help motivate. It helps me when I do big knitting projects.

Arte: you are doing some great things in your progress. If in your posts I hear more positive notes. You do have some great advice.

JazzMatazz: sorry you are stuck inside. It's hard dealing with the outside elements. Running in place while looking out a window can help get you outside but not miserable. I run in place during commercials if I feel like binge watching tv.

Sorry it has been a while. I have a heart condition. There is nothing I can do it just randomly speeds up and slows down. Sometimes it's too fast or too slow and I end up in hospital...or bed rest. Lucky no hospital as I can not afford it, but I was confined. So I have not gotten much in my goals done. This did help me finish a knitted hat with kitty ears for October.

CHALLENGE!! I am throwing in a challenge! You can gain FIVE VOTES!

Here is the challenge. You have to so something for 7 days in a row. It can be anything.

o_o took the challenge, and did it! I walked an average of 3.5miles each day. >_<; Worked through my anxiety and just did it... through terrible humid weather. I think it's such a good activity but I don't think I can do it on weekdays due to family. :<

:') The bummer part of it is that pokemon go didn't work 3-4 days during those walks. All those eggs I could of hatched, lol!

Congrats! That is a really impressive total each day, especially in this heat! And I fully agree about Pokemon Go. I've been using it to motivate my own walking as well, and those days where it would hardly work was hard lol. Hopefully you caught some awesome things when it was working though.

My update for the week: I managed to finish my own challenge this week too! I wanted to do work on jewelry/etsy projects and get at least a step of the process done each day. This also helped motivate and help me focus on the small backlog of projects I had accumulated and had scattered around in various states of 'done' lol. I managed to get through my entire backlog, and was able to start on some new shop pieces, so I'm really going to try to carry this motivation in to the coming week as well (shared the first two pieces I finished earlier this week, but here is everything I was able to get done all together)

I also did mildly well with motivating myself to exercise. The heat in our area is killing me, I've never dealt well with it, so I didn't get to go out for any super long walks at any point like I wanted, but I broke out the DDR Mario Mix my mom got me for christmas last year (such a throw back, I love it!) and played for a few hours on Wednesday and Thursday , and did about a half hour of weight lifting on Tuesday and Thursday. Starting this Monday I'm going to try to get on an every day schedule where I do some cardio workout on one day, and weight lifting on the other, with Saturday being a rest day.

I hear you Kitkumi! weight lifting is such a struggle for me too. For some reason, it makes me feel more heavy in my body, like I'm more dense. Stronger too of course, but usually I am happiest when I feel light, flexible and free...and I can DEFINITELY testify to how much fun DDR is! I remember playing it with my roommate freshman year in the basement of the dorms, and we were both sweaty and sore the next morning! It's a great workout and so much fun <3

Keep going for those COMBOS!

I agree with the feeling of heaviness after weight lifting. I'm not a fan, but it always makes me feel accomplished too, and usually more flexible the next day. And yay, another DDR fan! :D I fell in love with it when I was younger, but just never had time to play it. You are 100% right about how great of a work out it is, and being a video game makes it feel less like a work out and more fun.

This week, I'll try not to fall in to any COMBO breakers XD

Phew, been a while since I updated, but I've been productive.

Store stuff:
My business cards came in - look great! Got more business-y pics uploaded (icons, banners, etc).
I also finished the donation project, photographed, and it's all packed and ready to ship tomorrow.

Pony room:
Still organizing but it is coming along. All loose ponies are organized on shelves now, just the bigger stuff like playsets left to go, and the mini sized sets (Ponyville, blind bags). Then to finish organizing or better organizing the craft and store stuff.
And of course have to deal with the "for sale" pile afterwards.

Challenge:
I need to get used to working on the store - my plan is mostly it'll be done in free time (the creating side), but there's the business end to deal with. My goal is to launch on August 1st - exactly 1 week from now. So my challenge to myself is to do *something* related to the store each day this week - online, social media, creating, organizing.

I am lucky that I did not miss a day of work. It took a lot longer to get myself back to normal. I have been keeping with my list, but I need to push myself harder. I hate my body that it is depressing. I know my issues. I crave junk food like crazy...yeah I have yet to reach the 7 day challenge....not giving up.

Bandit pony: my friend plays Pokemon go and I know the frustration of the eggs. I was not huge into Pokemon but that game sounds fun.

Kitkumi: keep up your work. It is so neat. I might have to start thinking about what to commission from you.

DDR Mario Mix...I have to look this up. I LOVE DDR. I haven't had the time to set mine up.

Artie: way to go on the interviews. It is impressive that you are getting multiple of them:) they see how awesome you are and you haven't even done the interview yet!

Kiwi: SO CLOSE! Keep it coming. Pm me a link so I can peek in on it when it's up and going.

I need some help. I really want to get my hubby a nice gift for his birthday. I have a few items for sale here on the arena. I have a pay pal account. Even if you are not interested in things please let others know:) thanks for your help.

Nah. No frustration with the eggs (which wasn't being able to log in due too mant people crowding servers). Its a new game that got too much hype. No biggie. It just would of been a bonus since i was walking 5k daily. There was frustration in the nasty weather, and realizing i don't have the time for exercise on workdays even if I wanted :(

Good News, since my last post I was able to get myself out of that depressive funk. I've only been doing a bit of sketching this week, and chose to work on more complicated full color illustrations and some line art I might be considering doing as adoptables. I also talked things over with my friends and explained to them in a clear way how they hurt me. They said their comments hadn't been meant to be taken in a negative way. But they both promised to be better about giving positive, supportive feedback and constructive criticism. And one promised to stop nagging me to play video games every 15 minutes while I'm trying to do art.  Hopefully they'll stick to their word.

I also had a really great weekend with my husband. We went back to the mall, and I got okay'd for contacts by the optometrist. Got a bunch of g4 pony stuff too. I almost got a job. It was really crazy at the TRU, so I asked the poor woman working the customer service counter if they were hiring, she seemed very excited about the idea, saying they needed go-getter types, and gave me all the information to apply with online, and the managers number so I could call her after I put in the application so she could specifically pull it. I was really excited about it and filled out the app on Monday. But I couldn't get a hold of her with the manages phone number. I tried the number again, but the woman who answered told me I had missed her again. And when I told her what it was about, she told me that person wasn't in charge of hiring. She offered to get the right person and put me on hold before I could say anything. I kinda panicked and hung up the phone. I was worried I'd get the woman in trouble if she really had nothing to do with the hiring. So now I dunno what to do about it. I'm really not good talking on the phone.

The downside to the weekend is that it rained the day my husband was going to mow the lawn for the third week in a row. And Sunday we got home so late it would have upset the neighbors to mow then. So mowing the lawn has been moved to next weekend. I've been out and about the first few days. I helped a neighbor make some flyers. I did some neat summertime graphics on them for her.  I came home from picking up my cat form the vet to find a notice from the city saying my  grass is too high and my husband's auto parts sitting in the driveway is considered indecent and hurtful to beauty of the neighborhood. And if we don't get it cut and cleaned up by next Tuesday it's a $100 a day fine until we fix it. It's really frustrating. It's not our fault it rained the last 3 weekends. and we can't afford a landscaper. We think our neighbor reported us to the cops. We've had a few things like this happen in the past, over the slightest thing, like my husband's car being on blocks while he was working on the engine, and there are houses that really look like disasters at the other end of the street that no one pays attention to.

I did finally figure out my challenge this weekend too! With all my focus on my art and walking lately, I have kinda neglected my hanging baskets and laundry baskets. Really all the baskets! So I'm gonna be making sure that every day this week I water the flowers, and get the laundry done (I don't know how we have so much laundry that I have enough to do a load practically every day of the week). And I have a few other household chores I should get around to doing as well. If I haven't watered the flowers and done at least three chores during the day, I'm going to call the day a fail and start over. I'm hoping to integrate it all into a daily routine with my drawing and walking so that it will become permanent.

Retrogradnove sounds like you have been very productive:) it's hard to talk with friends. Glad it turned out better. I finally went a week with no extras...it was hard sometimes. Had a mopey day yesterday. I have yet to got 1 week without being yelled at. I have had this job for 60 days. There was a nice co worker who was having car issues. So I offered to give her a ride home. In that day it has turned into a daily car pool that was never asked of me. I did get offered gas money once since this started, but I have bought lunch thinking she would repay me or pick up a lunch...that has not happen so I do not buy her anything. She knows I have moved and have no funds at this moment. My Hubble and me are ok, just tight with Extra money. Well she has no issues giving her friend $100 to help out a repair, but can't spot me a few bucks for gas as I take her to and from work 5 days a week. Sorry had to vent that.

I have gone 7 days in a row of working out so I am proud of that.

Sorry for not replying for the past days. I was on holiday and my internet connection was quite bad... At least I had lots of healthy food. :) These days I'm going to walk more. I'm also going to a flea market to sell some ponies and pokémon stuff. However I still need to figure out which ones to sell and after that I can clean the ones for the market. After that i will ask people here what they think is a fair price. Last year a woman complained over how "expensive" they were just to buy them cheap and sell them at her own booth. Well this year she will have no luck with that... ;)

So with that market I can also sell some stuff and boxes that take up space in my room.

I haven't updated in awhile. Not sure if I mentioned it or not but my dad got his clean bill of health and things are back to normal. However I've been in a funk. Haven't been as active as I want to be. Trying to fix that now. Hasn't helped the days I've visit my boyfriend by the time he wants to go for a walk I'm tired and ready for bed, we are rather opposite schedules. So far I've been pretty good about giving myself to do lists for the day and I opt to walk between stores if I go out.

Welp. I was on a really good roll, and doing everything beyond my goals.

But today I'm too angry to do anything. X_x; I guess off days are ok. I don't know. I give up often after a slip up.

My update is a little later than I wanted it to be, but I've been busy. I didn't get as much that I wanted done last week since I spent the first two and a half days of the week with a migraine that wouldn't go away (it happens occasionally when our weather goes through a sudden, dramatic change >.> ). So not too much exercising. On the upside, no snacking or overeating because I felt horrible, so silver lining XD But I did get a few more pieces of jewelry for my store done, and was able to etch out a handful as well, so I'm staying on track with that. Things will be really slow though starting tomorrow because we're heading out on vacation for the rest of the week *excited*

@banditpony - Slip ups are perfectly ok. No one can keep running up a mountain at full tilt without having to stop. Just take the day and admit that you are taking a rest day, no matter the reason why, and that you'll resume the next day (hopefully your angry feeling has gone away! I hope everything is ok *hugs*)

@JazzMatazz- *hugs* So glad to hear that your dad got a clean bill of health back. Having a family member going through anything health related can really be one of the most stressful things.

True, true. I don't know why but I'm like an all or nothing type of person. So usually slip ups = give ups. I feel better today. u_u; But haha, I'm ready for the weekend, that's for sure.

I'm sorry you get migraines! I've gotten some crazy ones lately. They are debilitating, that's for sure. I hope you have fun on your vacation!

Tornado twist. Way to go on a healthy holiday...that can be a hard feat all its own.

Jazzmatazz I can relate to the hubby off schedules. My husband works nights and I work days. I get weekends off he gets middle of the week off. It is very hard. I am not sure how I get through it. Just hang on to any moment I can get with him. Even if walking can not get done pacing around the room could help.

banditpony we all have bad days and there are times it take a bit to get back up. Maybe make a small all in attempt. It's quick, can be easy with a hint of struggle and then it grows back to where you once were. You can do it. We have all hit the bottom and together we are climbing up....that is why we have healthy pony:)

Great job so far everyone. We haven't even hit the half way point.
you can still do the 7 day in row challenge. It ends when healthy pony ends

It been some time. Since I posted. My friend at work had a birthday. It was great. But she a geeky like me. She loves Harley Quinn so she dressed up like her. But she looked super cute. And my birthday is when healthy pony ends...well I have a pony skit that I wanted to wear but it's a bit too small...so I am bumping up the work out(it goes on my list) and sticking to more fruits and veggies. And no JUNK! It will be hard but it can be done! This has inspired the next challenge.

new challenge. Attempt is 3 votes. Reaching it is 5 votes. Try a new way of reaching your goals 3 times. Taking a water bottle to work hoping to finish is not going as well as you like? Maybe try drinking a glass of water before your meal, for example!

I have been making a list and trying to complete the whole list. Well now I am going to try and put that list in order on how I should be doing things. Not just picking and choosing. Then I am trying to finish my list. Maybe this will keep me focused and not put off items on my list.

Keep posting. I hand out votes. Votes are like points. The one who has the most points wins my prize at the end. I am going rummage hunting this Friday so who knows what goody I am going to find:) everyone has gotten at least 1 vote. Probably more but I have not added them up. I read your post and I am looking for positivity. Maybe you tried something, or reached a goal, or you just had a good day. It could be you inspiring someone or someone inspired by you. The other part is by the participants. At the end you will pm me with your vote on who you think would be the poster pony for healthy pony. More on that part at the end.

Everyone is doing so great with their challenges and goals! Wonderful work everyone :D I'm enjoying this thread because I can leave myself "to do's", and then can't lose the papers LOL so I can actually see what I wanted to get done and how I'm doing. So far I'm on track!

Pony Room: still coming bit by bit. Have a couple things I want to get for the window to let in more light. Right now I have a curtain panel, but it makes the room so dark (and it's hard to open/close). I'm going to get some of that textured window cling-on film to filter the light and block UV rays, but still let in some light. And then I'm going to hang up my bead curtain. My room is going to look like a "reverse Kiwi" - purple walls with bright green curtain.

Challenge: I did it! A full week with something store related each day (even if it was just 1/2 hour of stitching). One day we were out shopping all day and I thought it would be a bust, but I found some stationary to use for tracking listings, orders, etc, so I'm counting it as a win. Plus it's a Harry Potter set, and that's the theme of my craft/pony room. :)

Store: I DID IT! The store launched on Aug 1, with a whole two items, but it's still live and getting views (just over 100 views in under a week). Check it out: www.kraftsbykruger.etsy.com . I also have a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/kraftsbykruger), Twitter (www.twitter.com/kraftsbykruger), and Pinterest (www.pinterest.com/kraftsbykruger), if anyone wants to follow along on those. Got a ever-changing list of "next projects" so there will be more listings going up every so often - probably once a week or so, depending on each item.

Some business related pics:
Spoiler
Store banner (it's framed and hanging in my craft room now - can also be used as a table display if I ever did a craft show)
And small store icon

And in other news, got my Hogwarts Express (2.0) finished and shipped off for the Desert Bus craft-a-long. It'll be auctioned off in November during their annual Desert Bus charity marathon. Curious to see how that goes!

Today I made some progress on cleaning up my parents' basement. My childhood kitty let mice in due to not killing them. And let's just say the basement never got fully cleaned after the mice were taken care of. Ick. So I've been going through a lot of that for them, finding childhood toys to clean up and sell or donate.

Way to go Kiwi!! Those are some neat projects. I will be lurking your site and Facebook. I am looking to do etsy too. I will see how it's all done:)

So sorry JazzMatazz...icky mice. Each step is a moment closer.

I tried to put my items in order of importance....it made me unmotivated. I am now going to try to put a percentage for the day. I started small so I could work towards a higher percent. So far I am up to 25% when I needed to only do 20%. This might work.

On a fun note. May area has a huge fair/yard sale. I made a great friend with one of the vendors who always has all kinds of toys. Well she knows I am a collector and found a tote box for me. I can pick it up Labor Day.....why is this so awesome. Well there is a prize for the healthy pony round.

Cleaning up my room goes absolutely great. We noticed I had a space that was literally empty so we managed to store a lot! Also found some childhood toys so I'm glad those are still around. Im also preparing for the flee market this Sunday.

I still snack a lot less then I did before, almost nothing. But when I played pokemon Go last Friday with my BF some brats called me fat and all... But they are the kind of kids that cause problems anyway. Guess more motivation know to lose wait...

One hate how some kids just plan rude. They get no good lessons from their adults. Sigh. Even adults are bad.

As of Aug 9 was my 60th day of work. As of Aug 11 I have been fired. I did not learn a task fast enough or have confidence....it really hurts. I was in a hostile environment and did what I could to keep learning. I was hired through an employment agency. No one at this job told I was not doing good enough. I got home from a long day of work and I got the call. The agency heard my side of the story, but there was not much anyone could do. This is the second time I have been fired in my life. The first job, I made a huge mistake and i understood that. This one just felt like they didn't want to pay for me to be there. I just feel very defeated and so worried. My husband is in a worse job then me and now he feels he will have to stay because I do not have a job....sigh. To make things worse is the girl that I had been giving rides to(we became close as friends) treated the situation as my farewell and I would not hang out with me after this. I know this post is more for what's your problem...but I just want the pony peeps who have been with me as I get healthy.

I love doing healthy pony because it makes me happy to see people succeed in their goals...and if I can be an inspiration for them when they are down...I feel my life has purpose.

Didn't get either of those jobs, had a week off back to applying tomorrow.  Really sorry to hear about your situation, Crowning Glory. I find it impossible to do my best in a hostile atmosphere, I wouldn't take it personally.  They sound horrible and no-one should have to put up with that kind of attitude from an employer although sadly many of us do.

@TornadoTwist - Congrats on finding some of your old childhood toys. Speaking from experience, that can be such a great feeling and experience, especially if you didn't know they were there or were still around. Also glad to hear that room cleaning is going well. I am sorry to hear that you had to deal with some brats while playing Pokemon Go. I've seen a lot of people talking about being targeted just because they enjoy going around playing, and kids typically go straight for the name calling, so I hope you didn't let that get you down. *hugs*

@Crowning_Glory13- I'm sorry to hear that you lost your job, but I am so glad to hear that you are out of a hostile work environment *many pony hugs* I can say, from personal experience, that working too long in a hostile work environment can really do a lot of damage. And even though it sucks to be unemployed, it is so much better than being stuck somewhere like that. I hope that you can find something else soon, so that stress and pressure isn't hanging over your head, but until then just remind yourself that -they- had the problem, not you. Because from the time frame of how long you worked there, it really does sound like they let you go just to avoid something (especially since no one said anything to you. That isn't normal in a work environment)

As for my check in, bleehhhhhhh..... lol. Things were going really great; we went out of town for four days and managed to eat pretty healthy (we packed fruits and protein bars so we weren't living off vending machines and fast food, like we had in the past). Lots of walking around too, about fourteen to sixteen hours a day of almost constant walking, though unfortunately very little sleep. Then the day after we got back we were hit with con plague, and I have done practically nothing but sleep for an entire week >_> And I have eaten more ice cream in the last five days than I have in the last six months. Most of the time it didn't even taste good, it just was the only thing that didn't kill my throat, so it wasn't even enjoyable to eat! XD So yeah; illness sent my efforts spiraling off the rails. I'm feeling better though, so as soon as I kick the cough that's settled in I plan to get back to a normal routine.

As for the new challenge, I'll aim to start up sometime this week, though it may be closer to the end of the week. I'll stay focused on my jewelry for now, and for a new way of completing my goal I'll try to sketch out my designs ahead of time, instead of just winging it, so that I can come up with some new wire patterns and designs.

Blegh Im really nervous now when Playing Pokemon Go and I come across those groups of little brats.  :( I think the fact that I get quickly paranoid also doesnt help.
Well on the bright side, the market was a lot of fun, I managed to wash all the ponies I wanted to sell and I sold quite a lot of them. :) I also got not too many things for myself but quite some interesting ones.

Oh and here are some pic of my room before I started cleaning up...  :lookround: Spoiler for large images. After pics will be shown when finished. ;)

Also I want to start a challenge that starts tomorrow. I will eat nothing besides my main meals and drink only drinks with low calories. This is with the exception of this weekend as I have two birthdays. It's also to speed up the recovery of my mouth as my last wisdom teeth will be removed tommorow. So I will do this challenge until Friday 26th of August with the exception of the upcoming weekend. :)

As for the others, keep it all up! Im sure we can all do it together.

We are half way there! Keep it up everyone:)

Ok here is a way to gain some votes...make a post! Hahaha no really where has everyone gone? But yes any post after mine gets 1 vote from now to th end. This is the home stretch and we need communication.

Sorry I have been away...I have been in a dark place this week and all ias posting was not nice things about myself. I have a bit more work to go to get myself back in order. The getting fired and getting rejection letter left and right, I was feeling very defeated and useless. I still am, so more work. I am now using stars for motivation. I am also giving myself a reward for so many stars collected. I even wrote down things I wanted so I can use them as rewards. Still fighting my extras addiction.

kiwi: how is etsy going? I am going to formulate some questions because I want to start etsy for my knitting.

Just to let all of you know. I keep doing healthy pony every 3 months. It's different each round. Gives everyone variety. So if you want to continue it will still be here. I know it keeps me going when I am at my darkest.

I think we've all hit a lull. :) I've been offline more this week because I was on vacation from work, so we were out during the day more, and just spending time with my hubby.

Etsy is going slow, I just put up my third listing today. Think I'll do some small items for a bit now, to fill up the shop more. Plus all the Walmarts in the area are all out of the large sheets of canvas (which is scaring me a little, I hope they restock...Michaels doesn't carry the big sheets, and the only other store is another town over). No sales yet, but I've been getting some views which is good. It takes a lot of self-promoting and patience.

I finally did something I have been meaning to do...I made a salad over Ramon noodles. I may have no job still, but I was still lazy on making something healthy. Ramon noodles are a comfort food to me. They are not the best...so I made the salad with different veggies and it was good. I did add some breaded chicken but a small amount...yeah!

I have an interview on Tuesday...it has made me so much better. It is hard when I was getting rejection after reject with no interview. So here is hoping. I am still applying but now I feel more confident to go for the higher jobs.

I have to figure out what can bring mt out of a funk...something I can control.

Not exercising but still eating mostly healthy.

A local Italian store that my family had been going to forever (75 years) is closing. They have a special sandwich on the yummiest homemade bun that can't find anywhere else. :'( I am going to try to make the trip to get it one last time.

I'm finally feeling fully back to my old self. Summer colds are the worst, lol (though I'm sure I would be saying the same thing if it were winter!). I started my challenge 2 last Thursday, so I still have a few days to go, but so far so good! I actually ended up focusing on exercise rather than my jewelry like I had first planned. Sometimes it is really hard to get motivated to get up and move, so my challenge 2 has ended up being exercising for at least thirty minutes with a partner every day. This has worked out really well so far, since my fiance is my exercise buddy and has been working out on his own anyway. It has really helped to keep me encouraged and motivated.

@Crowning_Glory13 - I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so down. The job hunt/being without a job really is one of the worst feelings, but I know you'll find something. Try to ignore the rejection letters and the lack of interviews; I know that a lot of places post job listings because they are typically required to do so, but they already have someone they want to hire so they ignore everyone who applies! I've run in to it a lot actually where I live, and it is truly a crappy system. I hope that your interview goes well today :D Make sure to let us know! And also, a ramon noodle salad sounds really good! How did you go about making it because it sounds like something I would like to try sometimes.

@Kiwi- I agree with the lull; it's that time of year! lol. I took a peek at your etsy store and I love the layout (that banner is so cool!). The Hogwarts Train you posted earlier is fantastic; how the heck do you come up with patterns like that? O.o (My granny used to work with the plastic canvas and yarn as well, and I never could figure out how she made even a simple tissue box, lol). Your idea to do smaller items to help fill up the shop is a good one too. With my etsy, I typically tend to get the most traffic when I do bulk uploads.

@banditpony - Welcome to the sick club; here is your free box of tissues and cold medicine lol. *pony hugs* Nah, but in all seriousness, I hope you feel better soon. Just got over being sick myself, so I know how that can slow you down. I don't know if they would do it, but if you can get to the shop one last time why not ask them for the bread recipe? If you talk to them about how much you like it and how long your family has been going there, they might share it with you since they will be closing. Worst they can say is no, after all!

Thanks Kit! I took a peak at your shop, I really like your pieces. Nice simple designs that really show off the stones' natural beauty, and just adds a little something extra. I like the little design on the stones too.

The train was quite a few hours (days) of analyzing many photos of the real one, but overall it came together well in the end - the designs fit nicely with the size of the pieces. I started with the tissue box part and worked out from there (because the boxes are a set size, so it had to fit that to being). I like stitching, and I love making it into something 3D, it's like crafty lego.

I'm finally starting to feel better today~ I just have to gain my energy back now.

:') If i wasn't so shy, I'd ask...  There was a family member who opened up another store... but their bread is totally different. I think they didn't even want to share with family members. I think the other thing is the fact that I don't think I could make bread if I tried. I'm not the best baker. XD

I have so fallen off the healthy pony band wagon....sigh here we try again. So I am simplifying it. I have 4 things to do. 1. Work on knitting. 2. Work out. 3. Clean something/un box 4. No extras. This starts for me Friday. Start clean, start fresh.

I am now lurking and spying on my healthy pony peeps. I am starting to add votes up...so I am trying to get the best surprised pack ready to go.

I will be posting the next round in September if you are interested. It will be different. I spice things up a bit.

Had an interview this week. I actually got 2! The first was good. If I had no other interview I would have taken it. Very low pay and no benefits. But I got a second interview with another job that would give me free chiropractic adjustments....I am in need of those. I do not ask for a lot. I just want a pay that I can pay for benefits and still pay my bills or something that has some benefits. I am jobless...but it's my only fault and that is easier to handle.

Still need to figure out how to keep me positive. Anyone have some ideas I am all eyes:) each post is a vote.

Also start thinking who gets your vote for the poster pony of healthy pony.

Got my fingers crossed for you CG on the interviews. Benefits are definitely a necessity, and sadly hard to find with a lot of employment nowadays. It's good you were honest with them of what you were looking for.

For staying positive, I've come across a couple ideas along the way:
-journal - each day write down something good from the day, even something small like having a favourite treat
-happy things notes - usually something you start at the start of the year, but get a jar or box or something, and write down positive things that happen during the year. Then at the end of the year you read through them all. I'm doing one for the first time this year - my first one was being able to see the fireworks downtown on New Year's Eve from my front windows. I've even put small things in like weird coincidences or funny jokes.

So last Friday i said i would post an update. I was super excited about my progress and to share some pictures. That didn't happen. Shortly after i posted one of my cats started acting funny, and the next day it was worse. We rushed him to the vet and he was later diagnosed with diabetes. Its been a difficult week for me. I nearly had my challenge completed, but i couldn't focus. My cat came home from the vet on Wednesday but he started getting worse almost immediately. Shortly I'm going to bring him back to the vet. Hopefully she will help him. My husband made a gofundme page since the bill is over 2k. I'm trying to be positive, since it feels like begging people for help.

In the meantime I've been trying to continue my work. You guys are all doing so great, I'm hoping i can join you guys in completing my challenge.

Without further ado, here's my art:

These gents are my next set of airbrush victims. The little g4 and i had a disagreement over his sculpting so I'm having to redo him. The picture frame is something new I'm trying.

These ladies are getting prepped for airbrushing. The big yellow ones in the back are a pair of customs for my husband and myself.

These playskool customs are on deck for some new eyes, Minty is there as a reference.

These are some painting I'm hoping to get done. You can also see the thumbnails I was drawing for various ideas. The green board minty is sitting on will hopefully be the board I paint the seapony themed painting on. Something I'm really proud of is that i followed proper drawing steps in terms of developing the compositions. When i was in art school i would alway skip the rough draft stage between the thumbnails and tge final piece.

Simple is good!

I think I need to just survive the stress of the upcoming week. At work, our HQ is officially moving. :< Reality hasn't sunk in for me yet... But my commute will be over an hour long now! Starting Monday. Now I get to walk up 5 flights of stairs to get to my cube. Yay and boo at the same time.

I've been thinking about tweaking my goals to give myself more of a challenge. But even if I don't, I see progress and that makes me happy.

I managed to complete my seven day challenge for challenge two, and I'm going to fall over now lol. Exercising daily with a partner is great for motivation, but my fiance ran my butt in to the ground earlier today. I feel good about it, because I wouldn't normally jog on my own outside (I prefer a treadmill for that), but I am tired. Going forward, it looks like we're going to keep trying to exercise together in the evenings. Im hoping that it will also help me stay constant with exercising this way (I figure seven days is a good start!)

@Kiwi -Thank you :) I hope that the more I make, the more I can figure out how to do. I've seen some absolutely beautiful yet simple pieces at the gem shows I go to shop at. Also, crafty legos is an amazing way to describe it, and you probably have more colors to work with than lego has to offer you. Do you use red-heart yarn by chance?

@banditpony - Glad to hear that you are feeling better! Hopefully your energy is coming back quickly. And as for the bread, yeah, you're probably right that if the other family member opened a store and doesn't seem to have the recipe, they probably wouldn't share. Upside, maybe since the one store is going out, the family member who opened a store will start baking the bread now (maybe before it was so they didn't completely compete with the original store). As for your HQ moving, try to think of your commute as a positive thing. When I was in college I had about an hour commute one way, and I absolutely loved it because it was a total of two hours of undisturbed me-time almost every day. My mom has been commuting to her job, about an hour each way, for almost forty years and she feels the same way. It can give you a bit of time to detox and process the day. So hopefully your commute doesn't end up being too bad of a thing.

@Crowning_Glory13 - I wouldn't say that you fell off the bandwagon *hugs* After all, you are still posting, and if you are still posting that means you are still going, right? I'm really glad to hear that you got that second interview too, and that you know what you are after in a job. Any kind of benefits is a huge bonus over a place that offers absolutely nothing. As for ideas to stay positive: sticky notes! Write down positive thoughts, encouraging words, positive traits about yourself and stick them everywhere where you are going to see them. Bonus points if you give them to someone else and have them put them places so that you are surprised. Basically it helps because if you start to feel down, you can look up and see that positive message sitting there. Also, you could try making origami paper stars. I've never done it myself, but I've seen others do so; basically, every time you do a thing, you make a star; get out of bed? Mark that down, it's a star. Shower? Star. Eat breakfast? Star. Do something big like clean an entire room? That is at least worth five stars, maybe more. Then you find a jar, a small one at first, and store them in there. Then as you make more, you have to get bigger and bigger jars to hold them, and you can look at that jar and -see- just how much you do in a day, even if it is the simple things of everyday life.

@retrogradenova -*so many kitty hugs* Having a feline  get diagnosed with diabetes can be very hard emotionally. Our first family cat was ultimately diagnosed with it in his later years, so I can fully understand what you have probably been going through and you have my sympathy. I know its hard, but stay positive; vet medicine has come so far over the years, and don't feel like you are begging for money because it isn't. It's just trying to raise money for a family member who needs help, and that isn't begging. As for your art, it looks awesome! I really want to see everything when you get them done (how did you sculpt those fetlocks!? I have tried and failed to get some to look that smooth o.o ) The playskool ones also look adorable. I don't think I've seen any customized before, and the picture frame is amazing. I thought that was official merchandise at first.

Haha, yeah I can make my legos any colour or shape. :) I do use Red Heart, but I've also been using Loop&Threads' lines lately, particularly their Impeccable line. I've also used Astra, Bernat, random donation yarn. LOL Whatever works and has the colours I want/need, and sales play a factor too. I'm always planning around Michael's sales and coupons.

It's almost September...and I am so proud of you all. All of you have been working very hard and doing so many positive things and being there for each other.....I just get warm fuzzyes all over:)

I will be doing a second 3 month round starting in September. I will give you a heads up when I post. Anyone can join in.

Retrogradenova. I had a diabetic kitty. I had sygrum (not sure if I spelled that right) when he look down just dipped my finger and let him lick. It was recommended by the vet. I had him for 5 more years. He was 13 and left us at 18. Dementia took him in the end. So hugs and prayers for you. I sold ponies for those 5 years and I would not have done it differently. It takes some time to balance the diabetic kitty. It will get better.

Bandit pony. Now you get some work out with stairs!!! Sorry for all the change, but it can be a great thing. Great job on being positive.

Kitumi great work with the challenge. Kept it up.

Kiwi. Jo-Ann fabrics has some great coupons. I recommend signing up for their snail mailer. Most of the time you can use the mailer and the online coupon and get better deals. They always a have a 40% online. The mailer will get you 20% total purchase....its how I get yarn for my projects:)

I am working on a huge knit blanket project and to get it started it was going to cost me $90.00  in yarn. With online coupons, and mailer I only spent $40.

Keep trucking everyone

Thanks for the suggestion, sadly we don't have Joann Fabrics up here in Canada. But sometimes Michael's sends out 50% coupons, which is awesome. I got a similar deal on yarn once between sales and an addition coupon on top of the sales. :D Such a huge bag of yarn, I was in heaven.

Things I've been meaning to say but got distracted:
@Kitkumi - Your jewelry is awesome. So nicely done! It's driving me crazy, honestly, and makes me want to make my own. I was a Silversmith for 6 years, but I don't have any of the bigger equipment to work with anymore. Also thank you for all the kind words about my art. I know KCherry has done one playskool pony before in a Halloween theme, it was so cute it's why I had to give it a shot. Also to answer your question, it was a lot of time, each piece of feathering was applied individually and blended the best i could into the pony's leg. Then once it was all dried, I sanded it starting with a 180 grit, then 230, at 400 I switched to a wet sandpaper, then 600, then 800, and 1000. The wet sanding really helps smooth and blend the apoxie sculpt into the pony. You just have to be careful not to over sand the actual feather parts or they start to look a little flat.

@Kiwi - I love your coasters, they are very cute, and I can't wait to see what else you make.

@ Crown_Glory - It sucks about the job thing, but I'm sure since you're already getting interviews you'll find a new one fast. Staying positive is really hard, I don't really have any good tips for it. Though I do find playing lots of 90's music and singing along usually improves my mood. Does that count? Right now my method of being positive is denial, lol! Also one of my favorite ways of cooking raman is to just through frozen veggies (like those frozen stir fry mixes that are peppers and onions) into it when I go to cook it. I'll also sometimes throw in some precooked chicken or steak that's cut up into small stripes or pieces.

@Banditpony - A long commute can be fun. I used to have to leave for class an hour early just so I could find a parking spot, the drive itself was only 30 minutes, but i usually sang my entire way there, and got myself pumped for class each day.

Update:
I wanna thank everyone for their support. When I got Porthos to the vet shortly after my last post, things weren't looking good. His kidneys failed. Though his glucose levels were strangely fine. There wasn't anything the vet could do. So we had to say goodbye to him. It wasn't a good day, while I was trying to say good bye to him, the dog in the kennel beneath him got sick all over me. And when I got back form cleaning up, the vet had finished, she didn't realize I wasn't done with my goodbyes. My husband tried to make it there before hand, but his phone wasn't working properly so he didn't get there in time. Overall not the way I wanted things done.

I've been working mostly non stop on my art and pony projects since. In all honesty I've been avoiding sleep since I don't want to wake up in my bed without Porthos on his pillow. One of my other cats used his magic sleep inducing abilities to make me fall asleep in my living room chair for a bit today, so technically I got some sleep. So yay sleep!

Anyways, I've been really focusing on my art because I was planning on going to the Southeast Pony Meet at the end of September. I really wanted to have a bunch of stuff to trade and sell. The gofundme thing for the vet bill isn't going well. The whole reason my husband made it was so that I wouldn't have to give up going to the pony meet, but as the days tick down, it looks like the pony meet funds will have to be reallocated to pay the bill. It's frustrating when I think about it, so I chose to not really think about it and keep working on my art. Maybe I'll get lucky and we'll be able to find the money some other way.

I haven't really been doing my sketches daily like I was at first. I have been electing to work on larger projects. I think part of that is a little fear after that whole incident with my friend, I'm planning on trying things a new way and make myself sit down first thing in the morning and sketch, as the second challenge. No longer will sketching time be optional as to when I decide to do it. It will be done before I'm allowed to do any of my other work. Hopefully that will motivate me to get it done.

For me the Healthy Pony has been all about getting myself to a healthier state of confidence. I grew up fat and was treated horribly by just about everyone.  Even my own parents undermined my confidence by constantly telling me I'd never get anywhere while being fat, and that the kids at school were right, and all sorts of various things. So while I'm exactly focusing on my weight (which is still a problem), I think I've been succeeding over all though this challenge, in working on my confidence which I feel may be more important over all at this point. I've gotten more artwork done in the last three months than I have in over 2 years, and I still have more I hope to finish before the end of this. It feels really good to recognize that. I know I'm not brimming with confidence yet, I struggled with the eyes of one pony for several days before putting it down and waiting a few weeks before I could bring myself to pick her up again. But I did pick her up again and I did finish her instead of giving up and forgetting about her. So it is a start.

This is why I do healthy pony. Being a better pony is hard. The struggle is real, but so are the posting ponies who struggle right along with you. Retrgradnova you have found away to love yourself and understand yourself. That took me over 30 years to do. That is the hardest thing to do. We all know we will never be perfect. But having a support system is what helps us through.

Hugs for your loss

:) I'm really enjoying working up at the top floor. Going up the large staircase is like ~7.5 flights of steps, cuz the ceilings are so tall on each floor.

Commute. :/ Not so much. I am so exhausted each day, and get no time with my family. I'm so scared of when winter comes around ><  But I'm trying to stay positive with everything I dislike about the move... I remind myself there is something good too...

Great job as we hit the home stretch. 21 days left. I am talking the votes and everyone has done so well.
1. Sept 23 you will send me a PM. It will have your address, and the name of the pony who you think did the best in this healthy pony round. The pony with the most votes will get a pony surprise sent from me. You will be requested to post in this thread.

2. I am starting healthy pony round 2. There will be different rules and achievements, but it's a way to keep going healthy. I will let you know that post...sign ups should be posted soon.

Kiwi..thank you for the Etsy updates. I have yet to take the plunge. Michaels does have mailers too and sometimes you get extra discounts.

Bandit...I fear snow too. It has been 4 years since I drove in it.

JazzMatazz...it's odd how eBay can make you productive. It's on my list of to do.

I am having a hard time. I feel that I screwed up in passing on a job. I lost a music student...and it always drops my confidence...sigh it was my only one so now the only thing I contribute is the funds I get from eBay. I have avoided some friends because I am having hard time holding it together. I mentioned it to them and all I got was go to a doctor cause you should be medicated....did not help me. I love them and I am glad they care, just sometimes the best thing one could do is say it's ok we love you. So I am off the healthy pony band wagon.

I plan to finish out strong. I know I can get myself back to my bubbly positve self...I am just going to build on myself. Try to work on knitting for 3 days then add a work out challenge. I can combine if I feel up to it. I do have my lists going again...I can keep it up.

Keep going we are sooo close.

I have not been keeping updated here, I'm sorry.

I mentioned initially my three goals - Completely stop drinking pop, improve my digestion health, and lose weight.

I have fully achieved the first (I don't even want to drink pop anymore.), and over the last couple of weeks my digestion health has really improved. I'm very happy about that. I wonder if my working nights had screwed up my digestion health somehow? Because I'm just drastically better all of the sudden now. =) The third one, I have definitely lost weight. I average 10-15 pounds less than when I started. I think I could do better - I have been indulging myself in a lot of sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles. It's just sooo delicious. I can't help myself. T.T

Harmonie that is awesome! Way to go on the goals! I am drooling for sugar cookies and frosting.

I had an interview Tuesday...I do not fill confident, but I do have one on Friday. So here is hoping.
I am actually impressed with myself. I have been eating healthy and not grabbing junk food. I crave it and it does drive me crazy but I am some how resisting.
I also get more done when it is rainy outside..hahahaha.

Healthy Pony Round 2 is posted and ready for sign ups. It's a little different but not by much.

I think I can pretty much call the pony room complete. Most stuff is dealt with / put in place, still some of the tubs to sort through in depth, but everything is out of the other rooms and in the pony room, and fairly much organized / put in spot, that I can use it. Yay!

Way to go Kiwi! Not often does one reach a goal on time! Or early in your case. Amazing job. Keep us posted. I know I keep poking around your site:)

Getting compliments you gorgeous girl Tornado Twist! Wahoo! There is nothing more rewarding then getting compliments.

JazzMatazz I am in your boat. You just fall off the band wagon and you just can't get back on. I am struggling still..but I think I am making progress.

I am starting at square one. Making a small list of what I need to do. I am going to give myself points for what I do accomplish. This will give me justification on a treat or have a lazy day as a reward....I am going to get on track:p

Round two is up and running so feel free to keep your progress going right along with me.

Thanks CG. It's one of those things that's never really done (new ponies, rearranging as the herd grows, reorganizing), but I'm happy with how it is. No snow yet! *shakes fist* I hope you are feeling better CG.

:) Well, my accomplishments have been I'm eating healthy lunches during the weekday. And I'm being more physically active. Nothing extreme, but manageable.
I need to start going for more long walks now that the weather is nicer... I feel like I had been slacking on that.

That said... weight loss wasn't really a goal, but I've gone down a size in my pants.. and by the end of this I hope that it's a total of 10lbs. I'm like .5lb away! :) I'm really happy with that. O_o And it's so odd because I'm eating terrible on the weekends... snacking on all sorts of junk food. I just wanted to maintain my weight for the last portion but it's still coming off... somehow. I feel like when I was focused on dieting 100% it was coming off so slow. T^T

XD I wanna join the next round, but I don't think I'm ready to commit! I need a tiny break.

Totally understand breaks....that is awesome on the pant size:) healthy pony is not just weight...but I use it to get better with practicing my piano. I keep healthy pony going because everyone needs a little help from time to time. My wii is up and running so working out is easier:) I had a not so healthy moment. It ok. A non healthy moment keeps you from falling off the cliff verses just the wagon. My husband wants us to give up coffee.....ah no...ok I am trying. I told him I am starting by allowing a 2 cup max at this time...I am about 3-4. I told him give me 2 weeks and I will try for one. Cold turkey for coffee can be really bad...and I have not been sleeping and early morning interviews with husband coming home from work about 1:00am coffee is needed.

Slowly I am building my emotions back up. I might find a job that I get to do more with music and helping kids who have difficulties with life...it will be a challenge and I am warned that physical harm can happen, but there is a support system for. I just feel it will be the reward and passion I have been looking for. And then it could be bad and I want to run...hahaha but I will take that chance if I can work with music.

Today is Friday...any post from Friday to Friday of next week Sept 23 will get 2 votes:)

Remember on Sept 23. You will need to PM wit your vote for the Pony who was on Fire this round. Maybe they helped you out a lot. Maybe their post showed a lot of positivity. Maybe you are so proud they reached their goals. Anything. Just PM me with their name and your address.

I gotta remember to post. It's super crazy in my head trying to get eerything done for the pony meet. Still not sure if I'm gonna be able to go, but I'm still trying to get everything done just in case. So maybe a late night post when i can no longer hold a paint brush will be in order :)

Oooh absolutely. It encourages me when everyone is facing their own goals. Not going to lie, if not for this thread I would of probably kept putting off my goals. And with the first challenge I did things against my anxiety that I didn't think was possible. ^^ and I wouldn't if dive it what do ever without the prompt :) so I thank you for that

Had planned on a garage sale today, but woke up not feeling like it. So went on an adventure instead with my bf like we had planned for next week. :) It was great for a mental health day sort of way. Worked out in my favor, got some g1 babies for $2 and a very hard to find Disney movie on DVD I've been wanting.

Sometimes you have to step away from you routine. Variety keeps things interesting.

I took a job...and it is not my ideal. I passed up one offer and regret it so I took this one cause I am tired of being out of work...it is killing me emotionally. This job I took is a mess. Poorly organized and I haven't even started my first day and they are not sure what is going on or what to tell me...sigh. Oh well it is a job. I can always keep looking but now I have an income. So a week after I took this job...I got another interview. I want this one as I could teach music...a passion of mine. At least I am getting some positives.

Healthy pony is about to wrap up. Well done. Please remember on Sept 23 send me a PM of the pony you feel did the best with healthy pony.

We are doing well...don't fizzle out on me now!

I finished by latest project/item for my shop (a pumpkin storage dish thing, done up for the Teal Pumpkin Project). Was hoping to get it listed tonight, but the light was gone by the time we got home, so couldn't get pics. Tomorrow! :)

Sorry to everyone for disappearing there for awhile! I got super busy with a couple of things, most importantly my best friend's wedding!  :frolic: It was this last weekend and I was the maid of honor, which was a great honor but also super stressful. The best part was that the work I've done these last few months helped my dress fit better, so even though I've not met my goal of weight loss I did notice some positive change.

I know I've fallen behind on replying, so let me just say a BIG congratulations to everyone. I've gone back and caught up on the thread and we have all come so far. I really am proud of us all :D

Super sorry not to get things posted sooner. I've been really busy with this pony meet stuff. I'm realyl proud of everyone who stuck it through to the end. I think we all did really good.

@Banditpony, Kitkumi, CG, Kiwi: You all have each done something I hope to accomplish in the future. Losing weight even a just a pant size is a start, setting up your own business is super hard to do with so many factors to think about, and finding a new job (even if it wasn't by choice) is even harder than  anything else during these times. I think everyone deserves hugs and pats on the back for jobs well done.

I know the summer was frustrating for lots of us. And the colds made it even more difficult to stay motivated, but good job on that. I hope everyone has recovered fully from their summer bugs.

As for me I'd like to announce that I got the first challenge finally done on Tuesday! It took me forever, I would get 3 or 4 days in and then get distracted and forget to do my chores. Honestly it was probably a good thing since constantly having to start over helped in keeping my house clean.

Sadly I did not complete my second challenge. I've been working consistantly on customs for the last two weeks, I've not really sat down to do too much sketching, let alone doing it first before any of my other art for the day. I did not get all of my goals met. But overall I feel really good about the amount of art I did do; while I still have plenty more to finish, I'm finding it easier to sit down and get to work. Lately I haven't found myself fretting and procrastinating as much as I have in the past and that is a great step forward for me.

I thought I'd be able to post pictures after the pony meet, but since voting is tomorrow I figured I'd post now. A few of my customs won't be rehaired until tomorrow since I got a lot to do in these last two days before the meet. But I did get 4 custom ponies fully finished as of right now.

Spoiler
Please forgive the scans, I think my scanner is being cranky again.
I had planned on doing a different theme each week, the first one being dinosaurs/megladons (I was playing too much Ark), and the next being horses and deer:

Thanks Retro! :) I'm really happy with how it turned out (30 hours later). I took a regular pumpkin candy dish pattern, and made it teal instead (and then did sparkly grey for the face instead of black, so it stood out more and wasn't so scary).

Told hubby I'll miss him if he sells, so he said to make another one (which I may or may not had already been planning on ;) LOL). Gotta get more large sheets of canvas on the weekend.

Hello healthy ponies! I'm so sorry to have ghosted this challenge! It was a rough couple of months. Husband and I unexpectedly had to move, so I've spent the last six weeks or so apartment hunting, packing, moving, unpacking, purging stuff, buying new stuff, exhausting!

So incredibly impressed and proud of everyone's progress here, and I'll do my best to finish out strong.

I just got back from the 2016 Southeast Pony Meet!!!!

It was my first time going. I was super nervous, especially since I had never met any other pony people before. For me healthy pony was leading all up to this, I set my goals around building my self confidence with my art, so that I could do the art that I wanted to bring to the meet.

Sadly I didn't get any orders for commissions, but I actually don't feel discouraged by this. I didn't quite have everything done for the meet, but it was okay. I have been chasing my dog around every 4 hours trying to put eye drops in his eye to help with a cut. It really messes with the flow of artwork. But it was okay. I got a lot of wonderful comments on the boy ponies' feet. That made me feel really good. I did get Raspberry Cyclone finished. She is a little tired from traveling, I need to restyle her hair:

Though I didn't sell anything. I feel really encouraged. I'm going to keep working and I feel like a lot of what I am feeling is thanks to everyone here doing the healthy pony challenge. So thank you everyone :)

@retrogradenova - Congrats on finishing the first challenge! Even just getting 3-4 days in at the start is really impressive, especially where chores are concerned (I can straight up say with 100% confidence that I would be unable to do 7 days straight of chores. I'm too flighty lol). Also, I love your sketches! The details in the first picture of the shark really pop to me, and also those customs  :dribble: I'm in love with Raspberry Cyclone, those colors are gorgeous. I'm glad that your first pony meet went well too. A meet is something I've always wanted to go to, but I'm too nervous and shy. It is awesome that Healthy Pony helped you build up to it and that it was a good experience. Congrats! *hugs* Also, I feel ya where chasing an animal around with eye drops are concerned. I had to do that with my cat once.... not a fun time XD

@Kiwi - Omg, that pumpkin is absolutely beautiful!  :dropjaw: I'm a sucker for that shade of blue/teal to start with, but your stitching looks flawless and the design is super cute. The choice to go with a grey face instead of a black one really does make everything pop, instead of being too heavy.

@Raspberry Brulee- Moving and apartment hunting can be majorly stressful when it is a planned thing. Having to move unexpectedly makes it way worse. Hopefully everything is going well and you have some relaxing downtime coming your way!

@Crowning_Glory13- How did we get to the end so fast?! Honestly, it feels like we all just started this O.o It doesn't help I suppose that I had in my head the end was on the 30th. My bad ^^;;;  I just sent in my vote and my address, though one more thing needs to be said.................. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!  :cheer: :birthday:  I hope you have a great day today :D

@Kitkumi - Thank you! Her colors gave me a bit of difficulty when trying to get them just how I wanted them. Ugh, a cat with eye drops must be a real pain. The vet told me chasing horses around to give them eye drops is probably the worst ever at of all the animals she's had to do. I am really stressed about the dog's today. He was looking so good over the weekend and then he started squinting again yesterday. I think I might have accidentally poked him in the eye with the ointment tube yesterday. I'm desperately hoping it gets better before his appointment with the vet tomorrow morning.

@Crowning_Glory - I'm so sorry! I completely spaced that you said you were ending Healthy Pony on your birthday! Happy Birthday!!!!

I'm still around, been keeping busy. I ended up sick yesterday after getting a tetanus shot I was due for one. Boy was I not prepared for it to land me on my behind for a whole day. Ended up feverish and joint pain all over. Much better today, I feel back to normal.
