I admit I'm nervous about the movie. I didn't like what Abrams did with Star Trek, so I'm not sure I'll like what he does with Star Wars. But then again, it might be better than the prequels. In any case, it makes for a nice reason to go out on a movie date with Mr. Stomper. So we might just go do it!
What is your opinion?
:jedi:

My option wasn't really there, yes I will go to see it definitely at the cinema, but I haven't booked my tickets yet. Love sci-fi, loved the new Star Treks, really looking forward to it :)

I'm not into Star Wars, never have been. So I don't plan on going to see it.
-
This is not the thread I'm looking for.
-
My husband and I will definitely go see it . . . after it's been out a month or so that is. Only because we are not big fans of packed theaters.
-
To be honest, I have no interest in Star Wars. So I'll pass, definitely.
-
I might go see it. If someone else buys the tickets, anyway.
-
Its Disney, so of course, and ive already got tickets (like a boss!). Ive always been a Star Wars fan lol.
Woah, lightsaber battle emoticon!??

It's been years since I last saw anything at the cinema and Star Wars has never really grabbed me as something to check out. That said, I do have a sort of cultural-osmosis-level knowledge of it, so I do 'get' and enjoy humour based on it and all that even though I've never seen any of the films. I didn't even know this new one was coming out, so suffice to say I haven't made plans to see it! If one of my friends were to invite me to watch it, I'd happily go, but more for the social aspect. :P
-
I love Star Wars. Would love to see it in the theatre but I have a baby so a night out is hard to come by.
-
I plan on going to see it with my best friend and her hubby- She says she need someone to save her from the embarrassment of him getting over excited, but I warned her we'll probably *both* be embarrassing her with over the top reactions! :P She's not into sci-fi and never will be, but her hubby and I are. She dragged us to all the Twilight movies(they weren't horrible, but I wouldn't have gone to see them in the theater on my own), we can drag her to Star Wars. :)
-
I'll definitely be seeing it, but everything around here is sold out already of course!
I'm nervous about it, it looks interesting, but I'm still worried it will fail expectations. I was a big Star Wars buff as a kid but not so much now though I do still love the series.
-
I kinda grew out of Star Wars after 1999.... LOL. I totally lost interest.
-
I'm going to be forced to see it with my family :P I just hope it's worth the 2+ hours of my life

Understandable XD

Raijha is a huge Star Wars fan, so we are going to see it opening weekend (if work wasn't really busy at that time, he'd love if I took the time so we could do the midnight release).
-
I'm excited to see it. I trust the movie makers know what they're doing. I have talked to strangers who have bought tickets a while back. We don't do that. I expect tickets will be sold out for a while and it may be a while before we can see it, but I hope not too long as I'm very excited about it. :frolic:
-
I'm going to see it with my mom and dad! We haven't gotten to do this since the Lord of the Rings movies. I can't wait!
-
Heavens no. I haven't had any interest in Star Wars since Lucas felt he needed to re-work the special effects in the DVD box set more than 10 years ago!
-
Nope. Not my thing.
-
Maybe I'll go. I wasn't thrilled with the last live, Star Wars movie.
-
This is not the thread I'm looking for.

So I cosplayed Rey earlier this year (she's the female lead) and I do silly amounts of research when I cosplay someone, so I've already fallen in love with the characters. Rey's not as loveable as internet people want her to be, but I relate to her anyway. The other two leads are awesome, and I love them a lot. And BB8. <3 <3 I'm looking forward to seeing who's related to whom, and how this thing and that thing happened and...
-
Can. Not. Wait!
-
I'm totally a Star Wars fan , so is mom and my hubby so we'll be seeing it :frolic: :squee:
(how awesome is this smiley BTW?!!!!!!! :jedi: TY Stomper!!!!! :like: :bigups: )
I don't like crowded cinemas though so we'll go to a late showing after its been out a while ;)
-
I am a huge Star Wars nerd so I am gonna see it. I just care a lot about using my employee discount so I'll be patient and wait a couple of weeks till the screens are not packed with people.
-
There was no suitalble answer for me: Yes, I´m definitely going, but I haven´t bought tickets yet. I´m going with my 11-year old son. My expectations isn´t very high, but you never know I guess.
-
Not a chance. I've been overdosed with Star Wars so I can't stand it any more.
-
I will most likely go an see it, but I won't be in a rush. I liked the original trilogy. But wasnt a massive fan of the prequals though.
-
I'm going. I will wait a few weeks for the hype to end. I don't like being overly crowded theatres.
-
Sci Fi isn't my thing so that is a big NO from me. Plus, I doubt it will be playing in China anytime soon.
-
Meh, I don't really see why people are so excited about it. I don't really expect it to be any better than either the prequels or Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull (or whatever that thing was called). I will watch it when it comes out on DVD, just to say I've seen it.
-

disney is looking to change that. The Force Awakening will be opening in China. Here is an article on it. While it doesn't say it when it will be released it will see release in China.
As for the movie the Hubby and I both love Star Wars and we are both looking forward to seeing it. I know I'm alone in likeing the prequels but I do like them.
-
Ill probably watch it at home. Im not sure I can tolerate the theatre--and if its like its prequels, I wont beable to watch it in 1 sitting.
-
I chose "Probably not, but I could see myself watching it at home" :)
I would love to watch it at the cinema but ive got problems with my back and cant stand sitting so straight for the full length of a movie -_- So yeah, Ill be watching it at home I guess :) Looking forward to that!!
-
I bought tickets for 3 shows the moment they were available!!! IMAX 3D, of course. I literally can't wait! I haven't been so excited since Jurassic World! The fiancee and I are huge movie fans, so this is a must for us!
-
I could care less about Star Wars, LOL.
-
My husband bought our tickets the morning after they went up for sale! <3 Can't wait!
-
I'll definitely go (hopefully opening weekend!) but I haven't gotten tickets. Probably naive of me to think I'll be able to get in anyways, lol... but still. I'm a big Star Wars fan and after seeing the trailers, I'm cautiously optimistic.
-
Yep, and I fought through Fandango's outage for 48 minutes trying to get tickets the day ticket sales were announced- the theater actually has assigned seating for the showing!
-
i am very curious to see what they did with this one- I ve seen all the other ones but still missing the vintage vibe the first ones had- oh well :lookround:
-
I have tickets to see it twice on the opening day including the midnight showing. Going to make some costumes for it ^_^
-
Definitely! Have always loved Star Wars, 3 and 6 are my favourites. When I was young, I was so in love with Luke, then when the Revenge of the Sith came out, I totally fell in love with Anakin.
Maybe I will be going with my brother. Surely gonna ask him, would be some nice quality time.
-

Same for me! We'll go probably to the IMAX, just trying to work out what day we can get there.
-
I love the original three movies. Hated the newer three for the most part. I'd like to see it at the theater, but it's gotten so expensive. I know I'm gonna be thirsty/hungry while there, but I don't want to spend eight bucks on the movie ticket and then three for a big pretzel (or more for popcorn) plus a couple more for a drink. I'll just wait for it to come to DVD.
-
My option isn't here either... I'm between "Probably not" and "No, I wouldn't even watch it on TV." Star Wars doesn't exactly *interest* me, but I'm not opposed to watching it. I doubt I'll ever go seeking it out, but if it's on or someone I'm with is watching it, it's not a big deal to me :)
-
Duh! Obviously I'm going to see it! Han Solo lives on baby!
I have three older brothers and they were all major Star Wars geeks that rubbe off on me! I've watched the three original movies countless of times and also played with my brothers' old SW toys.
I'll admit, I'm a tiny bit unsure of how much I'll actually like the movie since it takes place so long after the original movies, but I'm positive to the fact that so many of the original cast appears.
-
I loved the sequels written by Timothy Zahn. I would totally camp out at the theater for days if the movies were based on those.
-
No because I'm not interested in Star Wars

yeah me too, i was pretty saddened with what he did with Star Trek. good eye candy FX but not good story lines.
but i have to see them, iv seen all of them on the big screen so must complete the set :P
i just hope they will be better then GL's prequels (episodes 1,2 and 3)
-
Star Wars isn't my cup of tea.
-
I'll be seeing it with my friends, but we'll probably go see it a few days after the premiere. Even though I don't have really big expectations, I'm still looking forward to it :)
I hope my friends won't be disappointed though, because they are really big Star Wars fans.
-
Yes I am going but I have not bought tickets. The release date is on my birthday so my friend is going to take me. Star Wars is one of my favorite movie series-yes even the prequels (but of course the original 3 are best).
I am not super worried about it "not being true to the series" or whatever. I'm going into it as it is its own thing separate from the original movies. People are calling it JJ Abrams fan fiction but I don't see how it's any different from all of the books written about Star Wars. Some were good some were bad. I ignore the bad and enjoy the good which is what I am going to do with this new movie.
-
I will watch it after the theaters quiet down. I'm actually looking forward to it.

Same here, it comes out four days after my birthday, so I'm pretty happy with that.
As long as it meets my standards, I won't complain.
Captain Phasma, anyone? Still looking for her six-inch scale Black Series figure. She is the only character from the new film that I MUST own as a figure. I know she's a 'villain' but that is of little concern to me. Finally, a woman in practical armor in a sci-fi franchise (that I know)! No skimpy, feminine armor, plus her armor is chromed in the movie! Need I say more?

My sister has said the opposite, actually - that she's willing to sit through it because it was Abrams directing and he did a good job in her view with Star Trek.
I won't be going to see it though. I've seen the trailer, and the hype, but I can't get into it. I saw Return of the Jedi once, and that was enough for me. Not my type of scifi.
-
super excited!! got my costume, my tickets and i'm in the process of building my own working lightsaber. just trying to decide on the color of the blade. probably green....
-
I'm going to the movie to see it but with my fellow aspie friends but we haven't fixed the day yet.
-
The trailers I've seen so far have a very 'old school' feel to them, which is all good to me! I really don't like the last 3 movies but I love the originals :D
-
I want to see it, but after the "super fans" have seen it, lol. I totally get being hyped by something you love, but when I'm in a theater I actually want to watch and hear the movie, not screaming fan boys and fan girls.

0.0! hadn't thought of that.
i'm very much the type that think "don't talk during movies"
the only movie i remember people catcalling and such was the first equestria girls movie.
thankfully my star wars tickets are the 10:30 showing not the first 7pm showing.
i'll still have a costume, but not too worried about the talking. i hope.
-
Got tickets already and cant wait to see it! Trailers look great and back to basics while not giving too much away! I'll be surprized if it's not the biggest film of the year!

I might watch it if one of my friends decide they have to see it with me, but I won't go out of my way to see it. I'm not that much into "Star Wars". I have to admit I'm far more excited for "Mockingjay part 2".
