I admit I'm nervous about the movie. I didn't like what Abrams did with Star Trek, so I'm not sure I'll like what he does with Star Wars. But then again, it might be better than the prequels. In any case, it makes for a nice reason to go out on a movie date with Mr. Stomper. So we might just go do it!

What is your opinion?

It's been years since I last saw anything at the cinema and Star Wars has never really grabbed me as something to check out. That said, I do have a sort of cultural-osmosis-level knowledge of it, so I do 'get' and enjoy humour based on it and all that even though I've never seen any of the films. I didn't even know this new one was coming out, so suffice to say I haven't made plans to see it! If one of my friends were to invite me to watch it, I'd happily go, but more for the social aspect.

I plan on going to see it with my best friend and her hubby- She says she need someone to save her from the embarrassment of him getting over excited, but I warned her we'll probably *both* be embarrassing her with over the top reactions!   She's not into sci-fi and never will be, but her hubby and I are.  She dragged us to all the Twilight movies(they weren't horrible, but I wouldn't have gone to see them in the theater on my own), we can drag her to Star Wars.

I'm nervous about it, it looks interesting, but I'm still worried it will fail expectations. I was a big Star Wars buff as a kid but not so much now though I do still love the series.

Raijha is a huge Star Wars fan, so we are going to see it opening weekend (if work wasn't really busy at that time, he'd love if I took the time so we could do the midnight release).
