I was somewhat excited, but now my excitement has sort of disappeared. Apparently I'm not the only one either, as I've had a handful of friends cancel their pre-orders. I still have my $1 pre-order card from Target but I'm on the fence about the game. Gen 3 was/is one of my least favorite generations, and there are maybe one or two new Mega Evolutions that I have an interest in this time around. Needless to say, I'm more excited for a possible Z version or a whole new generation.
So we'll see...
I'm really hoping I'll have fun with this game (if I do decide to buy it). I do love Pokemon, and I've been a fan since Red and Blue were first released here in the US, but I remember the disappointment I felt when I tried playing one of the gen 3 games for the first time. Perhaps a remake will make Hoenn a little more likable for me. Hopefully the demo codes will be sent soon, so I can start making my judgement then.
Give me Mega Flygon and Mega Milotic and I will be 100% sold on these games! :lol:

Right now I'm sorta happy that there's a chance there will be a Mega Froslass in the future, since Glalie got a mega. Froslass has always been one of my favorites.

I mean, yeah, I grew up with Red version as my first game, but the first gen isn't my favorite. Or even close, really. Some of the designs either confuse me or bore me. Dragonite and Lapras are my loves, but other than them, there aren't too many from that gen that I'm a fan of.
I have to admit that it was kinda funny to see the older Pokemon in a 3D environment in the new games, though. Seeing them from angles we never got before. :lol:

I fell in love with Lapras from that Santa Claus episode and I was all :squee: when I got to get on on X. Water types aren't on the top of my favorites list either, but that one sure is. :lovey:
I suppose I'm just biased toward Generation I and II Pokemon. There are some very weirdly designed Generation I Pokemon (Hypno, Magmar, and Electivire come to mind immediately), but I grew up knowing them as natural Pokemon.That's pretty much how I am. Gen 2 will always be my favorite (which is probably why the 3rd gen was disappointing to me) but I fell in love with Pokemon again thanks to gens 5 and 6.
That's not to say that I don't love many of the Pokemon released in later generations, though. Some of my top favorite Pokemon are from Generation V and VI. There were some very neat ideas in them, too.

I know Hoopa will have to be distributed at some point since its mega evolution was discovered. Most likely through an event. Volcanion... no idea. I haven't heard a thing about it. I actually almost forgot about it. :huh:
It's actually a little upsetting that we finally don't get bombarded with legendaries in a generation (I'm obviously not a fan of a ton of legendary Pokemon being introduced per generation), and we still can't get all of them. There are only 6! Come on!

Never did get the newsletter with the demo code. :( I had my profile on Pokémon.com set to receive about e-mails bout promotions and stuff. There's other ways to get the demo but what if that newsletter had been the only way to obtain the code. In the very beginning it looked like get demo code from this newsletter or don't play the demo. Guess I'll see about getting the code with purchase of the two Gameboy Color titles for 3DS in November. I'd be far behind getting the demo by then but if I could just get it I wouldn't care then about having waited longer to play it. I admit that I am happy that at least my all-time favorite legendary Pokemon isn't an event-only Pokemon (Mewtwo).My feelings exactly! I'm so glad that my favorite (Lugia) is easily obtainable. My biggest hurdle was getting a shiny Lugia and I finally got one this year!
Mega Beedrill made me way to excited for this game. I haven't used mega evolution past the forced Lucario fight in X, but this time around I'll probably overuse it for one of my favourite Pokemon. The 10 person streetpass thing is so annoying :/ I went to a convention this weekend and only got about 30 streetpasses because I didn't have time to sit down and go through them all lol!It's super annoying! I've been to 4 conventions this year and it kinda sucked stopping every few minutes just to check my streetpasses to make sure I wasn't missing out on getting anyone. Even a 20 person limit would be great!

Pretty much no one is. check out the announcement responses on twitter, folk are PISSED.I'm surprised at the sudden turn of how events are run. Streetpass, code distributions, it requires people to actually get up and do something. Want to draw in customers? Make something any lazy person can get access to. That's why Wifi events are so great, they don't require people to leave the house at a specific time and date.
Plus the Streetpass cap. What if you pass 10 people without the ticket but number 11 has it? Do you miss the ticket?If it's like how it is with Stresspass Mii Plaza (10 person limit) and Animal Crossing (20 person limit)/ Pokemon XY (99 person limit), you would still get that ticket. Assuming you still had space for it in the ORAS streetpass to pick it up.

@Aluke - Yeah the Eon event will go well in Japan becuase nearly everyone has one there (I remember reading how one guy would get 10+ streetpasses just by walking a few blocks away from home, and getting over 150+ while attending a baseball game) and it's easy to streetpass because of it. In the US and other countries? We are much more spread out, with some people living in the middle of nowhere, and streetpassing can be difficult. There are even people who had a 3DS since day one and never got a streetpass before.I can attest to the popularity of the 3DS and even the DS in general in Japan. I would play my DS on my commute to and from my internship in Tokyo and at 22 I was probably the youngest DS player on the train. Plus I'd have unnecessarily long conversations with my department supervisor on whether Phoenix Wright or Professor Layton was better. Even the Pokemon Centers are hooked up to pick up people and display stuff from their games on screens or even to battle strangers. (Look out for those Japanese middle schoolers, man. They whooped me.)
Gaia's events are worse. I keep doing it sparingly, but.... now Gaia's all about money. Like, REAL money. Everything revolves around it. As much as I like X and Y, it's kind of upsetting that you don't really have that much to do after you complete the main storyline...That was the only downside, for me, when it came to X and Y. Still my 2nd favorite generation as far as Pokemon go, but the game content could've been a lot better.

Lots of companies almost lost their release deals with Nintendo, tons of people were fired, it was an unholy mess. Canada did it too.... and most of these countries were a week early, so all the secret details got leaked onto the web a week early... I think the only reason Canada gets the game tomorrow is because it's neighbors with America.... and they do most releases by continent except for Japan..... SO..... as you can imagine, Nintendo's cracking down on retailers this time. NO ONE slips up. And no more same-day releases.

I know that there was a huge crackdown on the local stores here because a few stores released X/Y during the week before release in Toronto, so they lost their rights to having a midnight release for OR/AS. My hubby and I got ours on midnight the day they were supposed to be released, so our store in London was thankfully saved from being punished for OR/AS's release in two or so hours.

I ended my play session last night in Slateport :) I started with Mudkip and named him Kipper xD I did some Wonder Trading and got a Riolu and a Houndoom :) I really like the pokenav thing and the Pokémon popping up in the grass. So cute!

I have a friend who let me borrow her 3DS to do just that, ( though I have pokebank, my 3DS doesn't always get the hotspot signal.)

I transferred my Arceus over from HG to Black to transfer into Pokebank and then into AS.
It was on HG when I bought it, and I knew it wasn't legit... I kept playing with him in my newly restarted party and I really really got attached.... But it looks like Poké Transfer refuses to allow it in. Called him "A problematic pokémon.."
Is there anything I can do to get it to me? :(

Out of curiousity. Have you guys noticed any major changes to the games (sans aesthetics)? Like, any new features, new/modified/extended plot, etc? Also, did they scrap the battle frontier and safari zone this time around? I haven't heard much about them in the new games. Guys I am sort of stuck. I just defeated the team Aqua after they stole a fossil from the scientist in the city near where all the volcano ash is. My rival just transported me back to Maullville so he can defeat the third gym. I already defeated it. I have no idea where to go next. Could someone please help? Has it been proven you can chain shinies with DexNav? I've chained 130 Absols and zero shinies. Still going to see how many it takes.
Well it seems it wasn't my game but my system. It crashed on me this morning when I was in the store. So, because hubby spoils me (maybe a little too much), he volunteered to take me to TRU to get one of the ones on sale. It's blue and not pink, but that's fine with me. I like blue too. And so far it hasn't crashed again.

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have a spare Reaper Cloth hanging around? I've got a Dusclops on my team (for the first time ever, I believe!).
But it's not hard to max beauty stat in ORAS! It's really easy, since pokemon don't get "full" for pokeblocks anymore! I have pokemon that have 100% in EVERY condition because of that!that is good to know! I thought it was so stupid back then how if you didn't max out the Beauty stat before the Pokemon got full, you were basically out of luck.

I think it's neat to see everyone's teams that that they put all of their work into, not random legendaries or shinies that they caught (more like traded for). Those are so bland, IMO.
Im not too big of a fan of a 'shiny only' team, maybe like one or two in a team for me. What I HATE is people online playing with a legendary-only team! They are soooo cheap and lame.... just goes to show how lazy some people are to raise a team -_- legendaries arent this strongest pokes in the game, but apparently a lot of people think 'oh YEEEEH. Imma use all legendaries and win all these online battles!'As annoying and cheap as it is, especially if they have Darkrai on their team and they used that ONE insta-sleep move on the first turn, I admit it drives me nuts when I see people who use only "high-tiered" non-legendary Pokemon just because they are the best ones to use.

My team has had its butt whooped many times so I may be a pushover for you (or you can be my pushover, LOL, either way works!). My Pokemon are EV trained and have proper natures and movesets, but they aren't very strong. I don't go as far as to breed for IV's. I never cared about all that.... I was never competitive, I just play for me. And I usually do well against other regular players too.... I fought a competitive player recently though, and well... it left a bitter taste in my mouth. It feels like it's all about stats and being perfect to competitive players. I was hoping Sui could manage the Sheer Cold with the upped accuracy but it just HAD to be a critical! :lmao:All MegaKhans I fought against were trouble, especially with that "extra attack hit". I've actually thought out an entire team if I were to ever be a gym leader. :lol: The only thing I don't entirely like about gym leaders is how they only deal with one type...my gym would be dual-type.

Type gyms are challenging for the first two gyms, maybe.... but once you get out in the region, whichever it is, you've trained enough and encountered enough types of pokemon to pretty much smear all the leader's pokemon with one move or pokemon. But themes.... there'll be lots of types! Different resistances, unpredictable movesets! Draconic pokemon's been done by leaders and Elite 4.. but dogs, cats, lizards..... there's so many nuances you can take!I am all for this! I could make little buttons for your sig for badges. Does anyone else have a theme team they can run with? I know Flarewing has an Eeveelution team. Element teams should be okay too!

Turns out I can just use reddit! There also a list forming of Blissey bases (http://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/2nej67/blissey_secret_bases_thread/) if you guys find it useful. :)

I have tons of Pokemon plushies but they're all packed away until we move. We just don't have the room right now... but next year! Next year we'll have a house! A house means more room!

Ooooo! Congrats!! :D My spouse and I wish soooo much we can afford a house but here in our area a basic 3 bedroom 1 story house is waaay over $140k! Apartments here are $700-$1300 for a 1 bedroom one bath... its because of how safe our community is which is great, but not great everything has to be sooo expensive! Id LOVE a room of just shelves full of my ponies, pokemon, disney, zelfs, and MH dolls! I also want an Ariel bed and TV put in! That would be a DREAM! :D I want a cool corner mesh toy net to put all my pokedolls in!!!Yeah, our apartment is 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom and a kitchen and a living room. We do have a back room where we can put a washer and dryer, but we mostly throw boxes back there and we have an attic as well with more boxes filled with stuff. You'd never know from my pictures that we have such a tiny apartment. :lol: But it's still super expensive to live here and it just doesn't feel worth it anymore. I do love this town though, because it's awfully convenient and feel very safe. We're just 20 - 25 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, we live a 10 minute drive away from the airport and we're halfway between where my fiance works and where I work. We've been looking at houses in the area and it seems like next year will be the perfect time to get out. We'll just have to accept that all of our money will be going towards a house and a wedding, but it'll all be worth it! 2015 is gonna be a GREAT year for us!
Goodness Gracious! How did you get 500+ flags!? I have only 29! xD I will test everything out and add you! :DI'm lucky enough to get about 10-15 new bases everytime I go online XD Then after snagging everyone's flag, if they have 30+ flags themselves I invite them back to my base, then remove them. A couple of (Silver rank) players have given me an additional 30 flags just for inviting them back!

So my 3DS top screen is way dark and pixelly. Which Google says this is a cable problem in the hinges. I'm pretty sure my warranty is long gone and I bought my 3DS used which means either pricey repair and waiting for it to be fixed or getting another used one.:cry:

Soooo cute!!! I'd be playing with it in Amie all the time!i love seeing some of the legendary/scary pokemon in Amie, since some of their happy faces are too cute! Yveltal reminds me of a cat when you'd try to pet him with how he "leans" into your hand.
I'm not too big a fan of PA, but when they're cute it's too much to resist. Their happy little dances are adorable. :heart:

Also, if you visit a relay during their StreetPass Relay Weekend, which is when you can get SPs from people all over the country/world, you have a great chance of getting the ticket. That's how I got mine.

Not sure why. Like has been said, the Eon Ticket is no problem, but Secret Bases and the like don't register for me unless they're also using OR. The main story is just fine. I dunno... I guess if you were already a huge fan of the original gen 3 games, you'll enjoy the new ones. As someone who never completed a gen 3 game, it's not too surprising that I'm not a fan of the remakes. I thought with the added new features that it'd be worth it for me to get the game, but I told my fiance the other night that it was probably a waste of $40 on my end to have gotten it.
Speaking of, my fiance is also not a fan of gen 3 but he likes the remakes a lot more than the originals. He trekked through the post-game story and agreed that it was really boring and pointless, but he was okay with the main story. He's still not a big fan of the game, and I've noticed that he's gone back to playing X version. He says that he wishes they had remade Emerald instead of Ruby and Sapphire. I never played Emerald, but he said it's the superior gen 3 game. :lol:
I'm definitely not trying to deter you from playing the game though. :P I know plenty of people who thoroughly enjoy the games. Like I said, if you liked gen 3 from the start, you're going to like these remakes.

I have been busy with other new games (Hatsune Miku Project Difa f 2nd, and Fantasy Life, for starters). I barely started on the Delta episode, so i might do it to get it over with. It has been at least two weeks since I played the game?

Is this why I've been getting so many shinys from the Wonder Trade? Last Thur I got a shiny Kyurem! Then yesterday I got a shiny Terrakion followed by a shiny Mawile!!!!! And all three are level 100! I just don't get how this is happening.....

If it's possible to make shinys, I'm sure he's not the only person in the whole world that knows how to do it. :P I just didn't know that it WAS possible. Nevermind! I just scored a shiny Lapras from the GTS! Traded a plain old Corsola for it. I'm up to 14 shinys now! But that includes the event Metagross and the Pikachu that I caught in the Safari Zone.

So my amazing luck with the Wonder Trade continues. I'm now up to 20 shiny Pokemon - 17 of them are from the Wonder Trade! Tonight I received my first double. A shiny Level 100 Giratina. Now I'm faced with the task of finding a fair way to rehome him. I don't want to be greedy with him, but I also don't want to be too generous either. I have a few options.
Send him back out into the Wonder Trade - I'm generous with what I send out, but I don't know if I want to be that generous with my one extra shiny.
Post him on the GTS - I can always trade him for a legendary that I don't have.
Post him for trade on Instagram or here - This way I can trade for another shiny. Maybe even the shiny version of a Pokemon I really want.
Trade him to a friend - I don't have too many friends IRL that play Pokemon. ThatGuyKenai is the one I see the most. He said that he would take it, but he also said that he wouldn't use it for battle.
So what are your thoughts on how I should do this?
