I feel like Hasbro has forgotten what a Twice-as-Fancy pony looks like lately. Though those snow globe ponies, they make me all kinds of happy. <3

Sweetie Drops is a nice surprise :) I'm not sure I like those TAF designs, though. They look like factory errors on RD and Sweetie :huh:

Some of these are better than others--RD's cutie marks just look ridiculous, and those are not Sweetie Drops' hair colors--but we seem to be on a real kick of non-mane-six, sometimes genuinely new ponies lately, and that's great. And it's nice to see a playful-sized Twilicorn without any tinsel.

I can't wait to get Daisy Dreams! She's gorgeous. I really hope she'll pop up in a store so I don't have to pay any shipping. My local stores are so bad at stocking non-Mane 6 ponies.

I like the designs on the TAF ponies but I agree not sure about Sweetie Drops. I am not prepared to re-buy the ponies I already have 'common' versions of though it just seems a bit extravagant  ;)

It seems that we won't get rid of this rainbow power monstrosity for a long time.
I don't care much about another m6 re-release, but when a long-awaited Bon Bon is ruined with this crap, it's really upsetting.

I don't like any of the half symbols on eyes but you know what if it means new characters that are NOT main 6 I will settle and acetone them off.

Snow globe Cadance! Total must have! :squee: I love Twilight too, she reminds me of Jem :) Sweetie Drops looks a bit strange the with candy? Bow? on her eye :P And I agree with Sweetapple about the FS eyes. They look huge :shocked:

I really hate all the eye designs.  The designers seem to be remembering the G1s but instead of putting a symbol on their cheek or forehead, they are making them look like KISS ponies.  Plus the symbol placements are haphazard and not as graceful or evenly spaced as the G1s were.  It is ugly.

A TAF design could have been done in such a way that we all loved it.

I will have to pick up that Sweetie Drops, Sunset Shimmer and Cadance. : D
I think these will be the next wave of single ponies instead of them being packaged with EQG dolls. Mostly because we already have an EQG Rainbow Dash that looks different from this one.

I also really don't mind the eye symbols. I don't think it looks bad and i applaud every tiny thing that looks a bit different.
We are already stuck with non stop re-releases and only 1,5 poses. I would not be surprised if we would get another Sweetie Drops release in the future.

Yay new Brushable character. But it really looks like they have some problems with the stamp machine. Especially RD. XD I do like the Sunset Shimmer though, but maybe because of her lovely colours! And ofc Im getting Sweetie Drops.

Aw man! Sweetie Drops is seriously the pony I wanted a brushable to be made of more than anyone. My excitement is kinda squelched by that design though. Her hair color is wrong. The extra symbols look bad, especially on the eye. :( I still want her but I'll be hoping for a "normal" one eventually.

I really wish Bon Bon / Sweetie Drops didn't have the eye symbol thing.  It looks especially weird on her because it kind of looks like she has a bow--which would be cute if it weren't BEHIND her eye.

I wish they'd called her just Sweetie, or Candy Drops, or something. I don't know why but "Sweetie Drops" just sounds really unappealing to me.

Well now that they've made one, I think they'll probably make another version at some point. That's not to say that one won't have tinsel hair or something though. :lol:

I don't like the name Sweetie Drops either, LadyMoondancer. She will always be Bon Bon in my mind. XD

Navi, you are probably right. I feel like g4 is in some kind of an awkward teenage phase right now as far as designs. I'm hoping they grow out of it soon. :P

I'm not sure how I feel about the symbols around the eyes.  I kind of like it on sunset shimmer and twilight because it sort of looks 80's punk/Jem and the holograms -esque.  But the others just look a little strange, I think that could have been thought out  a little better. 

I'm dying for these Princess Pony snowglobe things, I've got to get one!  I will probably pass on the rest, though.

Interesting...some of the symbols work better with the TAF style than others I think.  Sunset Shimmer looks amazing and the way they've done the symbol on her eye is very good, but Sweetie Drops, it looks like they just slapped the symbols on haphazardly at random.  Still, good to see them putting out some new ponies. :)

This. I don't mind eye symbols either, but I do agree that they look better on some ponies than others. Like I need that Twilight and Sunset Shimmer, I think they look great.
Also, neon Snowglobe Cadance I need you in my collection  ^.^

Oh man.  That Candence.  She's gorgeous.

Also, Daisy looks very pretty.  I like the yellow streak in her hair.

Not too crazy about the "over the eye" designs either. If I decide that I can't live with it I'll just take it off like I took the eyeliner off of my Blossomforth. It's a delicate operation, but doable.

No, I think the brushable is yellow too. Perhaps just lighter so, or perhaps it's an effect of the lighting making her look paler than she is

Definitely some of those TAF type ponies are better than others!  Poor Sweetie Drops (which I agree is not the greatest name for Bon Bon) - her design isn't very well thought out, is it?

Love that clear Cadance though- just wish those ponies were a tad bigger! I've noticed the glitter gets mostly stuck in their hooves and doesn't float around much.
Also wish the legs weren't melded together- but recognize it may have been necessary for the design.  I do love the look of the snowglobe ponies a lot...

I love the snowglobe cadence and sweetie drops TAF pony! The other TAF ponies are just kind of meh. Why does Hasbro keep rereleasing the same six ponies in different patterns? G4 is so boring. Why can't they be as creative as they were with blind bags?

I love cadence's colors! Also, why does she have celestia's mold? The only downside to that is that she would tower  over a figure of shining armor.

I'm very excited about Bon Bon (Sweetie Drops)! Although, her eyes look like the tiny sized ones we saw with Muffin Pony. I had been thinking about making a Bon Bon, but now I think I will wait for this one to "restore" to show accuracy.

THAT BON BON. I WANT IT. I NEEEEEED IT. Also dat Twilight! I wonder now with all these ponies with symbols on their eyes, if Hasbro are going to release them as part of the Rainbow Power line, instead of pairing them all with dolls? I hope so - I have a MIGHTY MIGHTY NEED for all of these things.

Well, except maybe that Cadence. She looks far, far too highlighter pink. Hasbro, she's PASTEL PINK for crying out loud. Why couldn't you have made her less gaudy and look elegant like the Celestia and Luna snowglobes?

I know British candies here in Canada are Lemon drops, Currant Drops, "other flavour" Drops, so it doesn't sound odd to me ;)
AJ honestly looks like she could use a steak for that black eye, though :/

Glad I'm not the only one who prefers "Bon Bon" over "Sweetie Drops." In the past usually I've been fine with replacing popular fan names with official names as they become available (I preferred Vinyl Scratch over DJ Pon-3 but switched when Hasbro started using the latter), but I just like Bon Bon more. :P

The taobao thread is intended as a collection of links to discussion threads for specific finds, not as a discussion thread itself.

This.  Considering how Lyra Heartstrings is getting more merchandise perhaps it will happen.  Because I really hate these stupid extra symbols.  Removing the symbol is probably going to remove half her eye too.  And I've wiped enough tampos off (though never on a pony...) over the years to know there's no way I'll get a 100% factory look.  I either end up with trace amounts of the design still there or I damage the paint (or in this case, the plastic) underneath.

I'm excited for these new ones. I plan on getting two Sweetie Drops, one to keep like this and one to "fix" lol although I love her hair colour....could be because purple is my fav hahaha I can see how it would bug other people tho.

I get the feeling Taobao is losing customers because the prices are now the same or higher than what it would cost to wait and get them in store, and most of the ponies are not rare prototypes that we would be willing to spend a little extra on.

I've been noticing that, too, Marigold. Seems everything is being made for production and very few genuine protos are coming out :/ Fewer protos = more money for more ponies, though!! :lol: But it makes proto collectors sad, I bet. I collect MIB oddities, though, so I think I'm still ok!

I haven't gone through this whole thread, so my apologies and please skip this post if existing knowledge, but the packaging seems to have turned up somewhere under the name "Cutie Mark Magic," which I guess means all the TAFness of "Rainbow Power" but without the extra hair colors. Also, neck ornaments that aren't made of paper!

I'm not seeing an AJ or a TS in the Rainbow Power packaging. Has there even been any release of AJ in Rainbow Power other than the Fashion Style pony and the blind bag sized pony. I really wanted a brushable AJ with a streak like the FS pony has.

Those necklaces are some of the cuter accessories the playful ponies came with recently. They're no animal friends, but nicer than random purses or tea cups. Sunset Shimmer and AJ tempt me.

I'm so glad the packaging showed up and these will be single releases and not in a multi-pack or playset! I just need Bon Bon!

I think the extra symbols on the legs would be easy to remove but the eye would be really tricky. Even though I'm not a fan of the extra marks I probably won't try to remove them and just hope a regular Bon Bon will be made eventually.
