I am a pretty serious Disney addict, but when all of your girlfriends live two plus hours away, your female family-members one and a half hours away and you're the only girl in the household of four, getting to see animated films in the theaters just doesn't usually happen. So I still haven't seen Frozen. XD I know I'm not alone here not having seen this movie, right?!
Seriously, I'm looking forward to it coming out on video so I can finally see what all of the fuss is about! :silly: Just a couple of more weeks!
-
It was playing on the plane when I was flying back from LA this week, and I was really excited to be able to watch it, but unfortunately I was feeling really sick and watching things moving on a screen made it 10 times worse so I had to turn it off :(
-
I haven't seen it. I tried to several times but it just didn't work out. I'm sooo excited for the DVD to come out. I want to see it already!!!
-
Nope :( I have to wait until I can buy it when it comes out.
-
I AM NOT ALONE!!! :D
-
I have not seen it yet either waiting for the dvd yes I know what it is like no kids/girls to go with and watch it.
-
I haven't seen it! I have 3 year old and 8 year old girls but the 3 year old won't stay still for a movie in a theater. The only way we could see it would be to go to the drive in but it's been too cold and rainy for that.
Maybe they'll play it on the plane when we fly home next week!
-
I've not seen it! I find the cinema a colossal rip off so I'm waiting for the DVD. And, of course, the internet has done its absolute best to spoil it for me  I was offered a chance to see if, but only in 3D, which I can't watch (I wish that gimmick would die off again already...)
-
Nope, and I plan to keep it that way, thanks.
-
I haven't seen it yet either! I do want to see it...I think...but mainly because of all the fuss :P
-
I haven't seen it yet, waiting for it to come out on video.
-
I havent seen it yet either..But everyone talks about it constantly..so its all most like i have seen it ;)
-
I haven't seen it either.
-
Nope. I stopped watching movies about 5 years ago. I rarely watch TV anymore, either.
-
I haven't seen it yet as i had no time to go to the cinema at christmas. Really want to see it,shall have to wait for the dvd.

If I hadn't seen it when it first came out I'd be super annoyed by all of the hype. It was super adorable though.
Is it okay to post this here? If not, I'm sorry. Here's the movie, with protective words over it a couple of times.

Nope I haven't seen it! I have yet to see Brave as well. >_>
-
I haven't seen it either, but I'm not really interested. The snowman has struck me as horribly creepy ever since I first saw it, and this morning I was reading about how it fetishizes a very racially-oppressed group (Saami), so I'm even less interested now.
Husband wants to see it though, so we'll probably end up catching it in the dollar theater. A fair compromise, three bux isn't a huge loss.

I haven't seen it yet either...and I have FOUR daughters ages 11 and under!! I'm the worst
-
I haven't seen it either. I probably will eventually given how much people I know seem to like it, but I'm unemployed for now, so going to the movies hasn't been a priority.
-
It's one I'm not all that jazzed about. I'm looking forward to the Muppet movie though! :p
-
Nope. I like old skool animation not cgi
-
I still haven't seen it. I just haven't had time to see any movies! I still want to though...
-
i jsut saw it renetly cnat afford to see it int heaters so a friend of mine sent me a copy ^^ it was really good. some parts were sad.
-
Ive only seen bits and pieces <3
I plan on seeing it later on though^^
-
Aww...Cherry baby, your not alone  I haven't seen it yet either.
I do have a singing Elsa doll sitting here though, waiting to be shipped to Party :P
-
I have not seen it either, so your not the only one!
-
Nope, I haven't seen it either. Right now, I'd rather wait for all the hype to go down, since the last movie that got this much hype (Finding Nemo) left me bitterly disappointed (as in, it remains one of my least favorite Pixar movies to date).
I'm sure I'll like this one better, but I'll also be surprised if I enjoy it more than, say, Wreck-it Ralph.
-
It's wayyyyyy better than Nemo or Wreck-It Ralph. I fel it was more light-hearted and funny than some of them have been lately. I didn't care much for the rock troll people but I still really liked it. Much of the movie is music but not in an annoying way.
-
I have not seen it yet,Im waiting for the dvd as my 11 year old did not want to go to the cinema and my 2 year old is just too little lol
-
Haven't seen it yet, but I really want to!! I've watched every clip and song that has been posted online from it though, so I pretty much know the whole movie already. lol! Counting down the days until I get to see the whole movie! ;D
-
I saw it even though I knew I wouldn't be crazy about it. Indeed, I wasn't. I literally don't understand all the hype. I did like the Snowman though, which is surprising because he looks ugly/creepy in trailers and I expected to dislike him, but he was great. Probably the only highlight of the movie to me.
-
I haven't seen it yet either but looks super cute!
-
I haven't seen it
-
Prior to this afternoon I was part of the "haven't seen it" group, however, thanks to Salli for posting that link, I just finished watching it and I loved it! I cried and laughed so many times lol. I love Finding Nemo by the way, one of my favourites ;)
-
Not seen it, couldn't even tell you what it's about to be honest
Love things like Cars, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, etc and also Tim Burton stuff but can't say I've seen much mention of Frozen (except on here) to know what the story is

I haven't seen it yet. I didn't get around to seeing it in theaters, waiting for redbox to get it.
-
I haven't seen it - I know it's getting rave reviews and it seems to be everywhere, but I just haven't been all that interested. :lookround:
My 9-year-old niece and 6-year-old nephew are coming over for the weekend though, so we may end up watching it with them if the weather isn't good enough for outdoorsy activities.
-
I have not seen it , I am too busy with work, and it is no longer in the cinema in town.
-
Not yet, I don't pay to see movies in the theatre anymore.
-
I haven't seen it either. Honestly I don't even really know much about the plot. I'll see it eventually but it's not high on my list. I haven't even seen Tangled yet. :O
As an aside, I didn't know there were people out there who don't like Finding Nemo! XP
-
I have not seen it either, its not really on my radar but i did LOVE the lego movie.
-
My sister asked if I wanted to see it with her, but somehow we never went to the movies. My mom even asked my what all the fuss was about the movie.
-
I haven't seen it either, not really interested.
-
*raises hand*
Haven't seen it yet and don't plan to. In general, female Disney CG characters look creepy as heck, story was changed so often it became an entirely different story, "funny" sidekicks are a pain, Oscar winning song sounds so much like "Defying Gravity" I'd rather listen to the Wicked soundtrack. I love Wicked.
I hear this one finally concentrates more on the arcs of the female characters instead of having all their problems solved by a wedding, but that's not enough to draw me in. To be fair, Disney movies have underwhelmed me for many years by now. I literally fell asleep when Rapunzel was on TV - and not because I was sleepy.
The only Disney CG stuff I admit to loving are the Tinkerbell movies. They are a not so guilty pleasure of mine, so at least nobody can tell me I just hate whimsy.
Give me five more Tinkerbell movies! ;)
-
I haven't seen it and I don't intend to. Other than Toy Story and maybe Shrek I am just not interested in cartoon movies - which seems to put me in the minority of people for some reason!
-
I haven't seen it either. And our movie theater is literally a 3-minute drive away. I have no excuse, other than it's been a busy few months, lol.
-
My family hasnt seen it either always since a lot of people who share similar movie tastes loved it, I will be buying it. I rarely watch a movie in the theater as I can own it for cheaper ;) I go for maybe 6ish movies a year at most, some years none.
-
You weren't until a couple of weeks ago. It's too beautiful to NOT see.
-
Haven't seen it either and on the fence about seeing it later too. My friend saw it in theaters a week or two ago though. My response: "It's still playing in theaters?!" :what:
-
I haven't. Disney's newest movies (Tangled, Brave, and Frozen) just don't appeal to me. *shrugs*
-
Nope! and frankly, I don't care for it either :D
-

Same here, only I average about 2-3 tops! Going to the movies is so expensive!
-
I work with kids, so I finally had to go see it because I wanted to know what the older ones were talking about lol. Mr. Zenna didn't want to go (imagine that), so I asked my mom if she wanted to go see it with me. We were joined by a lot of other mother/daughter groups, though I think we were the oldest lol. I absolutely LOVED it! I'll be buying Frozen when it comes out on DVD and I already have the soundtrack. I liked the music, I liked the animation, and I loved the story. It was really nice to see a princess movie where the princesses themselves were the heroes, rather than them needing to be rescued. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. :)
-
I haven't seen it yet, so you're not alone.
-

Whoa...No it wasn't. Compared to those two it was mediocre at best, especially when you compare it to the fine storytelling of Nemo. I always tell people that Frozen is far and away better than Tangled, but it is certainly not as great as the hype makes it out to be.

IA, although I didn't really care for Nemo either as a personal preference (story about fish, meh). But Wreck It Ralph topped Frozen for me. And Frozen topped Tangled. Tangled was another big meh in my world.
For some reason I feel like Frozen didn't have much substance. Like there wasn't a lot to it. I don't know. It's hard for me to figure out what exactly made Frozen and Tangled so mediocre to me. It definitely leaves me puzzled being in the midst of all the hype.

I really liked Frozen, but -- don't get me wrong -- I kind of agree that the hype is a bit overblown. *dodges fakies* I'm excited to see it again this weekend, definitely. I got the soundtrack and I've been singing the songs for months. (Literally -- I babysit a six-month-old and have to sing her to sleep.) But Frozen is mainly just a solid movie with great songs and a great storyline, especially with the focus mainly on the relationship between Elsa and Ana. It's not a classic movie quite on the level with Beauty and the Beast. But it's a good movie, in the best sense. So to everyone who hasn't seen it yet, my advice is to not get your hopes up *too* high, but to expect a good movie. Sometimes when I expect something awesomely wonderful and don't get what I thought I was getting it's a downer and I can't see the good parts of what I got.
. . . hope that made sense.

This is how I feel about it. I liked it but I like Tangled more. Heck the LEGO movie has topped anything recent Disney has done in the last few years in my opinion. That movie reminded me why I love Disney so much growing up and now.. ironic that it isn't a Disney film! I did pre-order the DVD for my Disney movie collection :D It was good enough for that, unlike lets say home on the range which did up in the collection but I got it for free which was the only way it was going to ever be on my Disney shelf.
-
When I watched Frozen last week, I didn't go into it having heard a lot of hype about it, I think that worked in my favour. I didn't know anyone personally who had seen it, I didn't even remember seeing previews for it and I didn't read about at all until this thread was posted.
It's a good movie. Did it make it's way onto my all time fav movie list? No. But then again I absolutely adored Nemo and Tangled, but I couldn't stand classics like Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.
I have never been a fan of romance fairytale movies, so that's probably why I enjoyed this one so much.
Speaking from experience regarding overhyped movies, I will admit that as a teenager, when The Nightmare before Christmas and Independence Day came out, I was bored to tears, didn't like either one, way too much hype. Now I enjoy both movies :)
-
Nope. Haven't seen it yet... but we'll get it out when it comes out on DVD. We were pleasantly surprised by Tangled and have heard good things about Frozen so it's on the list.
That and the kids of course want to see it! (such evil parents denying cinema events to the kids!! But like some others mentioned here - going to the movies is sooooo expensive -_-)
-
...and this morning I was reading about how it fetishizes a very racially-oppressed group (Saami), so I'm even less interested now.
I don't see how the film fetishizes sami culture, the only sami person in it is so whitewashed that he's barely regocnizeable as a poc, for fox sake. Incredibly saddening and offensive!
-
I rented it last night, so now I'm off the Has-Not-Seen-Frozen-List, lol. It was really good. :)
-
I have no watch "Frozen" ! The trailers did not grab my attention!

Do you want to build a Snowman?
-
I don't usually buy more than one edition of a Movie unless a better one is released years later or something, but with the complicated 3D situation I ended up preordering the 3D edition from the UK. However, Yesterday the movie was released on Blu-Ray in the US and I couldn't wait so I bought the Target exclusive edition on release morning, lol. I'm actually glad I did as the Target bonus disc is already impossible to find in stores anymore and really the only thing I will have an actual duplicate of between the 2 editions is the 2D Blu-Ray disc, all other content is unique to their respective sets.

-
I wasn't planning on buying it, but I wanted to see it. So when my daughter pointed out in the store, I choose to get it. We have watched it twice. I don't buy doubles in anything though.
-
I haven't seen this movie yet, but I'll also second when it comes to videos and such I don't buy doubles. Takes up more space than I want to deal with. We do have a few doubles of movies we both owned before we got together years and years ago and couldn't decide which one to sell, so they both just sit there. Otherwise one copy of movies is enough.
I figure we will probably rent Frozen and not buy it. I don't tend to buy newer cartoons just older ones. I do want the Jungle Book though. ^.^
-
No, no multiple copies for me, just going to go and buy the movie for kiddo as soon as we can afford it :) I don't really care much to have exclusive content personally outside of mlp related things. Sounds cool though!
-
Watched it today with my son and he was dancing around the living room singing Let It Go lol
-
Any good behind the scenes material? I don't care for the just showing people singing videos..
Also, the soundtrack is going to be on vinyl! It's a gorgeous set for.... 75.00 :(
-
I just saw this on Fox news and had to share ^.^
http://www.myfoxboston.com/story/25043560/reading-firefighters-sing-to-keep-trapped-children-calm
The little girl, her mom and baby brother were stuck in an elevator. She was too afraid to climb up the ladder when the firefighters were trying to rescue them so they started singing Let it Go to her and it calmed her down enough to climb up ^.^
-
That is an amazing story!
-
What a sweet story!

I read several tumblr bloggers who are Sami championing the movie, but in tumblr-land, everything is problematic so of course there will be people saying that is racist as well - despite those people not being Sami. Curious, how is he fetishized?
I love the film. I think it's one of the best they've done. I did love Wreck It Ralph hardcore though. Cars 3 is coming and I'd rather watch Frozen on a loop for 8 days straight than see that movie.
-

fet·ish
ˈfetiSH/Submit
noun
noun: fetish; plural noun: fetishes
1.
an inanimate object worshiped for its supposed magical powers or because it is considered to be inhabited by a spirit.
I'm going to go with "talking snowman" as if I'm correct it's the talking snowman character that is the problem.
Whether or not I am correct, let's quit focusing on this before it drifts to other definitions of that word and I have to lock a thread everyone seems to be enjoying for inappropriate content. Also, if you want to discuss this further, please move on to WYP. Please note, this is not a problem with stating you don't like the movie you are free to continue to say that, however going into a conversation of this sort is not OT friendly as we try to keep OT all happy all the time. It's supposed to be a safe, relatively drama free zone.
And to add, StoryDreamer, this is not at all directed at you but the thread in general. You were only quoted because I was trying to answer your question.
-
Understandable:)
Back on topic: I really want to listen to the score now. Not the soundtrack but the score..
LOL: As I write this, there's kids outside singing Let It Go.
-
I love how complex of a character Elsa is. :)

I like that the act of True Love wasn't a kiss!
Me too! It actually really surprised me since Disney is so known for their true love's kiss thing
-
Okay, my friend bought it and I watched it. WOW! I was pleasantly surprised at just how much I liked it! I already want to watch it again.
-
Just a random question -- is the Target exclusive version of Frozen still being sold at Target? I'd like the bonus disc it comes with. On Ebay the prices are going rather high . . .

At least in all the stores around me, The Target version with bonus disc sold out on the first day of release and I haven't seen a single one since. Most stores around here have already exhausted their original first run copies with the shiny metallic slipcover, and now most copies either have the non-reflective slipcover or no slipcovers at all.

Yes, I totally agree. It was such a refreshing change from true loves kiss, not that there's anything wrong with that. I enjoy a good true love's kiss happy ending as much as the next girl, but having a sister myself I just really loved Anna's act of true love. I'll admit that I share your sentiments in that crossed out sentence too, but I always seem to prefer the bad guys. :P

Has anyone been watching the botched handling of the frozen frenzy by disney corp. and the disney store/disney parks??
  i have been frankly shocked at the lack of frozen merchandise and marketing considering all the hype from adults and kids alike. I can see the original stock from november going out fast after everyone caught on to liking it. but to see every thing and anything frozen completely barren. is shocking. considering there was a very very tiny restock for like an hour on the disneystore.com so i read and then everything was sold out again! >_<
The thing is, i have been watching a lot of parents desperately trying to get their kids merch, and especially the elsa dress for little girls. i was shocked to see the prices silly little disney store toddler dresses were going for. i feel bad for anyone trying to get their kid one.
does anyone have any idea why the disney company hasnt ordered or made more merchandise since the original release? and they refuse to tell customers if they are ever making the dresses again or anything else frozen related for that matter.
as an adult collector who loves elsa, the only things i own were what i was able to snag back in november which was a sparkle mattel cheap elsa doll and the art of frozen book a friend got me for christmas LOL. also snagged the free elsa infinity figure the day of the dvd release
by the time i wanted anything which was 2 days after the release of the movie in theatres mind you.. the disney store was already sold out of anything frozen i wanted. i just wanted the snowglobe (please tell me disney will make another snowglobe and hopefully a nicer looking one maybe with the ice castle?), the disney store regular elsa doll and the elsa mug.
-_- :huh:but they havent restocked anything. nor have the disney reps given anyone any indication that they will be (they would be idiots not to right?) so why is the disneystore and the parks not releasing or ordering more frozen merch? does it have something to do with the manufacturer times? :work:
also anyone know of any adult merchandise coming out at all??
-
My local Disney Store doesn't have much in, they have 1 shelf with some art supplies, Sven plushies and Aanna and I think they still have the Anna and Elsa mugs (I hope they do, my best friend and I want them). But that's it, no Elsa dolls, no costumes, nothing.
-
Honestly, I have no idea why, but instead of getting any 'Frozen' merch in Poland, we have been swamped with everything possible from 'Brave': from keychains, notepads, dolls, everything. But finding anything from Frozen is close to a miracle. We had the same thing happening when 'Princess and the Frog' came out, so I wasn't surprised. I had no idea that it was the same for the, well, whole world, as my friend from Australia recently complained to me about it as well
-
tiny blondie, if you still have mugs there i would be willing to buy or trade for one from you! :P if you were able to snag an elsa one. i love the 2d style artwork it has :)
-
That is interesting that there would be a lack of merchandise given the popularity of the movie (and that Disney isn't shy about merchandising their movies to the moon and back!).
In all honesty I haven't been looking that hard for Frozen stuff since my girls and I only saw the movie for the first time a few weeks ago.

By the way, have you seen how the first meeting between Anna and Kristoff was supposed to go? Look for 'Disney's Frozen - "Meet Kristoff 1" Deleted Scene' on youtube if you hadn't. If he still had that attitude in the movie, I think much more people would like him ;)
-
Finally watched it today as my mum bought the DVD. Pity the internet spoilt the big reveal and stuff but I still liked it. Can't bring myself to watch Brave or Wreck-It Ralph still due to being spoilt for those too ¬.¬
