~ Let's-a go! ~
- Did Nintendo bring joy to your life with their quality games/consoles? Would you like to honor them for that? Then you've come to the right place! Welcome to the Nintendo Swap!
- All customs in this swap will relate to Nintendo in some way, being based around their games and consoles, or third-party games that are playable on their consoles (Sonic the Hedgehog, Metal Gear Solid, Phoenix Wright, etc.). Please be sure that the franchise you want to use has at least one game one a Nintendo console.

To join:
1. You must have been an Arena member for at least 6 months and have at least 5 positive feedback (Arena only, please). Members may join as a newbie if they have at least 2 positive feedback.
2. You need to show examples of 3 previous customs.
- Participant number caps at 12 regular participants and 3 newbie participants.

Rules for this swap:
1. All general swap rules and custom swap guidelines apply.
2. All customs must be done using an adult Hasbro base pony (unless your partner asks for something otherwise).
3. Stick to the theme and present photo check-ins when needed.
4. No letting it slip who your partner is! Keep it a secret!
5. If you cannot go the full length of the swap and need to drop out, it is your responsibility to tell me as soon as possible so that I can make arrangements for a replacement customizer!
6. No shipping early (without permission). When you do ship, remember to keep your shipping receipts!
7. When you send your forms, make the title “Let's-a Go!” to let me know that you've read the rules. If the title isn't this phrase, your application will be ignored.

Agreed on Zelda! I don't even remember where I got it, but my first video game was Link to the Past on SNES waaay back. I'm currently working my way through Twilight Princess, though Ocarina of Time is still my favorite. I even have "Song of Storms" for my ringtone, "Sheik's Song" for my alarm and my text tone is Navi yelling "Hey Listen!" :lol:

Have to say, it's pretty funny when I'm out shopping and someone texts me. Anyone nearby jumps and looks around in confusion! :haha:

I also agree on Zelda and Mario! I played those bad boys on the original NES man. Great memories! I'm also playing TP, but I am near the end of the game. I'm able to go to the twilit castle, but I'm trying to do all the extra stuff. I'm so OCD lol. XD

That's how I feel about Zelda and Mario :lol: I keep wanting to buy one of their games, but for some reason or another I never do. Maybe this swap will push me to do it :P

Though I'd rather watch them played than play it myself. Smash Bros. is anither of my favorites, too! Love it! I just started Pokemon X this week and it's awesome! Nintendo has so many great games! What a fun theme!

I totally forgot about Metroid! I loved thos games! especialy the side scrolling 2d ones!

Is it silly of me to be more annoyed that they only added one new Eevee evolution instead of the typical two? XD And I completely forgot about Smash Bros. I have spent many an hour on that line of games.

Black and White really didn't excite me. I almost didn't get X, but I saw a friend playing it and had to join in! They offer the old Pokemon right along with the new, plus special in battle evolutions of old favorites, the graphics are amazing and you can do a lot of character customization! Some of the new Pokemon are dull, but some are cool.

I didn't really feel for the plot or characters of B&W either. It just felt...meh. I've recently found that I enjoy them much more when I'm doing a nuzlocke or shiny hunting, though.
Can't wait to get my X, it sounds like a lot of fun ^.^ Unlike the last gen, I don't strongly dislike any of the new designs, plus the 3D reminds me of Colloseum.

I've been hearing that a lot, that the game is like colloseum. I loved that one and pokemon xd,but am on the fence about x and y. How close do you guys think it is to the likes of colloseum?

Totally forgot about super smash but I love it xD so many hours lost to those games lol its great to have all ur fav characters in the one place ^.^ also alot of amazing ponies could be made from thats games concept ;-)

Also, there's been a bit of concern over the way a custom is put back together and shipped. This is understandable, because if done improperly, a custom could arrive in pieces... The main areas of concern are the type of glue used and the padding used in shipping.

I can't really offer too much in advice, but to tell of my experiences:
As far as glue goes, I use Fabri-Tac almost exclusively. It's never caused any problems as far as I know. However, it dries super fast, so one has to work super fast... I don't know much about other glues except for what little I've read; stuff like Krazy glue isn't good for gluing hair because it seeps through the holes and stuff like that.

And for shipping, bubble wrap! Plain, clear bubble wrap! Colored stuff (again, from what I've read) is risky and might bleed, and newspaper is out of the question! The ink from newspaper bleeds without fail!

I really don't have much else, and this may not even be helpful to anyone, but I did my best. Just please glue smart and ship smart!

The good news is that I'm almost done! You guys made it so easy on me, and for that, I thank you all! I just hope you all are okay with the partners I've chosen...

There are still a few more small things that I need to clarify, but it shouldn't take too long to get that info. :)

That's why I quit using it also, and it would almost never survive being shipped.

Now I am repairing the Sculpey parts with Apoxie Sculpt and the damn things keep breaking... :( I think I may have to throw the Sculpey parts to the trash can and start all a new with Apoxie.

ETA: I ordered hair for this custom some days ago, it should arrive next week. Not sure how well I am going to pull this idea off but I will do my best!

Also, I drew the ATC card I planned to send as an extra and it turned out rather nice :)

I do end up with about 1,5 hanks too much hair as I did decide to do the pony of the smaller bait but at least the hair should be of pretty color so I can use it for some other project.

First, work messed up my schedule and changed it without letting me know, so my two day week turned into five. And my dads been in the hospital for three days now... its been a great week. So sorry in advance if I don't check the boards as regularly as I usually do. Ill try to check it every few days to answer "dear partner" questions and hopefully ill eventually have time, energy, and general mood to get some sculpting in.

It is air dry! I don't know if Micheal's has it, but it's on ebay.

as to extras: candywise I love gummies, especially sour gummy octopuses, cause the tentacles are hilarious- but theyre getting harder and harder to find. =/
also love oriental themed/looking stuff. =P

Okay, so I'm at that point where I am disappointed in everything I keep trying and frustrated! I'm such a perfectionist that I get so hard on myself when my skill level doesn't live up to the designs in my mind. I'm going tomorrow to look for some more paint colors. The ones I have just aren't cutting it!

Between extra shifts at work to train staff, going on training myself and dealing with major viruses in both myself and my kids I have managed to get NOTHING done for 2 weeks!!! On top of that, my airbrush seized up on me and the very small amount of free time I had was spent tearing it to pieces and getting it working again. Should finally be able to finish the accent coat of airbrush paint tomorrow and get to the details. Hoping to start the hairing Sunday night.

I'm definitely going to be bringing up the rear in this one! :faint:

For treats, anything dark chocolate! :P

I've been killing myself to get my customs finished in time to ship off to my partner tomorrow. A couple of days ago, my five year old (who HAD the chickenpox when he was 1!!!) comes down with the chickenpox and we are told that he has to stay home from school for the next 2-3 weeks. Last night, my seven year old (who had the vaccine at 18 months) started a fever. No spots yet, but we are waiting to see what happens next. So my husband takes the afternoon off today to watch them while I'm at work. I get home after work to find that my husband has decided to "help" me by taking one of the shelves out of my pony desk so I can fit my airbrushing spray booth on there, which I couldn't do in the past because the bottom shelf was too low. Unfortunately, it doesn't come out easily so he's hammering away and sending splinters and broken pieces of wood in all directions. My THREE Nintendo swap ponies were on that desk, just waiting for their necks to be glued and their hair to be styled before they shipped out tomorrow. Thanks to my husband's "help", they now all have damage to their paint jobs - severe damage in a couple of places.

They are definitely fixable, but I think the best method will be to sand down the damaged parts and repaint from the bottom layers up.

So now I have a question for my partner:

Partner, I can fix the ponies I made for you, possibly as good as new, but that will mean that they ship out late. Hopefully I will be able to finish them again in time to ship them out on Monday or Tuesday. Would you mind waiting a bit longer for your swap box to arrive?

The worst part about the whole thing really is that my husband is crushed that he tried very hard to do something nice for me because he knows things have been difficult for me lately and he ended up creating several hours of extra work for me. :(

I know id be crushed. paintwork is almost done on pony #1, tho pony #2 is taking the back seat til #1 is done completely. thanks so much for the shipping extension, im racing as fast as I can without cutting corners. between work and hospital visits im kinda frazzled.
but im off on sunday, so im hoping to get the painting completely done and finally be able to get some progress on #2. :yikes:

I know I wouldn't mind in the least if I had to wait longer for my custom, I got nothing but time. don't pull your hair out trying to bang it out as fast as possible. =]

I got the mail late last night and received the second part of very large ER visit bill that has trashed my family's holidays by dumping in loads of stress. My husband had come in and flopped the mail by me and I saw the letter, opened it and fell apart. Then, he pulls out a box from behind his back...and there she was!

Uninu did an amazing job with a masked head piece for the Absol. It's a really clever design and I just love her to pieces! Uninu, post your pictures and show her off!! I'm calling the pony a her because my Absols in the Pokemon are always female with particular names. >.<

My husband and I were both in awe at the detail on this girl. She is a combo of Mario and Pokemon and WaePonies did a fantastic job on the sculpting and the painting...I love that the Pokemon are trying to help Mario & Luigi :) And I did not realize how large G3 Fashion Style ponies were! :lol: She's going to stand out in my collection in a really awesome way! :D PS - I really like the hair you used for her too!

Please post pics whenever you can Claire, and I'll get some too when I've got a space cleared to take them.

Thank you so much they are incredible! I didn't stop smiling the whole time I was unwrapping them and I still haven't stopped grinning! I love, love, love them! The painting and colors on the MarioKart pony are just amazing and the sculpting on Midna's mask is incredible! My husband is super impressed and my kids totally want the ponies but they are MINE, MINE, MINE!!! :freak:
