I know right!!! Both say 0 available but I'm hoping these will be a release since TS is alicorn!!! :frolic: maybe the earlier translucent prototypes in brushable size were tests to see how the FS size would look!!

I'm seeing they have 10 Rainbow Dash ones. I ordered one a little bit ago still waiting for it to get confirmed though.

I can't quite see, is it just me or does Twilight look like she has glitter over her symbol? That's the one thing that has bugged me about the glitter ponies so far, blank areas around cutie marks. If the FS ponies are either entirely covered or have it mixed into the plastic then I will absolutely need to add them to my FS collection! ^.^

I'm pretty sure its the same as the little ones, on the outside :huh: You can see some glitter on RD's eye. Personally I prefer this, the glitter plastic ponies seem super prone to breaking down and discoloring.

I think it looks on the outside. Look at RD's eyes, you can see some specs of glitter on the eyelashes.

Oh man, I love glittery translucent things. This is essentially Christmas come early. :P As a Twilight Sparkle collector too I am making grabby hands! Since it looks like these will be getting a release though I'll hang fire for a bit. They are £14 each without shipping and agent fees.
I have the glittery Black Tie Pinkie and I had a glittery Wysteria. Their glitter was glued on really well and only a tiny amount of glitter bits came loose. I'd imagine that the glitter would shed more if they were played with constantly, but if they sat on a shelf or stayed MIB I think the glitter would remain mostly intact.

I think they look great and I might be tempted to get them, though I kinda wish they were any ponies besides mane six. Dewdrop Dazzle would look amazing like this. And having Wysteria made me hope that there would be some more earlier gen characters coming back.

These are really fun (and I will probably get them if they are wide-release) but I'd rather have new FS ponies than remakes of the mane 6. We could totally have had a line of Crystal Ponies come out like these and get some new characters.

I know that feeling! I missed out on Minty A this way (if she pops up again for a decent price she's mine). I've also missed out on stuff and then someone's bought practically all of the stock and put it on eBay so they go for crazy prices. :throw: But it does look like these will get a release since another member mentioned that "glitter ponies are coming". The glittery Wysteria and Pinkie Pies showed up in a trickle at first but then suddenly the market was flooded with them.
At least, I hope they get a release. Hasbro are tricky. :P

I wasn't going to buy any more FS ponies because I'm running out of room, but I'd gladly make an exception for them. While I'm not a huge fan of the glitter, there's just something about translucent plastic that I love. It's been that way since I was a kid. I had like 10 pairs of those jelly shoes in all kinds of colors.

After closer inspection I believe that the glitter is ON the pony, not IN the pony.

Take a look at RD's eyelashes in the last picture. You can see glitter on top of the paint. I would rather have the glitter mixed in with the plastic like past generations, but with all the changes to toy safety laws maybe they can't do that anymore. Or maybe this way is just cheaper.

I get the annoyance when you see something, wish for it, and then see it spread all over the forums. But we're all out for that lil something else. I'm pleased I've been able to get some euro exclusive G4's without too much fuss. And I would never have been able to were it not for reading about other people using Taobao. So I thank everyone for putting these threads up :biggrin:
And just for info I use an agent called Bhiner. They work on Saturdays. But it doesn't seem as personal as other people talk about. I haven't seen a way to show a picture and get them to look out for it as well as me looking out for it etc. But they are nice and generally quick. They show you photos of what arrives, tell you if it is different from what you were meant to get, and your parcel before they send it ^.^

That Twilight is GORGEOUS! I hope they release Rarity, Celestia, Cadence and Luna in this set too! Heck, I might buy the entire Main 6 and all the Princesses with this body mold. Love the see through ponies!!!

I have a Samsung Ace 2, and I can place an order for first round payments etc on it, but I find when I'm looking at whether it has arrived with them or ready for the second payment it doesn't work. But my phone isn't that good, I don't feel, at a lot of things.
However it seems to work fine on the boyfs phone and he has a Samsung Galaxy S3. I think it would be something you would have to try and see I'm afraid :huh:

Taobaonow and Taobao Trends do work on Saturdays, but I think they give lower priority to small orders. I usually don't have a problem with them getting back to me right away, but I'm usually placing an order worth $200-$400.

Pronunciation--Bao sounds like "bow" in the song "take a bow". so Tao sounds like "Tow", then you speak like a Chinese:)

I use yoybuy but they do not take paypal sadly. That is their Only downfall. I send them links of pictures and they help and ask sellers that I'm buying from if they have that item. They don't send me a picture unless an item arrived wrong and they will ask if I want it instead. I really like them and tried taobaonow and that just wasn't for me.

There are some on regular ebay- but if you are patient, I'm pretty sure these will be widely released- they haven't sold out yet (which means more numbers than they posted) and after all, Hasbro did say the "glitters are coming" didn't they?
I hope they glitterize all the ponies! I love the sparkly/clear jolly-rancher look :D

I hope they do more than just TS and RD... the comment that they are "fragile" is somewhat baffling- I wonder what the heck they feel like?

Brushables, or playful ponies, are the regular size (3.5 inch) G4s. They have combable nylon doll hair, hence 'brushable'.
ETA: Also, since I've been stalking this thread, I reeeally hope these are released as playful ponies too. I don't have the space for fashion styles, pretty as they are...

It means they have brushable hair, as opposed to sculpted hair, like the blind bag ponies or the ones from the original G4 gift set release.
Whoops someone already answered...but I would have said any pony with brushable hair counted, not just the 3.5 inch ones.

Anyone actually receive their FS glitters yet to determine if the glitter is on or inside the plastic? Got photos from my agent that kinda make it seem like it's IN the plastic, but I still can't tell for sure. I can easily tell from the pics that the glitter is on the outside of Wysteria (who I also ordered). But that might be because the glitter is applied much more heavily to Wysteria than the FSs.

I got my Twilight today! The glitter is outside, not in the plastic, and it's way less than on Wysteria and Pinkie. It comes off when you rub too hard, and the plastic itself is very soft. Could be from the heat though. I opened the bag and almost fainted because of the smell .... total plastic/ glue/ factory smell. It's terrible. I think if a baby licked it, the baby would be poisoned, so unhealthy seems the smell.
Other than that, gorgeous pony!

These are going to be heavily handled kids toys coming in at least $14.99 a pop. They expect kids to play with these all day and get glitter all over their hands, and somehow it's not supposed to end up in their mouths at all? :enraged:

Actually, at least for Wysteria and Pinkie- the glue is REALLY stuck on there- I think it is embedded in resin coating the ponies. It's really hard to get off even when determined to do so...

That makes me feel a lot better, thank you Galactica! They must have put a special coating over the glitter to seal it. I was afraid from Honeycomb's description that is was just like the blind bags, slapped on with some glue.

I have the Pinkie proto with regular balloons. Her glitter is on the outside but when handled it hasn't come off on me or my son.
I'll admit it does seem cheaper but maybe they are trying to avoid the issues that the G3 glitter ponies have with break down and glitter loss (?) just a thought.
Maybe this is their way of fixing the sticky feeling and mysterious glitter loss.

I keep a good eye on my G3 glitters but I've seen pics of Glitterbelle still MIB and she's a weird pink colour (instead of purple) with no glitter!!!
Soooo I was wondering if this is Hasbro's way to avoid that...or am I giving them too much credit and they are actually just cheap hahaha XD I guess we won't really know

Oh!! I didn't realize that was the source of the glitter-less G3 ponies! I knew they had a problem with seepage, but didn't realize that the glitter actually broke down! How odd!
Do G1 glitters have a problem with seepage? I know they have terrible problems with yellowing and discoloration- but that probably could be prevented with careful storage- maybe...
I'm guessing the translucent/shimmery ponies (like fluttershy & Rarity) got cancelled in favor of the glitter-on-the-outside look because of some issue like the plastic was too fragile or unstable or something.

If this isn't too horribly off topic: I just got the new transluscent Funko Dash with glitter in her body. Would that type of hard material have the same problem of glitter breaking down, or is that just a normal-pony-plastic thing?

Since the material is really different between MLP and Funko vinyls- it might be more helpful to look at 10/12 year old Funko vinyls that were cast in clear sparkly vinyl- if any such things exists. Otherwise we'll just have to wait another 12 years and find out what happens.

When you just scratch slightly with your fingernail, the glitter comes off from Twilight. It's not really embedded in the resin as with the other ones. :(
Good thing is, now that she has been "aired" she doesn't smell anymore.

It might...it might not. Funko and their products are completely new to most MLP collectors and Funko as a company have not been about as long as the original G1s - in fact although they were launched in the late 90s, it was really not until 04/05 something like that that they started so many of their licensed products I believe, so many of their items have been about for a shorter time frame than many G3s.
It is still a flexible, mouldable plastic being used but it is of course a different manufacture process in order to ensure the ponies are solid and not hollow like regular MLPs. There is also slightly less of the mass market production about the line than regular MLP so this suggests, but does not guarantee, a better quality.
With these...I honestly think only time will tell. All plastic breaks down at the end of the day, the speed and manner of break down is what varies.

Are we sure the glitter is not literally through the entire plastic batch? So it would of course appear to an extent on the surface but if we cut the pony in half [THEORETICALLY before anyone throws things at me] I wonder if the glitter would appear on the surface of the inside as well.

Also since the ones that are out now are early toys taken from the factory without permission, some might have been removed from the production line and sold before the resin/coating/whatever was put on the toy. :) So the actual toys sold in the store might have the protection that Galactica described, but Honeycomb's glitter comes off more easily.

They aren't taken without permission. That isn't how Taobao works. They are sold (By Hasbro) super cheap because they are factory flaws. Then sellers stick them on Taobao

Not sold by Hasbro - sold by the factories which manufacture for Hasbro. Hasbro actually contracts its manufacture to 3rd party factories like most multinational companies nowadays. :)

My sparkle Rainbow Dash came today!!!!! I have some errands to run right now, but I'll try to get pics up later today. I'm just glad I decided to put my errands off until after I watched MLP this morning. The mail came this morning at about 9:45. Then about an hour later the mail lady came back with my package and she needed me to sign for it. If I hadn't stayed home to watch ponies I would have missed her.

The seller that I bought mine from has not restocked and it's been almost 2 weeks. There were originally about 30 of each listed, I think, so the numbers on eBay aren't inconsistent with that number. That being said, I do think these will be released officially. So you'd just be buying them early. But based on current prices, you wouldn't be paying as much as you did for glitter pie or Minty B.

I popped Rd's head off to check this theory. There is no glitter IN the plastic. Her neck plug has no glitter on or in it at all.

Yep, I think those glue drops are quite common in them--most of my sparkle Dashie's (I had 5) have them in one place or another. TS's plastic is darker, so if she has them they are less noticible.

I doubt we'll see the playful pony size, those were make in 2010 but who really knows what goes on at Hasbro!!
