Seen on taobao.
She has a black and white theme cutie mark similar to the translucent glittery Pinkie Pie seen on ebay recently but also black and white streaks in her hair. Hm, what are you planning Hasbro??

I just wish she had more going for her than the cutie mark and the hair. If she had some sort of neat design and a different set of eyes (like a different facial expression) I think I'd like her better. Hopefully she's not the SDCC or Fair pony, but part of me would be happy that I don't have to go out of my way to get her. :/

Meh...Hasbro is also the same company who handed out Love Wishes for the fair one year, and didn't give PonyCon UK any ponies last year. So I don't put anything past them.

Could be for anything. Could be the factory workers having fun, who knows. Looking at what the!y have released in the past for sdcc, this doesn't really scream special sdcc run to me at all. Heck, she doesn't even have the shading on her eyes. She could be a toys r us release for the anniversary like zecora.

I hope it's an exclusive for a particular store like Target (because of the colors?) or Walmart for the regular Fashion Style msrp. I mean, it has been a while since Target got new themed exclusives.

I do think she could be the fair pony. We know we aren't getting any art ponies anymore so the fair pony is likely a main 6 pony or a "fan favorite". She is also a fashion style pony like the last one and it's not as if Drama Pony had a very spectacular design.

Yes but she wasnt $50 - I wouldn't doubt she is possibly a part of some kind of anniversary release and more likel at the Fair [perhaps to do with the Hall of Fame or something] rather than to retailers - 2 sellers with a reasonable stock on her is a good indication she is more than just a prototype [a la Minty]. But $50 for a pimped Pinkie seems high.
I am going to doubt she will be the SDCC release - that is clearly targeted at a different market now - I would think if Hasbro wanted brony hype, this is not the product to go with.
With SDCC getting the EG release and confirmation - perhaps the Fair will get a pony and SDCC will get something else? Perhaps one of the doll & pony sets we have had confirmed?
But then again...this is Hasbro...they pretty much never do what we expect.

Black is an odd choice for a pony like Pinkie Pie. I'm wondering if it is a test run and they will change the black to another color if she is an official release. Kindof how Applejack came out with ten different colors of tinsel including a black.

Hasbro DID do a version of Pinkie Pie (G3) at the Memphis Fair, but at least with that one they made it an "artistic" pony and not just glitter and a couple color mods
I already voiced I hope she's not THE fair pony (especially so if it costs less to get her now than it does to get through Hasbro), but I wouldn't mind if she's another exclusive. I do like the colors and would like to have her...but not for $50 or for the precious Fair pony

This year is the first year the pony fair is having a special dinner:) From the fair website:
Pony fans are invited to attend the first MY LITTLE PONY Fair Celebration Dinner and Hall of Fame Ceremony held Friday night, July 5th at the Sheraton Indianapolis at Keystone Crossing Hotel. Be part of the magic as two lucky ponies are inducted into the MY LITTLE PONY Hall of Fame. Enjoy a lovely catered dinner with fellow MY LITTLE PONY enthusiasts and special guests before the hustle and bustle of the festivities on Saturday and create memories that will last a lifetime. In addition to dinner, guests will be given a special MY LITTLE PONY Fair merchandise gift. A photographer will also be on hand to take pictures of you and your newfound pony pals. Suggested dress for this event is resort casual. Seating is limited for this special event, so be sure to reserve your seat as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
It does say that we'll get a "MLPF merchandise" gift though, so I doubt it'll be a pony. That to me means maybe a cup or something with the fair logo on it but who knows? I secretly hope it's a trading card lol.

I really like her and think she looks awesome. From what I could see though the three sellers who have her didn't have much stock - an allleged 35 between them. I know that's a lot compared to Minty, but still not as much as a Mrs Cake seller I saw who supposedly had well over 100!
I know Ditzy was available prior to her release, but she was prototype with the larger eyes and different hair right? Does anyone know how many sellers had of those prior to the reveal?

I'm (figuratively) going to put my money on her being a Target or TRU exclusive pony, I'm just not sure why they'd give out such a big pony at a dinner? But I've never been to an event before, so what would I know, haha :P

Awww... I checked on my Taobao order and it looks like they are already sold out. Of the three sellers that had them, I only see two up now, and both say that the item is gone. I'm sure she'll be back.
I actually don't think that they are the dinner ponies just because there WERE so many on Taobao- three different sellers had quite a few at first. More than just a few each. Honestly for the same reason, I am thinking it is probably not the Fair/SDCC pony either. There were only a few of those GREY SDCC ponies leaked last time- smaller quantities than the Pinks.
I don't think the pricing means anything- the prices for those "Design-a-Ponies" was about the same, and has only now decreased. The prices are always high now for brand new FS Ponies- at least at first.
I bet she is going to be an exclusive somewhere. I'm very very curious to see what accessories she comes with. She could be so easily made by re-hairing- but if she comes with a top hat and tails- that would be awesome :D

I really like the way she looks and would want her, but not so much as to purchase her asap on Taobao.
I'm hoping she will be an anniversary celebration pony with some cute accessories. That way if people like her they can grab her without having it be as limited and it won't ruin the exclusive expectations. She doesn't seem worth the exclusive price anyway.

I'm betting so. If that's the case, it would be very disappointing. But guess the TaoBao sellers are catching on to making a few more $$$. Split up the blind bag ponies for a profit, then repackage a variant pony in it to make it "unique" and charge an extra $20. =/

In the group order they are offering "in box" and loose ponies as part of the order. I wonder if this is the packaging for the in box ones. They are going to be slightly more expensive.
I saw that. These were in the auction for about an extra 10 yen. Probably found the boxes at the factory just laying around. I wouldn't pay the extra, unless you really really want the box lol.

I will say that even though the box doesn't match, it COULD be that they are testing what her packaging shape could be. In which case, we could postulate that she will be an actual, boxed release of sorts.

It's hard to tell what she may actually be for. The only thing i can think of, with colors like that would be an anniversary or graduation lol. MLP is turning 30 so we know it probably has something to do with that. You just don't see Hasbro sticking black and white on a pony for a every day release.

Now see, I would have thought they would hair that pony the same way. Instead she has glitter which the big one does not.
Another thought popped into my head is that little one was the first test run and they decided to go with something bigger.

The difference with this one though in comparison to some others is surely the quantities she has turned up in - several re sellers with reasonable quantities.

I have mine on order now, all paid and done up.
But I looked at three sellers. Two had 5 each and one had 25 (allegedly obviously :P) But one seller never responded to my agent - perhaps they had run out.
But this is kinda low when I compare it to Mrs Cake and Molasses, where the seller I got one from had well over 100 in stock supposedly. Which makes sense as we now have the confirmation it is being released, so there would be loads of them around.
I'm still wondering if they are trying and testing things out. I'm confident it will be released in some sense or another, but perhaps they have done a trial batch and then changed their minds on something.
It sure will be cool to see what it is eventually released as/under ^_^

The smaller batch could be because they are for some kind of store exclusive. We know what TRU has on the way but what about Target and Walmart? I doubt they are going to sit back and let TRU get everything.

Agreed- She is actually being released in greater numbers than a lot of the store exclusives we've seen, (there are already far more of her available on ebay than there ever were of Nightmare Moon from the friendship set), and from at least 3 different sellers? We don't see this with the prototypes they never made. So yeah, I'm sure she will be an actual release.
For the ones that were never released like Minty, White Celestia and the translucent ponies, there were only a handful. Particularly translucent Rarity (1), Wysteria (3?) Fluttershy (5-10) Pinkie 7 - ?)

they were 168 yuan last week, they are up to 208 Yuan as of now. I believe all three sellers have her listed at that.
