Hello all my lovely fellow pony enthusiasts! I am proud to announce the third year of the Southeast Pony Meet! The last couple of years have been just grand and I have no doubts this year will be any different! I hope to see new people as well as good friends! ^^ I am making this thread early since I am leaving in a few short weeks for China! I will be gone for 5 weeks, but there will be others here that can answer any questions you might have. Or, you can wait until I return in June and I will get back to you as soon as I can! ^.^
DATE
I have picked August 10th as the date for the meet this year! It will before my next semester starts so things will still be relaxed for me to plan and organize :> If a large amount of people cannot attend this day I will hold a vote to change it. The meet usually lasts from early noon to around 6 or 7 in the afternoon.
WHERE
The meet will be held in the same clubhouse it has been in for the past years! It is located in Lawrenceville, Georgia which is about 30 minutes from Atlanta. There are plenty of tables for people to set their goodies and chairs for everyone to sit in. My house is right across the street and I am more than happy to have anyone stay the night if they would prefer not to drive home in the same day. Our doors are always open and we have plenty of sleep spaces. :biggrin:
HOW IT WORKS
The past couple of years I have had a small entry fee to help pay for the venue, however, this year I will be trying something different. I will be paying for the venue myself, out of pocket, however this means I cannot provide raffle prizes or any other goodies. This part will be up to you guys! I can work with whatever anyone may bring and I think it will be much easier this way!
When time gets closer I will be taking RSVPs and please, I BEG, if you RSVP please be certain that you can go, especially if you reserve any tables! Walk ins are more than welcome as well, but I cannot guarantee we will be able to get food for you. However, there are plenty of fast food places and other restaurants around if we can't! I will be ordering a to go order for everyone from a sandwich place(They have gluten free options!) nearby and everyone attending will be responsible for chipping into pay for their food :)
HOW TO RSVP
RSVPing is simple! I will be taking them during the month of July :) Simply email the provided form to me with your name and Arena name included in the Subject Line along with "RSVP"(*'s mark optional). RSVPs will end August 5th!

*Table Reservation(1-2 is the most commonly reserved #): #
Bringing: Snacks, drinks, prize donations, crafts, forks, spoons, etc.
Will you be ordering food? (from Jimmy Johns if you wanted to look at the online menu)
ACTIVITIES
Activities this year are still being decided! If you have any suggestions feel free to throw them out there! Some possible ones include:
- Balloon Pop
- Cutie Mark Bingo
- Guess the Ponies in the Jar!
- Fun craft table
- Trading/Selling ponies of course!
- Possible after dinner if people are interested :)
Donations!
There will be a prize for all contest winners! Here is a small list of prizes that I know will be donated as well as other various goodies and treats. This will be updated as I hear from attendees! We will need forks, spoons, plates, napkins, snacks, etc! ^^ Anything you could bring will be greatly appreciated! :heart:

WHAT TO BRING
Here is a small list I came up with and feel free to bring whatever you want! This is just a rough list and I may add things as I think of them. By no means do you have to bring everything listed! These are more suggestions than anything. ;)
- Ponies for sale/trade(if you want)
- Money for food
- Prize donations
- Forks, spoons, plates, or napkins
- Drinks such as juice, soda, water, etc
- Snacks
- Any fun crafts you might want to do
- Just things to share or show off!
CHILDREN
I realize the subject of children is a picky one as some people are comfortable having them around while others are not. I, myself, am more than okay with children! If you need/want to bring a child along please make sure you let me know when you RSVP and let everyone else know by posting here or on Facebook. If we do have kids along I can assure you I will think of some fun things to keep them entertained, but please make sure they are watched at all times to respect others' wishes. I know a lot of people don't want kids running around and getting into things they shouldn't, especially if it's their collections and things they hold near and dear. Thank you so much in advance for understanding this!

More than likely I will be able to go, but with my busy travel schedule I don't think I will be able to RSVP until last minute. If I can go, which I am crossing my toes and fingers because I just love seeing you guys, I'll bring snacks and donations for the prize table. Any idea of identification tags as of yet? If I go I will definitely make some customized stickers that say SE Pony Meet 2013 ect and can use the pony design this year. Anyway, I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip to China! :D

Dang, I grew up in Lawrenceville (Brookwood HS represent!)! I might be back home for a wedding around that time so I'll just leave this here so I get updates.

Oh I think we can do better than that :P I can design something and simply use my own printer to make paper name tags, also I will pay out of pocket for the stickers even if I don't go, no reason why we can't continue the awesome tradition (I like collecting the meets tags :>)

Well, good news - I have already picked out a raffle prize to donate and I have my trade/sell boxes ready. Bad news my fiance, Darrin, has to work that Saturday and can't make it this year again lol.
Anyone planning on bringing items other than pony for trade/sale? Like Monster High? ;)

This sounds so fun! I'm about 7 hours from Lawrenceville, so I really will have no idea if I can make it until a lot closer to time. I start my third year of medical school July 1, so I'll have to see how that's going.

That would be amazing too! ;D I am still working on coming up with a list of activities x3 I can't wait to see the merch you found! :D I will be keeping my eyes peeled in China although my finding anything pony is extremely slim haha :P
Would anyone be interested in a gift exchange? :) And as I would love to do a balloon pop it would require a lot more prizes ;( so i'm not sure if it will be doable x3 So would you guys be okay with just a cutie mark tic tac toe and a scavenger hint? :3

Last year was my first pony meet- I admit I was shaking on the car ride there, but by the end of the day I felt totally welcome and at home :D I hope you can make it, this is a really chill and fun group of people!

We would just love to have you if you are able to make it! :D I was also nervous when I hosted the pony meet the first year but it went so well and everyone is seriously the sweetest. I could not have asked for a better group :)
Well, there is lots of shopping in the area if she wanted to do that! Haha As in fairly close to about 3 malls(Including the Mall of Georgia) as well as a strip mall only 5 minutes away and anything else you could dream of :) As far as having things for her to do at the clubhouse that's not pony related I am not sure :[ The clubhouse sadly doesn't have wifi. We will have lots of snacks and food though if that counts :D And great company!

Hahaha yeah, I haven't been around the TP much. I dropped off of the pony planet most of February/March because we got a new puppy and I couldn't sit at the computer 2 seconds without him going nuts.

Ahhh I so want to come, I just don't know how I can get the time off work. Maybe I should just see if I can take all of August off... I have a wedding in Rome (GA) the first weekend of the month and Dragon*Con the last weekend. So much flying.

Your family sounds a lot like mine! It used to be a family thing for us too. But now it's way too crazy to go, they do GenCon instead and I just stick to my furry cons. I really miss the days when D*C was enjoyable for us!!

Haha and see I'm completely not a shy person at all! I talk a million mild an hour, but I dunno something makes me feel I'll have a bit of nerves this time possibly. I'm sure it won't last long since I do like to talk. Hmm maybe because I haven't talked to a lot of you ladies in this area before. :lol:
I did talk to my other half though, and she is agreeable about going. I think we would make a weekend out of it and probably get a hotel. At this point I'm only waiting a bit more till June to give a for sure yes or no because of our moving. We are actually moving into our own place and I'm trying to snag a new teaching job andddd get my horses over by me. If all goes well totally coming! If I fall flat on my face and end up working at Walmart. J might not come. >_<

Making a want list is also a very good idea. I am interested in G2's this year, along with merchandise and Jem and the Holograms if anyone has any.
As for the pamphlet, I think it will awesome! Using a G1 vintage background. It will include event logistics, attendees name (so will need that rsvp toward the meet start), activities, the food, ect only two pages (1 folded, info on all sides) and everyone gets them free! Woop. This gets better every year. And I can't wait for samitches. :>

1st drafts of the pamphlet. I am new to PS but did my best to remove creases and folds, managed to get all the original text out. Figured these vintage brochure pamphlets would work out great. I think most were obtained from mylittlewiki.org for credit/reference. Still need to change font/color and some space in the middle. Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Yeah I totally forgot to keep up with this board. I realllly wanna attend this and I mean my parents live right there so I don't see why I wont be able to, however I'm so scared of saying "yes I will 100% be there" and then work popping up and me not being able to go.
I read through everything and I will say the first part about children is a point i'm glad got covered. My husband and I are NOT children people, I work with them all the time in the parks, but I prefer to have adults around. I don't mind children but for some reason they always want to flock to me and touch me with their tiny hands and what not *shiver*
As far as donations are ya'll still looking for stuff? What kind of stuff has been donated and for what? I thought about drawing some stuff and donating it or painting or something but I dunno how well that'll go over.
As far as what I'm LOOKING for? I'd say g1s. I'm not really looking for the other generations.... As far as pony merchandise anything really I'd like to know what others have. Baits are cool and I have a love of BBEs!
What kind of stuff is everyone else bringing? I know at like anime conventions people bring stuff to sell, are we selling/trading stuff or just hanging out?
Gah I know so many questions, but I totally dig on craft stuff and I can start collecting stuff in anyone is interested....
And the comment about hairing needles? YES Please

I was curious with most of you living there you might could give me suggestions? Where/what is a nearby decent hotel? I'm considering driving up Friday an staying Friday and Saturday. It's about an eight hour trip for me. Any nearby ones someone recommends that are decently priced?

oh gosh, well I use to live there back when I was in college back in 2006, alot has changed since then. My parents still live up there so my hubby and I will be staying with them. I will ask then if they know any places that are cheap. 8 hours, where are you coming from if you don't mind me asking?

As far as the selling and trading went, those of us who wanted a table let MNN know ahead of time and she reserved one for us, and we set up all our ponies (and some non pony items). Some people prefer to sell, and some people (probably most) are open to trades. I traded some stuff at my table for quite a few things at other tables :D And you don't have to have a table- you can bring as much or little as you like. Mostly, we just have a good time hanging out together ;)

Hehe, I doubt I need a table for mine. I don't have a ton to bring. My poor small stash of things to trade will look tiny compared o everyone else's stuff. :lol:
That would be great if you would ask them Fox. I would appreciate it because I'm always worried I will pick a hotel that isn't very good. I'm coming for the central area of Arkansas. I think other than a pony meet if it popped up in Memphis this is the nearest one I've seen. Lol, we need more things in this location. >_<

It's a long drive for me as well; about 7 hours or so! But worth it :). Last year I scored a load of great ponies and met a load of great people that I can't wait to see again. I may bring a few ponies to trade but I'm mostly looking forward to just hanging out with fellow pony people.

I think I have maybe four or five ponies total to trade so not a huge bit to carry along with me.

If you only have a little to bring and don't need a table, you could put your items in basket and carry them around or a few people could share a table.

I have asked my family and they are keeping an eye out.
I thought about asking for a table so I could do a ' pick a pony" game.
It would be kinda like the rubber duckie grab you see at school fairs and what not. You have a table of paper ponies and you pay like $1 for one. (maybe less than a buck) you flip your pony, if there is a sticker on the back you win a prize. if there's no sticker you keep the paper pony craft you chose. The prizes would be little art pieces. That way if you win you get a paper pony, AND a pony art piece.
...... not sure if anyone would like it though.... I've gotten some really nice paper as of late and have been playing with it and ponies.
As far as pony trading itself I don't think I have all that many to trade so they may just hang with me in a basket.
ANOTHER question: is there any plans for pin the tail on the pony? I could make a large pony and tails and whoever wins gets the pony maybe? Just an idea of more activities. Another friend laughed at me when I tried telling her about this and she asked "are you sure these are adult pony arena members and not children?" I gave her an evil glare pretty similar to this :mad:
I guess I'm a big kid at heart so I dunno, what do ya'll think, am I being too childish with these little ideas?

Urocyonfox: Drawings for donations is PERFECT! Anything and everything pony related is more than welcome for prize donations :) I myself love drawings and would be ecstatic to win some by you! I also just love your game ideas! Seriously I think a Pin the Tail on the pony would be hysterical xDD It's years since I've played something like that xD I myself am more like a 11 year old at heart :) most of my money goes into cute toys and plushes. Haha xD
I will be bringing a box of ponies which I will be putting on a table for sale :) if anyone is interested in art commissions or anything like that I will do that as well :blush: also if you might be interested in a custom pony by me we can arrange that at the meet at well :D in the past years there has been LOTS of selling and trading and I always leave with bunches of goodies ^^ and while we sell and trade we hang out and chat :) it is super chillax and we all just kind of go with the flow. Lol :P I will totally make some needles to bring! ^^
And not having FB is fine! Everything as far as updates is posted here as well ^^ I have a lot of anime posters and other goodies, but I wasn't planning on bringing them to the meet unless people were interested :) I have things like a Reno action figure, various posters and scrolls, and lots of manga I want to get rid of. I literally live right across the the street from the clubhouse so I can easily walk you over there to look and see if there is anything you might like to but :) I have a couple Sailor Moon things but I think another one of my friends wants to look at it. Haha ^^

I can't think of any right off the bat but that's because I never pay attention. I know CapnChan stayed in a hotel once and it was maybe about 15 or 20 minutes away :) would you like me to send you the address and you can look hotels close by? :) can't wait to see the goodies you bring!
As far as trading and selling it goes about just like it does at the fair ^-^ just let me know if you need a table when you RSVP and I will set it up the morning before people arrive. Trading selling at the meet is much more relaxed than the fair in the fact that you can simply get up from your table and walk around and not have to worry about anything being stolen :3

There are 30 ponies in total (ten earth, ten unicorn, ten pegasus), 12 of which have stickers on the back. You pay 50 cents to choose a pony. If your pony is blank on the back you keep your pony, if your pony has a sticker on the back not only do you keep your pony but you get to choose a piece of pony art as well. :3 I think they turned out pretty cute.

my hubby said to go ahead and say RSVP and say, yes, we will be there. We are not huge jmmy-johns fans however, so we will be eating at the panda express that is near by. (we miss it ever since we moved down and the closest panda around is like 89 miles away)
As for pony price I never know what to charge (shoot I forgot to ask do we need to pay for a table? or just let you know we need one) cause these ponies take up a whole table all on their own!
I am in the process of creating the "pin the tail on the pony" board and an art piece for donation. I've also been creating a few little prizes to donate as well.
Wanted to ask if anyone is interested in doing like a mc donalds custom SWAP and we just exchange them us there? I'd love to get some customs and make some for others!!

Tables are free :) the clubhouse has a bunch of tables and chairs that are free to use ^^
I am not sure as far as the custom exchange! I would be afraid I wouldn't have time :( we have talked about doing a little mini gift exchange though :3

Hi there pony peeps! I'm finally chiming in here to say that I'm thinking about coming, even though I'm more than a little nervous about the idea (introvert with social anxiety, anyone? but I certainly seem to be in good company with that nervousness here, so maybe it won't be that hard.) I'm in NC and it looks like it'll be about a six hour drive, which isn't too bad. I don't know for sure that I'll be able to come, my husband is talking about going to visit his family in OH that week, so I may be doing that, but I definitely would like to come. I'll let you know for sure as soon as I can, and what all goodies I can bring if I can come. It'll be really nice to get to know you great folks in person!

I also live in NC, a little outside of Boone. And it's a 4 to 6 hr drive for us, depending on how many times you stop and such. I have family in Fayetteville, so we go to that area all the time.
I'd love to go, but I'm afraid I'd be too nervous/shy to talk and participate in any pony fun... :blush:

So I know how to make these little origami stars and I decided to make a few jars of them in a "guess the star" game. You can try to guess the number of stars in each jar to try to win a prize.

You will be allowed to pick them up and look around (no openong please!) becuase they might be tricky and have other goodies taking up space.
So you will look at the jars, decided how many you think there are, and after everyone casts their guesses (you will write them on a sheet I'll have there) I will announce how many stars are in each container and who had the closest guess.
Question of prizes, what do you get if you guess close to the star ammount, first you get to keep the jar you guess the closest on, second you get on of these little gals (customs by myself, the paint quality is the glass they were made of not me I swear!!)

I'm a little worried about the white elephant thing. I remember in girl scouts we did one and everyone else got such nice camping related items, then someone took my really nice item and left me getting this stuffed girl doll you would get out of a claw machine. I was very disappointed and the whole thing put a bad taste in my mouth. I'm worried that I would get something I adore and then be heart broken when someone else took it. Or for goodness sake, someone who get something THEY really like and I take it away from THEM. Oh I'd feel terrible. I would like to say that since it is pony related I would not be as bothered but you never know.....
And for my RSVP my hubby will be coming along as well (dunno if I mentioned that, however he is not a pony fan, he is just coming for me <3)

more origami, these are little boxes I made. They are small about the size of a trading card and will be filled with random goodies inside. (I made them out of old pony calendars, and in doing so learned that most calendars centers are pony-butts. When you make the boxes whatever is in the dead center of your paper is what is on top of the box ha ha ha)
Inside these boxes there will be a series 1 location trading card, some g3 stickers, some origami stars, pony tattoos, and one of these home made by me ATC cards that were made exclusively for this pony meet. (it says so on the back, they're limited edition XD.)

The cards are random in the boxes, I have no idea who I put into which boxes so if there's one you really really want you may be able to trade with someone at the meet. (I will say, I feel pretty vain saying this but I found so many of them adorable it was hard not to keep them myself, how vein right to want my own art? ha)
So i'm not sure for prices on these either, I was thinking fifty cents of a buck (I want to keep all my little home made stuff cheap so that people can buy oodles of them.
I also have the series 2 poster set of 4 that walmart released in case anyone did not get one around that time. I will bring those as well in case anyone needs them. (I was horrified to find out that a ton of them were just thrown away because people weren't taking them from walmarts) So if anyone needs them I will be bringing them as well.

It is absolutely required that all gifts be wrapped so no one can see what is inside :) and I am requiring all boxes be of equal value and there is a required amount of pony that must be in there! Okay guys! Here are the rules! I hope I got it all covered xD
Gift Rules:
-must be between $10-15, and please do your best to stick to this. I don't want someone to receive an amazing box and someone else to feel cheated if they didn't get much. I want this to be as fun and equal as possible ^^
- must contain at least two tangible ponies! These can be customs or plushes.
- must be mostly pony but it can contain small, no pony gifts such as funny items or candy or just general cute stuff :)
- must be wrapped! We shouldn't be able to see the goodies inside and try to make it as peak proof as possible lol :P
If you are unsure if your box will be within these limits, just PM me with your concerns and we can discuss! Also, if everyone wants to bump up the price limit we can. I just want to keep it at a place where everyone who wants to can afford to participate ^^
Game Rules:
Everyone will draw a number and we will pick gifts in sequence. Then, we sit down and the fun begins! We all take turns in the same number pattern. During the game you can steal as you wish, but only unwrapped gifts! If a gift is unwrapped it is no longer up for grabs. Likewise, if you unwrap your gift you can no longer steal anyone else's and the one you unwrapped is the gift you walk away with.
How do these rules sound? Do they seem fair? :)

(I grew up with the old ones so these creep me out) if anyone wants them I will give you them all just to get rid of them!

I'm going to try for it, but I'll need to be picking up extra shifts and I need to find a kitten sitter. One of my cats is a purebred Oriental Shorthair, they are extremely affectionate animals and they get depressed if they're left alone. They literally need attention, and Momo, if she gets stressed out, will get little blisters on her head. ;.; Which is why it's hard to also take her to the vet as well. :/ But, I do really want to go, and my roommate wants to do some traveling, we'd basically be heading up to Atlanta the day before, and then sleep, then go to the meet, and then stay another night and then wander our way back down to antique shops and such. We could likely manage it in two, but three days would be more fun. Hotels are so expensive these days, and I would have to work an entire day before being able to afford one night in anything decent. :/

Alrighty, lovelies! CapnChan had a really fun idea and I wanted to see who might be interested ^^ we were thinking about having a fun sleepover in my basement with sleeping bags and all after dinner! We could pop some popcorn and watch pony goodness and frolick around and do fun sleepover stuff! Haha xD CapnChan also has a super fun board game we could play too :) just let me know if you think you would wanna do that! I know everyone is going to be super tired.
Also, so far we have 15 tables reserved, which is a lot more than I ever expected so far in advance. Haha last year we almost ran out and had about 14 on the floor plus 4 for the prize tables and sign in table. So, I am estimating the tables at about 20 available(I keep forgetting to count the amount). So! With that said I need at least one for the raffle prizes! Which leaves us with only 4 left to reserve. If you think you could fit your stuff on less tables than you reserved that would be great! I would hate for us to run out of space :0 it's never been so close before! Haha this year is going to be bigger than our other years it seems :) so, with all of that said if you know you can go and need tables RSVP as soon as possible to make sure you get them! If I can find out for sure in the next few weeks, I doubt I would need a whole table(don't know the size). Not unless I find a huge lot in the meantime, which is unlikely. I'll probably have at most some sixty ponies, and even less if I can liquidate more in the next few weeks via trade and such. That said, I think I still have a small card table? It fits in my car easily enough, so if it would be alright, I could bring it?

I just don't want you to make all this stuff and then have everyone look at you like you're a goober when no one else brings anything to trade or sell." I got a little embarrassed at that point. Is it ok to sell stuff as well as trade? Like do folks bring money to meets? Gah I'm such a recluse I have no idea!
So I did want to point out that even though i'm selling pic-a-ponies, rainbow pony ATCs in origami boxes, and stuff like that (for less than a dollar remember!?), I'm totally open for if some one thinks any of it is good enough to trade rather than buy (it would be several art pieces, boxes, or pic-a-ponies for a real pony of course!)
and how does the raffle work? Do we choose what items we want to be entered into to try to win or do we automatically get entered into all of them? Do we pay for raffle tickets? gosh.
in other news, I made a custom for my white elephant trade and it is cuuute! Almost kept it myself! I'm excited for whoever gets it, its got some love and pride put into it.

Last year we put all raffle tickets into the same basket and drew from the basket for all items :) having one for each prize would be too much work haha xD and I have raffle tickets, each person gets 5 upon attending. As far as getting more I am still trying to decide how I want to go about doing that x3 but I was thinking I could offer more for money to go toward next years meet :) I have no idea yet though. x3
Everyone that has come both trades and sells for the most part ^^ I do A LOT of trading haha xD you will fit in just fine hun! My first year hosting this I was a fish out of water. Haha ^^ it's very easy to catch onto and you'll be just fine! <3

I intend to go this year, but I can't officially RSVP just yet. I'm so excited, though! August 10th is the day before my birthday! This will be the best way to celebrate it. :D
Also, thank you for having it in the summer rather than in fall. My schedule is just so super busy in fall, and that's why I was unable to make it last year. :(

alrighty well we had so bad news in my house,the center support beam (I don't actually know if thats the right part, my hubby showed it to me though and tried telling me what it was it just doesn't stick in my brain) broke on my truck and so I am without a vehicle at the moment. Its all stressful since I start my new job the 1st and the meet is the 10th. My hubby also was told he could NOT have the 10th off because the only other manager will be in training. ): So I ran the idea by two gals I know and the said they would be interested in going and giving me a ride. So my question is, is anyone upset if I bring 2 pony people that are not on the arena and MNN is that too such short notice for you?

21 days! So far, things are looking good. I haven't been able to pick up too many spare shifts, but I've been making really good money and getting extra hours on my shift because I've either been closer or put in sections that are last to close. Hopefully, that trend continues, and I should be golden for going. :) All I'm really worried about is the hotel, Atlanta area isn't a bad drive from here, a bit out of the way as I have to crawl up some backroads to get to the most direct highway to Atlanta. XD There's no direct way from Pensacola to Atlanta, which is really weird. There is from Mobile and Tallahassee, but the one is over another hour out of the way and the latter is three hours out of the way.
Thank goodness I've done this drive a bunch. :)

:3 Name tags?!? oooo! As far as nick names my Real name is Kitty *sigh yes like gun smoke* however I would prefer for my name tag to just say Fox, or Urocyon Fox. Either is ok with me. THe two gals I am bringing are pony people as well (although they are not as big into it as many of us are they also work with real horses in a rescue center thing they have!) and their names are Errin and Kayla. Not sure if they get name badges or not but they will be attending (and I'm trying to get them to agree to the sleep over)
As far as my raffles, the stars I will have a sheet where everyone can write their name and then their number of stars guess. Everyone can guess all three jars. Then I will have a set time where I will announce who has the closest guess is what order and let ya'll pick out your prize porcelain pony. The Dancing Butterfly picture I guess I'll just have tickets everyone writes their names on or something and i'll draw someone for that as well.
I will be participating in the white elephant gift swap and as I said my gift is a custom I made that I am super proud of. I have taken pictures of it however I will NOT post them until she has been won (and trust me I wanna post her to dA super bad!!)
I don't have many extra ponies to trade but I will bring what I have, along with those LPSs I would like to give away, and a whole tote of fakies to sell/trade/give if I need to. I will bring some chobits and other anime wall screens, I have some bait monster high dolls I thought about bringing if anyone has any interest in any of those as well. The clubhouse had been officially reserved for our meet, August 10th! Yay! ^^ I will start setting up around 9:30 and everyone is more than welcome to come as early as they to start setting up their booths :) I am thinking to have a more straight line set up this year: kind of like they do at the fair with rows. I think that will be easiest for the amount of tables we will be using and will be better for traffic flow :3

I don't want to be a negative nancy or anything, but there are several members, including myself, that are bringing alcohol, and there's planned pony cocktails and such, so I wouldn't want that to be a bad situation for you and your children, so I thought I would point that out. It's easy to miss, given we've got 13 pages of love here. ^^;; I'm a bit of a worrywart, and I just wouldn't want anything to happen, and I don't know your parenting stance with things on alcohol. I've worked in the service industry for FAR too long!

One of my best memories from the first fair was when we were shopping at Target and found pony stickers and you screamed PONY PONY PONY and we all chimed in :lmao: Glad your kids can make it as well. I think it's cool that Sean likes ponies- he will fit right in with us! :)

Addressing the alcohol: alcohol is completely fine but I was planning on it being very controlled and in small amounts during the meet :) it will be much more involved during the after party definitely, as Brightglow said. I'm going to be sending out quite a few ponies in the next week, so I hope I can snag a lot or two so I can have a bit to sell and trade, as I'd really like to trade for some really nice goodies. I hear someone is bringing dollyhair and I'd love to get my mitts on some of that as I'm going to be trying rehairing for the first time soon and I need hair!!!

Wooowee 23 people this year? That is so exciting! I originally expected for 16 people max however, so I sadly will have to only give the free gift bags and candy boxes to arena members (and kids) only. I feel so bad but I didn't anticipate this many people and I can't afford anymore goodies to give away :x don't worry I will have at least one item for your friends and family as a welcome gift!
I don't mind kids at all, I love seeing children enjoy ponies. I'll be bringing activity papers and MLP coloring pages for them. This year's fair really opened my eyes again in regard to kids and ponies. So many seemed to have such fun engaging with all the vendors and games. One little girl even memorized every single MLP song. Anywho it rekindled my faith in the little ones :P
As for the booze I assumed it would be after-meet only but I don't care at all if others drink during the meet.
NAME TAGS: I still need a few peoples preferred names. Now is the perfect time to let me know any suggestions for design or template. Maybe MNN or Kcherry want to draw something, or I can use a G1 again, or if anyone just has a photo they like feel free to share. My mom is coming with me this year instead of my BF, although she probably won't actually attend. She has offered to pay for the lanyards, so we'll have actual lanyards! It was a nice surprise :D
I am getting more and more excited! Oh and to remind I am bringing the cups! I also have straws, extra plates/napkins, and silverware if needed.

And here is some general info about how the meet shall go!
Before I forget I'm going to let you guys in on parking and such. The clubhouse has it's own parking lot, however every year so far they always have tennis matches and the people take up so much parking (Which is so rude because it costs money to rent that clubhouse!). So, a solution just in case that happens is that my mom and I are going to block off some parking spots which we open as people come so they can unpack their goodies then find another parking space a little farther down. This is just if there is a darned tennis match that day or something. lol
Also, Upon ending of RSVPs I will email everybody my house address. I literally live right across the street from the club house. You can't miss it! I will have a sign that has "Pony Meet!" written on it with balloons out front to help you spot it ^^ I will be in the clubhouse by 9:30 am to begin setting up so you are more than welcome to show up as early as you like to set up your booths and such :>
There is really no set time for the meet to begin, however I would like to start getting things going by at least 11 or so. This includes an ice breaker game(if people want to play) and getting everybody's' order for food! I'll also be taking an extra dollar or so to help pay for tip/delivery :> I will be going to Jimmy Johns and getting menus for everyone and I will inquire how much delivery is. Buying Jimmy Johns is not a requirement! No worries ^^ If you want lunch from Jimmy Johns I suggest being at the clubhouse by at least 11:30.
Now, for the rest of the meet. This meet is seriously loosey goosey and just really go with the flow. Haha People usually trade/buy/sell throughout the entire meet and this year raffles will be done by the individuals bringing the prizes, at their own booth, whenever they have time ^^ We can estimate playing the games and activities around 3ish or so. Sound good? ;D
I have the clubhouse reserved all the way until 10pm, however I was planning for things to wind down around 6:30-7 to give me enough time for cleanup. Be sure to be really careful not to spill or make any huge messes! Hehe If anything happens that might be permanent I have to pay for it :<
Cleanup takes a little while and then I have to drop the key back off. We can alot some time for people to freshen up if they like before we go to dinner. Where dinner will be, I have no idea! lol We have so many restaurants in the area. Chili's is always a good, universal choice that has gluten free options though
Now, for the sleep over! Woo! Haha ^^ If anyone has anything fun they want to bring for this please do! Especially if you have pony episodes on DvD ^^ Our basement is pretty big, complete with 2 couches and we also have a couple mattresses we can put down. If you prefer not to sleep on the floor down there we have a guest room, and anyone is more than welcome to sleep on the futon in my room or on my bed. I will be getting popcorn and perhaps cookies we can make :> I would really love a show of hands of who will be coming to the sleepover so I give my parents a heads up. Haha xD Thank you my dears! :heart:

Hate to say it guys but me and my mom can't find laynards anywhere, we didn't anticipate it being difficult or else we would have ordered online. I checked party city and they only had Dora the Explorer laynards, no blank ones, Micheals and Hobby Lobby had none, the lady at Micheals said the one near our main mall def has them but it's a bit of a drive and we already spent a tank looking around. Will still try tomorrow and on the way down there possibly. Anyone have any idea where I could find them?? I do have some pins for backup. =/

Due to my sales thread, a lot of my inventory has been sold but I'll still have plenty of G1's and G3's. About 50 G1's and 80 G3's but I have a huge possible order that will cut it down to 35. A couple G2's, they ARE ARGENTINEAN but there is no way to tell honestly, stamps are the same.

I will have two pony art prints, bought from previous fairs, (they are gorgeous!) and one large extremely high quality G1 print for $30 ideally, but considering trades. It is non-fade waterproof/scratch/spill resistant ink and coating. I absolutely LOVE it and it is of my favorite G1 art design but I have zero room for it. I would have to rescale and set up my entire study just to fit it in :(
I will have 4 raffles, 1 is exclusive for the young ones coming! Each pony card (raffle ticket) is $2.00.
Remember I am bringing my Adventures in Ponyland game! Not sure if we should play during the meet or slumber party, or both! It looks like so much fun. If we play during the meet, I'll give the winner a prize! As per the game rules :p

Ahhhh the search for lanyards! I did that last year before I knew we were doing buttons lol xD They have then at Office Depot I know for sure! Any place like that an Staples and such I'm sure has them :) they are usually just black ones :)

People are bringing so much cool stuff! I'm such a hoarder, I don't have much to trade or sell except my MLP Tales Animation Cels. I also have a ginormous G3 Pinkie Pie that I am willing to trade, and a weird Disney Princess Jasmine doll that I will trade or sell if anyone is interested.
I also have my own Lanyard that I will be wearing, but I don't have any suggestions for buying them in bulk. Sorry!

Okay, guys! I went and got menus today and here is the break down for food:
It's about $10 extra dollars for delivery from Jimmy Johns plus I need to give them tip. For about 20 sandwiches it was $110 and some change. So I will collect $6 for all $4.89 sandwiches and $7 for all 5.89 sandwiches to pay for delivery and go toward the tip. I hope this is okay with everyone! ^^

Oh also, I forgot to say -- I totally want your Tokidoki unicornos! I have almost all of wave 1, but I have NO wave 2 ones! The only wave 1 unicornos I'm missing are the two ridiculously rare ones -- Prima Donna and the black one whose name I don't remember.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it up this year. I've missed too much work as it is, and am down a whole week's pay. I am still not quite well, and I think it'll be at least more than a few days before I can drive long distance. I'm having delirium and depth perception issues because I have a double ear infection on top of it all, and it makes me very, very dizzy, so no go there. My roommate would drive, but her car needs to be replaced as it stands now, no more long distance trips for it. So, I will just have to wait here for some photos and live vicariously through you all. I hope everyone has a wonderful time, and maybe next year. :)

@MonstarNomNom: Did you know there's a Prima Donna plush? I might never get the actual Prima Donna but I will have that plushie one day. :D And I might have to swing by the Mall of GA. Unfortunately I live farther away now, so it's not as easy to do these days. It might be sort of on the way when I'm going to visit my mom, though... But yeah, I'm surprised I haven't seen much mention of Unicorno here in the arena. I would have thought that more pony collectors would have jumped into collecting Unicorno!

Wow, that's so cool! I've only found unicorno stuff at conventions and online before. I will definitely try to swing by if I can.

I finally sat down and took inventory on everything... I think I have more Pokémon stuff than pony stuff, d'oh! xD
I'll have a fair amount of handmade goodies in addition to G4 merch, four G3s, and some fun freebies. I am going to trrrryyyyyyy to crank out a handmade plush tomorrow, let's see how much work I can get done caring for our tiny terror of a kitten by myself. ;)
I wanted to ask a couple last minute questions: Should I bother bringing my Pokémon card collection to sell and trade? No pony cards, I'm afraid.
And for the Pokémon fans... are you interested in Gen 2 and above? I have a lot of Gen 4 and 5 stuff I've weeded from my personal collection, but if nobody's interested I'll leave it at home or just not put it on display on my table.
And finally, any interest in wearable pony tails made of shag faux fur? Making stuff like that is my job, so it wouldn't be any big thing to whip up a few tomorrow. I for sure have white, black, and sparkly pink shag fur.

I've made up four sets of ears- a Pinkie Pie, a Rarity, a Rainbow Dash, and a Twilight Sparkle :D I pretty much went by what minky colors I had in stock, but I realized I did the same character favoring the merch tends to do xD Poor AJ and Fluttershy, always left out. Ah well.
Yeah I saw the CoroCoro leaks this afternoon! I really dunno what to think about those mega forms, man. Hahaha. It's just hard to wrap my head around, and Flock of Seagulls Absol and bishonen hair Ampharos are pretty funny lookin'.

Um, woah, I haven't seen any of these, but the way you guys are describing them makes me want to look them up right now! If other people are bringing Pokemon cards, I guess I could bring mine as well. Mine are not well organized, though, and they're actually mixed up with my pony cards anyway. ;) And yes, I'm interested in newer pokemon generations, though so many of the newer Pokemon are sooooo dumb.

I actually have a large conglomeration of different trading cards in the notebook that I will be bringing to the meet -- ponies, pokemon, magic, and random anime and video game themed cards (I have a few Sailor Moon cards). Mostly I would only want to trade some of the pony and pokemon cards, but I'll have them all there if anyone wants to look. ;)

:D we had so much fun! Sorry everyone for flaking out, the drive was so long and we were running on NO sleep! We plan on coming up Friday morning next year and maybe setting up early and relaxing. Def got some ideas for next year!!
I feel bad cause I STILL don’t quite know who everyone is so I’m thinking next year we can all introduce ourselves and what not before we start buying/trading. (I would love to help out more next year too!!)
But yes, it was a ton of fun and I can’t wait to do it again. Gonna go ahead and start drawing a ton of art pieces now and just collect them in a big box till then. And ATCs!! I’m gonna start making them early now too. And customs and rehairs, and and and gah! So much, so exciting!
I'm convincing Errin and Kayla to join the arena and become members so they can register as their own people and not guests!!

I was thinking a mini meet maybe next spring around spring break time. Or I could potentially find a time this fall that would work well if you guys would prefer that! I will keep everyone updated and probably make a new thread for it in the future ^-^
For those who don't know about our mini meets, we have only had one so far but it was SO FUN! Basically we just got together and did lots of pony crafts from deflocking, to rehairing, to customizing, and even fun felt crafts :) And after we went out to eat and thrifting in local thrift stores! We could of course do different things, but basically mini meets are more for us pony people to just hang out and have fun and not have to worry about carting hundreds of ponies and other goods to the clubhouse! Haha xD I will be putting up a thread for it eventually! Teehee ;D
Again, thank you so much to everyone who attended this year! No words can even describe the fun ^.^

I'm still bummed I didn't end up making it. We were in town the weekend before for a wedding, and will be back Labor Day weekend... But I couldn't get the time off of work to stay in GA long enough for the meet.
Okay this is gonna be super creepy, but who's in the black shirt with Fluttershy (front second from left in group pic)... I'm pretty sure we had a class together at GGC?

sorry its not a better one. After I got home and laid everything on the table it all sat there for a while. My hubby caught me the other day just sitting there on our couch staring at everything. His comment was "your face says two things, wow look at all these ponies, and da** I don't to put all this away." Ha ha so true.
I also laughed because my hubby is NOT a pony person at all but he picked up my baby ember I got in the white pony exchange and says "who is this cute little thing? I don't like ponies, but look at this face! ____in' cute!" He then proceeded to try to replicate Ember's face. :3
Thanks again everyone, were working on fixing up our games (they were made at last minute, next year we will fancy them up!!)
