Title: What was good today? (The opposite of the WYP!)
Post by: Yuitsu on May 26, 2012, 02:58:12 PM: Today I ended up sitting on the seafront while waiting for the car to get washed, and there was a little terrier dog looking bored (he really did look so fed up) while his elderly owners and friends got ice cream. After a bit he toddled over and I gave him the customary scritches in the best spots.

He thought twice about going after his owner. He did go, after a lick of my hand, a stop off to sniff some small children and a detour to some grass that needed rolling around in.

My day was really good! I got some birthday gifts which are awesome!
And I faced my fear for big groups with people I don't know. I went to a birthday of soneone on this forum and it was great. Normally I wouldn't go cause I am to scared, but i did do it and had a great time ^.^

I got my boy pony grail today!
I also realized that I am finally over my ex and can move on socially, and that life will be a lot more fun without having to worry about upsetting him or making him jealous because I'm spending time with other people!
I went to a dance Thursday and it was a lot of fun! I got to swing dance a bunch. c:
I get to hang out with my best guy friend today and listen to live reggae music! and tomorrow I am going to Boatnik (a local memorial day fair type thing) with some very good friends that I haven't seen in almost a year.
This weekend is going to be, and has been, awesome. c:

Today I made some homemade dog treats for the first time ever and the dogs LOVED them! Plus, they're healthy and safe for my little pup with food allergies. And my husband decided that he would be willing to trade in his totally impractical (but expensive) car for something safer and with a lower monthly payment. WOO!

The sun was beating down for hours, and we had a blast swimming the dogs in the sea, and we got to wear bikinis all day! In Northern Ireland! The sea was baltic at first, but it soon warmed up ;) Had a load of gorgeous ice cream too, and the dogs were so well behaved!

But I slept pretty good last night, I think that knock-out allergy med really helped (since the last few nights it's been my allergies waking me up, but I only took my daytime stuff, not the ones I know knock me out).

Yesterday we had a nice relaxing day for hubby's birthday. :) Browsing around, a movie, dinner out.

That is no easy feat! Yey leveling up in household skills! :D Now the real trick is remembering how you did it for the next time.
This weekend I spent time with my grandparents and miraculously enough all 3 of my siblings at the same time. It was the first time I'd seen my older brother since he left for Iraq last may and the first time I'd seen my grandparents in 7 months. She sent me home with more squash than I can possibly know what to do with it. :) Guess I'll be donating to the neighbors.
Also there was this, adorable animal pictures and vids are almost always the highlight of my day.

The guy is someone I've known for most of my life, we went to elementary school together and lived only a block apart. He was actually my first boyfriend almost a decade ago. His fiancee I haven't known as long, but we get along well and it's nice to have another couple that we like and can hang out with (and for once, they're MY friends first and not just me tagging along with my husband's buddies and their girls). Plus, it's always great to meet up with the guy since we were super close as kids and have all sorts of hilarious stories.

Oh and my aunt saw a "Samantha-dactyl" little moneybox, with a pterodactyl on the top in a charity shop (she browses them like mad) and got it for me :D

And that car is his BABY) and we found one exactly like one we'd liked yesterday. Only about $12,000 cheaper and lightly used. We're just waiting to hear if the finance woman could work magic, since we're looking to LOWER his car payments and save money. *crosses fingers*

And I had a delicious burger at this cool old place that's right in the middle of a fancy and modern shopping area. It looks so out of place, but still makes the best burger in town without all the fancy stuff that the neighboring restaurants have.

Oooh I love a good burger. :D Best one I ever had was at this slightly off the road rest stop that my dad stopped off at when we were headed to Marwell Zoo for my 16th birthday. My parents had found the place when they used to have to drive up to check on my grandmother. There is also a 50's themed American style diner near me that before they went under new management used to have some awesome burgers.

Today...
Uh, I managed to transfer most of my drawing references off my laptop onto my IPod, so I can access them quickly without using WiFi and hopefully it will drain the battery less. I have really long lunchbreaks at college and most of the time end up drawing and usually having the internet up really drains my battery.

It brought back a ton of fun memories, and it even had the sand-area I used to play in when I was 4-5 (it's one of those things you run down a path and jump into the sand to see how far you can jump). And I made a new friend/workout buddy! Hooray for motivational pals! We're going to run the track 5 times a week.

Anyhow, today I was having a rough day, but then my mother came home from going out with my father and brought me a brand new (Well, new to me, we're thrift-store girls) dress~ It is perfect and I couldn't be happier~ <3

Boyfriend and I managed to make our groceryshopping without quarrel and it costed kind of nothing considering how much stuff we had in the cart. I'm not kidding, I thought we would go way over budget and we didn't even cross half of it.
Now I sit in the sofa with a cup of tea, laptop way down on my knees, while youngest kitten sleep on my tummy, purring high enough so I can't hear the music and wait til we'll get out to eat an early dinner before I start working. Also, I managed to write this entry with only one hand. Yaaay, lol!

I couldn't believe it. They also got me a slightly more plane-friendly Rarity to take home. I'm gonna miss this place so much.

I don't have to meet a friend today, or tomorrow as planned so I can spend the entire afternoon today and all day tomorrow with Diablo 3 which we bought yesterday! Also, I found my long lost recipie on pizza-muffins so I'm gonna surprise boyfriend with a different kind of dinner ^_____^.

I sort of found out the guy I have loved since I was 14 might like me still, he only used to whistle when he was truly happy when I sat next to him, and today, for the first time in 4 years that I've been able to be with him for long amounts of time, he whistled a tune again :) He's leaving though so I don't know if I will see him.
Why is life never simple?

At least I feel extremely happy today.

This is totally unheard of in Northern Ireland :drunk: In fairness, the wind was ripping in, and it took forever for me to warm up after, but the dogs froliced along the shore together, so SIL-to-be and I got to go out deep to swim! The sea was BALTIC at first, but once you got nicely numb it was lovely!

2nd, Got a lush Big Breakfast at my favourite cafe with my mum :)
3rd, Went shopping, got a pair of mini heels I have wanted for 2 months, got some Jubilee nail polish colours (red, White & Blue).
4th, Fell asleep in the car on the way home!
5th, Chatted to some pony pals on the arena :)
6th, Got steak for dinner :D

So, yeah, pretty good day actually ;D

I got to play my bass today! I usually have NO freetime to just sit around a jam, but today I did!

I got to ride one of my trainer's reining horses today, and it was a blast (even though she was like twice as big as my horse o3o)

Needless to say we split up over a year ago, and I was saying to my current OH how much they meant to me (they came out of my pub and were only one of two items I kept)

Yesterday my OHs friend came over and was looking at my skulls. He was trying to get me to give him one of my badger skulls, and then said that he had the perfect thing to swap.

Friend: I have the perfect thing to swap...I have this pair of horns, bull horns...
Me: Um, bull horns?
*both look at each other*
Me: Did you get them from ****?
Friend: OMG they're yours, aren't they? You can have them back
Me: *hands over nicest badger skull* Thankyou *sniffly tearful greatful*

I've been weaning myself off my crutches since Friday and it felt so good to go outside and get some fresh air. Plus the dogs were pleased as punch. It wasn't a long walk, but it was still nice.

Yesterday was my tattoo consultation. Hubbs picked me up after work and asked what street the shop was on. When I told him he went nuts! "The military tells us we only have to avoid ONE STREET and your tattoo shop is on it?! Great! We're going to get stabbed! If we walk in there and my wheels are gone when we come back out, you're picking a different shop." I was cracking up the whole way there and we had a great time on our little adventure.

When we got to the tattoo shop, I met my artist and he is AWESOME. He's confident and he's interested in keeping me satisfied. He's also really excited about doing my piece (or he's good at pretending to be excited, either way is okay with me). I have been very afraid of getting this tattoo done and ending up with someone who says they can, even though they can't. I've seen this guy's portfolio and I now that I've met him in person I feel really great about my decision.

We ended the day with pizza and breadsticks and some Game of Thrones. It was awesome. Great day.

The Mountain makes /the/ best tshirts. Always glad to have another one by them and one that has both beautiful animal art on it and is patriotic because my last U.S. shirt got so threadbare and had so many holes in it that I had to finally throw it out recently. Had it since I was 15 though so it had a good run.

Wow... when my school had fire drill/bomb threats we had to sit on the football field and there were always dragon flies landing on me, everyone else freaked out but the colorings sound like it would be a neat custom flutter pony...

This green card is my second one.

I found 2 jobs I could possibly do (haven't found any in days) and sent in my CVs to apply for them.
I could also get my Nintendo 64 to work (bought it for quite a steal price but "not tried out, as is, no reserve", so I'm quite relieved), and was happy to realise even the joystick works ^^ now the only thing I have left to figure out is how the heck do I get the sound on (I may have plugged something to the wrong place, I'm not too good with TVs, and I myself don't even own one - this whole thing happened at my father's house - so I was already proud I could go this far XD if I manage to work it out completely I might get a small and cheap TV to be able to bring the console home and play with it here).

It was the boss's birthday, so we had some fun there too.

And my 2 blind bag ponies I bought off ebay have arrived, just have to pick them up at the PO tomorrow (only wanted 2 specific characters, so this was easier)

Oh, and yesterday hubby and I bought a tickets package to see Cavalia's Odysseo show in a couple weeks - complete VIP package, so we get to go to the stables after the show and meet the horses!!! *squee* Early anniversary gift to us, plus we wanted to see this show.

yes, here too... just yesterday we had a talk with my boyfriend about how we do things this summer we've never done before... like sleeping with the windows open (I used to do this all the time before living with him, but since we moved together we've never done it, because he insisted he'll catch a cold like that), sleeping without a blanket on, or having to change sleepwear during the night because we swet like a rainy cloud. and that's just the night, when it's a little cooler... >_<
last weekend we did have some storms, but they all gathered in the night and didn't last longer than an hour, the puddles even dried up before you could notice them, so they couldn't really affect the weather. today I also woke up to a little rain, and I was so happy! the air feels a little cooler too ^^ however, it has stopped about 1,5 hours ago, and as it's only 10 AM now I suppose by early afternoon everything will be hot as hell again :(

but to stay on topic: I got to stalk a crow for awhile just now as it was searching for food on the roof of the opposite house, quite close to us. and it has been "chatting" all along, it was really cute! <3 I love animals, and I love to have them around, but living in the main city in flats has a huge disadvantage for me, that is I'm actually happy if I spot a spider on the wall... not so many animals live here (which is quite understandable), there are no trees or green areas for them to enjoy, so when I'm home I don't see much of them (ehm, besides city pidgeons, but they are one of the few I'm not too happy about :P ). it's quite a rare occasion to see one here this close, and for such a long time (it was here for almost half an hour). this summer we started to have swallows in the city - I don't know where they live, but they are flying around in the sky all day, and at dawn they come a bit down, still up high, but you can hear them already, which I enjoy very much, but still it's something far away, so this little chatty crow coming this close made me really happy right now ^^

I also got almost all the rest of my Pokémon collection set up. ^.^ And some Paypal cash went back into my bank account, 3 days early.

One guy I've known since 3rd grade, the other grew up a block from me (and was my first boyfriend), and his wife, who I am just getting to know. We had grilled homemade pizza, sampled their infused vodka (most wasn't ready yet lol), and told lots of old and hilarious stories. It was wonderful :)

I bought it because I'm a Batman fan and it had the suit Batman had in Batman: The Animated Series (and I adore that Batman TV series over any other) with the same bat design against a yellow oval on the chest. The other Pop Batmans it was shelved with had a different bat design and no yellow oval backing the bat. I thought I had one of two versions and both versions were packaged in the same kind of box without special labeling for the alternate version. I looked up my yellow symbol Pop Batman on Google after I came home and found out I have a factory error Pop Batman and Funko corrected the error at the factory so the Pop Batmans would have the other bat design with no yellow oval. I bought a lot cooler Batman figurine than I thought! :D
