Location is going to depend on who can host. I hosted 2 years ago and would be up for doing it again.
Also we should pick a time frame. Summer months on a Saturday seem to work the best so lets look at some dates there.

HavAcrumpet and I have thrown the idea around to host... My house really isn't big enough, but she's got a nice size open apartment... (We also hope to include upper peninsula members if we are able to host.)

Kaukauna, just a jump away from Green Bay. Still thinking on it. The more I think the smaller my apartment becomes. I do have a patio and a very large yard though so long as its a nice day. I'm not very child friendly though, unless they want to play outside.

I could see if my grandma's house is available, though I'm just a bit south of Madison/not in the Northeast. Her house would be big enough and I could ask her if people could probably crash there overnight if they had to. :awake:

I am bound and determined that this is going to be the year I finally make it to a pony meet! I have always wanted to go but usually I couldn't because of my cars unreliability. However I just got a new to me, much more reliable, fuel efficient vehicle. :) So hopefully this will be the year I get to go. Although looking at gas prices, I hope the meet wouldn't be to far away. (I'm all the way down by Janesville) Unless anyone would want to ride with and split the cost of gas? My new to me minivan seats 6. :)

I'm in Madison. I'd love to meet, but as I don't have a car, I wouldn't be able to meet anywhere outside Madison. :( I wouldn't ask anyone to go out of their way to give me a ride; I'd accept the offer only if it's convenient and then it'd depend on when. I can't afford to take any more time off work than I've got planned due to my wedding being this year (yay!).
Uh... this is going to sound odd, but... what do we do at pony meets? Just hang out and chat?

YES YES YES. I would love to make a trip to NE Wisconsin. Living in the UP, I'm a bit far from the rest of the Michigan folk.

I'm outside of Janesville! I know we've somewhat chatted about it before. I plan to go and once we have a date set I'll have it set aside. I have a focus which is rather gas efficient and can seat 4 people max but depends on how many ponies people want to bring etc. Pony meet is becoming my summer day trip as I usually don't have the money or time to go on a multi day road trip.
I'm also in Madison a lot too, and mid summer is around the time I have a specific doc check up so really it depends on what I'm doing closer to the date and where the meet ends up being I may be able to give a ride to Janesville or Madison folk. :D

I might be interested in going depending on where it's held in WI and if I might be able to meet up with Emery again like we did last year to share a ride (Emery's in Iowa, I'm in Illinois). :)

Kaukana would work for me...I have family in Appleton so it would give me an excuse to visit. I live in Menomonee Falls (15 minutes north of Milwaukee) so ponies in my area who would need a ride can join me.
Though if space is your concern you might want to try and get about 12 people or so to come over and see how they fit, but you'll also need to factor in the room for folding tables and displays. Also note that when it's summer and a pile of people in your home it's going to get HOT! But if the day is going to be nice I don't see why we can't play games outside and do the pony selling/trading and so on inside your place.
That being said at worse case we could discuss having two meets...one for the northern ponies and one for the southern ponies, which might reduce crowding especially if we do it on the same day and chit chat in the arena as a "live feed" of the party ^_^

That's a neat idea! 'live feed' would be fun especially since our state is big enough that sometimes its a long drive to get everyone together. I'm up for either or, like I mentioned this is my one bigger weekend event I attend in the summer so I usually plan out having to drive.

Me and my roommate are interested, we have a busy schedule, so we might not be able to make it, but we live in Wausau and my truck seats 5 (we can seat 6 in her car, but it's broken right now) if anybody needs a ride. There's a possibility she'll take her son with, so we might have one less seat. Location wont matter since we're pretty central, but we have lots of other plans for spring/summer, so finding a date that works for us will be difficult.

I don't know I almost think southern and maybe a smaller northern WI pony meets may work this year! (If we want to live stream then it may have to be held at my house as I have the net... this will take convincing of my hubby.)

The sperate board we used the previous boards is form ladyarcher...I'm not sure if it's available to use again. Otherwise discussing it here isn't bad as it lets others see what we are up to and if they want to join in all the fun.
I'm really thinking the north and south meets and streaming (or just live forum posting) would be ideal.
Let's say we go that route...who wants to host the south? I live in Menomonee Falls (15 min north of Milwaukee) and have a nice house for doing the hosting and provide crash space.

June 23 and 30 work for me, or any time in july. I can host, I've got the room, but I'm in Abrams and that is another hour north of Kaukauna. I'm so happy to see that we have a yooper pony amongst us! :D

I am busy the weekend of June 16-17. I'm up for driving but Green Bay area is about my limit for making it a single day trip. I would be kinda sad to see the meet broken into 2 as I love seeing the same people each year but for driving purposes that may be better.

I got the ok from my grandma to host a meet at her house if need be (she lives in Oregon, WI, so it'd be a Southern meet) :) I work every other weekend though so I would have to double check what dates would be best for me.

Seems pretty quiet over there and here too...
I'm thinking people are excited about it but may not have all the time they wished they had for it...I know my time is pretty limited and I may be in danger of not being able to go.

The max capacity we're thinking her apartment can hold is 15 people.
My biggest problem is fanagling the Jeep from my husband; I'd have to know the concrete date/time if we'd be travelling to a Southern meet. (My car would die after a 3 hour drive, HavAcrumpet452's car would die in an hour.)

I am in Southern Wisconsin, the house I'm renting in in Whitewater the rules are in place due to it being a college town. Our landlord loves us if I can get the ok from all my roommates I may be able to get permission from our landlord? I'm not really in the mid state place everyone was looking for. Though with tables it would be cramped... our biggest space is the basement and that is rather musty :/

Oh my place will be cramped but if the weather is ok I have a huge yard so people don't always have to be inside if it gets too crowded. I'm in WI. Does everybody bring a card table or something? I don't have tables enough for a dozen people to set up stuff.

Good News, talked to my parents today, they said I could host in their hobby shed. Which is air conditioned, and there is enough space if I rearrange some furniture. That is if we still want to do this, we could pick a date mid to late August. I'm not ideally in the middle of the state being in South Central Rock County just outside of Janesville. If it cools off enough we have tons of space, we are a farm with a grass airstrip if you'd like to check us out just google WI84 is the airport number. Though HavACrumpet you have first dibs on hosting! I really want this to happen this year!

Well if everybody would get active about this whole thing we maybe could do it the next weekend. I just can't do it the 25th. My godson has a birthday that weekend and my next cousin to be born is going to happen sometime in August too. Heck, I wouldn't complain about September but nobody was planning anything.

Everyone is going to GenCon! but me :p All my roommates are going but I just cannot afford it, plus I get nervous in huge crowds.
I'm free most weekends up til harvest time on the farm otherwise my schedule is uber flexible this year.

Well, if it matters, we can also do the 18th. I also just realized that it's over 5 hours away, so I have to chat with Mom and see if she's ready for that kind of an adventure. It might mean a night at a campground or leaving really early in the morning, but she'll do all sorts of crazy things for cheese!

The nice thing is that the meet location is not far from High Cliff State Park. It's maybe 15-20 mins...

Yes, so far we have it slated for the 11th.
(The 18th may work better for a few more pony peeps, we just need input of everyone's availability to get it really narrowed down.)

The 18th works better for me - If I come the 11th I would have to bring my 4 year old with me. (I'd just prefer not to, but please don't change any of your plans) -- I'm just don't know how he would fair in a 5 hour drive ? -- but then again the 3 hour drive we took to WI dells he did just fine - so he'd probably be just fine.

My house really isn't child friendly or child proof. I have a floor to ceiling shelf of Breyers I'd prefer not to be broken nor do I plan to pack them away since its hard not to chip them. He'd have to be the best behaved child in the world or I'd have to figure out some way to cover the front of the shelf. I also have no toys for children to play with. Nothing but a big backyard so bring him something to keep him busy.
