Hi, I'm Iris Patch! ^_^
As you may have guessed by my avatar, I'm yet another newbie who was drawn into the fandom by
Friendship is Magic. I had some pony toys when I was little (I remember specifically a big talking purple one with a phone cutey mark and a magician with a hat and rabbit actually sculpted onto her flank, it was weird), but I was never really "into" it that much, I was more interested in Beast Wars Transformers, and later, Pokémon. I actually am very active in the Pokémon collecting community, that will always be my first love. <3
Anyways, I didn't think FiM looked very good, but people kept raving about it, so I finally gave it a shot, now I love it! I am about to finish season one on Netflix, my favorites so far are Fluttershy, Rarity, Zecora, and Nightmare Moon, even though she was only in one episode... she is just too cool though.
I told myself I wasn't going to buy any of the toys, just enjoy the show. You can see how well that went! Six months ago, I would never have imagined I would be joining this site.
I don't have a particularly large collection and I don't intend on it becoming a big thing, but there are some things on my wishlist I'd like to add to this small collection I have, and I love seeing all the gorgeous customs people make. I'm not particularly knowledgeable yet, so I will likely stay out of the collector talk until I know a thing or two.
I am joining to make new friends (maybe even in my area so we can hang out?), learn about pony haircare (seems like a little thing, but I dunno how to make mine's look good!), the ins and outs of customization, and hopefully use this as a place to advertise my own custom wares- I am a plush-maker and general artist, working on revising my filly pattern at the moment with a test plush.
Now a little about my ponysona, the lavender filly in my icon.
Her name is Iris Patch naturally, and she lives in Ponyville sewing plush toys with her pet opossum, Stitches. In my imagination, she lives a life parallel to mine, so her husband lives with her and helps out from time to time. He is slightly obsessed with fire and sharp objects, but it's nothing to worry about, I think.
The plushies Iris sews can be alive if she wants them to be, thanks to her unicorn magic. They make adorable little house helpers, but the price for a plush like this is very high.
Iris always has a habit of overbooking herself, and often has to stress to get the job done because she procrastinates. However, everything she makes is made with tender loving care.
Hm? Did I put you to sleep telling you my character's backstory? Sorry!
Anyways, that is me in a nutshell.
