Happy to finally join the arena!

Hello, everyone!  I'm Jenny, or TwilightTrixie.  I've been lurking on the Arena for a while and decided it was finally time to join.

My boyfriend and I are avid fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and after we got into the show, we started collecting ponies!  Our herd is at a bit over 200 now.  It is tracked here if anyone is curious (but please note that I am not prepared to trade at present): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsL6V-L9Sw5WdDlpRDl0d3drRHhWaFpLUk5SeEZjSEE

I'm really enjoying collecting G4, as it's scratching my collecting itch, and it's a nice hobby to have with my boyfriend.  As a child I was a big collector of Beanie Babies and Barbie (I still have huge amounts of each), and it's nice to collect ponies now.  I would really like to get into collecting earlier pony generations too, as I find them beautiful.  I love browsing others' collections here on the Arena.  I hope to be able to take and share pictures of my collection soon, which I may do after some restyles.  I would also like to get into making customs.

Oh, I'm moving to Japan soon (in December, to teach English) for a year.  I'm not up on my Pony history (but I'm learning!), but were any older pony generation toys produced or sold in Japan?  Would be nice to be on the lookout for things.

So you're going to Japan? I'm so jealous! I was trying to learn Japanese, but got lazy on it

I heard older generations of MLP were sold in Japan...I'm not sure about the new generation.

Welcome! it's so cool that you are interested in learning about older generations as well. you will find tons to learn and talk about here on the arena whether it's about Fim or older ponies. Has your boyfriend joined the arena too? living in Japan sounds interesting, report back to us about your pony findings when you get there!

It's great your boyfriend shares your hobby.  I have a friend who left to teach English in Japan.  She loved it so much that she ended up staying there for 8 years!  I hope you have as much fun as she did

Thank you everyone for all the welcomes!  MaronaPossessed, you should get back to trying to learn Japanese; it's a great language!  My boyfriend saw your name and avatar and says I should play Phantom Brave.  I've only played Disgaea 1 and 2 myself, but he is a huge Nippon Ichi fan and collects the games.   

Corra, I will certainly report on any pony findings I have in Japan!  I am excited at the prospect!  My boyfriend has not joined the arena, but I think I'll do enough posting for us both.

Kiwimlp, that's awesome that you have an English teacher friend in Japan!  I have some friends there teaching English and they love it.  I'm not sure how long I'll stay though, as my boyfriend can't move there with me (he has to stay home with the five cats), though he will visit.

I am looking forward to my time here!
