Trader & Shipping Support / Question from a first time Paypal seller
« on: June 10, 2016, 03:38:56 PM »
I am having quite a frustrating experience..

So I sold my first stuff ever the other day through Paypal. Everything went well, transaction, communication, shipping, etc.

I logged onto Paypal to claim my money, and of course there's some sort of catch. I have to wait 21 days before the money is released to me. I understand this is a precaution so that the transaction goes smoothly.

However, it gives you the option to get it within a 7-14 day period if you have shipping info. Unfortunately the package went overseas and the woman working the USPS counter had nothing to give me as far as tracking info, and only gave me the customs info, so now I can't speed up waiting time  :wacko:
I tried messaging Paypal, but I got a page saying my messaging is disabled (conveniently)

I guess my question is will I get the money in 21 days? Has anyone here ever had to wait? I am afraid it'll be $40 down the toilet because Paypal will try to pull some crap once the days are up and withhold payment.

Please let me know, and thanks in advance!

Hi there!
I have quite a few G4s and G3s I am planning on selling, and I have no clue as to price value. Can someone kindly let me know what they might be? The ponies available are below:

G4:
Applebloom, Cheerilee, and Sweetie Belle all have hair cuts, I tried to make them show accurate when I bought them years ago  :rolleyes:
Daisy Dreams comes complete with her bug friend
Trixie has all her accessories
Honeybuzz has all her accessories
Cherry Pie has all accs. with the exception of 1 sticker missing from her sheet
Lyra has all acc.
Plumsweet has all acc.
Blossomforth is alone
Snowcatcher has all acces.
Applebloom and Sweetie have all accessories from their "Fun at the Fair" set
Cheerilee is alone
Luna has her crown (2011 princess set)

G3:

Everyone is as is, no hair cuts on anyone
Cotton Candy has a broken ear, so I probably will not sell her
RD has wacky frizz hair that she's had since I took her out of her packaging, I tried to fix it as best I could but it's still frizz-city..

Customs / Dainty Dahlia's Hair Doesn't Re-pink..
« on: May 30, 2016, 02:39:09 PM »
So I tried re-pinking Dainty Dahlia, and after a lovely 2 HOURS I got nothing! It is so infuriating. :pout:

Her hair does not re-pink, but what's worse is that forelock does, which is now a lovely shade of contrasting deep magenta. Does anyone know how to remove RIT dye from hair?

I know bleach does not work, so does anyone have another method? I have given up on pinking the hair, but the forelock has to be changed.

Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

I could really use some advice!

I am planning on selling all of my G3 and G4 ponies on the arena (because forget Ebay) but the issue is that I have no idea how to even begin..

I have made purchases on Paypal, and I plan on using Paypal for all of my transactions.

I am wondering if someone can kind of walk me through what I would need to do if someone sent me money for a pony. As in, how do I receive the money, and where on Paypal I need to go to arrange a transaction.

Please let me know! I have all sorts of goodies like Plumsweet and Blossmforth to part with..

Customs / RIT Dye Insanity
« on: April 30, 2016, 03:39:18 PM »

Thank you everyone for the advice!!

Hi all,

So I finally got my bait, got my dye, and got excited to make my first custom.
After pouring in the dye (with water) and putting my bait G1 Moondancer in nothing happened

I tried boiling the water next. Again, nothing.

I used liquid RIT and I am starting to think its the problem.

Does liquid not work on dyeing bodies?
Someone please let me know!

Pony Corral / Recommended Episodes for a first time G1 Viewer?
« on: April 26, 2016, 11:31:52 AM »
Okay, I caved XD

I've loved MLP since I was a kid, when G2 was a thing. However, G2 never had its own show, and so my first MLP television show was actually G4, which I enjoy watching.

However, I find it to be of great insult to not give the original MLP G1 80s cartoon a chance. I have watched the MLP Movie, with the Smooze, but that's about it!

Can anyone recommend particularly good episodes for a newbie viewer like myself? I'd like to watch more, plus I am trying to learn how to draw a distinct pony style, and I feel like watching more animation might help.

Thanks in advance!

Pony Brag Arena / Guess who I snagged for $40 yesterday..
« on: April 09, 2016, 09:01:34 AM »

I feel like odd for posting a "brag", but I was so excited about this one I had to share.

Ta Da! I actually won an auction for once in my life! She shipped as of this morning!
This is honestly one of those few times Ebay is awesome

As thrilled as I am to now own two of my favorite "rarer" ponies, I paid significantly less for Red Roses than I did for Mimic. I got this little gem for $40. I recall recently asking on the forum how much she typically goes for, and most members said between $80-$110, so I am absolutely THRILLED to have one at the price I paid. I am more proud of the fact I actually won an auction for once, considering I usually always miss out..

I officially need a break from pony purchases, but it's great to end on a good note!

Does anyone have tips for adding more "oomph" to her hair?

Wanted! / Seeking 1 Really Bad Bait
« on: April 04, 2016, 08:08:56 AM »
Hi everyone!

So after spending 30+ minutes searching on Ebay for 1 truly baity-bait and finding nothing but overpriced crap, I decided to look here for a bait~

I need 1 bait for a custom I am making, and when I say bait, I mean it. I need a pony with little to no symbols, no hair, basically faded to death

In other words, a pony that can only be saved through customization or restoration!

If you have a pony fitting the criteria, please PM me. I am looking for baits in any position besides the Collector's Pose (aka Peachy, Cotton Candy, etc)

The custom is for my boyfriend, and while I would be absolutely amazed to find a bait Big Brother, I can't count on it, so he's getting a girl ^^

Please let me know if you have a bait for sale!

Pony Corral / Cute or Silly Idea?
« on: April 01, 2016, 11:32:34 AM »
So I have started to consider making a custom, and while I know this is not the customs forum, this is the forum for anything pony related, and I am looking for expert opinions on if this idea is a good one, or if it is lame~

Anyways,

My boyfriend and I have been dating (nearly)3 years. He's been my best friend for 4, and he helped me out of a very dark time back when we had been just friends. He means the world to me, and so I want to do something cool and crafty as a thank you for all the fun times we have had together. Because of this, I have decided I want to make something blending things we both like, and so I have decided to make him a custom MLP as a part of his anniversary gift (Red Sox tickets being the other half)

He has never been big on ponies, and when he first found out I liked them I thought his eyes would roll out of his head and into oblivion. However, he is a MAJOR sports nut, loving baseball, football, you name it. But there is nothing on this Earth he covets more than the New England Patriots. Specifically their quarterback, Tom Brady.
As of late he has become a lot more accepting of my love of ponies, as I have shown interest in the Pats (even though I never know what's going on). As a result he has done the same for my love of MLP! He's even learned some names of the characters!

He bought me a SS Buttons recently, and its the first time he has ever bought me a pony. I was genuinely shocked. A year ago I can actually recall him saying the two things he'd never buy me would be coffee (too late I'm already addicted) and any pony. As of this week, both vows have been broken ~

 Our dati-versary is April 4th, and so I have decided to make a "Pats" pony out of a Big Brother bait (should I find one). I've never done a custom before, although I have rehaired several MLPS, as well as cleaned many up from terrible condition. I think the biggest thing would be the symbols, as the Flying Elvis might be hard to paint...

What do you guys think? Cute idea? Weird idea? Other ideas? I need opinions!

My original plan was to buy a MOC (or close to it) BB Quarterback and sew it a little Pats jersey, but this seems more fun!

I think he will love it even if it's a pony, I've painted and drawn for him before and he loves everything I make so this will be the one pony he will ever truly label as his own ^^

Price Check Archives / PC on Perfume Puffs?
« on: March 04, 2016, 08:25:06 AM »
Forgive a newer collector, but when I first saw these ponies I though something went horribly wrong with their hair.

And then I realized they were meant to be that way ^^

So out of curiosity, how much do the PPs go for? I would love to own them eventually, but I know they can fetch a pretty penny.

Pony Corral / Can Dust Harm A Pony?
« on: March 03, 2016, 07:53:05 PM »
Hi everyone~

So this may be a ridiculous question, but my ponies are out on display in my college room, and I have to wonder..

Can dust damage them?

I know ponies can get pindot and all sorts of junk from being truly dirty, and while I clean my room regularly I tend to not handle my ponies too too often, to protect styled hair and prevent getting fingerprints and oils on them. If they were left in the open for an extremely long period of time and really gathered dust, could they get pindot?

This just crossed my mind, and I know its unlikely, but sometimes I wonder just how sensitive that 80's vinyl really is..

I guess my question is, how do you guys keep your ponies dust free?

Pony Corral / Re-Pinked Yum-Yum and Love Melody! Thoughts?
« on: February 24, 2016, 07:44:14 PM »
Hello~

Thanks to everyone who gave me great tips on how to re-pink my lovely ladies!

I did a little bit of touch up work after taking these pics, as I noticed one part of Yum-Yum's tail, forelock, and Love Melody's forelock were a little lighter than desired

Yum-Yum's tail looks darker than everything else, but it is due to the gross lighting in the room I am in, not over-dyeing!!

Let me know in the comments what you think! I think the color came out really close to the original.

Pony Corral / Oxiclean safe on all Ponies? + A question on Pindot
« on: January 22, 2016, 03:50:24 PM »
Hi everyone,
I recently acquired a G1 Glory with all sorts of lovely pindot rashes and spots on her legs and partly on her body. I was aware of the pindot when I purchased her, so it wasn't a surprise to me that it was present, but it made me so uncomfortable to see when she arrived. Initially I ignored it and left her with my main collection, having read pindot doesn't typically spread in all environments and is actually a form of ingrained dirt. However, I started to worry and became convinced the stupid stuff would spread, and I decided I needed to find out more.

So I did what any normal person would do and go onto the internet......

.............. and what a mistake that was  :drunk:

50% of what I read said pindot is contagious no matter what and its only a matter of time until my ponies meet their moldy demise
50% also said pindot is fine and won't spread, and that it is actually a form of ingrained dirt that is generally harmless to ponies

So my first question is: Is Pindot the terrible spreadable plague that half the internet makes it out to be? Or is it a benign misunderstood dirt clot that chooses to cling to plastic in the desperate attempt to be part of a My Little Pony?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can't tell if this stuff is a genuine threat or not, and so I ended up oxycleaning the lower half of Glory (where the pindot was strongest) as well as two other random spots on her, to kill it. To my relief the stuff came off relatively easily, and the areas with more noticeable pindot have a significant decrease in boldness.
My question here is, is Oxyclean safe for all ponies (colors; I don't want to bleach anyone), will it bleach hair, and will it take off paint? I want to use it on a TAF Sugarberry with some very dark spots, but I fear for her strawberries. I also fear Glory is going to mutate to some weird distorted color because of the OC. I really hope she doesn't, as she is my favorite unicorn!
Someone please let me know, and educate me on this topic..
