How in the world does the new eBay listing fees work?!
« on: May 19, 2015, 02:38:31 PM »
I'm super confused...I listed a bunch of video games the other day.  I qualified for 20 free listings and then was charged $.30 per listing.

So, I just listed a Fashion Star Filly, and all of the sudden, it's back to being free...???  Whaaa...?  I don't get it.  Can someone break it down for me?  I've got other items to list but have been holding off as I don't want to get charged multiple times.  Now I am thoroughly confused. :what:

The reason is probably due to eBay's spring seller update. It states:
"Sellers without a subscription will receive 20 free listings* per month, which can be used to create auction-style or fixed price listings.
For listings in the Collectibles categories, sellers will receive an additional 20 free auction-style listings* per month."

So from the sounds of it, you filled your 20 free auction/fixed priced listings with the video games and the Fashion Star Filly listing was free since there are 20 auction style listings reserved for Collectibles. Since video games are not categorized as Collectibles on eBay,listing any additional ones will cost $0.30.

Hope this helps :)

Once you use up your free listings you are charged to list unless your item sells. Then the listing fee is waived. That is why you were first charged then refunded.
