   Found one in the thrift store again!  So exciting! 
 
This time it was one of the Sundazzle SHS ponies, Sunbeam.  One of the ones with UV reactive hair? 
 
Very nice body with little marks and little symbol damage, but...  nearly ALL her hair has been hacked right off!  She has maybe an inch of a tail and a mohawk.  A MOHAWK!  I'm going to still put her in sunlight and see if she still works, but maaaaaaaaaaaaan.  Poor pony!

Ugh... poor Sunbeam. It really is a shame. I hate when things like that happen. Don't the kids know any better? I can understand smearing their ponies with Playdoh or marking them with crayon or markers eve... but cuttin off a ponies hair? What goes through their heads! Don't the parents of these kids teach them to value the toys they own? That's just beyond me...


I totally know what you mean: I had a situation like this with my G1 Glory - I bought her in a lot with a bunch of other G1 ponies off of an internet auction. On the auction photo it was evident that she didn't have her tail and almost her entire mane has been cut (only her blue strand remaining), but I decided to buy the lot anyway. I'm currently trying to restore her as she's in a decent shape.


I just hope that Sunbeam's hair gimmick's still working...

I have a pony that has a moehawk too my baby sister took scissors  to her one day but she looks really nice though. I will take in just about any pony i find.

First off, congrats on the pony!  I love hearing about people saving them from thrift shops, especially as G1 become rarer!  But, aww!  It sucks that they hacked off the hair, especially since it's so hard to get a good match for rehairing!  Good luck with restorations!
