Pony Corral / Re: Opening MIB! ❤
« on: April 12, 2018, 02:33:49 PM »
I had intended to be a deboxer but couldn't bring myself to do it when the time came (story under spoiler).  I agree, there's value in the item being boxed/carded and with the items also available opened I don't feel there's a reason to open something that may someday be the last sealed item of its kind.  But I agree that the idea is tempting.

Spoiler
I had always wanted the pony castle as a kid and never got it.  So when I started pony collecting as an adult, it was one thing that I really wanted.  My dad bought me my first castle but I wasn't complete, then I bought another one that was more complete and in better condition.  That wasn`t enough.  I found a MIB one that I bought fully intending to open to enjoy, almost like creating an experience I would have like to have as a kid.  When I got the castle I couldn't bring myself to open it.  It something that can never be undone.  It felt like I would be destroying something rather than creating an enjoyable experience.  Years later, I bought another opened castle to play with.  I still have my boxed castle and I love it for what it is.

What a great thead. :)

My old hamster, Lewis, used to have a favourite wood chew toy.  I don't think he ever chewed it but it always ended up in his hideout no matter where I moved it to after cleaning his cage.  He was also weird in that he never came out if the lights were on.  It was a treat when occasionally I'd call to him when I'd leave in the morning and he'd pop his head out for a minute as if to say goodbye.

I hope some people with really big collections help out.  I don't have a large collection but I live in a small space and know what you mean about limited wall space.  Some things I though of when reading your post is that even with a deeper shelf, when stacking the ponies so that you can see them most likely will mean a higher space between shelves so that you end up with fewer shelves and less ponies displayed.  One thing I've been toying with in my space is putting walls perpendicular to the walls.  If you had 2 back to back Billies and anchor them to each other and the wall, I'd think they'd be pretty secure.  Doing this is dependant on the size and shape of your new pony room.  They also have the corner systems for Billy, and while they do take up some room for the angles, they look great.  Just a thought.  Good luck with displaying your ponies finally, it must feel great.  I can't wait to see pictures of your final product.

I would love to see photos, if anyone has some. I know, it's kind of a pain...but this is an intriguing item!

I second that, I'd love to see this

I can't wait to see how this goes.  I also have a similar one I unearthed not too long ago.  Mine's not rainbow haired but same unicorn.  She is also sporting discoloured glue spots.

I have Iron Man and would love more but it would get out of hand very very fast and I'd end up with no money for food or anything.  They're so amazing, though.

Congrats SDS, 20 years is amazing!  It's nice to hear of all the sweet couples.  I seem to have ended up a spinster with a pony collection instead of a cat collection.  Just as well, I'm allergic to cats.  ;)

Pony Corral / Re: Did you have any rare ponies as a kid?

The only rare pony I had as a kid was one that wasn't trashed from all the hard play inflicted on my ponies.  ;)

I've always loved your style and these are no exception.  So cute and well done.  I particularly like the sea pony.  Thanks for sharing these.  :)

These are beautiful.  It took me quite a while to realize that they weren't photographed in black and white.  Love their simplicity and monochromatic colour scheme.

Wow, that is a haul!  I'm a little jealous (ok maybe a lot ;) ) but mostly just happy for you.  I can just imagine how exciting it would be to get that many ponies at once.  What a Merry Christmas it is for you.

Very cute.  I love what you did with the Pretty Parlour.  And that cake sticker is to die for.  I'm not sure I'd be able to cut that cake and eat it.

I LOVE stuffies!  I have quite a few and still have to hold myself back from buying more all the time, especially Build a Bear.
