G4's - "Pointy and Weird"

When the G4s first came out I didnt like them. I thought they were too small and had weird pointy noses and didnt look like ponies at all. Once I started watching FIM it changed my mind. Now I am obssesed with G4s.

To each their own, I suppose. I'm not a fan of G4 *coughbutIhaveaFluttershycough* because they're a strong departure from the old, chubby ponies I know and love. Now I know how people felt when ponies made the transition from G1s to G2s.

I love G4! I don'g think they're pointy at all.. sure, they're not as round and chubby bottomed as G1, but they're petite and delicate!

That's what I thought.  I did think Fluttershy was cute before the show.  But, I didn't think she looked like a pony at all.

The G4s have definitely grown on me - at least they look better than the G3.5s!

When they first came out I thought they looked a lot like deer. That is why I did not buy them for about two years.  They have grown on me, there are some still that I do not think that I will ever like though.  My hunny does not like the G4 ponies. He likes how the G1 and G3 ponies look

I really don't get the whole "THEY LOOK LIKE DEER!" accusation for G2 and G4 ponies. What? Because they're thinner they look like deer?  They certainly look stylized (Especially G4 with it's pop-art/woodblock look), and it's fine for the designs not to be a personal cup of tea, but like deer? I'm sorry, I just don't get how this or this look like this.

They take a while to get used to, same as the G2s for many (and me). They're cute though. They are like little deer with the ears maybe?

Lol, I somehow agree with a bit of ... well, not everything, but "manything" ... here.

At first, I didn't like the G4s, because they looked utterly different from the G1s that I grew up with. One day, I thought, I'd give them a chance, bought one from a local store, and immediately grew attached to it. I agree with Aitsuki, they are petitie and delicate. Now that you've mentioned it, I also recognise the similarity to deer! I'd love to commission a Bambi-custom

I could possibly be the ears, but horse also have thin pointy ears. So :S

Maybe it's the Big Bambi Eyes that make everyone think "Deer".

It's the head to nose ratio that makes them deer like.  And the larger ears.

As mentioned above it's the small noses and big ears that make them look more deer-like. Still think they are cute though

I really like the G4s. I think they're really cute. I didn't like G1 as much when I was a kid, though. The chubby horse thing kind of turned me off to it. So I guess I just like the less horse-like G4s.

My mum thinks they look like they have no snout.
