New here, big fan of Pony Island and new customizer

Hello! My childhood love of ponies has recently been rekindled by Friendship is Magic and the awesomeness of Pony Island. I have a small but growing collection of G3 ponies. It's hard to hold onto them with the two kids in the house since they tend to claim them. My biggest frustration with FiM is that I don't like the tiny ponies. There will likely be some modification of G3s to get our new favourite characters in G3 form. The kids have already adopted all the discount ponies I have found at Value Village and renamed them with FiM names. They are pretty creative. Even Minty has been renamed "Granny Smith", which seems appropriate with her donkey pose.


I've been amazed by awesome custom ponies on deviant art for ages, but never thought of doing them myself until recently. While browsing the art forums on Pony Island, I saw someone making MLP customs for PI characters, and thought that was so cool. I've done a bit of model painting in my own time, and have always been good at doll/pony hairdos... After reading some tutorial sites for re-hairing and painting, I came across this website! I'm hoping to learn from other customizers and maybe do a couple swaps. I'm mostly interested in G3 customizing.  I love looking at people's collections of G1 ponies too. They are so gorgeous.


If there are other Pony Island players around, I have the same nickname there, so say hi I breed mostly Unis, Winged Unis, and Purrs. Anyhow, I'm a guy full of ideas... I just need more ponies!
