Thanks for updating with their names Cat
there was a way  block bidders with NPB strikes i think... I'll have to go see what you can block now. I know I've seen some auction descriptions where they ask for no 0 feedback bidders, or where you have to contact the seller first if you have low or less than 100% positive feedback before bidding

I just make sure all of my auctions are set to block bidders that have unpaid item strikes.. I don't sell that much, but with what I have sold, it hasn't been a problem.

How do you do that? Block all bidders with unpaid strikes?

I have a fairly large list of non paying bidders from the past few months.  I'm not sure what it is - but I have noticed that people who purchase "buy it now" items tend to pay more often than people who bid on the items.   :(  I do have automatic selling blocks to block people who have 3 strikes within a 6 month period, and it does help a little.

Another trend I have noticed are people who fail to understand how eBay works.  I had a woman buy something (non pony) and pay with an e-check.  I shipped within 12 hours of her payment clearing, but she gave me a negative as she expected me to ship as soon as she completed check-out.  Years back, it seemed as though it was common knowledge that most sellers waited for e-checks to clear before sending items.

It's under your Buyer Requirement settings.  It can be set at 2, 3, 4, or 5 unpaid item strikes within 1, 6, or 12 months.  So technically they have to at least 2 before you can block them totally.

I hope that made sense, it's early and I have only had one cup of coffee :P

@Binky, I know! I keep saying they need a 101 in buying etiquette before they let people loose on ebay.

i've had problems with this recently too :(
i had an auction finish for £22 last week and then got a message off the winning bidder with a (very conveniently sad) sob story saying she couldn't afford to pay for the lot. i don't understand someone bidding on something if they don't intend to pay that much for it. even worse, i put through a second chance offer to the next bidder down and they turned it down saying they couldn't afford their top bid either. ridiculous behaviour really!

i relisted the lot and it just finished for £6 less than the first time and now i feel cheated :(
xx

Cody that's terrible!

I try to be sympathetic because it's hard to know if they are telling the truth or not.  I like to believe they are but let's face it half of the time they are not.

I also don't get people bidding when clearly they know they do not have the money.  It's not a game    There is time and money involved for the seller.
