Somehow I went from 10th place to win the pony to 85th place even though I didn't open the game until the event was over. I use the Android app. Does that make a difference?

Back when I played on android, one of the glitches I noticed was that the group challenges would never remember where I was ranked.  I would open the game and it would say I was say 85th.  Then I'd go 'find me' and I'd really be 20 so it would update and say I was 20.  I'd turn the game off come back later and it would be telling me I was 85th again.  Maybe that's happening to you?

I have only just discovered the Amazon Underground version of this game. It's so much easier to progress in than the regular one

I will say...I am having a heck of a time advancing in the balloon gem challenge.  I keep ranking to about 24th place, then when I go play and check again, I'm down to 31.  Huh???  Ugh...I can't seem to break top 20.  >.<

I'm having trouble too.  But I'm also on vacation, so not playing it as much as it needs. 

Tip for balloon gem collection I. The mine cart.  Play it on the cheapest option.  You get way more balloons.

Maybe so. 

I saw Nightglider was on sale for 65 gems and she was the last of the ponies that I needed to complete the set with her, Double Diamond and Sugar Belle. I got 50 gems for completing the set so Nightglider only cost me 15 gems.

i had the best glitch ever on I believe it was Saturday afternoon...
shops were ready to collect from (all of them) and the ponies were ready to play (all of them) repeat I'd say about two dozen times. until I was getting really worn out and kind of tired and skipped a quest in Canterlot and it stopped as suddenly as it had started!
I made a LOT of bits as the Conservatory had just opened, completed a few quests, bought some things and leveled up many, many a pony. I wondered if it would ever end and was kind of glad when it did.
it was exhausting!
but fun!
I kind of hope it happens again. No idea what triggered it...

Woah that's quite a glitch! I hope gameloft doesn't slap a temp ban on you though for exploiting :/

I had a bad glitch however. I was trying to win peachy keen from the mine game solo challenge and I was about halfway there when in reset to 0 points.. I have no idea why. My game also can't decide if it wants to be winter still or not, every time I open it it's different. Sigh..

Actually wondering if I should make a separate thread for this instead of just posting in here but I have to give a big warning about this game. I've been playing the Windows version on my new Windows 10 laptop. My husband just tried to see if my progress could be backed up and they have it so heavily secured that if you try to play this game on a different machine, you'll still lose your progress including any money you may have spent while playing it (I didn't spend any. Learned that lesson when I had to replace my first Kindle Fire). Anyway, this game comes off as a huge ripoff and I'm definitely done playing anything by these con artists.

that's pretty standard for any micro-transaction games, I've found. Which is a huge reason I decided to never put real money into anything I can't "keep" Like I said, Sims is different because at least I can keep that offline.
But games like WoW, (or other MMORPG), this one, dragon...whatever it's called App that lets you do microtransactions...they just keep your money. I have found on the android that I can play it on two different machines at one time with a unique code, but I'll be darned still if I'm going to put money into it.
A huge reason I prefer the Amazon version to the other one. no ads, no money, no temptation.

OMG I DID THIS!!! Except it was like 90 gems, and I was SO CLOSE to affording the Town Hall in Ponyville!! It took me like another couple months to save it back up again, I was sooooooo mad!! I wish they had an extra "confirm?" button when it came to expanding, cuz I have almost accidentally bought SO many stinking expansions I didn't want!

They should have an extra confirm any time you spend gems.  I have accidentally spent them so many times in the past.  Usually only 2 or 3, but it's still annoying.

Saaaaaaaame xeevee!! Ugh, like the stuff where it's like "do you want to spend 3 gems to skip waiting literally only 60 seconds for the bread to be finished?" No one wants that!!! I certainly don't! And yet judging by how many times I've accidentally bought it ...

They make it easy to spend gems on purpose...they want you to buy them.  >.<  I seriously think left-handed people have an advantage on not spending gems - the 'purchase with gems' buttons are always placed right near the 'ok' button on the games and such.  So easy to accidentally double click.  *sigh*
